00:00Then, now,
00:23forever, together.
00:39We're seeing Cam on LFG.
00:42He's practicing.
00:43He's seeing LFG happening.
00:45He wants a match in the worst way,
00:47but we as a coaching staff felt
00:49we needed to keep him dialed in, refocused,
00:52for the right time.
00:54I'm gonna pull you from LFG for a couple weeks.
00:57All right, maybe longer.
00:59Now, go to work.
01:00Yes, sir.
01:02How you feeling?
01:03What's up, coach? I'm feeling good.
01:05Yes, sir.
01:05Getting a little extra in?
01:06Yeah. Extra work, baby.
01:09That's all I know.
01:11It's a bad feeling, you know,
01:12not being on the show.
01:14I want to be on LFG.
01:15LFG is what represents me.
01:19I've been here for two and a half years,
01:20and I just found it.
01:21Like, I want to say a couple months ago,
01:24you know, in this time off that I needed.
01:26Brother, you haven't found it yet.
01:28You don't want to burst your bubble.
01:30You haven't found it yet.
01:31Okay.
01:32You are on the right path.
01:33Yeah.
01:33You haven't found it yet, man.
01:35Sometimes he's hard on me,
01:36but just like football coaches,
01:37they're hard on their players.
01:38They want to see them succeed.
01:40If he didn't say anything to me at all,
01:41I'd be a little worried.
01:42I'd rather have you work on getting heat
01:45through beating the tire out of that babyface.
01:48Not going to the fans.
01:50And pandering.
01:51Yep.
01:51You are so athletic,
01:53and you can move around the ring.
01:54Yeah.
01:54Like, you could have that fun cell
01:56where people go,
01:57oh, man, I love when Cam Hendricks
01:58gets the kicked out of him.
02:00I mean, him coming to talk to me,
02:01it's a good feeling because now I know
02:02I got someone to try to make proud.
02:04This is pushing me.
02:05This is helping me overcome adversity,
02:07and that's something that everyone needs to go through.
02:16Come on.
02:17Talk to him.
02:18Let's go.
02:19Yeah.
02:20We're not here to be decent.
02:22We're here to be great.
02:22I need you to look like you're in control.
02:25Let's go.
02:25You need to show me who you are.
02:27A hundred percent.
02:28It has to happen now.
02:30You don't have to wait to see who gets called up.
02:32They can go at any time.
02:34The future is indeed now here on LFG.
02:38All right, let's go.
02:45Booker, Bubba, good to see you again.
02:47Coach Terry Taylor, thank you so much for being back here with us.
02:50First match today, a talent that you know well, Mike Derruder.
02:54Today he has a match against Harley Riggins.
02:57Harley Riggins, a tag team guy who for the first time
03:01won't be with his partner, Jax Presley,
03:03who just got injured in practice.
03:06He was starting to understand tag team psychology.
03:10He was starting to apply it, but it's a whole new game now.
03:13Yep.
03:14I feel like Mike will be the baby face in this match.
03:16Harley will be the heel.
03:18Mike can't flip and fly the entire match.
03:21I agree.
03:22Less is more.
03:23With Harley, a simple story, staying on a body part,
03:28not having general heat, having Mike sell that body part.
03:31Do that well before you get into all the hooping and flying.
03:34We don't need to see an over-complicated story.
03:36Simple done well is far better than complicated done decent.
03:39Yes, sir. You got it.
03:40Bubba, you'll be assigned Mason Holliday versus Bailey Humphrey.
03:46Mason just had a match against PJ Vassa.
03:50I was happy with her efforts.
03:51I gave her some things she needs to work on.
03:54She's a little bit too concerned about her pretty moves
03:57rather than her physical kicks, punches, elbows, looking good.
04:02Bailey, we know what she's doing.
04:04We know how she's trending.
04:05She's always been on the cusp.
04:07I've never actually gotten to work with her directly,
04:10looking forward to this.
04:12Tell me what you think.
04:13It's almost like she's afraid to hurt people.
04:16Yeah, I think this is exactly what it is.
04:17Yes?
04:17Yeah, 100%.
04:18I would say today is about making sure that these two women
04:22are making everything that they do mean something.
04:25I love it. I love it.
04:27Okay.
04:27I think you're right on path of what they should be doing
04:29and where they are.
04:30And finally, Booker, you're taking us home.
04:32What we got?
04:33Layla Diggs versus Callie Armstrong.
04:36D1 athletes studs.
04:38Layla is quite the story.
04:40She's come from a shy girl to this very comfortable
04:44in front of the camera superstar.
04:46But I don't believe who she is right now.
04:49I see a little Bianca Belair when she walks out.
