00:58The fight game in the combat sports world is McGregor's world.
01:06No athlete has impacted MMA more than the notorious Conor McGregor.
01:19He has taken our sport to unprecedented heights.
01:22And there can be no doubt that that is the most popular fighter in the history of the sport.
01:25No one thought about being a double champion before Conor McGregor did it.
01:29Woo! That looks good!
01:30At UFC 329,
01:33McGregor returns,
01:35looking for the biggest comeback in the sport's history.
01:39My return to combat sport will be a colossal event
01:42due to what's at stake,
01:43due to what has transpired,
01:45and to what can be.
01:48welcoming McGregor back to the octagon
01:50is a legend in his own right.
01:53Max blessed Holloway.
01:55Max blessed Holloway.
01:55One of the best boxers in the octagon.
01:57The Hawaiian Warriors Hall of Fame worthy career
01:59saw lengthy reign at the top of the featherweight division
02:03before being crowned the baddest man in the game.
02:05Oh!
02:07Oh!
02:08Oh!
02:08That'll do it!

02:18That's a real warrior!
02:19I'm in!
02:20I'm right here!
02:21The world is watching you.
02:23The two first met as young prospects.
02:26Not fatigued whatsoever.
02:28These are two conditioned featherweights
02:29here on display tonight.
02:30Thirteen years later,
02:32fate has brought them together once more
02:34for a legacy-defining moment
02:35in the headline fight of UFC 329.
02:38Max is my child.
02:40I sunned him when we first competed.
02:44And now I come back.
02:45I'm going to go in and sun him again.
02:47The world is watching you.
02:49Watch me right.
02:51Home sweet home is late.
02:53Yeah!
02:55After a long hiatus,
02:57he wants to come back with a bang,
02:59so I'm going to go out there
03:00and make a masterpiece.
03:02This one right here is going to
03:03walk out victorious, man.
03:04Oh!
03:05That's it!
03:06That was it!
03:07One and done!
03:08With an exclusive preview
03:10of this marquee match-up
03:11and a look at the journeys
03:12of two combat sports icons.
03:15All right, lads.
03:17Damn it, Father.
03:18Just bless food.
03:18Bless everybody around here.
03:20Amen.
03:20Amen.
03:21One, two, three.
03:22Win!
03:23Keep it going, boys.
03:24Keep it going.
03:24I'm going to lick your face
03:25over and over again.
03:28Max, you're not going to
03:29lay a smoke on me.
03:31Come on.
03:34This is UFC 329.
03:40Countdown.
03:41I am taking everything
03:42of what I have built.
03:43It's going to be one hell of a night.
03:48Dublin, Ireland.
03:50A city that embodies
03:51the centuries-old fighting spirit
03:53of its people.
03:55In the suburbs
03:56of this historic capital
03:58rose an athlete
03:59that would transcend sport
04:01to become a global superstar.
04:03Recognize the world over.
04:05The young man from humble roots
04:07who believed he was destined
04:10for greatness.
04:11Combat.
04:12It's definitely in my blood.
04:14The McGregor history
04:15is a history of battle
04:17and fighting of invaders
04:18of our land.
04:19and I love it.
04:23Eleven years of age,
04:25I felt I needed to learn
04:26how to fight
04:26to be able to defend myself.
04:29And I come to develop
04:30an obsessive mindset
04:32and mentality
04:35toward fighting.
04:36Conor McGregor knows
04:37he's going to the top.
04:38He doesn't think
04:39or hope
04:40and with these kind of performances
04:42I believe in.
04:43I'm the f***ing future.
04:46For most young men
04:47getting into combat sport
04:48they don't get into thinking
04:49I'm going to make a career
04:50out of this.
04:51But hard work pays.
04:53There it is!
04:54It is all over!
04:55The great champion of the world!
04:58I visualized it in my head.
04:59I saw it in my head.
05:00I know where I am standing here.
05:02And I believed
05:03and I worked
05:04very hard
05:05for that belief.
05:10And then
05:11into reality
05:12it came.
05:13A lot of people
05:14have been talking
05:15about Conor McGregor
05:16for a long time
05:17and we're going to find out
05:18if he's the real deal.
05:19Again,
05:19UFC is a completely different level
05:21and Conor says he's ready for it.
05:23He wants to belt that featherweight
05:24and he wants to belt that lightweight
05:25as well.
05:26Look at that uppercut!
05:27Marcus is hurt!
05:28Looking to finish in the air!
05:29This is why
05:30everyone's been talking about
05:31Conor McGregor!
05:32It's all over!
05:33100% I'll be the UFC
05:35featherweight champion.
05:36That's what I'm looking for.
05:37I'm going to be
05:37to build a legacy in.
05:38To be remembered
05:39as one of the greats.
05:40He is in a state
05:41of certainty.
05:43He visualizes
05:44seeing the gold
05:45around his waist.
05:46I took advantage
05:46of every second of it.
05:48Every second
05:48in your life
05:49is an opportunity
05:50to create a moment.
05:51Oh!
05:52This could be it!
05:53Wow!
05:53The roof has been lifted off
05:56of the O2
05:57here in Dublin.
05:58We're not here to take part!
05:59We're here to take over!
06:01It's not just
06:01his physical capabilities
06:03that make this kid special.
06:04It's the things that he says.
06:06Augusta wins
06:06and he does the chicken dance.
06:08It's going to be a
06:08first round KO.
06:09Mark my words.
06:10He gets the people
06:11in a way
06:12that really upsets him.
06:13But all that
06:14would be nonsense.
