00:00:00Edo State Governor, Monday Otpepolo has said the state government will set up special court for criminal proceedings in line
00:00:07with the existing laws for suspected secret cult members and kidnappers to be conducted within two or three weeks maximum,
00:00:14and if anyone is found guilty and sentenced to death accordingly, he will sign the death warrant and bring the
00:00:21condemned criminal or criminals to Popular Ring Road area in Benin City for public execution so that such action will
00:00:28serve as deterrent to others.
00:00:30The governor who probably have a good working relationship with one of the former governors of the state that started
00:00:36the recent execution of condemned criminals,
00:00:40Adams Oshomhole made this known on Thursday when he visited the headquarters of the Edo State Command of the Nigeria
00:00:46Police Force wherein some suspected kidnappers allegedly behind the shooting and abduction of a woman at a Popular Vegetable Market
00:00:54along Airport Road in Benin City last Sunday were paraded before the governor and the press.
00:01:00According to the governor, I will set up a special court to try cultists and kidnappers within two or three
00:01:06weeks and if found guilty, I would have no regret to sign their warrants.
00:01:10They would be executed at the Ring Road for others to learn a lesson, don't take my simplicity for granted,
00:01:16for the record, the last time death warrant was signed and condemned criminals executed in Edo State,
00:01:22took place around 6 a.m. on December 23, 2016, few weeks after the then governor of Edo State, Godwin
00:01:31Obaseki took over power and was then still in good working relationship with ex-governor Adam Zoshomhole.
00:01:37Three death row inmates were executed by hanging, namely, Ogbomero Omeregi, Apostle Ijean, and Mark Omisohotor and the execution took
00:01:47place at the Oko Prison of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
00:01:51The inmates had originally been sentenced to death by military tribunals under the robbery and firearms decree during the era
00:01:58of military rule in Nigeria.
00:02:00Godwin Obaseki carried out the executions despite condemnation from human rights groups, such as the Legal Defense and Assistance Project,
00:02:09led up, who thus petitioned the governor for a stay of execution, saying,
00:02:13These earmarked prisoners were sentenced by military tribunals under the robbery and firearms, special provisions, decree 1971 as amended, in
00:02:23which there was no right of appeal.
00:02:25We have filed an appeal pending at the Court of Lagos seeking order that these prisoners have right of appeal
00:02:31under the 1999 Constitution.
00:02:34Death penalty is not universally prohibited but the second optional protocol to the United Nations International Covenant on Civil and
00:02:42Political Rights on Prohibition of the Use of the Death Penalty
00:02:46asked state parties to amend their laws to abolish death as sentence for crime.
00:02:50Not all states have ratified the protocol, to sign a treaty does not bind the state until it is ratified,
00:02:58Nigeria has not signed it,
00:03:00it would be recalled that before the 2016 last execution of condemned criminals in the state,
00:03:06the immediate past and first execution in Edo state since Nigeria returned to democratic rule in 1999 occurred on June
00:03:1524, 2013,
00:03:17when former Governor Adams Oshiyomhole signed the warrants to hang four inmates,
00:03:23Chima Ejiofor, Daniel Insofa, Oseren Windu Aguokan, and Richard Aguagoo, at the Benin City Custodial Center along Sapole Road.
00:03:32The execution was the first in Nigeria since the last incident in 2006 after the then Kano state governor,
00:03:40Ibrahim Shekharau approved and carried out the execution of seven condemned criminals,
00:03:45Oshiyomhole action faced a lot of backlash from human rights community.
00:03:50Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice,
00:03:53Anege reiterated that the death penalty is an inhumane form of punishment and continued to advocate that Nigeria's laws should
00:04:01be amended to replace
00:04:02capital punishment with life imprisonment, even for high-level offenses like corruption,
00:04:08while Amnesty International declared the executions, a truly dark day for human rights in Nigeria,
00:04:14and criticized Oshiyomhole for ignoring the pending judicial appeal processes,
00:04:19this, other human rights organizations filed appeals and public campaigns,
00:04:24urging the Edo state government to halt the execution of the inmates because their legal options were not fully exhausted,
00:04:31but all to no avail as the condomined criminals were still executed,
00:04:36defending his action, the then governor Oshiyomhole said,
00:04:40I have no apologies because I did not sentence them to death, I am not the one who accused them.
00:04:45They were accused by those they harassed.
00:04:48They have been tried, they have taken advantage of the appellate courts all the way to the Supreme Court and
00:04:53they were found guilty,
00:04:54the law also says having been found guilty and sentenced to death,
00:04:58the governor could exercise prerogative of mercy, but I say that I have no mercy on those who kill.
00:05:04Why should you compel me to have mercy on those who kill?
00:05:07In this battle of values, we must not behave as if some other people's values are superior to ours.
00:05:13If you feel that those who kill in your country should have right to life and we believe in our
00:05:17country
00:05:18that those who kill should be killed and those are reflected in our laws,
00:05:21until you reverse those laws, those laws will apply,
00:05:25if you tell me that the man who killed has a right to life.
00:05:29I refuse that.
00:05:30Amnesty should not be hypocritical about it.
00:05:33We have the records worldwide,
00:05:35nations are governed by the national values and it is debatable whether those who excuse murderers in the eyes of
00:05:41God
00:05:41are better human beings than those who insist that if you kill,
00:05:45you too should be killed if found guilty of killing.
00:05:47I don't believe that those who want to excuse murderers are on a higher moral ground.
00:05:52It is not about conviction but about whether I choose to exercise prerogative of mercy.
00:05:58God can have mercy on them, but I am unable having regard to the overall circumstances of the case,
00:06:04which are killing and dismembering the body of the victim and wanting to sell some of the parts,
00:06:09and some people ask me in the name of human rights to let him live.
00:06:12If, no, if those saying that were to be victims of such brutality, they would also think otherwise,
00:06:18it is very convenient for them to sit in the comfort of their offices and pontificate about human rights,
00:06:24as if the rights of the victims are not supposed to be taken into account.
00:06:29Parading the suspects,
00:06:30the police said the woman kidnapped at the vegetable market was rescued
00:06:34but one of the suspects in a video confession said the woman was released after the family paid 8 million
00:06:40Naira's ransom.
00:06:41According to the suspect who identified himself as a 32-year-old marvelous Isaac from Aquarebomb State,
00:06:49the ransom money was shared among themselves and some parts given to leaders of a particular community around a Kenwin
00:06:56Road axis,
00:06:56saying, they gave some parts of the money to the community leaders because the community guns and bullets were parts
00:07:03of the weapons they used in carrying out the crime.
00:07:06Police said another suspect was killed during an exchange of gunfire with the security operatives.
00:07:12According to the police,
00:07:14items recovered from the suspects include a red Lexus ix 350 allegedly used for the operation,
00:07:21a pump-action shotgun, live cartridges, a motorcycle and over 2 million Naira suspected to be proceeds from the crime,
00:07:29including ransom paid by the victim's family.
00:07:32Adding,
00:07:33investigations are ongoing as efforts intensified to track down other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
00:07:39Governor Munday Okpebolo gave a cash reward estimated to be more than 10 million Nairas to the police offices that
00:07:46participated in the special.
00:07:48Operations,
00:07:49Verbatim,
00:07:51Governor Okpebolo said,
00:07:52Today at the Edo State Police Command Headquarters,
00:07:55I reaffirmed my administration's unwavering commitment to securing our state and protecting law-abiding citizens.
00:08:02Following the kidnapping incident at the vegetable market in Benin City,
00:08:07I directed security agencies to go after the perpetrators.
00:08:11I am pleased that one suspect has been arrested,
00:08:14another was neutralized during the operation,
00:08:16while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the gang.
00:08:21Let me be clear,
00:08:22Edo State will not be a safe haven for kidnappers, cultists, and other criminals.