04:52I see a little Lash legend in how she dresses.
04:57I want her to find herself.
05:00Callie Armstrong, that girl's unique.
05:02We know more than anyone else.
05:04Timing is everything in this business.
05:07Everything.
05:08And her time is going to come.
05:10And this girl's a stud.
05:12Let's get to work.
05:14Yes, sir.
05:14Do it.
05:19A couple Saturdays ago in Citrus Springs, I had a tag match.
05:23And right at the cutoff, I had a clothesline in the back.
05:25Hit the clothesline.
05:27I immediately felt the shoulder or something popping here.
05:30I tried my best to finish the match, but I tore the pec tent
05:32and it completely off.
05:34Prognosis is like six months, I think, for typical recovery.
05:38Before the injury, me and Harley were definitely in a role.
05:40I think the momentum was building.
05:42It's an impressive tag team win for these two and their LFG debut.
05:46The tag was on fire.
05:48They were loving us.
05:48They were pushing us.
05:49But, you know, things happen, so you just got to roll with it.
05:52You definitely haven't seen the last of Jack's president.
06:00So you're working the leg.
06:01We'll figure out how to get out of it.
06:03It's been a while since I hit the singles realm.
06:05But it's good to let everybody know and remind them what I can do in the ring.
06:08Terry Taylor's a legend in his own regard.
06:09And he's, like, where all the top guys work with right now.
06:12So I think it was a great opportunity to get on, like, the base level with him
06:15and build the relationship.
06:17It's Terry Taylor.
06:18I see him every day in the PC.
06:21And when they told me, Terry is your producer, I was like,
06:25oh, my God.
06:26He will change everything.
06:28I will tell him I want to do this, this, this, this.
06:30He will tell him, no, no, no.
06:32Do a headlock takeover.
06:34Well, you want to do all this crap that's glorifying what you want to do
06:38more than thrilling the audience?
06:39When they got together before we spoke,
06:42they had all these high-impact, violent moves
06:47from seven seconds into the match.
06:50I wanted them to start slower, introduce both characters.
06:55They just wanted to get into combat.
06:56It starts out as two competitors.
06:58One's an arrogant a-hole.
06:59Yep.
07:00The other one is a nice guy who loves competing
07:02and wants to do things the right way.
07:04The first three or four minutes of the match
07:06should be that story being told.
07:08And as you get more frustrated and he keeps out wrestling you,
07:12you blast him out of frustration.
07:14But you guys are starting out with combat right away.
07:17How am I going to be as an audience member invested in that
07:19when I haven't seen the story play out?
07:22You mad?
07:23No, no, no.
07:23I did this to you last time, too.
07:24No, no.
07:25I want to be a big star, but before this,
07:26I need to show who I am a little bit coach, no?
07:28You need to show me who you are.
07:30That's exactly right.
07:31Not what you can do.
07:33100% who you are.
07:34But you want to show me what you can do.
07:37I feel I just need to show who I am
07:39to get the opportunity to be able to do
07:42the biggest venues in the world.
07:44If you guys could wrestle, compete, trade holds
07:47for 90 seconds before you start stomping his leg,
07:50I'd be great.
07:51Thank you, Klaus.
07:51Appreciate you.
07:52The compromise here is 90 seconds of wrestling
07:55before we get to the hitting and beating and stuff.
08:01I look forward to getting singles heat.
08:03That's what this whole game is about is reaction,
08:05and I can get that out of people.
08:10The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
08:14Introducing first from Chardon, Ohio,
08:17winged at 232 pounds, Harley Riggins.
08:23Well, I don't know if this is going to be a textbook matchup, JB,
08:28because these are two guys that are going to go out there
08:31and literally try to maul, hurt, and maim their opponent tonight.
08:37I think we are in for a fight.
08:41I think we're in for a brawl.
08:42I think we're in for a Donnybrook.
08:45In the case of this man coming to the ring now
08:48and the intensity is there, you can obviously see it.
08:50The experience, he's gotten some great experience
08:53during his time here at the Performance Center.
08:55Now looking to make that next step,
08:58find himself amidst the superstars on the NXT roster.
09:15And his opponent from Brussels Belgium,
09:19weighing at 235 pounds, Mike Deruder.
09:24Deruder is a guy who has caught your eyes since he arrived here
09:28at the Performance Center.
09:29We've said it before here on LFG, an international sensation.
09:33Wow, Brussels Belgium zone.
09:36This guy has come into the Performance Center
09:38and turned a lot of heads.
09:41Obviously, looks incredible.
09:43The physique is there.
09:44Hand it up.
09:45Looks like a bad man.
