00:00Tough one for me also here on the White Sox, because, of course, they've been one of baseball's big overachieving
00:05teams, and they get Murakami back now, and Montgomery's had a great year, and so has Vargas.
00:11But it feels to me like, Tom, they're a little bit ahead of schedule, and when that happens, teams do
00:16usually not get all that aggressive at the trade deadline, and I think without the White Sox doing that, it's
00:23a little perilous to me.
00:24I think if, and again, I don't blame them if they don't want to make any moves here, but if
00:29they don't, I may like the plus money here, honestly.
00:32I don't know how this is sustainable for the whole year.
00:35So this is what I keep thinking about when it comes to the White Sox, like getting Murakami back, like,
00:39is that enough?
00:41Is that really going to solve the problems? Is that going to push them over the edge?
00:44Like, would they be five, ten games better if Murakami had been healthy the whole season?
00:48Would they be firmly in control of the AL Central?
00:51They're like, I don't know, and this is, to your point, when they're ahead of schedule, it's like, if they
00:56don't make any moves and they completely stand pat, they don't trade anyone away, they don't bring anyone in, it's
01:00like, you have a good hand in pocket.
01:01You might as well not mess that up, figure out a few extra things in the offseason.
01:06Obviously, with the CBA, we keep mentioning, like, can you add a player one year, get a sign, bring someone
01:11up next spring training?
01:13That's when you'll be really ready to compete.
01:14So if they don't make any moves and they don't make it, I still think this is a good season
01:17for them.
