Boschetto is situated on the right bank of the river Maggia. The hamlet belongs to the municipality of Cevio in the Maggia valley. Over the years it has preserved the character of an old rural village. It is as if time has stood still at this place in the 18th century. Residential buildings and utility buildings such as stables, sheds, chestnut dryhouses, wine presses or mills follow one another spontaneously. The village center has been a protected monument for years. Characteristic of the surrounding cultivated landscape, where former vines, grains and vegetables grew, are the Carásc, the gneiss monoliths used to support the berries, and the so-called Caraa, lined with low stone walls.
Boschetto has maintained its uniform character for centuries. In hardly any other place is the original Ticino better explored than in this hamlet of Cevio.