09:47But wait till you see, if you've not seen Mike Deruder yet,
09:50wait till you see what he can do in the sky.
09:54For a man this size, has a skill set and the abilities
09:58I haven't seen before here at the Performance Center.
10:03Talk about a guy who can hit like a heavyweight,
10:07move like a cruiserweight.
10:08But I got to agree with you, Jeremy.
10:10This is going to be a hard-hitting, no-nonsense battle.
10:13And we still have our main event to come here on LFG,
10:17Legends and Future Greats.
10:18But it's always important to keep an eye on every single match
10:21because at any moment, Shawn Michaels could see something he likes
10:24and someone could have themselves a life-changing moment.
10:28Come on, Marlon.
10:29Go!
10:32Mike Deruder comes to us from Europe with a lot of experience
10:36and getting his, you know, his feet kind of grounded here
10:40at the Performance Center and finding his way
10:43has come very quickly to him.
10:44And that's, you know, when you come in here and you're leapfrogging
10:47other talent that have been around for a while.
10:49Look at that.
10:50We're going down low trying to hyperextend
10:52and I know you had talked about high flying
10:54and wait till you see what he can do.
10:55But obviously, if you know that, they know that.
10:58Riggins knows that.
11:00Mike, that hurts.
11:02That's a great strategy by Riggins to go after those legs.
11:04He knows what he's capable of and has seen the tape.
11:08And that's so much of this is tape watching
11:10and watching your opponents scouting what they're about to do.
11:12Be ready to have one step ahead.
11:14Uh-oh.
11:16Look at Riggins wisely able to get out of the way.
11:19Oh, the knee buckle just a moment.
11:21I don't know if right now I'd be trying to showboat a little bit,
11:24but that springboard connected.
11:26Riggins down to the mat.
11:27If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
11:30It'll be interesting to hear what our legends have to say
11:33about this matchup so far as we get a chance to hear what they're saying.
11:40Accelerate.
11:42Great legends here on LFG.
11:44And certainly that's part of the education.
11:46The process is watching yourself back and seeing what worked and what didn't.
11:52The second time in this matchup Riggins has been focusing on the leg.
11:56I think he came into this matchup with a worry about DeRuiter's ability to fly around.
12:00If he can isolate one of those attributes,
12:02Riggins is going to have himself the advantage in the match and again going down low.
12:07It's a smart strategy.
12:08You've got to give Riggins credit for that.
12:10Having the foresight to know that DeRuiter can beat you with some incredible power,
12:15but he can also beat you from the sky.
12:18He certainly can.
12:19And look, that's where I'll bite my tongue here and admit when I'm wrong.
12:22I thought Riggins was not going to come in here with a game plan.
12:24He was just going to come in here and throw around some fists and try to throw his body around
12:28because now you're seeing the brutality start to pick up.
12:30But he did come in here, scouting the opposition, pinpoint a body part,
12:35targeted an area of the body and is executing the plan that he came in here with.
12:47Well, it's interesting that Riggins is now implementing that game plan,
12:50going back to what he's comfortable with, having his kind of match and his style of brawling.
12:55And this is where you can really capitalize on this and get the best of DeRuiter.
13:02Now, DeRuiter right now, I'm just trying to get a look here from the desk.
13:06Our official Jeremy Marcus doing a great job, but DeRuiter cannot get back in this match.
13:12Can't even get back to his feet.
13:14Pain is touched on the face of DeRuiter at this juncture, JB, in this matchup.
13:19Harvey sucks! Harvey sucks! Harvey sucks!
13:24Oh, wow!
13:30Well, he took a little try to take a page out of DeRuiter's book and go to the skies.
13:35Did not work out.
13:40And I think Riggins was in firm control of the matchup.
13:43He may watch this match back and realize that was the mistake.
13:47As you called it, a turning point into the cover off that slingshot suplex of sorts.
13:51And it's a near fall.
13:53But DeRuiter has really rebounded right now.
13:55He certainly has.
13:56And this is the Mike DeRuiter that we've seen before.
13:59Not afraid to go to the top rope.
14:00And obviously with that leg.
14:02He's climbing a little gingerly.
14:04Taking a little bit too much time.
14:05And Riggins able to get just out of the way.
14:07And hopping right down.
14:09And whoa!
14:09This time able to get out of the way was DeRuiter.
14:11Ooh!
14:12Ducked it once.
14:13Didn't duck that letter at the second time.
14:16Wasn't able to get out of the way of that clothesline.
14:18And hardly Riggins can throw a clothesline.
14:20No question about it.
14:21Let's go!
14:22Riggins had an answer for everything that DeRuiter has been able to throw at him.