06:15Being a camera.
06:16He could knock people
06:17dead with one shot.
06:18He said
06:19first round KO.
06:21Mark my words.
06:22I said
06:23I'd knock him out
06:23in the first round.
06:25You can call me
06:25Mystic Mac
06:26because I predict these things.
06:28Plus
06:28the Mystic Mac quality
06:30where he predicts
06:31outcome
06:32accurately.
06:33He goes down in two.
06:34Hard left hand.
06:35This could be it.
06:36McGregor was predicting
06:37a knockout.
06:38That's it.
06:38That was exactly what
06:39McGregor called.
06:40And he delivered.
06:41To win is not enough.
06:43You must win
06:44extraordinarily.
06:45Oh!
06:46Big shots by McGregor!
06:47That's it!
06:48There can be no doubt
06:49that that is
06:50the most popular fighter
06:51in the history of the sport.
06:52martial arts mastery
06:53by yours truly.
06:55And the love
06:55and the joy
06:56and the excitement
06:57and the creativity.
06:58It altered the game.
07:00He has put the entire sport
07:01of mixed martial arts
07:02on his back.
07:03The money got bigger
07:04when Conor McGregor arrived.
07:05The goals got bigger.
07:06But there's a lot of pressure
07:07you put on yourself
07:09when you talk a lot of trash.
07:11Jose Aldo
07:12has been humiliated
07:13and disrespected
07:15but he hasn't lost
07:17in ten years
07:17and he's beaten people down.
07:19Oh!
07:20He slapped him!
07:21He showed
07:22that whatever
07:23he was hard to have
07:24could come true.
07:25The first punch
07:27he threw.
07:28The fact that he said
07:29from day one
07:30that this is what
07:31he was gonna do
07:31and who he was gonna be
07:33and made it happen.
07:34So run and power, run
07:36and power, run
07:37and follow me
07:38I'll bring you to the light
07:40and through the fight
07:41there's men we live and glean.
07:43So fear be God
07:44and look beyond
07:45our feet of government's war.
07:47And men will pray
07:48and prove the day
07:49they hear the Irish roar.
07:51My goals
07:53for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
07:56Money and gold.
07:57He has taken our sport
07:58to unprecedented heights.
08:00No one thought about
08:01being a double champion
08:02before Conor McGregor did it.
08:03Oh man.
08:05Oh he's done.
08:06He's done.
08:06That's it.
08:07He didn't just do it.
08:08He did it flawlessly.
08:09History making performance
08:10by Conor McGregor.
08:12He believes it.
08:13He forced it into existence.
08:15It's what I dreamed
08:16into reality.
08:17Oh!
08:17That looks good!
08:18I wished to break records
08:20and that's what I've done.
08:22The notorious Conor McGregor
08:23the UFC's first simultaneous
08:25two division champion.
08:27It's unquestioned
08:28who Conor McGregor is
08:29in his sword of fighting.
08:33Gorgeous.
08:40Regardless of results,
08:43the momentum of McGregor
08:44throughout his career
08:45looked seemingly unstoppable.
08:47That was until the summer
08:49of 2021.
08:50We are sold out tonight
08:52for the biggest fight
08:53of the year to date.
08:55Poirier versus McGregor 3.
08:58The toughest business of all
08:59is the fight business.
09:01And I'd be lying if I said
09:02it wasn't a difficult period
09:04of a few years.
09:05One of the most important
09:06fights of the year
09:07and an immense fight
09:09for the career
09:09of Conor McGregor.
09:10I knew the leg
09:11had this stress fracture
09:13going into the bout.
09:14It was known.
09:15I was in a boot
09:16prior to the bout
09:17walking around.
09:20I stepped up
09:21and rocked on.
09:25Right away, you see McGregor
09:27approaching it more
09:28in a mixed martial arts way,
09:30right?
09:30A lot of kicks
09:31opposed to just boxing.
09:33The damage had been done
09:34in the leg
09:34and it was accumulating.
09:36and Conor's very leg kick heavy
09:38early on.
09:39And it snapped
09:41and that was it.
09:42It happens.
09:45Oh!
09:47McGregor covers up
09:48towards the end of the round.
09:50Wow!
09:52Oh, his leg.
09:53Oh, McGregor hurt his leg.
09:57And they're going to split that leg
09:59and eventually get Conor McGregor
10:00out of here.
10:01F*** sake!
10:02The frustration boiling over
10:04for Conor McGregor.
10:05Yeah.
10:06First thing you got to think about
10:07is how dire
10:08that injury can be.
10:10Not everybody even returns
10:11from that injury.
10:12His leg actually snapped.
10:14It may affect his career
10:15worse down the line.
10:16Yeah!
10:18He's now in the ambulance.
10:20No.
10:20Hey, watch out.
10:27McGregor's gone for a while.
10:29It's going to take some time
10:29for him to get better.
10:31But Conor McGregor's not done,
10:32right?
10:33This guy still has a lot
10:34to give this sport.
10:35if he heals.
10:36If he heals.
10:37Just had to getting out
10:38of the hospital.
10:39Had to getting settled
10:40into my apartment.
10:41I'm going to be here for a while.
10:42It's close to the doctors.
10:45I've got a titanium rod going down the knee.
10:48From the knee to me ankle.
10:49I'm in a lot of pain.
10:52I'm in a lot of pain.
10:52It's not going to be a few days
10:53or even a few weeks.
10:54It's going to be a bit of time.
10:56I'm going to do this.
10:57I'm going to come back.
10:58I've got all the tools to do this.
