South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham has died at 71 following what his office described as a “brief and sudden illness.” His family thanked supporters for their prayers and requested privacy during this difficult time. A prominent Republican, close Trump ally and longtime U.S. senator, Graham had represented South Carolina since 2003. He was recently in Kyiv, where he met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and argued that China could play a decisive role in ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Graham said the road to peace passed through Beijing, citing China’s significant influence over Moscow and calling for dialogue to end the conflict.

00:17And the ballroom.
00:19Many people, I think, originally saw it as a vanity project that President Trump wanted
00:25to build this grand ballroom as kind of a vanity.
00:30Project, I don't see it that way, and I don't think I ever did.
00:33A meeting space that is ultimately, that is secured on the White House grounds that would
00:41allow people to do what they did at the Hilton Hotel is necessary.
00:46I'm convinced if there had been a presidential ballroom adjacent to the White House, the guy
00:53would have never gotten in.
00:56You had an event with the line of succession in a ballroom where 1,000 people were in a
01:05hotel above it.
01:07This guy apparently checked in the night before and was able to get shotguns and pistols and
01:12knives and made a rush for the ballroom door.
01:15And thank God he didn't make it.
01:19So when he first got elected in January, we met, you know, biggest comeback ever.
01:26We talked about like...
01:27You think so, really?
01:28I didn't feel it was a comeback, actually.
01:31So...
01:31Because the first one was...
01:32The bottom line is, we talked about a drug caliphate in our backyard.
01:37You know, we had Venezuela, we have Cuba, we have Colombia in our backyard.
01:46And these three countries have been condemned ever since I've been in politics.
01:53Joe Biden put a $25 billion bounty on Maduro's head.
01:57Chris Smith, the day he got inaugurated, said, I hope Trump will hold Maduro's feet to the
02:05fire.
02:05He did.
02:06So what has he done?
02:08He's going to clear our backyard of a drug caliphate, countries run by narco-terrorist
02:14dictators who murder, rape, send drugs into our country to kill thousands of our citizens.
02:20To my Democratic friends, you should be celebrating this.
02:24When Bin Laden went down, I was the first to applaud President Obama.
02:30This was one of the most sophisticated military operations in the history of the country.
02:36What they were able to do was amazing.
02:38They knew we were coming.
02:40We had a good part of the Navy.
02:43And they were able to capture this man alive.
02:47No military in the world could have done it.
02:49And as to this commander-in-chief, he did something people talked about doing.
02:55You just wait for Cuba.
02:57Cuba is a communist dictatorship that's killed priests and nuns.
03:03They've preyed on their own people.
03:05Their days are numbered.
03:06We're going to wake up one day, I hope in 26, in our backyard, we're going to have allies
03:12in these countries, doing business with America, not narco-terrorist dictators, killing Americans.
03:19This is a big frigging day.
03:21And everybody in the world is thinking differently than they were just a few days ago because of what you
03:27did.
03:30I'm arguing to both parties.
03:32We need to do a little soul-searching here.
03:37The man who was shot, I've seen the video, it needs to be investigated.
03:42I'm sure it will.
03:45There are things being done on the ice side that a lot of Americans are uncomfortable with.
03:51I get that.
03:52To my Democratic colleagues, if you want to try to make it more professional, count me in.
03:59If you want to have more accountability, count me in.
04:01But your rhetoric, count me out.
04:05If you were from a foreign country, Senator Schmidt, listening to the debate on the cable channels,
04:12you thought we were the Gestapo.
04:15Have you had any stories about a guy getting his finger bit off?
04:20The ICE agents and the Border Patrol and all federal law enforcement involved in this has been slandered and smeared.
04:28And to the Republican Party, where have you been?
04:33Count me in for holding them accountable.
04:36Where are you at, leaders?
04:39Where have you been?
04:41These people are patriotic.
04:44They're away from home.
04:46These crowds follow them to their hotel.
04:50They intimidate their families.
04:52The people pushing this are nuts.
04:55They're not normal.
04:57The man who got shot, investigate.
05:00But do not tell me that he didn't have an agenda.
05:05Look what happened 10 days before.
05:07Maybe excessive force, let's look.
05:10But don't play a game like the people out in the streets that are harassing ICE that they're not part
05:17of the problem.
05:18The real problem is not Kristi Noem.
05:22You can say whether she's done a good job or not.
05:25Stephen Miller.
05:26The real problem is that there are 12 states in America who openly defy federal law.
05:36Why are we dealing with this?
05:39During the four years of Joe Biden, you obliterated our borders.
05:44You let anybody and everybody that could get here, get here.
05:49You created chaos.
05:51And a lot of Americans have been destroyed by your illegal immigration policy.
05:56And all you want to talk about over there are the cops.
06:01Senator Schumer, you blame me.
06:02I blame you.
06:03I work with you on comprehensive immigration reform.
06:07It's not I can't get there.
06:08But when you got in charge with Biden, you did everything conservatives were afraid of.
06:13You ignored the law.
06:16Thank you all.
06:17We won.
06:24So I want to start with a bunch of thank yous.
06:27I want to thank the big guy, God.
06:30Trump comes later.
06:32Mr. President, you're not far by God, but we're going to start with him.
06:37I want to thank my sister Darlene for always standing up for her.
06:43All of her brother and all of my family, friends, and Mark and the campaign team.
06:49This is one of the best-run campaigns in the history of the state of South Carolina.
06:53All of you should be proud.
06:56I certainly am.
06:59So what I'm most proud of is that South Carolina validated what I've been doing for our state,
07:06who I am and what I believe and what I stand for.
07:09But most importantly, South Carolina rejected garbage in the form of Mark Lynch.
07:20So what have we learned tonight?
07:22If you throw garbage at the people of South Carolina, they will kick you in the ass.
07:32So I have a lot to be grateful for.
07:35There may be a lot of self-made people in the world, but I am not one of them.
07:39I want to start with President Donald J. Trump.
07:45I just talked to him, so I know he's watching.
07:48Mr. President, when you endorsed me early on, it changed everything.
07:52You're the gold standard in the Republican world, the most consequential endorsement, I think, in the history of politics.
07:59And when you spoke, the people of South Carolina listened.
08:02And President Trump, I'm coming back to the Senate in 27.
08:07I'm going to win in November.
08:09And I'm going to help you change this world and change this country.