14:26And has had a counter for a counter.
14:28I'm gonna rip your head clean up buddy!
14:30I think a lot of people have been impressed tonight with Riggins.
14:33Big drop kick.
14:34That was right to the back of the neck.
14:37Falling into the cover.
14:38Will it be enough?
14:39And no.
14:40DeRuiter's right shoulder up.
14:41And I want to go off something you said moments ago.
14:43When you talk about the main event.
14:45Both these men may be getting very close to earning a main event nod here on LFG.
14:50It won't be tonight.
14:50Our main event's still to come.
14:51But maybe in the near future.
14:53Well certainly looking to capitalize on momentum.
14:56I would say definitely.
14:58Especially Harley Riggins in this.
14:59Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
15:00Up.
15:00Over.
15:01Counter.
15:01Didn't get him though.
15:03Harley Riggins is...
15:04Wow!
15:06Showing so much.
15:07And really I think it's a...
15:08No matter what happens at this point.
15:10To be able to take it to Mike DeRuiter as good as he has so far is impressive.
15:19Maybe, just maybe he's...
15:21Awaken the beast.
15:23Yeah, jumping you under the jaw.
15:24Big clothes on.
15:25He talked about throwing lariats earlier.
15:26How about that one, JB?
15:28Mike DeRuiter now on fire.
15:30Whoa!
15:30And that certainly powerbomb sit down style.
15:34And that will do it.
15:37Here is your winner.
15:39Mike DeRuiter!
15:52Here is your winner.
15:54Mike DeRuiter!
15:56Mike DeRuiter!
15:59I can't rub my face.
16:07So, I didn't want to like it, but it was good.
16:10With love and respect, I got to get you out of wanting to do the big moves.
16:14It was very awkward and disjointed to me when you're hopping on one leg and then you're
16:18running across the rain and then you're selling again and then you do something to chop him down.
16:23Heels take advantage, babyfaces weather the storm and then pay back.
16:29You guys wrestling up front, Terry?
16:30I did.
16:31Nice.
16:32You guys, I said 90 seconds, right?
16:34Yeah.
16:34Timed it.
16:35What?
16:37A minute 25 for those of you keeping score.
16:39We are pros.
16:40Yeah.
16:41We're ready to go.
16:42You guys did good, man.
16:43Thank you guys.
16:44And they look...
16:44Very much, coach.
16:45Would have done less.
16:46But that's my job, is to get you guys, do less, milk it and sell it more.
16:52And the connective tissue will be this.
16:55He actually ended up enjoying the match, but moral of the story is that we can do less
16:58and get more emotions and more facials and more reactions and the crowd will be more
17:02interested in the story.
17:03Okay?
17:04Good job, you guys.
17:05Well done.
17:06Appreciate you all.
17:07Have fun working with you.
17:08Poor Mike.
17:09It was great.
17:10Just this small detail and this small detail, but he was happy overall.
17:15Yes, yes, yes.
17:16Give me something that you guys heard coaching-wise.
17:18Did he say anything post-match that he wants to see better or didn't like?
17:22Yes, he just told me that I need to do less.
17:24But less is more.
17:25I'm telling you, man.
17:26Less is more.
17:27I know, I know.
17:27And I think you're doing a better job of that.
17:29I do.
17:29I think you're doing a better job of that.
17:30It's gotta be hard to be able to do everything in here.
17:33Like, you could flip, you could bounce, you could spin.
17:35Like, you can do it all.
17:36But if you give it to them all every single day, it's just not gonna be special anymore.
17:39Sure.
17:40Your chops were awful.
17:42Mm-hmm.
17:42Chops were awful at the end right there.
17:44Okay.
17:44Did you feel that?
17:46Yeah.
17:46I don't really like chops.
17:47Well, then why are you throwing them?
17:49Like, throw a forearm.
17:50Throw a flipper.
17:50Okay.
17:51Your first match without having a tag team partner, man.
17:54But it's a whole new game for you.
17:56Thanks, boss, man.
17:57Have a great night.
17:58All right, you too. Take care.
17:59Great game, Mikey.
18:00First time in singles, it's good to, like, brush up on those skills.
18:03I think LFG should book me every week.
18:05I think LFG should put me in a main event.
18:07I think I can incite the crowd and I can get the people going.
18:13Today, for you two ladies, it's gonna be about intent.
18:17Yep.
18:18And impact.
18:20I wanna see it and I wanna hear it.
18:23Okay.
18:23Okay?
18:25Can you both stand up for a second, please?
18:27I just wanna see from a perception.
18:28Okay.
18:29I wanna see move for move, size for size.
18:33These two women were impressive.