11:00and I'm going to do it.
11:01And I'm excited about it.
11:02And you know,
11:03what a story it's going to be.
11:06My priority
11:08was to get back to full health.
11:13And I come back after such an injury.
11:16Full of energy.
11:18To get back in there.
11:20Keep going.
11:21Oh, yes.
11:23Hurry up.
11:25I was going to slap the bone
11:26in a slap more than I am.
11:29Ho-ho-ho!
11:34Conor's miraculous return
11:35was slated for UFC 303.
11:38All right, time in.
11:39Breaking news.
11:40Conor McGregor, Michael Chandler
11:41taking the octagon for you June 29th.
11:44The one and only, notorious Conor McGregor
11:47who's returning to the UFC's octagon.
11:49is going to fight Michael Chandler.
11:51With anticipation running high,
11:53McGregor suffered a second shocking setback.
11:56There was lapses in concentration in the training.
11:58I am the lead of the training.
12:00So if I am lapsing in concentration,
12:02it filters down.
12:03And that is what took place.
12:05The training partner had no protection.
12:08Next thing you know,
12:10bang, broke my toe.
12:12I'll leave it at that.
12:13All right, time.
12:15McGregor's fight has been cancelled
12:17after McGregor suffered an injury while training.
12:19The Irishman hasn't fought nearly three years
12:21and now will have to wait even longer for his return.
12:25The injury happened.
12:26It was very, very difficult.
12:27It was my only time to ever pull out of a fight
12:29for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
12:31And it was a very, very tough one.
12:33Do you think we see Conor again?
12:35Because there's some talk about him being done.
12:38The clock is definitely ticking.
12:40Get ready for the comeback.
12:42But the big question is, is that it?
12:44The more time that passes,
12:48the less likely it is
12:49that he ever steps in the arc is going to get.
12:51When that injury happened,
12:53I put it to myself.
12:54Now is the time where what you say to yourself
12:57behind closed doors,
12:59it's now time to act on that.
13:00You've got to put in the work on yourself.
13:02And that I have done.
13:03Right here, right now, up for grabs.
13:06Built here, built up, built to last.
13:08I've been gifted this ability to walk,
13:10pursuing my craft.
13:11And for too long,
13:13I disgraced that gift.
13:15Halfway in.
13:17And no more.
13:18So, every day, I count my lucky stars in prayer to God
13:22that I'm able to get up and go.
13:24Keep going, keep going.
13:25I am ecstatic with the opportunity that lays ahead of me.
13:29And I look very forward to my return.
13:33Let's go.
13:35Oh.
13:36Get going.
13:38Drive.
13:39Superstar Conor McGregor will make his return
13:41to the octagon against Max Holloway.
13:44Woo!
13:44The announcement of a McGregor fight
13:47still gets me.
13:49Oh, I feel there's so much left for me
13:52to conquer in this game.
13:54So much more accolades.
13:55More belts.
13:56More knockouts.
13:58More records.
13:59More cash.

15:11It's in the game.
15:13Can you frame up for me, Don?
15:15Keep moving.
15:16Sick.
15:17Yeah, it feels great.
15:19My first couple of fights in the UFC, I didn't have a striking coach.
15:23What I would do, I was playing UFC games and then I'd try a bunch of different techniques
15:27with certain fighters.
15:28And I was like, whoa, I can probably work in real life.
15:31Gorgeous. Ja, love that.
15:33Stay there for a bit, stay forward.
15:34I did.
15:38I've been blessed with the ratings of the past few games.
15:43That's crazy.
15:44Moving on here.
15:44They actually just announced the ten five-star fighters for UFC 6,
15:48and your boys won one.
15:51Oh!
15:52That looked pretty clean.
15:56Superhero stance.
15:57Every fighter has a different flow state,
15:59and your flow state is at the point down.
16:00Hell yeah.
16:01I've been playing games since forever,
16:03since Nintendo 64 days.
16:05Oh, oh, oh, oh my God!
16:08Holy .
16:09Wow!
16:10You guys are insane in the brain, bro.
16:14And then, of course, I was a Madden fan,
16:16and whenever you've seen athletes get the Madden cover,
16:19you're like, damn, I want to get the cover of that.
16:22Bro, you guys are just the best.
16:24That's insane.
16:25Here we are, UFC 6.
16:27I got the cover.
16:28It's exciting.
16:29If you did want to check out more stuff,
16:31you are more than welcome to.
16:32Nah, I'm good.
16:33I got to keep some stuff open for my stream.
16:36I want to be surprised just like them.
16:38The game is insane.
16:39There we go.
16:40Well, thanks for your time.
16:41Thank you, guys.
16:41Take it easy.
16:44The Hawaiian star will make his return in the headline fight of UFC 329 against Conor McGregor.
16:51In parallel to his opponent, Holloway's childhood surroundings laid the foundations for fighting.
16:57But natural talent and self-belief would see him rise to become a combat sports icon.
17:02I'm from Waianae, Hawaii.
17:05The part of Hawaii where they take care of you, they see you struggling, they literally give you the shirt
17:10off their backs.
17:15But then if you look at somebody the wrong way, you're probably walking out there with a broken nose and
17:19two black eyes.
17:20You know, so it is what it is, right?
17:26You got to be one tough mother effa coming out of Waianae.
17:31It's the reason why I'm here.
17:33It's the reason why I'm one of the baddest mother effas in the world.
17:37I fight for Waianae, like, trying to show people that you're not bad kids.
17:40Like, fighting in the ring is more better than on the streets.
