00:00You've been storing mushrooms wrong your entire life. Let's test three ways to store them. One,
00:04we're just going to keep in the store packaging in the fridge. The next one is the method that
00:07I always use, and that's to keep it in a brown paper bag. The key is to keep moisture away
00:12from
00:12the mushrooms so they last longer, so you don't want to wash them first. Put them directly in the
00:17bag. Keep this bag in the fridge, but you're going to leave it open. The third method I'm trying is
00:21going to be in a zipper bag lined with a paper towel. Again, we are not washing them first,
00:26and we're going to leave the bag open. I'm going to put these in the main part of the fridge
00:29because
00:29there's too much moisture in the crisper drawer, and I'm going to check back in a couple days.
00:33The ones left in the package are definitely getting slimy. These are completely dry. These
00:38are definitely feeling better than the ones left in the store packaging, but they are slightly moist
00:42compared to the ones in the paper bag. After a week, these are pretty much done for. These are
00:46starting to shrivel and wrinkle a bit, but are completely dry and still good. These are middle
00:50of the road, getting a little slimy, but better than the store packaging. The winner for me is my
00:54tried and true method of storing them in a paper bag. So I'm going to continue with the way I've
00:58always
00:58done it, and you should too.
