00:00Hello everyone, we're the cast of Little House on the Prairie, and I'm going to read an excerpt from the
00:04book.
00:05So, log by log, they built the walls higher, till they were pretty high, and Laura couldn't get over them
00:09anymore.
00:10She was tired of watching Pa and Ma build the house, and she went into the tall grass, exploring.
00:14Suddenly, she heard Pa shout,
00:16Let go! Get out from under!
00:18The big, heavy log was sliding.
00:20Pa was trying to hold up his end of it, to keep it from falling on Ma.
00:24He couldn't. It crashed down.
00:27Ma huddled on the ground.
00:28She got to Ma almost as quickly as Pa did.
00:30Pa knelt down and called Ma in a dreadful voice, and Ma gasped.
00:34I'm alright.
00:35The log was on her foot.
00:36Pa lifted the log, and Ma pulled her foot from under it.
00:38Pa felt her to see if any bones were broken.
00:41Move your arms, he said.
00:42Is your back hurt? Can you turn your head?
00:44Ma moved her arms and turned her head.
00:45Thank God, Pa said.
00:46He helped Ma to sit up.
00:47She said again, I'm alright, Charles. It's just my foot.
00:50Quickly, Pa took off her shoe and stocking.
00:52He felt her foot all over, moving the ankle and the instep of every toe.
00:56Does it hurt much? He asked.
00:58Ma's face was grey, and her mouth was a tight line.
01:00Not much, she said.
01:02No bones broken, said Pa.
01:04It's only a bad sprain.
01:05The sprain soon mended.
01:07Don't be so upset, Charles.
01:08I blame myself, said Pa.
01:10I should have used the skids.
01:11He helped Ma to the tent.
01:13He built up the fire and heated water.
01:16When the water was so hot as Ma could bear,
01:18she put her swollen foot into it.
01:20I need to run for Dr. Tan.
01:21No, please don't go.
01:23Sooner I go, the sooner I'll be back.
01:25The girls will take care of you, right?
01:26Yeah.
01:27You're so good.
01:30You got her.
01:32I got her.
01:32A little different to how I did it in the show.
01:34Yeah.
01:35She's kind of chill about it.
01:36She's like, it'll mend.
01:37Yeah, it's just wonderful.
01:38But her face is grey and her mouth is a thin line.
01:40I don't think this thing will work.
01:41On set, like props, resetting the bandage and stuff.
01:45We're like handling it with care.
01:46I'm like, yeah, no, no.
01:47It's not real.
01:48It's not real.
01:49No, makeup was so good.
01:50It looks so real.
01:51It looks so real.
01:52It looks so real.
01:52It looks so real.
01:53In the show, that sort of sets off the whole next thing you have to do.
01:57For some reason, you're annoyed in the show.
01:59I mean, let's just note that I was helping you build the house.
02:03That's true.
02:04It took both of us messing up.
02:06Takes two.
02:06Takes two to break one's ankle.
02:09Thank you very much for watching.
02:10Now go watch Little House on the Prairie on Netflix.
02:12Go.
02:13Bye.