18:34Impressive standing side by side.
18:37I wanted to feel that.
18:38And as a fan go, wow.
18:40These women are about to get it on.
18:42They're about to bring it.
18:44I wanna feel this.
18:46I wanna feel this.
18:47Yeah.
18:47Don't look away from each other.
18:49I wanna feel this.
18:50Take one step back.
18:51Take one step back.
18:53Take one step back.
18:54Give me a lockup.
18:56Boom.
18:56Yeah.
18:57Stay in that lockup.
18:58Stay in that lockup.
18:59Stay in that lockup.
19:00Yeah.
19:01Barely back into that corner.
19:02Yeah.
19:03Give me that clean break.
19:04Give me that clean break.
19:05One.
19:06Two.
19:07Oh.
19:09I'm actually very appreciative of Bubba taking us through the match step by step because
19:13to understand what we're really trying to tell people and get the audience to understand,
19:17I think that was very, very helpful.
19:19Both of you have had great attitudes today.
19:22I wanna see you both succeed.
19:26Yup.
19:30Yup.
19:38The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
19:41Introducing first, from Atlanta, Georgia, Mason Holiday!
19:47Well, I know Jeremy's excited because his hips are grooving.
19:51His hair's standing on end.
19:53He's got a little shoulder shimmy to his shake.
19:56Come on, girl.
19:57Give me lots of flavor.
19:58Give me lots of character.
19:59Oh, she's got it.
20:00Smile.
20:01Get those people going.
20:03Anytime I see this fantastic athlete come to the ring, I'm excited for a couple of reasons
20:08because we know we're in for an exciting matchup and a lot of energy and a lot of effort
20:12put forth.
20:13She's seen the results of her hard work here at the Performance Center.
20:16She's ready to take that next step to NXT.
20:20Well, it's a holiday any time she steps into the ring.
20:28It's always a nightmare for the opposition when this woman steps into the squared circle.
20:35And her opponent, from Chandler, Arizona, Bailey Humphrey!
20:43J.B., all joking aside, we've known about Bailey Humphrey.
20:48We've seen Holiday.
20:49Both women very impressive in their own rights.
20:52But when we take a look at this matchup, when we think about things that have happened here on this
20:57program, this season, season three of LFG, in your opinion, because it appears that you know more than I do
21:05when it comes to an inside scoop, who needs to stand out more?
21:10Oh, wow.
21:12Loaded question.
21:13Well, yeah, you're right.
21:14I am deep in the thick of it with the shovel getting the scoop.
21:17But I can tell you right now, Bailey Humphrey is destined for greatness in this industry.
21:22And what we're seeing right now is just the first chapter of what I think is going to be a
21:27very exciting career to watch, a career that she is certainly gearing up for.
21:32And her time here at the Performance Center has only prepped her for the chaos that is to ensue in
21:37her career.
21:37I have a feeling.
21:47This is not a battle you want to take on if you're facing Bailey Humphrey in the ring.
21:53Just obviously the size, the strength, the power.
21:55She tossed cheerleaders for a living in college.
21:58That was her claim to fame and certainly was able to make a name from herself, throwing other athletes in
22:05the air.
22:05You think that can be applied to this?
22:07I think so.
22:08You know, obviously you're dealing with an athlete that's just the size, the strength of Bailey.
22:13No one's ever been able to compete against that.
22:15You see right now in the center of the ring, just the pure size advantage is now you're seeing that
22:20power on display.
22:24Yeah, look down at her.
22:26Brood over her.
22:27Yep, good, good, Mason.
22:28Get right up.
22:30We've seen her in the weight room.
22:32And I mean, you talk about records just falling right now inside the Performance Center.
22:36And I don't know if this is a wise strategy as the confidence may be falling on Holiday and her
22:41body just gave out after that massive clothesline.
22:44Well, that's certainly a clothesline you don't want to be on the other end of as Mason Holiday is finding
22:50out now.
22:50And look at this.
22:51There you go.
22:51On cue almost, JB, which you said a few minutes ago, just tossing around bodies, what Bailey does best.
22:57And Humphrey going right in right now.
22:59And certainly putting the boots as well.
23:00I mean, this is an athlete that really brings a whole different skill set to the table.
23:05And certainly we've seen that over the course of time.
23:07And we've seen that develop and evolve over the course of two seasons, now a third here on LFG.
23:12And now just putting the boots to Holiday and into the cover, hook of the leg, looking at the outside
23:17leg, and a kick out.
23:18And you know what's, I guess, a little bit scary, and that's not a pun trying to tie into The
23:23Undertaker at all,
23:23is when she's down there with him and they're working together, her potential continues to grow and grow.
