00:19Welcome back to The Debrief, where Movie Night has everyone in their feels. I'm Toni.
00:23I'm Yaz.
00:24And I'm Shakira, and that was a tough episode for Jasmine.
00:27Yeah, she's going through it in there right now.
00:31I feel like her and Cab are just on completely different pages and it's not getting resolved after seeing all
00:37those clips.
00:38I think the reason why she was so upset, I think it's a case of Cab obviously told her that
00:42he was getting to know Charlene, but I think it was even worse for her watching it in 4K when,
00:48I think the way she was comparing it was with her and Jordan, she didn't kiss him, she didn't share
00:52a bed with him, there was no cuddling, no nothing.
00:55And with Cab, obviously, his chats with Charlene were very, very flirty. He was saying, oh, where have you been
01:02for the last four weeks? And like, that's not nice to see.
01:04When it's in front of your face, it's harder. I experienced this after Casa, I was like, oh, I don't
01:10give a fuck. But then when you have to see it happening in front of you, and watching back Movie
01:14Night and the evidence, it all just makes it so much worse. I feel for her.
01:18Yeah, I definitely feel for her. But I think your post-Cassa...
01:23Oh, it was worse.
01:24Yeah, but also it wasn't related to you. Whereas I do think Cab was pretty honest with what had happened.
01:30Like, there was nothing surprising there. I think it was just a case of it's hard to watch.
01:34But I think Cab felt like he was being hard done to, because he'd been so honest. Like, he'd held
01:41his hands up. I found a connection. I did kiss. I'm sorry, I've been accountable for that.
01:46But he was upset because there was things that he'd just found out about, and everyone was dismissing that.
01:51The thing is, like, Cab could tell everybody whatever he wanted to. The girls were kind of right. It's those
01:58little things, like hearing, where have you been for the last four weeks? That's the nail in the coffin.
02:03Yeah, I think it's a case of, as well, as, like, after everything happened, he wasn't really, I don't know,
02:11he wasn't really, like, comforting her. He wasn't reassuring her. He had sort of just left her to it.
02:15We saw, obviously, Lorenzo and the girls comforting her. And then he was obviously chatting to Charlene on the terrace.
02:21They were obviously... I don't know, there is something there between them.
02:24Like, their chats are flirty. There is a spark there still. I think if there wasn't, then they wouldn't just
02:28naturally be drawn to each other.
02:29One of the big things in this episode was that, like, the girls were backing the girls during movie night,
02:35and then the boys were backing the boys, but they were getting shit for it.
02:39Yeah. I think it was a case of, because Jazz was crying during those clips, and, like, it wasn't just
02:44a little tear rolling down the cheek.
02:46I think she was crying so much, like, she couldn't speak.
02:48So, I think it was a case of, the girls, obviously, are really close-knit in there, and I think
02:52they were sort of having to be her voice.
02:54But I think, and I think it's a thing of, just because Cav wasn't crying doesn't mean that he's not
02:58upset as well.
02:59But I think it's a case of someone like Samraj.
03:02Like, I did really love him at the start, but I think he was just getting very, very verbal towards
03:06Jazz.
03:07And, like, he can obviously tell she's upset at what she's just seen.
03:10And, like, maybe it's a time and place to have a conversation, and it shouldn't have been there.
03:13I mean, Finlay made the point it was between Jazz and Cavan, and they were trying to talk.
03:18And at this point, Jazz wasn't crying.
03:19She was shouting, giving gun fingers.
03:21Like, she'd stopped crying at that point, and the girls were still then chiming in.
03:25So, I get it when she can't speak, they'll speak for her.
03:28But she was talking at that point, and it was, again, the backup dancers ad-libbing in the background.
03:33But as soon as one of the boys spoke, all of them were on the boys.
03:37And I think Finlay's a pretty good voice of reason.
03:39And Samaraj used to be our voice of reason, not anymore.
03:41But he said, why can we not give our perspective to you?
03:44And the boys were saying, we've been with him through this experience the same way you've been with Jazz when
03:50she was doing her castor experience.
03:51We want to be vocal about it.
03:53It just comes down to that double standard, again, with the boys and the girls in the villa.
03:57Whether you agree with that or not, the boys feel like there's a double standard there, and they're not allowed
04:02to back their friends.
04:03They've been saying this for weeks.
04:04They have.
04:05It's not just coming out of nowhere.
04:06And it's not a matter of, like, who's right and who's wrong.
04:09Everyone's obviously going to support their friends when they're going through it.
04:12I mean, this was quite a depressing episode to watch.
04:15Literally.
04:15That was a lot of people's feelings who got hurt.
04:17I mean, like, we saw Charlene getting emotional as well.
04:19Because I think for her, it's obviously really hard.
