00:05will have the right to obtain boarding passes digitally at check-in without any obligation

00:12Also, all airlines will now be required to display airfares that include carry-on luggage

00:19These are the additional EU regulations on top of the existing ones, as the European
00:24Parliament approved the revised rules for flight passengers who will continue to benefit
00:29from free cabin luggage an entitlement to financial compensation of €250, €400 or €600 depending
00:36on flight distance and delay time.
00:39The new text specifies that for flights over 3,500 km, compensation is €600 if the delay
00:46exceeds four hours or the flight is cancelled.
00:50Passengers will have nine months to file a compensation request, while airlines will have 30 days to
00:55pay.
00:56Passengers will still be entitled to bring on board a free personal item measuring 40
01:00by 30 by 15 cm.
01:03Low-cost airlines will not be able to charge for it, but they are allowed to offer a lower
01:07price to those who voluntarily don't bring one.
01:11The bill was adopted by an overwhelming majority after a decade of negotiations, due to resistance
01:16from some EU countries and the aviation industry.
01:19The new rules will take effect in 2027.