23:30They're finding new things out of what she can do, what she's comfortable with, and it's like she still hasn't
23:36blossomed yet.
23:37And that's a scary thing to think about.
23:38When Bailey Humphrey is hitting at high gear, when she enters NXT, if that ever were to happen and that
23:44contract gets signed, landscape changes.
23:49That's really what it is, and taking that next step means getting the attention of Shawn Michaels and the NXT
23:55crew here,
23:56getting the recommendation of coaches like Matt Bloom and Terry Taylor, Booker T,
24:00everybody that's here at the Performance Center putting in the time to get these athletes to another level.
24:03You know, even Michael Jordan had a coach.
24:06That's true.
24:06Even guys that are God-gifted talents like you've never seen before, always need some advice, always need some help,
24:13and wow, she might need some advice and a neck brace after that.
24:17If how they were, they were, JB, to pull this match off and be victorious, you'd have to say that's
24:24an upset.
24:25Not from your knees, no punches from your knees.
24:35You can look and see, you know, with your own eyes what we're dealing with here,
24:39but obviously this is a situation where she needs to show up and show out.
24:43Pauley's starting to fight back in the match, misses the clothesline, and Bailey coming, big elbow.
24:48And now right back up, and look at Humphrey going down.
24:54That's a momentum, and that is certainly something unusual to see somebody get the best of Bailey when it comes
25:00to...
25:00No way.
25:01No way.
25:02Come on.
25:03What?
25:07Falling into the cover, hook of the leg.
25:09Not many women have scooped her up and body slammed her in the center of the ring.
25:14Holiday now cannot blink in this moment.
25:17This could be that career life changing.
25:20Three seconds she needs, but Humphrey turning it right around.
25:24Oh!
25:25Never seen that before.
25:30Here is your winner, Bailey Humphrey!
25:35That was good.
25:36Did you give her that finish?
25:37No, she's been doing that since, like, season one.
25:40I saw her do something where she flipped around.
25:42That was way better.
25:43I would not want to be any woman who has to step in the ring and look across and see
25:51Bailey Humphrey.
25:52That is a look of determination and someone who, as you said, JB, sooner rather than later, could be making
26:00an impact in NXT.
26:05Here is your winner, Bailey Humphrey!
26:11Very, very good.
26:13And it's very good because you understood the story and the psychology of what we were trying to do.
26:21There's so many things that I liked about it, the execution.
26:24But what you need, what everybody needs, is reps.
26:27Yeah.
26:27Nothing small.
26:28Don't fire up small.
26:31Yeah.
26:31Everything is big.
26:32You're larger than life.
26:37Remember how in the beginning I told you, pick somebody out in the crowd?
26:40This is you, okay?
26:42You shut up and sit down.
26:48Shut up and sit down!
26:52Bellow.
26:52Yeah.
26:53Bellow.
26:54From the guts.
26:55So that the whole arena can hear it.
26:58Yeah.
26:59For me, he said, especially as a heel, like, I'm vocal, but I need to, like, say it more with
27:03my chest.
27:04You have to find your inner, like, animal.
27:08Okay.
27:08Okay?
27:09I see it here in all this.
27:11I see it physically.
27:12I need to feel it emotionally.
27:15So those are the little things that are gonna come in time.
27:19Mm-hmm.
27:20But that was a, that was a great effort.
27:22I heard the people more for you guys.
27:24Yeah.
27:24Than anybody else.
27:25I agree.
27:28Really, really good job.
27:30Mm-hmm.
27:30So be proud of yourself.
27:31Great, that's teamwork.
27:32Thank you, thank you.
27:33Great.
27:34Yeah.
27:35Bubba was really happy about it, which I was excited about because he wanted us to tell a certain story.
27:39And I feel like we did a really good job of portraying that.
27:42And he gave us fist bumps, so I think that's the good news.
27:45Oh, hello.
27:47Good reports?
27:48Yay.
27:49Mm-hmm.
27:49Yeah, I think so.
27:51I was proud of it.
27:52I love that you guys told a story that I was like, all right, where are they going?
27:55This is like a little tit for tat right here.
28:01I was following like your rage building and your rage building and you finally slammed
28:06her.
28:07Yeah.
28:07To me, I felt like, oh, carry that rage on right now.
28:11Yeah.
28:11But you kind of like separated and got another lock up right there.
28:14Yep.
28:14And then.
28:15She tried to body slam me.
28:16Body slammed you.
28:17Mm-hmm.
28:17I would visualize it like you, you boom, you slam her.
28:21She feeds up, you come.
28:22You even slam her again.
28:23Yeah.
28:23She feeds up again.