04:21She's coming to this new environment, and she probably feels really rejected from Cav and probably confused at the same
04:28time.
04:28But I think what Cav needs to do now is just make his intentions clear.
04:32If it's a case of he still wants to get to know Jazz and also Charlene, then he needs to
04:36be open about that.
04:37And he also needs to give them both the time of day.
04:39But if it's just Jazz he's tunnel visioning for, then I don't know why he should be entertaining chats with
04:43Charlene.
04:43Well, what I will say is, not this episode, but yesterday's episode, Charlene and Cav had a conversation.
04:49They said maybe we were too hasty.
04:51And he went to go and try and speak to Jazz.
04:54And it was Jazz who said, I don't want to speak to you right now.
04:56Lo and behold, movie night text come through.
04:58I just feel like they didn't get to have that conversation.
05:00But he did try and go and speak to her about it.
05:04I don't think the triangle is an option.
05:06Jazz isn't going to go for that.
05:08She already said, like, it's basically it's a me or nothing kind of thing.
05:11And I see where she's coming from in that sense.
05:13But then there's still Charlene involved.
05:15I think this is like a triangle of hurt people hurt people.
05:19Because you can say Jazz hurt Cav, but then Cav hurt Jazz and Charlene.
05:24Like, it's just not ending up well for any of them.
05:26No, it's a really, really messy situation.
05:29But I think I think Cav and Jazz need to have a really, really honest, raw conversation with each other.
05:35Because I think from what we've seen, like Jazz said herself, like, she doesn't cry that much.
05:39And to see how this upset kind of just shows, like, there was something real between those two.
05:44But I feel like with Cav, I think he's just, he's wanted to sort of have his cake and eat
05:48it.
05:48He's wanted to explore things with Charlene.
05:50But I don't know why.
05:51I just can feel him always kind of coming back to Jazz at the end of the day.
05:55I don't think his story with her is over yet.
05:58Well, then he needs to cut it off with Charlene because it's not fair to her either.
06:02Are Cav and Charlene running it back?
06:04Charlene says she's been very patient.
06:06Has she been too patient?
06:07Should she maybe have fought for what she wanted a little bit more?
06:10I think he was open to getting to know her again.
06:14Maybe he was a bit hasty shutting it down.
06:15And I think it was because Jazz gave him the ultimatum, me or nothing.
06:21And now I think that he's seen the movie night clips.
06:25Again, it's reaffirmed his paranoia that he had about the whole affair situation.
06:29And maybe it's just going to send him back to Charlene.
06:32In Charlene's perfect world, that's, like, what she would want.
06:35But I don't know at this point because she hasn't really made that effort, that same effort that Jazz is
06:40making.
06:40Like, I want it to be you.
06:41I'm in love with you.
06:43Getting upset in front of everyone.
06:45But I don't know.
06:46I don't know what Cav is going to do.
06:48It's really weird because it kind of did seem like they were running it back.
06:52I mean, he made a point of, well, she asked him, okay, like, do you not want to share a
06:56bed with me because you want to be fair to everyone?
06:58Or, like, what's the situation with that?
07:00And he was like, oh, no, we could share a bed.
07:02But, you know, it won't be respectful if we kiss and cuddle.
07:05And then, like, you could just tell they had this moment of eye contact.
07:08And then she was like, oh, like, you don't think we'll do that type of thing.
07:11So I think, I do think there is still something there.
07:14But at the same time, I just don't really know if that connection compares to the one he has with
07:18Jazz.
07:18But it's all become very, very confusing.
07:21And maybe Cav kind of just wants to get his look back now after watching the clips with the whole
07:25Jordan plan as well.
07:26Like, that was a big thing that I don't think he knew about.
07:29Oh, no, I don't think he had any.
07:30I mean, he kind of had an idea.
07:32Like, Jazz did tell everybody else what her plan was.
07:34But now that whole plan has just been, like, brushed under the rug.
07:37It's been voided.
07:38Well, this is the problem.
07:40Because Jazz is very entitled to be upset.
07:43But so is Cav.
07:44And I'm not saying one more than the other.
07:47But, again, there's a huge issue in their relationship where she's very dismissive towards him.
07:52Like, people say Jazz is allergic to accountability.
07:56And she's saying, oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry to everyone else except Cav.
08:00And vice versa.
08:01Like, he's not going and apologised to her.
08:03I think they've avoided each other like the plague.
08:04Like, they need to work on their communication and to actually resolve things.
08:09Because brushing things under the carpet, dismissing things, you're not getting anywhere.
08:14It's just pent-up anger.
08:15And it explodes in these environments when movie night happens.
08:19And then we're back at square one again.
08:20Jasmine's crying.
08:22Charlene's upset.