17:43Us Hawaiians, we have fighting culture and we're warriors.
17:46We love that .
17:48Turning pro as a teenager, Holloway emerged as a talented prospect on the regional scene.
17:55Max Holloway, he couldn't wait to turn 18 years old so he could fight professionally.
18:00But age 19, Max Holloway has wrestled the world title belt away from Paris Sarmiento and there is a new
18:09champion.
18:11In 2012, he became the youngest fighter to join the UFC roster.
18:1520 years old and already fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
18:20But continue to show promise.
18:22Proudly representing Waianae in Hawaii.
18:25This man is an absolute killer.
18:27That is a sniper striker right there.
18:30He's so diverse for a young fighter. He's not very predictable.
18:34Holloway fights mentally well above his age and experience level.
18:40One year later, Holloway was matched up with Conor McGregor.
18:44It would be the Irishman's second fight in the top tier promotion.
18:47But the signs of his star power were clearly evident.
18:50Just 21 years old, Max Holloway already making his sixth walk to the UFC's octagon.
18:56And certainly he's chalking up the experience here as he takes on Conor McGregor.
19:01The first time I fight Conor was 13 years ago. It's crazy.
19:06This is a very unique challenge for Max Holloway.
19:08I mean, going into the fight was huge, you know.
19:10There was a lot of hype around Conor coming into it.
19:14Wow.
19:15I mean, this walkout was crazy.
19:17This guy's from Ireland, one UFC fight, and this place is on its feet.
19:22This is something unusual. This kid's got something.
19:25The notorious Conor McGregor!
19:32Not many people know that this is a prelim.
19:35And they aired us on live TV, so...
19:38I mean, that's how big Conor was even at that moment, which is insane.
19:42Conor McGregor taking on that man, 21-year-old Max Holloway.
19:47The first 30 seconds of the damn fight, I kicked his knee.
19:49That screwed me up for the rest of the fight.
19:52Couldn't really get going.
19:53Just a great fluidity.
19:55With Conor McGregor, and he continues to land upstairs on Max Holloway.
19:58Good right hand over the top by Max.
20:00Just a long dude. Super agile.
20:02His timing was really good. He won most of the exchanges, you know.
20:05He had some takedowns.
20:07I felt like he was up on the scoreboard.
20:09That night was his night.
20:11The notorious Conor!
20:14McGregor's win in Boston confirmed his status as a star on the rise.
20:19For Holloway, the disappointment of defeat threatened a premature end to his UFC dreams, sparking one of the most reputable
20:27runs to a world title.
20:30After that fight, I was like, brother, I'm not going home yet. I got a belt I need to win.
20:37And here is the confident and charismatic Max Holloway.
20:41His last fight coming in Boston against Conor McGregor and perhaps a little bit of a wake-up call.
20:45My next fight, I was fighting a guy making his debut.
20:48Max!
20:49Blessed!
20:51Holloway!
20:53Usually, a person with a lost fighting a newbie, if you lose, you probably get your papers going home.
21:03And I just absolutely dominate the fight.
21:05Max Holloway with the GKO victory.
21:08To be the best, you gotta be the best. And the best is blessed.
21:12This man is here for one reason.
21:14That'll do it!
21:15He's here to leave a legacy as the greatest fighter of all time.
21:20And he doesn't run away from anything.
21:22I always wanted to fight the best guys and prove that that's what I'm here for.
21:25Max Holloway's got Cub Swanson hurt.
21:28Anyone, anytime, anywhere.
21:29He got it!
21:31If you're not willing to fight the best guys coming up, then what the hell do you think?
21:34You're gonna make yourself stick around.
21:35He's gone on a tear. A who's who of everybody in the 145-pound division.
21:41Eventually got me my intro title shot against Anthony Perez.
21:43A win tonight sets him up for a shot at the undisputed featherweight championship of the world.
21:50Pick! Head body! Head body, yeah!
21:52Another hard shot to the body. Pettis is in trouble. He's melting, that's it!
21:56One thing led to another and I got the undisputed title.
21:58Oh! Max Holloway knocks down Jose Aldo! That'll do it! Max Holloway is the undisputed UFC featherweight champion!
22:07Oh!
22:07And Max Holloway is looking to stamp himself as one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters of all time.
22:13And he is already in that discussion.
22:15Max's high volume and tenacious style would see him lay claim to numerous all-time records during his historic tenure
22:21at Featherweight.
22:22700 strikes in one fight, that's absolutely insane!
22:25Oh!
22:26One and done!
22:28With a legacy confirmed as one of the greatest 145-pounders of all time, Max set his sights on a
22:34lofty ambition and a title worthy of his reputation.
22:39Justin Gaethje, Max Holloway, two of the most popular, baddest fighters on the roster competing for this special title.
22:45When you have the BMF title, there is a certain fight that fans have in mind.
22:49Holloway just told them, stay right here!
22:51To make it entertaining, get a finish.
22:53Oh!
22:55Oh!
22:55Oh!
22:56That'll do it!
22:57Yeah!
22:57With one second to go!
22:59Oh!
23:00That's the greatest knockout of all time.
23:02Max Holloway is here to defend that championship and spoil the Dustin Poirier party.
23:07I want to put my name in the record books.
23:09Max Holloway wants to find his way onto the Mount Rushmore of MMA fighters.
23:14At the end of the day, I just wanted to fight who's who and I did a pretty damn good
23:18job of doing that.
23:19With one of the most decorated careers in UFC history, Holloway now sits among the elite and revered as an
23:26international fan favorite.