28:24She goes behind you.
28:26She tries that one time on you, boom, into the corner.
28:29Like I'm parlaying this rage.
28:33I've been saying this to all the matches.
28:35We have very forgiving, understanding fans inside this arena.
28:38Mm-hmm.
28:39It takes work to get the fans to get behind you.
28:41And like, you have to work hard.
28:42You gotta tell a good story.
28:43You gotta make sure that it makes sense.
28:45Mm-hmm.
28:45And you were doing all that.
28:47Mm-hmm.
28:47So they're chanting holiday, holiday.
28:49And you did nothing.
28:50Like, you gotta give me something where it's showing that you're in the fight still.
28:57I want you to react to when you hear the crowd.
28:59Okay.
29:00All right.
29:01They're with you.
29:02Mm-hmm.
29:02If you don't do anything, over time, they're not gonna be with you when you need them.
29:06Yeah.
29:07All right.
29:07I thought this was a solid match, dude.
29:10Nice job.
29:11Congrats.
29:12Thank you so much.
29:14Coach Bloom was very proud of us.
29:16He saw improvements in us this week, so that's all we can ask for.
29:23How you doing?
29:25Good.
29:26Good.
29:27Good.
29:28Good, good, good.
29:28All right.
29:29Yeah, I worked with Booker this week, and he's awesome.
29:31I love working with him.
29:31He has the best advice.
29:32When you did drop down and did that real chin lock, for me, it was always .
29:38You wanna hear that?
29:40I need to hear that first, you know what I mean?
29:42And it means nothing, but it means everything.
29:44Really, Booker just wanted us to focus on the little things.
29:47Like, he told me to make sure that I'm really clapping before I'm putting in a hole.
29:51He wasn't really worried about the moves and stuff like that.
29:54He just wanted me to focus on the little things.
29:56So, the first time I did it, it felt like I wasn't really in control?
29:59Well, it looked like you just, you know, she was just there, and you just went over to get it.
30:02Okay.
30:03Because she's, you know, because that's the spot.
30:05Like, I gotta get to the new thing.
30:05I don't care if you're gonna have the same spot.
30:08Mm-hmm.
30:09But I need you to get to that spot.
30:11Okay.
30:11Sorry.
30:16Passionate.
30:16Yeah.
30:17I love working with Booker.
30:18He's so passionate, and he knows what he's talking about.
30:21He knows his business.
30:22See what I mean right there?
30:23Freeze that.
30:25I need you to look like you're in control right there for a moment.
30:29Talk to Layla about having control and looking like you're in control.
30:34Go down.
30:37Bang!
30:38That's what I need right there.
30:40Oh, come on, Armstrong.
30:42Booker's saying how you walk around the ring, or how you move in between a kick out, or how you
30:47kick out.
30:48Boom.
30:49See, now we got space.
30:50Now I can walk around and frickin' I can see where I'm at.
30:54You know, it's that.
30:54It's that.
30:55Those little things that really take it to the next level is kind of what I need to focus on.
31:00Every time I do that, it gets a really good reaction.
31:02So how do I capitalize on that?
31:04Or just let it through?
31:05That's when you get the crowd even more excited.
31:07That's when you get them all the way up.
31:09F***ing getting them up here.
31:11Okay.
31:11And now we gonna go up and do this s*** and get f***ing caught.
31:13Got you.
31:14Okay.
31:14That's your moment.
31:15That's why you did that.
31:18Got you.
31:19I definitely love working with him because he helps put all the pieces together.
31:22All right.
31:23I've done my job.
31:26You're hilarious, Booker.
31:28I'm serious.
31:29Yeah.
31:32As the crowd settles in for the main event, Callie and Layla get some last-minute advice
31:38from Coach Booker.
31:40Callie, y'all ready?
31:41Yes, we are.
31:43I'm gonna be looking for the small things, so that's the most important thing for me
31:47in this match.
31:48Let's get it done.
31:49Let's get it.
31:52Let's get it.
31:53Let's go.
31:55Yeah.
31:55You got your legends and your future dreams.
31:57Well, the time has arrived.
32:00It is main event time on Legends and Future Greats.
32:05And we have two superstars who are looking to stand out from our women's division.
32:10Oh, we're looking forward to this.
32:11We're talking about two world-class college athletes out of California.
32:16One from Fresno, one from UFC, USC.
32:20And, of course, they're both about to tangle inside this ring.
32:23Both track athletes, both about to get it done, and both want a spot on NXT.
32:27Let's see it.
32:29You were accepted to USC, weren't you?
32:31Yes, of course.
32:33One of the two.
32:36Yeah.
