'Total Eclipse Of The Heart' singer Bonnie Tyler dies aged 75

Legendary Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler has died at the age of 75. She achieved international fame in the 1980s, with the release of the hit single 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart'.

00:04The legendary Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler has died at the age of 75.
00:09The music icon rose to international fame in the 80s with the release of her hit single
00:14Total Eclipse of the Heart.
00:16She's also known for her other hits including Holding Out for a Hero and It's a Heartache.
00:22In May, Tyler was hospitalized in Faro for an emergency intestinal surgery
00:27after she began experiencing abdominal back pain.
00:30However, the singer began to suffer complications and a reported serious infection
00:35and she was placed in an induced coma.
00:39Last month, Tyler's spokesperson said she was out of the coma but remained in intensive care.
00:44Tyler was supposed to go on tour this summer but was forced to cancel and postpone all planned shows due
00:50to her illness.
00:51A statement published on her official website reads that Tyler unexpectedly passed away
00:56as a result of the illness that she was being treated for.
00:59A further statement will be issued later.