00:08:27We are taking decisive steps to strengthen our justice system and ensure that anyone found guilty of these heinous crimes
00:08:35faces the full weight of the law.
00:08:37I also commended and rewarded the police officers whose professionalism and bravery led to the arrest of the suspect.
00:08:44Their dedication reflects the results we can achieve when government and security agencies work together with purpose.
00:08:51I urge all Edo people to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to security agencies.
00:08:59Together, we will make Edo safer, stronger, and more prosperous for everyone.
00:09:04In an earlier event, Governor Okpebolo said criminals in the state are the ones recruiting people from outside the state
00:09:11to come and commit crime in the state.
00:09:14Calling on members of the Christian community never to beg police to set free any SSO arrested for any kind
00:09:21of sime in the state.
00:09:23Yesterday, at the Christian Association of Nigeria, CON, Ministers Conference, in Benin City,
00:09:29I reiterated a message that remains central to our administration's agenda.
00:09:34The security of lives and property is non-negotiable.
00:09:37My administration is deploying every available resource and working closely with security agencies to ensure that criminal elements have no
00:09:45place in Edo state.
00:09:47Anyone found engaging in kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, or any other criminal activity will face the full weight of the
00:09:55law.
00:09:56However, security is not the responsibility of government alone.
00:10:00It is a collective duty.
00:10:03I urge all Edo people to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies.
00:10:08If you see something, say something.
00:10:11Timely information can help prevent crime and save lives.
00:10:15Together, we will continue to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Edo state for all, Governor Okpebolo stated.
00:10:24Now, we are going to set up a special court to try kidnappers and courtes.
00:10:31Within two weeks, three weeks, we are done with it.
00:10:35And I will sign it to execution.
00:10:38Hang in.
00:10:39I will take you to the roundabout.
00:10:42That is, we will run about so that the whole Edo people will see you.
00:10:47And this, I will not have any regret about it.
00:10:50So, please, don't take my security for granted.
00:10:56We are in the bush day and night to make sure that these criminals do not settle down in this
00:11:02state.
00:11:03We are arresting people every now and then.
00:11:06Even yesterday night, day before yesterday night, three nights ago, criminals have been arrested.
00:11:12But one thing is this.
00:11:14Our own people are also now getting involved.
00:11:17Thank you, sir.
00:11:17In Ekoma this morning, people that were arrested were not Fulanis.
00:11:22I told Rumi three nights ago, somebody that was arrested is never a Fulani man.
00:11:29Somebody in Eora, somebody that was arrested were never Fulani.
00:11:33But you know one funny thing is that our people will now go to the north to go and recruit
00:11:38people
00:11:38to come here to help them to do the job.
00:11:41They will kill somebody and give it to them in the bush.
00:11:44While tomorrow you will see them driving an expensive car.
00:11:47You will see them doing this.
00:11:49You will see them building houses.
00:11:52Pastors, I want to beg you in the name of God.
00:11:54Please, when you hear that, I guess somebody, don't come to beg me.
00:11:59Because our land must be safe.
00:12:00By the grace of God, a dome must be safe.
00:12:07The cartridge will not aid due to the operation.
00:12:09Do you remember when you were a kid?
00:12:10Yes.

00:13:19I don't want to forget.
00:13:20He won't ask you when he will go.
00:13:22When he goes for me today, God will give at me.
00:13:24Nobody will give at me.
00:13:27That's a boy.
00:13:29Okay, now he just gave at me.
00:13:31And they won't ask you.

00:23:37That the education you have for now, you will use it to accomplish what ways you know you can accomplish.
00:23:47That's a prayer for you guys.
00:23:49Amen.
00:23:49And we ask you to continue to remember your parents who went to hope to get you here.
00:23:56And God will not forgive you guys the power to do what you wish.
00:24:05And God will enrich you guys so that you can have your parents in the same way they did.
00:24:12Amen.
00:24:13All this we ask in the name of our Jesus Christ.
00:24:17Amen.
00:24:18Amen.
00:24:25And I'm grateful because I know this man.
00:24:28It's all that shit.
00:24:32And I'm grateful because I know this man.
00:24:35It's all that shit.
00:24:37And the one is the prayer for the Lord.

00:25:40Barely 48 hours after a serving police officer on May 25, 2026 at Uelu area of a
00:25:47Gidder Quarters in Benin City Tiergasa resident to death.
00:25:50Matthew Okubo, a tricycle rider who is also said to be an ex-police officer of an elderly
00:25:56age, a more devastating tragedy was apparently averted on May 27, 2026 at the Samuel Obamudia
00:26:04Stadium during the 2026 Children's Day celebration when some security operatives used pepper spray
00:26:11on school children who came for the celebration, an action capable of causing death.
00:26:17But the chief medical director, Edo Specialist Hospital, Dr. Anthony Njoku denied and dismissed
00:26:23the claims that about five children died as a result of the incident.
00:26:27And the Edo command of the Nigeria police force in a press statement failed to state if there
00:26:32was any death casualty or not, but stated that four persons including the seller of
00:26:37the pepper spray chemical substance have been arrested and detained in connection with the
00:26:42Children's Day incident, adding that, the policeman who caused the death of the tricycle rider has
00:26:48been in detention waiting to be arraigned for possible act of murder.
00:26:51This, our research study shows that the less lethal weapon of chemical substances like tear
00:26:57gas and pepper spray may be seen as an act of deliberate murder or attempted murder if used
00:27:03on a closed-range, enclosed environment like Hall, big or small because the chemical substances from
00:27:09our assessment are meant only to be used on a long-range open-air outdoor spaces where people
00:27:15have alternatives means to run and leave the contaminated areas and in line with global standards,
00:27:21targeted on the use of the chemical substances. Tear gas is never meant to be used on vulnerable
00:27:26populations or individuals with medical conditions, as international bodies like the United Nations
00:27:33Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, OHCHR and health organizations warn it can cause
00:27:39permanent injury, severe complications, or death. In addition, the chemical causes instant airway
00:27:46constriction that can trigger fatal respiratory failure in people with asthma or COPD.
00:27:52A severe risk that prompted the American Thoracic Society, ATS to call for a total moratorium on
00:27:58its use, because, simultaneously, the intense physical stress can induce cardiac arrest in those with
00:28:05heart disease. As documented by Physicians for Human Rights, PHR, and according to strict deployment
00:28:12standards from Amnesty International, infants and young children face significantly higher risks because
00:28:18their developing lungs breathe faster, and heavy gas vapors settle near the ground. Pregnant individuals
00:28:25face severe risks of premature labor or miscarriage, a danger highlighted in field reports by National
00:28:32Nurses United and Reproductive Toxicology data published by the National Institutes of Health, NIH. Also,
00:28:39the elderly suffer prolonged tissue damage due to a reduced physical ability to flee, and finally,
00:28:46the American Lung Association warns that people with eye conditions, especially contact lens wearers,
00:28:52can suffer chemical burns and permanent vision loss from trapped toxins. Though legally, while the Chemical
00:28:58Weapons Convention, CWC permits domestic law enforcement usage, the UN guidance on less
00:29:05lethal weapons explicitly dictates that police operations must give special consideration to
00:29:10these protected groups to avoid unlawful, disproportionate force. According to some
00:29:16residents who witnessed the incident, the commercial tricycle operator, Matthew Okubo was killed by the
00:29:22serving police officer at Osibor Lane around Uelu section in Aguida area of Benin City, the Edo state
00:29:28capital when the policemen allegedly used the tear gas on him at a very close range over a minor argument.