23:28With news of McGregor's long-awaited return, one name stood above all to welcome him back to the Octagon.
23:35There's some people out there that have beaten him that I'd like to see Max go and extinguish some of
23:39those losses that he's had.
23:40One of which, Conor McGregor.
23:42Oh, yeah.
23:42Come and get it.
23:43I want to see him fight Max now.
23:45July 11th, Conor McGregor making his return against Max Holloway.
23:50If you're talking about who's deserving of it, Max Holloway's the guy that's deserving of it.
24:04Conor McGregor's rise was aided by the dedicated team at Dublin's Straight Blast Gym.
24:11Under the guidance of head coach John Cavanaugh, the SBG team put Irish MMA on the map.
24:18And it all stemmed from a relationship that formed nearly two decades ago.
24:26In the MMA world, for somebody to be with the same group for 20 years now, it's very rare.
24:34My first impression of Conor was confidence that he had no problem speaking his mind.
24:40I'm visualizing in there, I must not only win, I must dominate.
24:46I've got all belts around my waist, my kids' kids.
24:49I have everything they ever want.
24:51Then it will pay.
24:53And also curious.
24:56Yeah, I need to give him that little dead space.
24:58Just give it to him, sell it to him.
25:00He came from boxing, but this was his first introduction to NNA.
25:05And right away, he was super curious about how it all works, why you move certain ways.
25:11It's about movement, it's not about resistance.
25:14I mean, you should be going in there fluid.
25:16You never know how somebody's going to compete.
25:20It's getting the balance better now between yin and yang.
25:23That's how Marstard's supposed to train.
25:24Hard firing, and then the yang's supposed to be soft.
25:27They're supposed to keep themselves supple.
25:29A lot of people say what they want to do, and then they don't back it up with the work
25:33that's required.
25:34But he kept showing up, he kept winning, and you start daring to believe.
25:41See that one?
25:43Wondering, how far can this go?
25:45Progress.
25:46Progress.
25:48Back then, even an Irish guy saying he'll be in the UFC one day is a big goal.
25:53Never mind becoming a champion.
25:56All in baby, we did it! Yeah!
25:59Conor's success in the octagon had a massive impact on participation across the whole country for mixed martial arts.
26:07And of course then, other competitors getting into the UFC.
26:11John Cavanaugh's picking up quite a few frequent flyer miles with the few stars that he's got in the gym
26:15right now.
26:15The whole team's gathering momentum.
26:17Well, there's so much energy and hype and excitement attached to that camp right now.
26:23Conor's impact will be that it gave belief to the next generation that this is possible.
26:29That if you put in the work, you can get the results.
26:37A five-year hiatus has reignited McGregor's competitive edge.
26:42And the SBG team rally behind their leading man once again.
26:47To prepare for the upcoming challenge against fellow legend Max Holloway at UFC 329.
26:55There's certainly a great hunger to show he still has it.
27:03It's just great to see him really back in a nice flow as the technique comes together.
27:10And he just wants to put on a special display to show he's still the man.
27:18The MAAC has a fight hallelujah.
27:20The magnitude of this event is colossal.
27:23So, it's not hard to get motivated.
27:26The biggest superstar in mixed martial arts history returns.
27:31And to remain disciplined and dedicated with all that is on the line here.
27:35And I am relishing it.
27:37Another iconic mixed martial arts belt with yours truly at its helm.
27:42Okay, round one.
27:43Working hard, same thing every day.
27:46No ego.
27:46We leave our ego at the door.
27:48We're learning.
27:49Working our shots.
27:51And preparing ourselves.
27:52Main event slots.
27:54Here at Straight Blast Gym Ireland.
27:56He is back for another signature win.
27:58To prove that he is still one of the best, most skilled mixed martial arts athletes in the world.
28:03Nice.
28:04Holloway, I faced him before.
28:06Took many lessons.
28:07From that beating I gave him.
28:09Onward in his career.
28:11And then went on and done great things.
28:12And now I love it because he's fought so many men.
28:15Yes!
28:17Ah, beautiful.
28:18And they've fought him a certain way.
28:20And it's gone a certain way.
28:21So now, returns McGregor to show once again the level and the difference.
28:28He's trained incredibly hard for this moment and the time is now.
28:32That's it.
28:33It's a masterpiece on July 11th.
28:35A McGregor masterpiece.
28:40And time.
28:42While the team at SBG remained focused on bringing McGregor back to his former glory, his opponent also remains with
28:50a tried and tested unit.
28:54Much has changed since Max Holloway first faced Conor McGregor.
28:58But one constant in his career has been his dedicated coaching team.
29:03With the rematch imminent, the stakes have been raised.
29:06And Team Holloway connect once more to prepare for yet another marquee moment.
29:15I've been with Rylan Lazarus my whole UFC career.
29:18Hey, he's tightening up off your initial combination, yeah?
29:21Make sure you faint real light with the initial combination.
29:25Angle out and then follow up.
29:28Ivan Flores came in.
29:29That's it, that's it.
29:30Darren Yap, I had in my whole UFC career.
29:33So being with these guys, I got nothing but love for all of them.
29:36There you are, use your levels.
29:38They helped me figure it out.
29:39They always told me there was going to be a time where I might outgrow them and I might have
29:43to look elsewhere,
29:44but now I'm blessed enough that I didn't.
29:46It's just a blessing to be with them.
29:49The next fight's going to be very interesting because it's like a blast from the past.
29:55As our team was formed, we fought Conor for the first time.
30:00Max! Blast!
