00:00Hello everyone, this is William Chambers. It is good to be here once again with you all
00:06just talking about the Word of God, becoming students of the Word of God, loving the Word
00:12of God. Let us dive into what I'm talking about today. Today, if I had a title for what I
00:17was
00:18talking about today, I would call it, Do It Even If It Doesn't Work. Oh, what am I talking about
00:28today? I'm talking about obey God, even if it doesn't work. Sometimes God calls us into situations
00:36that don't appear to us like they are working, but He still wants you to be faithful. Jeremiah
00:43was commanded to speak to people. God said already they would not listen. He told the people will not
00:51listen. All you're going to receive from there is silence, but I want you to speak anyway, Jeremiah.
00:55And this is where God told him to stay. God told Jeremiah, I want you to stay right here. I
01:02want
01:02you to live here. Oh, in the place where it does not seem like it's working.
01:10Ah, let's look at the text today. Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them,
01:16but they will not hearken to thee. Thou shalt also call unto them, but they will not answer thee.
01:24God is giving Jeremiah an assignment, a personal assignment that he can't delegate out. This is
01:32for you, Jeremiah. And this assignment I'm giving you, you are supposed to do it regardless of the
01:39outcome, regardless of how it turns out. God told Jeremiah, I want you to speak all my words to them.
01:46And he said, I also want you to call unto them. Oh, they ain't going to hear you. They're not
01:51going
01:52to listen, but I want you to do it anyway. God did not say, speak if they listen. God did
01:59not say,
02:00I want you to call unto them if they are responding. God didn't say, I want you to continue this.
02:06If it
02:06appears to be working, God tells them up front, it's not going to appear like it's working. I want you
02:11to
02:11continue to do this anyway. What does that mean? Meaning that people's response, the audience's
02:19response is not a validation of the assignment. The assignment is still a valid one, even if you
02:28see results or not. Oh, even if it looks like nothing's changing, what I told you to do, I want
02:33you to be obedient. That's what God's telling Jeremiah. God sends Jeremiah into a situation where
02:39hearts are hardened, ears are closed. Nobody's paying attention to what he got to say. And the
02:46response will not come. They will not give you any feedback, just a straight face of silence.
02:52They are refusing to be submissive to what you're going to say. You're going to speak to a resistant
02:58audience, an unwilling audience. That's what you're going to get, Jeremiah. But I still call you to that.
03:06Oh, what do you do when God calls you to an assignment that seems foolish?
03:12Pray, you obey anyway. So sometimes we pay attention to numbers. If they seem to be listening,
03:20I want to feel effective. And when we're not seeing the numbers or if we see things that don't seem
03:25like
03:25they're changing, we don't feel effective. So we quit. We stop obeying God because it doesn't look like
03:31what we think it should. Oh, help us. God told you. God told Jeremiah that rejection, I'm telling you
03:38up front what you're going to go into and rejection is not a signal to stop. It's often part of
03:45the
03:45assignment. Rejection and being ignored is not a signal that you should quit this, Jeremiah. Not at
03:51all. Keep going. That's part of your assignment. Part of your assignment is to speak and they ignore
03:59you. Oh, that's part of the assignment. Oh, speaking, nobody's responding. Speaking, you ain't
04:05feeling validated. Oh, you have to trust in me above trusting in people's feedback. You're going to have
04:11to put your faith in me above putting your faith in people. When you put your faith in people, when
04:15they're responding, you'll keep going. But when they don't respond, you'll get discouraged. But if your
04:20faith is in God, you don't care if they respond or not. I'm not doing this for you. I didn't
04:25do
04:25this for the feedback in the first place. Don't put no likes on the post. It don't matter. Don't
04:30respond. It don't matter. I'm doing this because God sent me to do it. Not for you, but I'm doing
04:36this for God. Sometimes their silence is confirmation that you're doing the right thing. For Jeremiah,
04:43that says, oh, they're not speaking. God says y'all wasn't going to speak anyway. It don't even
04:47matter. Y'all not giving me no feedback. Y'all not responding. Nothing's changing. Well, God said
04:53this will happen. It's confirmation that you are in the right space. Jeremiah's success was not how
04:59many people listened. It was not how many people changed. It was not how many people responded.
05:05His success was, did he speak? Did he call? God told him to speak and call. And that's what your
05:14success is based off of. Are you speaking? Or are you calling? Heaven measures success
05:20different than earth do. Help us today. When you truly accept this, that the outcome is for God.
05:28I'm not supposed to worry about the outcome. I'm supposed to do what God told me to do.
05:32The outcome is not mine. When you truly accept this, the pressure lifts off of you.
05:37You become less frustrated with the call. And peace increases. I'm not supposed to worry about
05:45the outcome. I'm just doing this. Oh, praise be unto God. Now, what I want to say is,
05:52God sees differently than we do. Silence today does not define the future. God said that they will not
06:02answer the Jeremiah. They will not respond to the, but that don't mean in the future they won't hear
06:10his message and it won't come back to their mind. Oh, there's a difference. See, Jeremiah was called
06:16to plant seed. But see, there is a delay in between planting the seed and getting the crop.
06:25You may never see it, Jeremiah, but that crop might come out after you're gone.
06:29You were supposed to plant the seed. See, see, we think about right, right now, but God might be
06:36looking way into the future. Jeremiah was planting seed that he might not ever see grow.
06:45Oh, Lord, help me. God said there will be no answer to you, Jeremiah. They will not respond now,
06:52but that does not mean that you will have no impact at all.
06:57That don't mean that there will be no impact ever from what you're doing, Jeremiah. The very fact
07:02that we're reading the word of God right now, we're getting the words of Jeremiah. They had
07:07impact speaking to us. Even now, Jeremiah has been there for a very long time and we're reading them
07:13words right now. God said, God did not tell Jeremiah that they would never think about what
07:20you're saying. They might not do it now. He didn't say they will never remember those words that you
07:27spoke. Oh, God. He said he didn't say that they would never, ever, ever, ever, ever be affected by
07:33that. God is not a wasteful God. God had a reason. He knew what his word, his word does not
07:40return
07:41unto him void. This was a statement about timing. You ain't gonna see it in your timing. Oh, you gotta
07:46know that. I might not see it in my timing, but it may come out after I'm dead. Oh, God.
07:52God sends
07:53messages into the present that are sometimes meant to speak in the future. Have you ever had a message
08:02today? I remember getting a message when I was 15 years old. A preacher preached a sermon and I hate
08:07it.
08:07I didn't want to be in a church. I hated going to church, but that message speaks to me today.
08:14Oh,
08:14he said, keep a toehold on God, a toehold on God. And that message, keep a toehold on God. I
08:21didn't get
08:22it then, but I get it now. He was basically saying, don't get too far from God. Anyway, it spoke
08:28when I
08:29was 15, but I remember it and I'm 48 now. Sometimes God speaks a word now that's meant to speak
08:36to you in
08:36the future. His word works now in the present. It works in the past. It heals up in the past
08:45and
08:45it works in the future. God does not work like we work. Time has a way of softening us.
08:54God, God can work beyond what you can see. I want you to preach now, Jeremiah. I can work
09:02beyond what you can see. Just because you don't see movement now doesn't mean I am not working,
09:09Jeremiah. You may be speaking a word right now that'll echo, echo, echo, echo, echo, echo into the
09:16future. Oh, what I'm trying to say is even if it doesn't work, do your assignment even if, though it
09:23doesn't seem to be working. It don't seem to be working. Do it anyway. Dear Lord, help us to do
09:31what
09:31you called us to do. In Jesus' name we pray and say, Amen.