00:29:35The killing prompted the commercial tricycle operators, popularly known as Keke riders in the
00:29:41area to protest and block some sections of the Uelu road in the Aguida quarters, demanding justice for
00:29:47their slain colleague. It was gathered that the victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced
00:29:53dead thereafter. Edo state command of the Nigeria police force in a press statement issued on June 1,
00:30:002026 and made available by the command public relations officer, ASP Eno Akiodom stated that,
00:30:07the Edo state police command has expressed grave concern over the increasing proliferation,
00:30:13unauthorized possession, and unlawful use of restricted security accoutrements such as pepper spray,
00:30:19tear gas canisters, and other force-related equipment by private individuals, bouncers, vigilantes,
00:30:26and unauthorized security outfits within the state. It frowns on the use of such items without proper
00:30:32training, or regard for public safety, thereby endangering innocent lives and creating avoidable
00:30:38public disorder. It would be recalled that on the 25th of May 2026, a police officer attached to the
00:30:45command unlawfully discharged tear gas at Aguida, Benin City, an incident which unfortunately led to
00:30:51the loss of a life. The officer involved was immediately arrested and subjected to disciplinary
00:30:57and criminal procedures in line with extant laws. Similarly, on the 27th of May 2026, during the
00:31:05Children's Day celebration held at the Samuel Ogbamudia Stadium, Benin City, pepper spray was unlawfully
00:31:12discharged within the stadium premises by private bouncers, causing panic and affecting several
00:31:17children and other attendees at the event. Following diligent investigation into the incident,
00:31:23the command has arrested three bouncers connected to the unlawful act, namely, Afeni John Paul, aged 36 years,
00:31:31Ola Ibukunle, aged 46 years, Onaha Chukuoji, aged 33 years. Further investigation also led to the
00:31:41arrest of one Mrs. Rebecca Hassan, alleged to be the supplier, seller of the pepper spray used during the
00:31:48incident. The command views the unauthorized use of such devices as assault, or acts capable of causing
00:31:55grievous harm, and in certain circumstances, death. Consequently, unlawful possession of these items
00:32:02with intent to commit felony and other related offenses is viewed as criminal under the law.
00:32:07In view of the foregoing, the Edo State Police Command hereby issues a stern warning to all individuals,
00:32:14private security personnel, bouncers, vigilante groups, and unauthorized organizations in possession of
00:32:21pepper spray, tear gas, or related restricted security equipment to immediately desist from
00:32:27such unlawful possession and usage. Henceforth, any person found in possession of such prohibited or
00:32:33unauthorized police, security accoutrements, including sellers, distributors, and suppliers,
00:32:40will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly. The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command,
00:32:46CP Monday Agbonica, FDC, reassures residents that the command remains committed to protecting the
00:32:53rights of citizens and will not tolerate any act capable of threatening public peace and safety
00:32:58within the state. Meanwhile, on the Children's Day tragedy, the office of the Press Secretary to
00:33:04the Edo State Governor in a press release issued on May 28, 2026 and made available by Patrick
00:33:11Akira Ebajele, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, the Chief Medical Director, Edo Specialist
00:33:17Hospital, Dr. Antonia Njoku, has clarified the social media reports alleging that five pupils died
00:33:24during the Children's Day celebration at the Samuel Ogbamudia Stadium. Njoku made the clarification on
00:33:31Thursday in Benin, while addressing newsmen. Yesterday, May 27, we were called in for an emergency
00:33:38response and we responded swiftly and appropriately to some of the children which were evacuated by
00:33:43our ambulance to our facility. Resuscitation measures started immediately and to God be the glory,
00:33:50we have no casualty, the children are all stable and we want to thank our governor for his continuous
00:33:56support, she said. Speaking on why the children were seen on the floor of the hospital, Njoku explained
00:34:03that they placed them on the floor for an effective resuscitation which some of the children needed.
00:34:08You needed to put some of these children on hard surfaces to be able to resuscitate them,
00:34:13that's why we even have some of them on the floor, our goal at that point was to make sure
00:34:18that there was no casualty. We want to use this medium to thank our able governor for his passion
00:34:24for children, she added. In her response, the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady of Edo,
00:34:31Mrs. Edisili Opepolo Anani, noted that she was at the hospital on a fact-finding mission concerning
00:34:37the incident that happened during the Children's Day celebration.
00:34:41I have had a conversation with the CMD, the children are fine and they have been discharged and we are
00:34:47happy. I want to thank the management of the hospital for their swift response. The governor would
00:34:53have loved to be here, but he is out for other official engagements. He had directed that I should come
00:34:59on
00:34:59my fact-finding mission to see what is happening, she said. She, however, described what happened during
00:35:07the Children's Day celebration as unfortunate. But the good news was that response came fast,
00:35:12adding that safety of our children remains the priority of this administration. Also present at
00:35:18the hospital was the Special Advisor to the Governor on Health, Dr. Iyamu and the Permanent Secretary,
00:35:24Ministry of Education, Mrs. Ebermoni. In earlier press release issued on May 27, 2026,
00:35:32Ebergele stated that, the Edo state government wishes to address some misleading social media narratives
00:35:38about today's Children's Day incident at the Samuel Ogbamudia Stadium. We hereby reject the sensational
00:35:44interpretations, spins, twists, and misinformation that were dubiously orchestrated to give the
00:35:51government a bad name. The stadium was filled to capacity with thousands of excited children who
00:35:57came to participate in the day's activities. The turnout was unprecedented. All the entrances into
00:36:04the facility were opened for children to access the stadium. Some excited children resorted to unruly
00:36:10behavior at one of the gates, an incident that led to some kind of stampede which necessitated one of
00:36:16the bouncers to deploy the use of tear gas to disperse them. In the cause of the pandemonium that ensued,
00:36:23few students sustained injuries. The Deputy Governor, Right Honorable Dennis Idahosa who was physically present at the
00:36:30stadium, rose to the challenge immediately, assisting children with first aids, and those requiring further
00:36:37care were taken to the Edo specialist hospital where they received appropriate medical attention
00:36:42and are now safely back home with their families. The Edo state government has already authorized
00:36:47investigations into the incident while the bouncer involved is presently being interrogated by the
00:36:53police to ascertain the immediate or remote cause of the incident. The government wishes to
00:36:59restate its commitment to the safety and security of all including our children. We however call on
00:37:05social media users to refrain from unverified narratives that could cause unnecessary panic.
00:37:11Isolated incidents at large gatherings, while regrettable, do not diminish Governor Okpepolo's
00:37:17commitment to child safety and well-being. The Governor's unparalleled investment in education is
00:37:23the reason for the huge attendance by students of different schools in the state to celebrate
00:37:28Children's Day. We thank the security personnel, medical staff, and volunteers for their swift
00:37:35response and dedication to duty. Their immediate response helped to douse the tension. However, the
00:37:41American Lung Association in its report on January 20, 2026, stated in part that, crowd control agents,
00:37:50often referred to as, tear gas, are chemicals that cause skin, respiratory, and eye irritation. Some of the
00:37:58most common chemicals used are chloroestephenone, CN, which is a toxic air pollutant, chlorobenzididemolononitrile,
00:38:06CS, chloropicrin, PS, bromobenzocyanide, CA and debenzoxazapine, CR. While tear gas is typically
00:38:16perceived as causing mostly short-term health impacts, there is evidence of permanent disability
00:38:22in some cases. In general, exposure to tear gas can cause chest tightness, coughing, a choking
00:38:29sensation, wheezing and shortness of breath, in addition to a burning sensation in the eyes,
00:38:35mouth and nose, blurred vision and difficulty swallowing. Tear gas can also cause chemical burns,
00:38:41allergic reactions and respiratory distress. People with pre-existing respiratory conditions,
00:38:48such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD, have a higher risk of developing
00:38:54severe symptoms of the disease that could lead to respiratory failure. Long-term health effects
00:39:00from tear gas are more likely if exposed for a prolonged period or to a high dose while in an
00:39:05enclosed area. In these instances, it can lead to blindness, glaucoma or respiratory failure possibly
00:39:12resulting in death. If exposed to tear gas, the American Lung Association advises you to
00:39:18immediately distance yourself from the source and seek higher ground, if possible. Flush your eyes with
00:39:25water and use a gentle soap, such as baby shampoo, to wash your face to reduce skin and eye irritation.