08:23Cav doesn't know where his head's at.
08:24It's not healthy for anyone.
08:26Well, speaking of brushing things under the carpet,
08:29I think the way that Priya has handled everything,
08:31she's been very cool, calm and collected.
08:34But at the same time, I think she's only...
08:37I think she's more upset than what she's letting on.
08:39And I think she doesn't want to pop off at the girls.
08:42Because the girls are so tight-knit.
08:43And I think because she's so hyper-aware of how people are perceiving her,
08:47like, on telly, I think that's why she's not actually being like,
08:50actually, I think what you've done is wrong.
08:52I think she also read the room a little bit.
08:54I think if Jasmine wasn't as emotional and upset as she was,
08:58she would have had more of a conversation with her
09:01rather than the passing upstairs chair chat.
09:04Because she did sit Mika and Samraj down.
09:06But I think, again, she doesn't want to let them know
09:09that it's bothered her too much.
09:11But be vulnerable, like, let them know.
09:13And tell them a bit about themselves.
09:14She handled it so calmly.
09:17I want her to just pop off and say,
09:18no, you really fucking hurt me and it's not acceptable.
09:21I could actually never.
09:24The way I would rip them a new one,
09:26because how dare you sit there and say that you're my friend
09:28when you talk shit about me,
09:30you let other people talk shit about me and don't tell me.
09:33Plant things behind my back.
09:34Like, Priya has been the number one victim
09:38in this entire villa situation.
09:40I feel so awful for her
09:43and I really wish she would have reacted way bigger
09:46than what we saw.
09:47But it's sad because if you don't give people, like, that fire,
09:52they're probably going to do it again.
09:53And I think the thing is with Jasmine and Mika,
09:56they're great friends to each other.
09:58We see time and time again, like, they're there for each other.
10:00They keep each other's secrets.
10:02They have a little gossip together.
10:06Priya is...
10:07within the trio and she's just that outsider
10:10who isn't really included in that.
10:12And I think she doesn't really have anyone else in there,
10:15like Ellie and Yaz are very close friends.
10:17So it's either Yaz and Mika or nothing.
10:19I think with Priya, it's a thing of, like,
10:21she said it herself, she feels embarrassed.
10:24And I think for her, it's kind of a thing of,
10:27I don't know if it's, like, shame or whatever,
10:29but I think she doesn't want to pop off
10:31because it's, like, a situation that, like,
10:33she doesn't want to talk about, if you know what I mean?
10:35Like, she's probably watched that
10:36and everyone in the villa has watched that with her
10:38and she's probably thinking,
10:39oh, my God, I feel so embarrassed,
10:40like, I don't even want to speak about...
10:41I don't even want to give this any more energy
10:42than what's been shown.
10:43I have to give her her flowers, though,
10:45because in the beach hut, what she said
10:46stuck with me specifically.
10:48She said, I'll never call someone an ick again
10:50because now I know how that feels.
10:52She's not crashing out and getting angry.
10:54She's, like, learning from where not only she's went wrong,
10:57but everyone else around her.
11:00Like, poor Priya, man.
11:02I think we'll probably see a little bit of a shift,
11:05maybe with the girls' dynamics,
11:06because I think so far up until this point,
11:09it's been a case of everyone's been at peace,
11:12everyone kind of gets along with each other,
11:13but I think now after watching that in 4K,
11:15I think Priya's definitely going to have her wits about her.
11:18I don't think so.
11:19I actually don't think so.
11:20No, I think she'll run straight back to them,
11:23which is really disappointing,
11:24and I hope she had a little bit more respect for herself.
11:28Because, like, you have to have respect for yourself
11:30within friendships, too, and you have to set boundaries,
11:33and they crossed a boundary, a huge boundary,
11:35and they all police each other on girls' girls,
11:38girl cord, da-da-da.
11:39None of that applied to Priya,
11:40and I hope she finds better friends in there.
11:42Not even just better friends.
11:44A better man.
11:45Oh, God.
11:45Because Jordan just got away with...
11:48I don't even count them as a couple in my head.
11:50No, they're not.
11:51She's just, like, there for decoration.
11:52Like, I do forget that he actually exists.

12:11because she hasn't got anyone to lean on.

12:18so who does she have to lean on?

16:22she's also not being dismissive of it.
16:24She's just saying,
16:25I don't know what I want right now.
16:27I don't know if I can trust you,
16:28but she's not completely called it off with him.
16:31But that's the problem.

16:34And that's huge.
16:34That's the foundation of a relationship.
16:36And that's completely thrown out of the window.
16:39And so be it at this point.
16:41But Angie's going to go back to him,
16:43unfortunately.
16:44She hasn't really got any other options.
16:45But she did say it herself.