30:02Offensive man, just work your stuff, work your entries, work your combinations.
30:06You guys are just flowing.
30:07We've all matured so much through these years.
30:10Defensive man, just kind of keep them honest, give them a look.
30:13And I think it's going to be a fun fight.
30:16Conor is Conor.
30:18He's amazing at what he does.
30:20Be elusive.
30:22And Max is also amazing at what he does.
30:24I think the pressure's a little bit more on Conor coming off of this layoff.
30:29But to me, the matchup is great because Conor is primarily a striker.
30:34Look for some sort of dominant control.
30:36And Max is going to go in and do what he's always done.
30:39Don't sneeze, you got to get out of there.
30:41We're going to see two guys at their best.
30:43Peak condition, peak performance.
30:45I'm looking forward to seeing what Max can do all these years later.
30:50It's going to be something big, I think.
30:53Find a spot where you can do damage.
30:55I'm going in there thinking that I'm getting the best Conor McGregor we can see.
31:00After a long hiatus, he wants to come back with a bang.
31:03Go active, man.
31:04Draw the Conor.
31:05You had five years to chill and not beat down your body.
31:09And I feel like Conor's coming back because he just got something to prove to himself.
31:13Let's go.
31:14Positioning.
31:15Positioning.
31:15He didn't really check the box on MMA yet, you know?
31:19Yeah, he did some great things, but he has some unfinished business.
31:23He's like, look, I got a couple more years and I want to do it.
31:26Final dominant angle.
31:28But the part is, you got to see me first.
31:31Finishing up strong.
31:32I feel like I'm going to go in there, have my way with him, get in his face and do
31:36what I'm known for.
31:38My ball is striking, my cardio, and I'm going to get a finish in spectacular fashion.
31:44Wait on three.
31:45One, two, three.
31:46Wait ahead.
32:00UFC 329 headliner Conor McGregor carries a tremendous amount of pride for the city that forged him.
32:06In recent years, the former two-division UFC champion has focused his efforts in giving back to the community
32:12that supported him on the way to becoming a global superstar.
32:22My old neighborhood is still my neighborhood. Dublin 12.
32:25All right, lads.
32:27Your pa.
32:28Home to my mixed martial arts gym.
32:30Home to my public house.
32:32And home to my boxing club.
32:36Crumlin boxing club is around a long, long time. About 70 years. It has a great tradition.
32:42All the champions, as you see on the wall, have been here at one time or another.
32:46The most famous fighter in the gym, Conor McGregor.
32:50We had him here since he was 10 years of age.
32:53His mother's father brought him down.
32:54Little blondie kid.
32:55He started punching the bag in his bare knuckles.
32:58The following weekend he wanted to join, and the story goes from there.
33:03He's the martial arts, Muhammad Ali. You know what I mean? He's famous everywhere.
33:07You know what I mean?
33:08Nice to meet you, man. Thanks a lot.
33:10Fresh air.
33:10But he still wants to support the community.
33:13Come on, boss. Come on. Come on, boy. Come on.
33:16Conor is one of the most generous men around.
33:18You know what I mean? Use that strength. Use that strength that's inside you.
33:23Lay your head down. We say tomorrow's gonna be a good day.
33:25When we wake up the next day, it's a good day of your head, yeah?
33:29He loves the club. He walks in here.
33:33Cocky his auntie, still the same, hand up, but he's proud.
33:37He's proud when he walks in here. This is where he came from.
33:43His suits and boots us up every year.
33:46The ring behind me he bought.
33:48He's supposed to be building up two stories, making the gym bigger.
33:52He does so many good things.
33:54If you're around him, you know, you just want him to do good.
33:57He does good, we all do good.
33:58That's what he wants.
34:00That's the type of person he is.
34:02How are you, darling?
34:04We're here, smash it, come up on your left.
34:05We'll do, we'll do.
34:11I still have a very close relationship with my neighbourhood.
34:15Many avenues to support the community there.
34:21This is my life, and I love it.
34:27We're in the greatest, most famous Irish pub in all the world.
34:31The Black 4G in Dublin 12.
34:36The food, the drinks are flowing, music is flowing, everything's going well.
34:40Life is good.
34:43How it even began was I was trying to get into the place.
34:47I was only a young boy putting it in.
34:49So I had to kind of sweet talk the former owner who works for me now, Liam.
34:54I was like, I'm going to buy this one day, we're going to do this, we're going to do that.
34:58Ah, go on ahead, son. Go on, you can go in and have a little buzz, and then I'll be
35:01running around having a bit of fun in the pub.
35:03Obviously, lad, yeah.
35:05It came to fruition. I'd done what I said I was going to do.
35:09I came back and I bought the pub.
35:12Renovated it, built it up.
35:14We say this pub has heart and soul.
35:16It's a great service to the community, it brings many tourists here to this great area.
35:21I'm very happy with it.
35:23I have always celebrated my surroundings, where I came from.
35:28Amen.
35:29I never thought I must go away to develop my skills.
35:33I always believed in what I was doing here.
35:35And it's still the same, I'm still rocking around the way.
35:41I take great inspiration from the many hard-working men and women across this island.
35:46I fight for them.
35:50And it is an honour to do so.
35:52To grow up in Ireland, it's a blessing from God himself.
35:56And I thank him every day for it.
36:00Come on, just back, baby.
36:08The Hawaiian Islands have been a constant source of inspiration and motivation throughout Max Holloway's career.
36:15And the balance they provide...
36:21...remains an essential part of the success.
36:24Training camp can get annoying.