00:39:31Cut your clothes off rather than pulling them over your head to remove. Leaving the area immediately
00:39:37for fresh air should help relieve respiratory symptoms you may experience. If you are living
00:39:43with chronic lung disease, or are experiencing lasting or worrisome symptoms, let your healthcare provider
00:39:49know about your exposure. If breathing trouble persists or worsens, seek medical attention immediately.
00:40:03BORNO State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulam may have given a clearer picture and addressed some
00:40:10fundamental issues in the press release issued by the Nigerian Army on Saturday that caused mixed
00:40:16reactions among members of the public, especially BORNO youths under the umbrella body of BORNO South Youth
00:40:22Alliance. Bosya who had condemned the military for saying in the press release that its men rescued
00:40:28360 out of the 416 women and children held hostage by the Boko Haram terrorists based on intelligence
00:40:37driven efforts that made the terrorists to flee and abandoned their victims upon citing the superior
00:40:44power of the men of the armed forces of Nigeria, AFN, with some of the terrorists arrested, but,
00:40:51the state governor, Babagana Zulam while speaking during his assessment visit to pulka community on
00:40:57Monday, said, 434 victims out of the total numbers of people kidnapped early this year in
00:41:04Ingosh community by the Boko Haram terrorists have regained freedom, specifically stating that,
00:41:11357 captives walked free in the latest coordinated effort, other captives have been released in phases
00:41:17over the preceding months, bringing the total number of freed captives to 434. This, we have reported the
00:41:25youths in BORNO state under the umbrella body of BORNO South Youth Alliance. Bosya has insisted that the
00:41:31federal government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tanubu did nothing to secure the
00:41:38release of the 416 women and children held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists for more than 90 days they
00:41:46were taken into the bush since March 2026. Also, the youth group dismissed and rejected the report of
00:41:53the Nigerian army who had alleged that its men rescued 360 out of the 416 people held hostage through
00:42:02intelligent driven efforts, saying, they have an audio record of the conversation they had with the Boko
00:42:08Haram terrorists on Friday June 5, 2026 before the Boko Haram terrorists decided to release the
00:42:16captives willingly, adding, if they paid ransom, they should come out and tell Nigerians. Which we have
00:42:22the full details if ransoms was paid or not. As Senator Ali Ndume automatically started thanking President
00:42:29Bola Ahmed Tanubu, is there something Nigerians need to know that is hidden? It may be recalled that we have
00:42:36reported that barely a day after President Donald Trump of the United States of America, the USA
00:42:42announced the killing of Abu Bilal al-Minuki, the second in command of the Islamic State in Iraq and
00:42:48Syria. ISIS in a joint operation with Nigeria soldiers in Borno state. A new video of the abducted 416
00:42:57women and children in Boko Haram captivity has been released in addition to a gory video earlier
00:43:03released by the terrorists wherein they beheaded almost six men who the insurgents said tried to
00:43:09escape among the kidnapped victims. This had led to public outcry and demonstrations. But according to
00:43:15Punch newspaper, protesters are reportedly denied the rights to protest in Madaguri, the Borno state
00:43:21capital, saying, the army reportedly deployed tanks and heavily armed personnel to filling Polo,
00:43:27the venue of the recent planned protest, forcing the demonstrators to withdraw, quoting Samayla
00:43:33Kaigama, leader of the protesters, as saying, the atmosphere created by the military deployment made
00:43:40it impossible for citizens to continue with the demonstration that the development is deeply
00:43:45disturbing in a constitutional democracy. It may also be recalled that we had reported that President
00:43:51Bola Ahmed Tanubu of Nigeria may have kept mute since more than 48 hours a faction of the
00:43:57Boko Haram terrorists showed off 416 people mostly women and children kidnapped and held hostage when the
00:44:05members of the Jumatu Ali Sana Lidawati Wal Jihad, JAZ, launched a large-scale combat actions between 4th to
00:44:13the 6th of March 2026 against the men of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, AFN, overran the Africa country military
00:44:23base
00:44:23at Ingosh, killing several soldiers, a figure the Nigeria authority disputed to be 14 after several
00:44:30reports indicated that more than 40 soldiers were killed during the attack, in addition to more than
00:44:36100 civilians including Chief Iman of Ingosh alongside the community elders killed during the coordinated
00:44:43attacks that lasted days at Ingosh community in Guoza local government area of Borno state, this, during the
00:44:51attacks, numbers of people were also taken hostage by the insurgents, with speculations indicating that
00:44:57the hostages are apparently being held at the rugged terrain of the Mandara mountains, which sit wide
00:45:03across the Nigeria border with Cameroon, in the released video, one of the spokespersons of the Boko Haram
00:45:10group said they decided to release a proof of life video of the 416 women and children in their captivity,
00:45:16following the demands made across to them by the Borno South Youths Alliance, BOSYA, and according to the
00:45:24statement issued by the Bosya when they made the video public on Friday April 10, 2026, the youths group
00:45:32called on federal government and governments at all level to ensure the hostages are released, saying
00:45:37specifically that, we have witnessed cases in states such as Sokito, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kelly where
00:45:44abducted victims regained freedom following interventions by individuals such as Sheikh Ahmad Gumi,
00:45:51we therefore expect equal urgency and commitment in addressing the plight of the Ingosh victims.
00:45:57No region or group of citizens should be treated with less priority.
00:46:01Dauda Aliya, the spokesperson and media advisor to the Borno state governor, in a news release he issued
00:46:07and made available some hours ago, said the, Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulam,
00:46:14has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tanubu for his role in securing the freedom of 434 residents of Ingosh
00:46:22community, who were abducted over a year ago during a violent raid on the town. Speaking in Pulka on
00:46:28Monday, Governor Zulam confirmed that the latest release comprises 357 persons, while approximately 82
00:46:36others had regained their freedom spontaneously in smaller batches over the period since their
00:46:41abduction. The victims were originally taken from Ingosh, a border town in Duos, a local government
00:46:48area of Borno state, following an attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents early this year. Zulam
00:46:55particularly praised President Tanubu for his personal intervention and commitment towards restoring
00:47:00peace, which he said accelerated the negotiation and rescue process.
00:47:04I want to express my deepest appreciation, on behalf of the government and people of Borno state and
00:47:11Guoza community in particular, to the President and Commander in Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces,
00:47:17Bola Ahmed Tanubu, for all the efforts that he has been making in ensuring the return of peace and
00:47:23stability not only to Borno state but to the entire country, Zulam stated. Zulam also extended
00:47:30commendations to the Nigerian military, the Department of State Services, DSS, and all other security
00:47:36agencies involved in the operation, acknowledging their professionalism and coordination.
00:47:42I also want to use this opportunity to commend the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Office of the National
00:47:48Security Advisor, the Department of State Security and all other security agencies, including our gallant
00:47:55civilian JTF, forest guards, vigilante and hunters, who have participated immensely in ensuring the
00:48:02release of these abducted men, women and children, Zulam added. He explained that while 357 captives
00:48:10walked free in the latest coordinated effort, other captives had been released in phases over the
00:48:16preceding months, bringing the total number of freed captives to 434. We are here to felicitate with
00:48:23Ingosh community following, the release of the abducted women and children numbering about 434.
00:48:30What we saw this morning is about 360 released two days ago. But some two to three weeks ago,
00:48:38we also received about other persons, totaling about 434, Zulam explained.
00:48:44According to the governor, government has released millions of Naira to rehabilitate the Ingosh community.