16:46She hasn't actually properly liked someone in years.
16:50So I think how she's feeling now is like,
16:52she's obviously been scared
16:54because she's been disrespected
16:55again and again by Simba.
16:56But at the same time,
16:57I think she's holding on to that feeling of,
17:00well,
17:00like Mara seems to think Simba and Angie
17:02are in love with each other.
17:03And I think they are too.
17:04I think it's just a case of,
17:05they need to sort of,
17:07they need to have better communication.
17:09Simba's actions need to change.
17:10And at the same time,
17:11Angie needs to hold him accountable
17:12for what he's done.
17:13Simba's even questioning himself.
17:15And I'm pretty sure he said,
17:16if I love her,
17:18why did I act like that?
17:19How could I do that?
17:20So he's finally looking deeper within himself
17:23in all the times he's fucked up.
17:26Oh, that man.
17:27I mean,
17:28that bit where he was talking to Sam Raj
17:29and it was like,
17:31they were both crying.
17:32I was like,
17:32what is going on?
17:33What's in the air at the moment in Mihoca?
17:35Like, what is going on?
17:36Everyone's very emotional.
17:37Everyone's very emotional.
17:38I mean,
17:38I really liked that Lorenzo was there for Angie.
17:40And maybe his advice wasn't the best,
17:43but one takeaway that,
17:45I mean,
17:46me personally in the villa,
17:47I had to constantly battle between heart and pride.
17:51And the Love Island villa isn't the place
17:53where you let pride win all the time.
17:55If you've really got strong feelings for someone
17:58and the only thing you're thinking about
17:59is other people's perception of you
18:01and how it might change,
18:02the only person who's losing is yourself.
18:05And that's it.
18:06If she wants Simba
18:07and she wants to make it work with him,
18:08that's on her
18:09and that's on them to figure it out.
18:11You can't think about what other people
18:12are going to think of you
18:13because you're the one who will suffer.
18:14Well, Lorenzo said specifically,
18:16who cares what we think?
18:17I don't think it's just about the people in the villa.
18:19I think it's all the millions of people
18:21that are watching.
18:23Like, don't forget,
18:23Angelica's family is watching
18:25and it's probably heartbroken for her.
18:27And then for him to do it so many times repeatedly,
18:31she has to think,
18:32am I doing this to myself at this point?
18:35If she takes him back again,
18:36is he finally going to behave after all this time?
18:39It's really hard
18:40because I do feel like in there,
18:42it's a case of like,
18:43they were never exclusive.
18:44So then it's sort of like,
18:46well, he's allowed to explore
18:47and he's allowed to have connections.
18:49I think at the same time,
18:50if there were any guys in there that Angie fancied,
18:53I think she would have been well within her right
18:54to explore that as well.
18:55But I think for Simba,
18:56it was a case of he had had multiple connections
18:58and she just didn't have any.
19:00But at the same time,
19:01that's not exactly just on him,
19:03if that makes sense.
19:04Like the whole point of Love Island
19:05is to explore multiple connections
19:07with multiple different people.
19:08But I think where he's always snapped back to Angie
19:10and they've always just been drawn to each other,
19:12I think now we'll sort of see,
19:14I don't know,
19:14I think it'll be a bit less rocky from now.
19:16I'm going to correct you there
19:17because yes, the point is to explore,
19:19but once you explore and then come crying
19:22and saying, no, it was always you,
19:23God put you in my life,
19:25it's not exploring then,
19:26you already know what you want.
19:27Stand on it.
19:28As much as we have a giggle
19:29about Simba's theatrics and dramaticness,
19:32I think he actually is learning things about himself.
19:36We laugh when he's like,
19:37oh, this is a journey, it's a journey.
19:39But it is for him.
19:40You'd think at his big age,
19:41he would have figured it out by now
19:43that his actions have consequences
19:45and that he's hurting people.
19:46But it feels like the penny has just dropped.
19:49I mean, he spoke to Mara saying,
19:51my ex told me,
19:52sometimes you have to put everyone's feelings
19:54before yourself.
19:55And maybe that's a lesson he's finally learning.
19:58It's harder to watching it.
20:00I said it earlier,
20:01but like once you see yourself on that screen,
20:03it's like the weirdest out-of-body experience
20:05because it's Amnesia Island.
20:08It always has been.
20:09People literally forget what they do days prior
20:11and then you see it
20:12and the tapes are ran back
20:13and the truth is out.
20:14So that's why he's finally realizing.
20:16I also think it's really interesting,
20:17from my perspective,
20:19how you think things have played out in your head
20:21or how you've said it
20:22and then when you watch it,
20:23you're like,
20:24oh, oh.
20:27Did I do that?
20:28And Simba was like,
20:29oh, what?
20:30I never knew that.