36:25I can't cut chicken and steak.
36:28I always look forward to the rest days, especially when we're having family days with our extended Ohana.
36:33We're on the best side, the west side of Oahu.
36:37Lovely Waianae.
36:38Here with the family, barbecuing.
36:40Don't miss my neck.
36:41I don't like my neck burning.
36:43Yeah, don't slap my neck either.
36:45Thank you.
36:46Yeah, yeah.
36:46This is the beach that we've been coming through since I was a little kid.
36:50Thank you, Heavenly Father.
36:50Just bless food.
36:51Bless everybody around here.
36:52Let's have a good day.
36:54And, Heavenly Father, in the name we pray.
36:56Amen.
36:56Amen.
36:57Being here with my family when I was a little kid now, to share this with my family now as
37:02I'm an adult.
37:03With my own kid.
37:04And with my nieces and nephews.
37:06It's a blessing.
37:15I like to get more culture on my Hawaii side.
37:18We got to go throw some net.
37:22We got some fish.
37:23Our fish, they got them.
37:25There he is.
37:27We got to try the raw uni right from the sea.
37:31So good.
37:32So good.
37:34We got to hang out with my son and see this.
37:36He wants to learn.
37:37So he got great uncles to teach him, which is great.
37:42You can never ask for better days, you know, than hanging with the family all day.
37:51I love it, man.
37:55Hawaii is special.
37:56The part of the island, Waianae, is very special to me.
37:59I hold dear to my heart.
38:01It's amazing.
38:02I love this place and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
38:07As one of Hawaii's most accomplished sporting heroes, Holloway's love for his homeland has driven a commitment to uplift the
38:14community through countless charitable endeavors and initiatives across the islands.
38:21Are you seeing the blessing too?
38:23Yes, sir.
38:24Max Allen Foundation.
38:26The foundation is about helping kids in need in Hawaii.
38:29What's up?
38:30Right now I work with the Boys and Girls Club.
38:32I train at Westside Striking that's also a non-profit and a bunch of the proceeds would be going to
38:37them and helping the gym out.
38:38Hi guys, I hope you're on staff.
38:41I'm blessed in a great way.
38:44UFC helped out a lot with a lot of these foundation stuff that we did.
38:47What's up?
38:48Hi man, I'm losing.
38:49Glad you.
38:50Dana White and the UFC, they put my name on it too.
38:54We donated a million dollars worth of homes to the Maui Fires, which was like truly close to me.
39:01Max is beloved here and he's always first to jump in for anything for Hawaii.
39:08We're opening up a gym here for the kids.
39:10I'm super excited.
39:12With the Boys and Girls Club, they made a gym in my name.
39:16Welcome to the new Max Holloway Fitness Center.
39:20Woohoo!
39:22One, two.
39:23That was amazing.
39:24There you go.
39:25Let's go.
39:26Oh my God.
39:27What's up?
39:28Oh.
39:30Hey, not strong.
39:31Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta.
39:32There it is.
39:34This is just the beginning.
39:35We got a lot more work to do.
39:36One, two, three.
39:37Win!
39:37There you go.
39:39There we go.
39:53The UFC 329 main event will be contested at 170 pounds.
39:59As a former belt holder at featherweight and lightweight, Max Holloway and his team now focus
40:05on preparing his body for the welterweight debut.
40:08Let's go.
40:09I only go 10.
40:12Max and I met when he was 18, 19 years old.
40:15At that time, he was just walking around at 145.
40:18Didn't need to cut weight.
40:20Toes up, huh?
40:21Toes up.
40:22So we put him on a strength training program, getting him some muscle on him.
40:26And over the course of his career, we got him up to fighting at 155.
40:31You can get that leg up higher.
40:33He's still more of a volume striker, but as he increased the weight classes, just that
40:38posture, we've been able to put a little bit more power behind those punches.
40:41He has put on a significant amount of muscle.
40:44You can see it in his frame.
40:45Max said, I'm a gladiator.
40:47Gladiators didn't walk around with a scale saying, what do you weigh?
40:50What do you weigh?
40:51Because if we weigh the same, we can fight.
40:53And now we're here at 170.
40:57For Conor, we're just trying to be fast.
40:59Use that line as your guide.
41:02Be stable.
41:02We're just trying to make sure that we're durable to handle the power that he brings.
41:09Conor always comes to fight.
41:11It's going to be a good old fashioned strap.
41:14That's exactly the kind of fights Max likes to take.
41:19Easy money.
41:32We are in the greatest club in the world.
41:35The birthplace of the champion.
41:38The school of excellence.
41:40Crumlin Boxing Club.
41:42Dublin 12.
41:43Where I learned how to box.
41:46We're here putting the work in.
41:49Rounds on rounds.
41:51Fast paced.
41:52Hard paced.
41:53Focused.
41:55Specific for the opponent.
41:59Boxingad.
41:59Tonight's training session.
42:01The goal is to focus on speed.
42:03Again.
42:04One.
42:04Accuracy.
42:05And sharpening up skills.
42:08Seconds out.
42:14We've done a great training session.
42:1612 rounds.
42:17High pace.
42:18Sprint rounds thereafter to finish.
42:21Conor's in fantastic shape.
42:23I've never seen him look so good before.
42:25Combining Conor's accuracy with the power that he has now.
42:29He's unstoppable.
42:30Round two.
42:31I am of the belief that there is no such thing as talent.
42:34What I possess.
42:35This is not talent.
42:37If you put in the time.
42:39You will reach your target.
42:42And that's it.