00:48:51So far, the work is nearly complete. We are also interfacing with the community about their return to
00:48:57Ingosh. Those that are willing to return, we are working with the Nigerian military to establish
00:49:03institutional arrangements that will ensure their safe and dignified return. Zulam also directed the
00:49:09distribution of relief materials, comprising food and non-food items, to all the released
00:49:15persons as part of the immediate intervention. The rescued individuals are currently receiving
00:49:21medical and psychological support in a government facility, after which they will be reintegrated
00:49:26into their communities. It would be recalled that the Nigerian army in a press statement titled,
00:49:31Operation Haddonkai executes unprecedented intelligence-led rescue operation,
00:49:37freeze 360 abductees from jazz stronghold in the Mandara mountains, had stated that,
00:49:43in one of the most significant hostage rescue operations conducted in the Northeast Theater in
00:49:49recent times, troops of the Joint Task Force, Northeast, Operation Haddonkai, OPHK, comprising special
00:49:57forces and troops of Sector 1, have successfully rescued 360 abductees from a heavily fortified
00:50:04Jumatu Ali's Sala Lidawati wall jihad, jazz, enclave deep within the Mandara mountains area of
00:50:11southern Borno state. The operation, which was the culmination of weeks of painstaking intelligence
00:50:17preparation, covert reconnaissance, and operational planning, resulted in the safe recovery of men,
00:50:24women, and children who had been held in captivity under harsh conditions after being abducted from
00:50:30several communities, particularly within the Ingosh axis. The successful rescuer underscores the growing
00:50:36operational reach, intelligence dominance, and tactical superiority of OPHK in denying terrorists
00:50:43freedom of action and protecting vulnerable populations across the theater. The operation was
00:50:49initiated following the receipt of credible and corroborated intelligence from multiple
00:50:53sources indicating the precise location of the hostages and the existence of an elaborate
00:50:59insurgent support network sustaining the enclave. OPHK intelligence elements subsequently launched an
00:51:06extensive target development process involving the integration of human intelligence, human, signals
00:51:12intelligence, SIGINT, and persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, ISR, operations
00:51:19conducted through unmanned aerial systems and long-range reconnaissance patrols. Through sustained
00:51:25intelligence collection and analysis, commanders developed a comprehensive understanding of the
00:51:31terrain, insurgent disposition, defensive arrangements, movement patterns, and the condition of the abductees.
00:51:38This intelligence-driven approach enabled the force to accurately map the objective area,
00:51:43identify vulnerabilities within the terrorist network, and significantly reduce risks to the hostages during
00:51:50the rescue mission. A decisive breakthrough was achieved through the successful penetration of the
00:51:55terrorist network by carefully cultivated intelligence assets operating under the supervision of OPHK military
00:52:02intelligence personnel. These assets provided timely and actionable intelligence regarding the exact
00:52:09locations of the abductees, the disposition of insurgent commanders, internal security measures,
00:52:15and planned relocation routes. Simultaneously, carefully coordinated information and psychological
00:52:22operations created uncertainty and mistrust within the insurgent ranks, degrading their cohesion and disrupting.
00:52:29Command and control arrangements. The resulting intelligence advantage provided OPHK with unprecedented
00:52:36situational awareness and enabled commanders to shape the operational environment well before the
00:52:41commencement of the assault phase. Acting on confirmed intelligence, OPHK Special Forces and troops of
00:52:49Sector 1 launched a meticulously coordinated multi-axis operation designed to isolate the objective area,
00:52:56dominate key terrain, and prevent insurgent reinforcement or withdrawal. Supported by real-time ISR feeds,
00:53:03assault forces infiltrated the objective area under the cover of darkness while blocking forces established
00:53:09positions along likely escape routes. The operation achieved complete tactical surprise, overwhelming the
00:53:16terrorists before an organized response could be mounted. Faced with the speed, precision, and overwhelming
00:53:23combat power of the advancing troops, several insurgents abandoned their positions and fled into surrounding
00:53:29mountainous terrain, while others surrendered. The hostages were swiftly secured, medically screened,
00:53:36and evacuated from the objective area. Regrettably, two infants succumbed to exhaustion occasioned by the
00:53:42extremely challenging mountainous terrain and the hardships endured during the prolonged captivity.
00:53:48The remaining rescued abductees were successfully evacuated to safe locations for medical care and
00:53:54humanitarian support, marking a major operational success and a significant setback for the terrorist
00:54:00crew. The military high command has commended the courage, professionalism, and exceptional discipline
00:54:07displayed by all personnel involved in the operation. The military high command noted that the successful
00:54:13rescue of 360 abductees reflects the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations, the growing synergy among
00:54:20security stakeholders, and the unwavering resolve of the armed forces of Nigeria to protect innocent
00:54:26citizens and restore lasting peace to affected communities. The military high command further reassured the
00:54:33public that aggressive follow-on exploitation and clearance operations are ongoing to neutralize residual
00:54:39terrorist elements, dismantle remaining support networks, and prevent future abductions, the military stated as
00:54:46as well. The military was signed and made available by Lieutenant Colonel Haruna Sani, the acting media information
00:54:51officer. Joint Task Force, North East, Operation Haddon Kai, President of Borno South Youth Alliance,
00:54:59Samayla Kaigama had in a number of press releases refuted the claim that the 360 women and children were
00:55:06rescued, saying, he had an audio conversation with the Boko Haram terrorists on Friday and during the
00:55:12conversation, the Boko Haram terrorists agreed to set free the captives with some still held hostage,
00:55:18hoping to be released on later date.
00:55:28Youths in Borno State under the umbrella body of Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosnia has insisted that the
00:55:35federal government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tenubu did nothing to secure the
00:55:41release of the 416 women and children held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists for more than 90 days.
00:55:48They were taken into the bush since March 2026. Also, the youth group dismissed and rejected the
00:55:54report of the Nigerian Army who had alleged that its men rescued 360 out of the 416 people held hostage
00:56:04through intelligent-driven efforts, saying, they have an audio record of the conversation they had
00:56:10with the Boko Haram terrorists on Friday, June 5, 2026 before the Boko Haram terrorists decided to
00:56:17release the captives willingly, adding, if they paid ransom, they should come out and tell Nigerians,
00:56:23which we have the full details if ransoms was paid or not, as Senator Ali Ndume automatically started
00:56:30thanking President Bola Ahmed Tenubu. Is there something Nigerians need to know that is hidden?
00:56:35It may be recalled that we have reported that barely a day after President Donald Trump of the United
00:56:41States of America, the USA announced the killing of Abu Bilal al-Minuki, the second in command of the
00:56:48Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, ISIS in a joint operation with Nigeria soldiers in Borno State, a new video
00:56:55of
00:56:56the abducted 416 women and children in Boko Haram captivity has been released in addition to a
00:57:03gory video earlier released by the terrorists wherein they beheaded almost six men who the insurgents
00:57:09said tried to escape among the kidnapped victims. This had led to public outcry and demonstrations,
00:57:15but according to Punch newspaper, protesters are reportedly denied the rights to protest in Mediguri,
00:57:21the Borno State capital, saying, the army reportedly deployed tanks and heavily armed personnel to
00:57:27filling Polo, the venue of the recent planned protest, forcing the demonstrators to withdraw,
00:57:33quoting Samela Kaigama, leader of the protesters, as saying, the atmosphere created by the military
00:57:40deployment made it impossible for citizens to continue with the demonstration, that the development
00:57:46is deeply disturbing in a constitutional democracy. It may also be recalled that we had reported that
00:57:52President Bola Ahmed Tanubu of Nigeria may have kept mute since more than 48 hours a faction of the
00:57:59Boko Haram terrorists showed off 416 people mostly women and children kidnapped and held hostage when the
00:58:06members of the Jumatu Huali Sala Lidawati Wal Jihad launched a large-scale combat actions between 4th to
00:58:15the 6th of March 2026 against the men of the armed forces of Nigeria overran the Africa country military
00:58:23base at Ingosh, killing several soldiers, a figure the Nigeria authority disputed to be 14 after several
00:58:30reports indicated that more than 40 soldiers were killed during the attack, in addition to more than
00:58:36100 civilians including Chief Iman of Ingosh alongside the community elders killed during the coordinated
00:58:44attacks that lasted days of Ingosh community in Gwoza local government area of Borno state, this,
00:58:51during the attacks, numbers of people were also taken hostage by the insurgents, with speculations
00:58:57indicating that the hostages are apparently being held at the rugged terrain of the Mandara mountains,
00:59:02which sit wide across the Nigeria border with Cameroon, in the released video, one of the
00:59:08spokespersons of the Boko Haram group said they decided to release a proof-of-life video of the 416
00:59:15women and children in their captivity, following the demands made across to them by the Borno South Youths
00:59:21Alliance, Bosya, and according to the statement issued by the Bosya when they made the video public on
00:59:27Friday April 10, 2026, the youths group called on federal government and governments at all level
00:59:33to ensure the hostages are released, saying specifically that, we have witnessed cases in
00:59:39states such as Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebi where abducted victims regained freedom following
00:59:46interventions by individuals such as Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, we therefore expect equal urgency and commitment in
00:59:53addressing the plight of the Ingosh victims, no region or group of citizens should be treated with
00:59:58less priority. Nigerian army in a press release issued and made available on Saturday by Lieutenant
01:00:04Colonel Haruna Sani, the acting media information officer of Northeast Operation Hadankai Joint Task Force,
01:00:12said and in quotes that, in one of the most significant hostage rescue operations conducted in the
01:00:18Northeast Theater in recent times, troops of the Joint Task Force, Northeast, Operation Hadankai, OPHK,
01:00:27comprising special forces and troops of Sector 1, have successfully rescued 360 abductees from a heavily
01:00:34fortified Jumatu Ali's Sala Lidawati Wal Jihad, Jazz, enclave deep within the Mandara Mountains area of
01:00:41southern Borno State. The operation, which was the culmination of weeks of painstaking intelligence
01:00:47preparation, covered reconnaissance, and operational planning, resulted in the safe recovery of men,
01:00:54women, and children who had been held in captivity under harsh conditions after being abducted from
01:01:00several communities, particularly within the Ingosh axis. The successful rescuer underscores the growing
01:01:07operational reach, intelligence dominance, and tactical superiority of OPHK in denying terrorists
01:01:14freedom of action and protecting vulnerable populations across the theater. The operation
01:01:19was initiated following the receipt of credible and corroborated intelligence from multiple sources
01:01:24indicating the precise location of the hostages and the existence of an elaborate insurgent support
01:01:30network sustaining the enclave. OPHK intelligence elements subsequently launched an extensive target
01:01:37development process involving the integration of human intelligence, human, signals intelligence,
01:01:44SIGINT, and persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, ISR, operations conducted through
01:01:51unmanned aerial systems and long-range reconnaissance patrols. Through sustained intelligence collection and
01:01:57analysis, commanders developed a comprehensive understanding of the terrain, insurgent disposition,
01:02:03defensive arrangements, movement patterns, and the condition of the abductees. This intelligence-driven
01:02:10approach enabled the force to accurately map the objective area, identify vulnerabilities within the
01:02:16terrorist network, and significantly reduce risks to the hostages during the rescue mission. A decisive
01:02:23breakthrough was achieved through the successful penetration of the terrorist network by carefully cultivated
01:02:28intelligence assets operating under the supervision of OPHK military intelligence personnel. These assets provided
01:02:36timely and actionable intelligence regarding the exact locations of the abductees, the disposition of
01:02:42insurgent commanders, internal security measures, and planned relocation routes. Simultaneously,
01:02:49carefully coordinated information and psychological operations created uncertainty and mistrust within the
01:02:55insurgent ranks, degrading their cohesion and disrupting command and control arrangements. The resulting
01:03:02intelligence advantage provided OPHK with unprecedented situational awareness and enabled commanders to shape the
01:03:09operational environment well before the commencement of the assault phase. Acting on confirmed intelligence,
01:03:16OPHK Special Forces and troops of Sector 1 launched a meticulously coordinated multi-axis operation designed to isolate the
01:03:24objective area, dominate key terrain, and prevent insurgent reinforcement or withdrawal. Supported by real-time ISR feeds,
01:03:33assault forces infiltrated the objective area under the cover of darkness. While blocking forces established positions along likely escape routes,
01:03:43the operation achieved complete tactical surprise, overwhelming the terrorists before an organized response could be mounted.
01:03:49Faced with the speed, precision, and overwhelming combat power of the advancing troops, several insurgents
01:03:57abandoned their positions and fled into surrounding mountainous terrain, while others surrendered. The hostages were
01:04:04swiftly secured, medically screened, and evacuated from the objective area. Regrettably, two infants succumbed to exhaustion
01:04:12occasion by the extremely challenging mountainous terrain and the hardships endured during the prolonged captivity.
01:04:18The remaining rescued abductees were successfully evacuated to safe locations for medical care and humanitarian support,
01:04:26marking a major operational success and a significant setback for the terrorist group.
01:04:31The military high command has commended the courage, professionalism, and exceptional discipline displayed by
01:04:38all personnel involved in the operation. The military high command noted that the successful rescue of
01:04:44three hundred and sixty abductees reflects the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations,
01:04:49the growing synergy among security stakeholders, and the unwavering resolve of the armed forces of
01:04:55Nigeria to protect innocent citizens and restore lasting peace to affected communities.
01:05:00The military high command further reassured the public that aggressive follow-on exploitation and
01:05:06clearance operations are ongoing to neutralize residual terrorist elements, dismantle remaining support
01:05:12networks, and prevent future abductions, the Nigeria military statement ends in quotes.
01:05:18Immediately, the Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosya responded and said, Borno South Youth Alliance,
01:05:25Bosya, through its president brought, the issue of, the 416 women and children kidnapped by Boko Haram
01:05:33sometimes around March 2026 to like-light, put in every necessary bravery-related efforts and got his
01:05:40requests granted which one was to make a video, proof of life. At first they were not willing to
01:05:46negotiate or discuss but after extensive discussions and acknowledgement of our efforts towards the
01:05:51grassroots the Imam, top command, agreed and we had talks for weeks. Bosya will be releasing or has released
01:05:59voice notes of our final discussions which was done Friday 5th of June 2026 and Nigerians will clearly hear
01:06:06them admit the reasons they released them and how Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosya, President
01:06:11Samela Ibrahim Kaigama's efforts made them agree to release the kidnapped victims contrary to what
01:06:17some media outlets are carrying about a rescue or government voice and followers are claiming glory
01:06:22for our efforts. If they paid ransom, they should come out and tell Nigerians, which we have the full
01:06:29details if ransom was paid or not, as Senator Ali Ndume automatically started thanking President Bola Ahmed
01:06:35Tanubu, is there something Nigerians need to know that is hidden? Only Bosya president
01:06:41knows the hidden facts and hopefully he is ready to talk about some secrets that might shake Nigeria and
01:06:47possibly the world. In another press release, the group said the Borno South Youth Alliance, Bosya,
01:06:54is happy to announce to the general public that our cries, advocacy, and efforts regarding the
01:07:00Ingosh 416 women and children have begun to yield positive results. Yesterday, through the efforts of our
01:07:07President, Samela Ibrahim Kaigama, communications were held, and we were informed that most, if not all,
01:07:15of the victims would be released. As you read this message, that process has already begun. Before any
01:07:22politician or political personal assistants claim glory for this development, we will back our efforts with
01:07:28voice notes 24 hours plus before their release. Watch them claim glory for zero efforts. We are happy
01:07:35and grateful that, through our efforts, our persistent cries, and long discussions, the results are now being
01:07:42seen. The Bosya president has been a solid force behind these humanitarian mediations, negotiations,
01:07:50and discussions, and this is what leadership is about, standing for the people, speaking for the
01:07:55voiceless, and working tirelessly to save lives. To the Ingosh women and children who were released
01:08:01tonight, welcome home. Your return brings hope, joy, and relief to Southern Borno. We also call on the
01:08:10federal government, Borno state government, and the relevant local government authorities to properly screen.