42:43I'm not talented.
42:44I'm obsessed.
42:45Round five.
42:46Conor doesn't have to do this.
42:48He wants to do it.
42:49You do this because you love this.
42:52Round seven.
42:56Round eight.
42:59I'm a lot more experienced.
43:01But as well as that, I'm a lot more skilled in all of the facets of martial arts.
43:06Round nine.
43:12Round ten.
43:12Now refocused.
43:15And back to what he wants.
43:16To regain his position at the top of the heap.
43:19You do not want to be anywhere inside that octagon with me.
43:24I am dangerous everywhere.
43:27He possesses power, diverse movement and skills.
43:31I can knock you unconscious from everywhere inside that octagon.
43:34And that is what I plan to do.
43:36And time.
43:42Feeling good?
43:45I feel amazing.
43:46Yeah.
43:48It is a different animal entirely that is in front of Max Holloway here.
43:54And he's going to feel every bit of it.
43:56Sprint round six.
43:58Final round.
43:59Conor McGregor when he's on the joint, when he's at his best, is one of the greatest of all time.
44:04Ten seconds.
44:06Keep it going.
44:09Keep it going boys.
44:10Keep it going.
44:11Four.
44:11Three.
44:12Two.
44:13One.
44:14And time.
44:19The magic is in your reading Conor.
44:21Get them shots across.
44:23With your ability to make someone miss, it's going to be courtless.
44:26You know what I mean?
44:27And you have that ability.
44:29And you're never going to lose that.
44:31You have the ability to make people miss.
44:33Combinations will come in your mind then.
44:35You know what I mean?
44:36McGregor's expectation of a striking heavy matchup is mirrored by Max Holloway.
44:45The Hawaiian has built a career off his fan-friendly style and ability to rise to the occasion in the
44:52sport's biggest moments.
44:55He's willing to go through the fire.
44:58He's been fighting main events and title fights for the last decade.
45:04When we prepare for the best version of every opponent, when we prepare for worst case scenarios, that's where our
45:09confidence comes from.
45:10We're ready.
45:13Conor brings a lot to the table.
45:14He's crafty, he's got some tricks up his sleeve.
45:16But I fully expect him to move forward.
45:18I fully expect him to be a weight bully.
45:21I fully expect him to try to line Max up like he does everyone else.
45:25He's had incredible success with it.
45:26I don't think he's going to change that part.
45:28But I think we match up really, really well this time.
45:32I think Max was just a kid.
45:33Last time they fought.
45:34And I think we have so much more tools.
45:36So much more weapons.
45:38Conor's an incredible softball.
45:40But Max can fight from both stances.
45:42So I think we're going to see a very dynamic Max at night.
45:44And I think Max takes him to deep water.
45:46And Max is going to sleep in.
45:49Ten seconds.
45:51Get set.
45:52Three, two, one, go!
45:54Good, Max.
45:55That's it.
45:55You mean, you mean.
45:56This is a recipe for fireworks, man.
45:59You already know what you're going to get when I'm in there fighting.
46:02I love striking.
46:03I'm going to go out there and make a masterpiece.
46:06Get a finish.
46:07And if not, just absolutely dominate the fight.
46:11You know what Conor wants.
46:13He wants a big finish.
46:15Flashy kill.
46:17Good, keep breaking down.
46:18He's a flashy fighter.
46:20Good, buddy. Good.
46:21And I'm looking forward to the challenge.
46:36People are going to go crazy for the return of Conor McGregor.
46:39The sport of mixed martial arts is better when Conor McGregor is involved.
46:43I'm excited.
46:44There's a lot of unanswered questions on how he's going to look on his comeback.
46:47My return to combat sport will be a colossal event.
46:52Conor McGregor doing what he does.
46:54Due to what's at stake.
46:55Due to what has transpired.
46:57And to what can be.
46:59Conor McGregor announces his return.
47:01Max is my child.
47:03I sunned him.
47:05I'm going to go in and sun him again.
47:07He's going to have to knock Max out.
47:09I'm going to come out of this belt unscathed and in all glory.
47:13Oh, he tagged him on the left.
47:14I see this fight playing out masterfully.
47:17And a knockout.
47:19Oh, he slapped him.
47:21Conor's in a league of greatness on his own.
47:24One thing that Conor has is power.
47:25And there's no fight like a McGregor fight.
47:28So bring it on, baby.
47:29Holloway going off late.
47:31Oh!
47:32That's a real warrior.
47:33He's going to be looking for a KO finish.
47:35So am I.
47:37Oh!
47:38That's it!
47:38Max Holloway guarantees that he's going to put it on Conor McGregor.
47:41The beautiful thing is we get to find out when we step in there.
47:45This is a different Max Holloway from 2013.
47:48Holloway sending a message.
47:50July 11th.
47:51I'm going to go out there.
47:52We got a spectacular KO.
47:53Oh!
47:54That'll do it!
47:55In front of my Hawaiian, St. Island.
47:57It's going to be one hell of a night.
47:58I'm going to flip your face over and over again.
48:03On July 11th.
48:05Former adversaries once again square off in the ultimate proving ground.
48:09For Dublin's old and notorious Conor McGregor.
48:13Goes toe-to-toe with the pride of Hawaii.
48:15Max blessed Holloway.
48:17I gotta say, I'm him!
48:19I'm him, guys!
48:20The Octagon returns to the fight capital of the world.
48:24For UFC 329.
48:26The King is back!
48:28Yeah!
48:28It isn't and he is coming for us, but we are a big man!
48:28Damn Damn!