01:08:22Lebanon is a sovereign country that has been a founding member of the United Nations since 1945, but,
01:08:30on several occasions, Israel has made an attempt to be in control of some areas of the sovereign nation,
01:08:36Lebanon, which is a small country of approximately 10,500 square kilometers, out of which,
01:08:44about 3,000 square kilometers are perhaps currently under the control and capture of Israeli armed
01:08:50forces since the state of Israel began the war of redemption in 2025, a military operation targeting
01:08:57Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon which the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu in a nationwide video
01:09:03broadcast on Sunday, said, over 8,000 Hezbollah fighters have been killed, ordered Israeli troops to expand
01:09:11more into Lebanon and commended men and women of the Israel Defense Forces of retaking or recapturing
01:09:17Beaufort, a 900-year-old castle city in Lebanon that perched on a high ridge overlooking the
01:09:23Latani River Valley with a good tactical and strategic military viewpoint over Southern Lebanon, the Western
01:09:30Beaker Valley and Northern Israel. The highly valued military fortress was previously occupied by Israel between
01:09:361982 and year 2000 and its reoccupation by Israel on Saturday night has triggered emergency United Nations
01:09:45Security Council meeting, according to the French Foreign Minister, Jean-Noel Barrett, France has called for
01:09:52emergency UN Security Council meeting over Israel expansion into more Lebanon's territory, stating to BFM TV
01:10:00news network on Sunday that while France recognizes Israel's right to self-defense, nothing can justify the
01:10:08continuation of Israeli military operations in Lebanon and its ever deeper occupation of Lebanese territory,
01:10:15and Israel Defense Forces, IDF in a statement on Sunday via its social media handles, said, these are photos
01:10:23from the precise IDF operation in the Beaufort Ridge and Wadi Saluki area in Southern Lebanon. IDF troops
01:10:31located weapons in the village of Zortar al-Shaki are further proof of Hezbollah's presence inside civilian areas
01:10:37in Southern Lebanon. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the nationwide broadcast said and in quotes that,
01:10:45last night, our heroic fighters captured the Beaufort Castle. They proudly raised the flag of the State of Israel and
01:10:52the
01:10:52flag of the Goluni Brigade there. I remind you that 44 years ago, this place was a symbol of a
01:10:59heroic
01:10:59battle by our fighters, but it was also a symbol of deep division among us. Today, we returned to Beaufort
01:11:06differently. We returned united, determined, and stronger than ever. I spoke with the fighters on the
01:11:13northern border on Friday. They told me, tell the people of Israel what we are doing here. Prime Minister,
01:11:20the public doesn't know what achievements we have made. Well, since the beginning of the War of
01:11:26Redemption we have eliminated 8000 Hezbollah terrorists. Since Operation Roaring Lion 3000,
01:11:33in the past month alone 700, this is more than everyone we eliminated during the Second Lebanon War.
01:11:40I have instructed the IDF to expand the incursion in Lebanon. Our forces have crossed the Latani River,
01:11:48they took dominant terrain, they captured the Beaufort Ridge, and now my instruction is to deepen and
01:11:54expand our hold on places that were under Hezbollah's control. The capture of Beaufort is a dramatic stage
01:12:01and a dramatic change in the policy we are leading. We have broken the barrier of fear, we are taking
01:12:07the
01:12:07initiative, we are operating on all fronts, in Syria, in Gaza, in Lebanon. We have established security
01:12:15zones beyond our borders to protect our communities. On Friday, I spoke with the brigade commanders,
01:12:22their daring brigade commanders, inside the territory, leading the heroic soldiers. And they told me,
01:12:29Prime Minister, we are carrying out the mission. We are charging forward, and Hezbollah is fleeing for
01:12:36its life. And I told them, I am with you. The entire nation of Israel is with you. It will
01:12:43take more
01:12:43time, but we will restore security to the residents of the North, just as we did for the residents of
01:12:49the South. It will take time, but we will complete the mission. Israel Defense Forces in a separate post
01:12:56on Sunday, stated that, the IDF launched an operation, beginning a few days ago, in the Beaufort Ridge and
01:13:03Wadi al-Saluki area in southern Lebanon in order to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, eliminate
01:13:09terrorists and remove direct threats to Israeli civilians. The operation is focused on establishing
01:13:15operational control of the Beaufort Ridge and the Wadi al-Saluki area, as well as degrading Hezbollah
01:13:22and dismantling terrorist infrastructure that was established on the ridge under Iranian direction.
01:13:27From Beaufort Ridge, Hezbollah terrorists managed military and combat activities and carried out
01:13:33numerous attacks. The IDF has crossed the Latani River and expanded its operations against Hezbollah
01:13:40targets north of the river. The operation is currently expanding to additional areas.
01:13:46It would be recalled that Lebanon got independence from France on November 22, 1943, and in an interview
01:13:53with BFMTV on Sunday, the French Foreign Affairs Minister, Jean Noël Barrett stated that,
01:13:59nothing can justify the prolongation of, Israel's, military operations in Lebanon and its increasingly
01:14:05deep occupation of Lebanese territory. This is a major mistake for Israel, he added. Barrett's
01:14:12statements come as the IDF confirmed it had taken control of Beaufort Castle in Lebanon, a position it
01:14:18had not held since withdrawing in May 2000. Beaufort was originally a French Crusader period castle in the
01:14:25region. In the same interview, Barrett also called for Iran and the US to reach a peace deal,
01:14:32describing the current situation as, untenable. We feel the consequences of the blockade of the
01:14:38Strait of Hormuz on a daily basis, at the pump, and more generally with its impact on the global economy
01:14:43and on the French economy. So this has to stop, he stated. He also said that, the planning work is
01:14:50advanced, regarding the mission to guarantee freedom of movement through the Strait of Hormuz.
01:15:03Information from the Office of the Special Advisor to the Nigerian President,
01:15:08Bayo Onanuga has shown apparent strong indications that the federal government under the leadership of
01:15:13President Bola Ahmed Tanubou may use the act of trumped-up allegation to harass, intimidate,
01:15:19arrest and detain one of the President anti-2027 re-election activists who is also the President
01:15:26and founder of the racial movements, Martins Vincent Otz aka Avery Duckman, following a widely
01:15:32circulated acclaimed Leap telephone voice record of President Bola Ahmed Tanubou wherein the President
01:15:38was portrayed to have made statements capable of causing anarchy in the country, instigating and
01:15:44inciting the people against the President in a manner that can collapse the government and cause
01:15:49uncontrollable deaths. This, the Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga seems to have wrongly or deliberately
01:15:57attributed the dissemination of the acclaimed Leap telephone voice record to Vareed Duckman in a
01:16:02tweet the Presidential spokesperson issued via X social media platform at about 11am on Wednesday
01:16:09morning, which, the Presidential spokesperson said, this VDM needs to face the weight of the law for
01:16:15being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tanubou, this is a clear case of an
01:16:21egregious abuse of the social media platform. A careful study of some news media reports over the
01:16:27acclaimed Leap telephone audio record, shows, some of the media attributed the dissemination and the
01:16:34origin of the acclaimed Leap telephone record to Vareed Duckman, but none of the media companies was
01:16:39able to satisfy the basic principles or standards of news writing and publishing, which requires the
01:16:45media companies to provide or state when and where Vareed Duckman disseminated such information,
01:16:51an action that shows there may be high-level conspiracy to arrest and keep the anti-government
01:16:57activist in a perpetual detention till after 2027 general elections with possible trumped-up
01:17:03allegations of treasonable count charges or alleged acts to endanger national security,
01:17:09for the purpose of clarity, trumped-up allegation, according to Cambridge Online Dictionary.
01:17:15It is an allegation that is, deliberately based on false information so that someone will be accused
01:17:20of doing something wrong and punished. Our investigation indicates that a video published
01:17:26by Vareed Duckman via his Instagram account on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 about President Bola Ahmed
01:17:33Tanubu 2023 pre-election campaign promises, wherein, the President had said if he does not give Nigerians
01:17:41stable power or electricity supply in his first four years in office, the people should not vote for him
01:17:47for the second time. The video published by Vareed Duckman while in China seems to be the one suspicious
01:17:53mischief makers altered and inserted the acclaimed Leap telephone voice record of President Bola Ahmed
01:18:00Tanubu to create apparent false and misleading information capable of causing anarchy in the country
01:18:06with obvious intention to give the government the opportunity to harass, intimidate, arrest and detain the
01:18:12anti-government activist, Vareed Duckman till after the 2027 general elections. Verbatim, in quotes,
01:18:20Sahara reporters reported that, the Nigerian presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, has lashed out at social media
01:18:27influencer, Martins Vincent Otz, popularly known as BDM, over the circulation of what he described as a fake
01:18:35audio recording purportedly linked to President Bola Tanubu, insisting that the matter should attract legal consequences.
01:18:42In a statement issued on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Onanuga accused VDM of abusing social media platforms
01:18:50through the dissemination of false information capable of misleading the public and damaging the
01:18:55image of the president. This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and
01:19:01disseminator of a fake audio of President Tanubu. This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social
01:19:08media platform, Onanuga stated. The controversy followed a video posted earlier by Martins Vincent Otz,
01:19:16also known as VDM, in which he claimed to have obtained an audio recording allegedly featuring
01:19:22President Tanubu speaking on the country's political situation, insecurity, and the 2027 elections.
01:19:30Introducing the recording in the video, VDM said,
01:19:33After this audio that I am about to play, I would ask if they cook Nigerians who will support Tanubu
01:19:39in
01:19:392027 or you guys are okay. The audio clip played in the video allegedly featured Tanubu making
01:19:47controversial remarks regarding attempts to remove him from office, insecurity in the southeast, and
01:19:53borrowing from the World Bank. In the purported recording, the voice alleged to be that of the
01:19:59president said, They have been trying to take me out of the position but it's not possible,
01:20:03mind you I am winning this election, I do not care whatever is happening, Nigerians deserve it.
01:20:10The voice in the audio further stated, Because when I was running as a president,
01:20:14they did not want me, now all of a sudden they want me to rescue them from insecurity.
01:20:20Another section of the recording allegedly quoted the president as saying,
01:20:24I called Peter Obi to step down for me but he refused. I am not begging him again, I will
01:20:31do
01:20:31whatsoever in my mind and I will make sure the insecurity affects the people in southeast more.
01:20:37The purported audio also contained comments about foreign loans and insecurity, claiming,
01:20:43Listen I am going to borrow more and more money from the World Bank, I won't like to stop this
01:20:49insecurity because if I do, how will our party be able to win elections, think about it, even the
01:20:56loans I am taking is to fund them. However, Onanuga dismissed the audio as fabricated and accused BDM of
01:21:04deliberately spreading falsehood. The presidential aide maintained that the circulation of manipulated or
01:21:10unverified materials on social media poses serious dangers to public trust, national security,
01:21:17and democratic stability. The presidency has not indicated whether legal proceedings would
01:21:23immediately be initiated against the social media influencer. Martin's Vincent is yet to also react to
01:21:30Bayo Onanuga's statement as of the time of filing this report. Sahara Reporter's news report ends in quotes.
01:21:37See this next video I am about to play. After you people watch it, we can't decide whether
01:21:42they don't cook your mind. They don't cook your mind or they don't cook your mind.
01:21:57They've been trying to take me out from the position but it's not possible. And mind you, I'm winning this
01:22:03election. I don't care whatever is happening. Nigeria deserves it. Because when I was running as a president,
01:22:11they didn't wanted me. Now all of a sudden, they want me to rescue them from insecurity.
01:22:21As of last week, I called Peter Obi to step down for me. Now I'm not begging him again. I
01:22:29will be
01:22:29whatsoever in my mind and I will make sure the insecurity affects people in South East more.
01:22:38Listen, I am going to borrow more and more and more money from World Bank. Try to understand me. I
01:22:44wouldn't like to stop this insecurity. Because if I do, how will our party be able to raise funds to
01:22:51win
01:22:51elections? Think about it. Even the loans I'm taking is to fund them. Also, I have a plan after I'm
01:22:58done
01:22:58with my position as a president. You are failed. So talking about jazz, except if they use jazz and even
01:23:04if they use jazz on Nigerians, time down to try to say you will tap yourself. You will go wash
01:23:09your body again,
01:23:09make you understand. Say, this man does not have anything to offer. Come 2027. Any other option
01:23:15is welcome. Well, for me, myself and I, for example, all of a meeting can not offer us anything anymore.
01:23:21So it should go. It should go. It should go. All of a meeting, boom. It should go. Listen,
01:23:27Lord, don't. I will talk on my mind. I will talk on my mind, bro. You don't get hurt. You
01:23:32don't get hurt.
01:23:33You see that team where you're the rear for neck, you're not the rear for neck, you're going to do
01:23:35anything.
01:23:36You're not the rear for it. You don't go put jazz for that. You're where the gold shrine. You don't
01:23:40go put jazz for your neck.
01:23:41All right. So talking about using jazz, I'm going to shrine. You see this next video I'm about to play.
01:23:47After you people watch it, we can't decide whether in a shrine they don't think cook on our mind.
01:23:52All the people who won't support Bola and Metinbu 2027, we can't know whether they don't cook your mind.
01:23:58So you don't go get sense or on a deal. Okay. Whichever whichever way by all means necessary
01:24:13you must have electricity. You must have electricity. Okay. And you will not pay for estimated B anymore.
01:24:32A promise made will be a promise kept. If I can't keep the promise and you
01:24:41and I come back for second time, don't fall for me.
01:24:48That's the truth. You heard him. This was when he was doing his campaign. He said a promise
01:24:55made will be a promise kept. If he does not give Nigerians electricity, after four years,
01:25:01they should not vote for him. So it's not like I'm campaigning against him. I am going,
01:25:05I am putting his words against him. So there's no way we don't have electricity. As a matter of fact,
01:25:10let me even show you. For the very first time, since the inception, since the creation of Nigeria,
01:25:17the creation of ASO ROG, for the very first time, as you can see, ASO ROG to exit national grid
01:25:23by March 2026.
01:25:27Then look at this one. ASO ROG opting for 10 billion nera solar questions presidents believe
01:25:32in national grid. So as of today, this was in March, April, within May, as of today,
01:25:37they don't abandon ASO ROG where President Bola met in Nubu the state. Now solar that they use now.
01:25:44They don't abandon national grid. So whatever happened, don't concern anybody. And to be very,
01:25:48very honest, in Nigeria of today, people don't even care about the light anymore. That's why people are
01:25:54opting out for solar. People, they opt out for solar. Now they try that.
01:26:01Now power station went out. Can they come back now? At least we will help people.
01:26:05Now they bring up. Some people don't give up. So you made a promise that if you cannot give
01:26:12electricity to Nigerians, they should not vote you in the coming term. So that is what Nigerians are
01:26:16going to follow. This is not very dark. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I get a lot of
01:26:21your clips and
01:26:22everything you promised. You have failed. You have failed. So talking about jazz, except if they use jazz,
01:26:28and even if they use jazz on Nigerians, time don't retreat to say you will tap yourself. You will go
01:26:32wash your body again, make your understanding, say this man does not have anything to offer to come
01:26:372027. Any other option is welcome. But for me, myself and I, President Bola met in Nubu can not
01:26:43offer us anything anymore. So it should go. It should go. It should go. Bola met in Nubu,
01:26:58Ossas do our home-level, bringing youth the news, in the more digital world.