32:38Yeah.
32:39Yeah.
32:41Yeah.
32:41Yeah.
32:42Yeah.
32:42Yeah.
32:42Yeah.
32:42The following contest is scheduled for one fall.
32:47Introducing first, from Fresno, California, Leila Diggs.
32:53Well, you can see the infectious energy bubbling off the personality of Diggs, who is set for this main event.
33:02And as we talk about each and every week, a life, a career can change in an instant.
33:09In an instant, we've seen it happen time and time again.
33:12After the matchup, I always look forward to hear what Shawn Michaels is going to say.
33:15Are they ready to take that next step, that next leap, that next elevation in their career?
33:20Well, Leila Diggs happens to think she belongs there.
33:23And she's going to have a chance to prove it in this matchup.
33:27Go, go, go, go, go, go.
33:32On your mark, engines ready, get set, let go.
33:38Let's go.
33:40Get out of my way, get out of my way.
33:41I gotta go, I gotta get out of my way.
33:43And her opponent, from Englewood, California, Callie Armstrong.
33:56And you've been following this woman's career.
33:59She is looking to take that next step in her career.
34:07And I kind of want to go back to the first LFG of this season.
34:13Kendall Gray took a giant leap in her own career.
34:16A huge leap in just just to show you what can happen.
34:20The magic that can unfold before our very own eyes on this program.
34:23When opportunity knocks.
34:26Courtesy of the Heartbreak Head Shawn Michaels going to NXT.
34:28We've seen it.
34:30We've seen it firsthand on this program.
34:32And of course, Callie Armstrong knocking, knocking, knocking at that door.
34:36Saying Shawn Michaels, check this out.
34:38I'm ready for NXT.
34:39She's going to have a chance to prove it here against Leila Diggs.
34:42You're about to break into the course of knocking on Heaven's door there for a second, JB.
34:45I was going to say this isn't karaoke at Big Daddy's.
34:47It's LFG here on A&E.
34:49Oh, yeah.
34:50Well, of course, Callie Armstrong from Englewood.
34:52Englewood up to no good in this ring.
34:54And she's certainly a track and field athlete.
34:56Comes to us from USC.
34:59She not only held a world record for sprint medley relay, but top of her game, top of her class.
35:07And really excelled in track and field.
35:09She uses that in the ring.
35:12She uses that extreme skills that she has, next level, to get the job done in the ring.
35:16We're going to have to see if she can incorporate those skills and see how that comes about.
35:24Well, if you start breaking this matchup down, you would assume that Callie Armstrong, who right now goes up, goes
35:29over.
35:30Turns right back around looking for a hip toss.
35:31It's blocked by Diggs for a moment.
35:33And take a look at this offense with a split.
35:36You would think that Callie Armstrong would be the favorite after everything we've talked about for what she's already accomplished
35:41in the ring.
35:42But J.B. Diggs is holding her own.
35:44Layla Diggs has been here just a little bit longer at the Performance Center.
35:48Has the edge when it comes to the training, the experience in the ring.
35:51Callie Armstrong still finding her way.
35:53An incredible athlete.
35:54Take nothing away from her.
35:57But the success came early for Callie Armstrong.
35:59Whereas Layla Diggs has earned every bit of it along the way.
36:07Going right to the body.
36:09And now just driving those legs going back to that track start background.
36:14And take a look at the speed.
36:16Pick it up and feel the impact from Armstrong.
36:20Well, Callie comes from a speed, a sprinting background.
36:24Whereas Layla Diggs jumped in track and field.
36:27You can see the difference in how they roll that out.
36:30Layla Diggs is feeling the effect of a boot there from Callie Armstrong, who has been so effective.
36:37Into the cover hook of the outside leg in a near fall.
36:40What a matchup this has been.
36:42I think Diggs coming out of the gates in this matchup really showed what she is made of inside the
36:49ring.
36:49And I think kind of had the WWE Universe here on their feet, feeling that maybe we could see an
36:55upset.
36:55But now things are starting to get back into place where Callie Armstrong likes it.
37:00Slow, methodical.
37:02She could break it out, but now the pace quickening and a near fall.
37:05Well, I asked Callie Armstrong right before she came out through the curtain.
37:08I said, are you ready? Are you ready for NXT?
37:12She goes, I'm not ready. I just stay ready.
37:14No!
37:16That's fair though.
37:17That's so big!
37:17And if you stay ready, you don't have to get ready.
37:25Into the cover, a unique one at that and another kick out.
37:28Great job by our official in this matchup. Just a two count.
37:31But Callie Armstrong has certainly turned this matchup around and now continuing.
37:35And it seems to have found an area of the body.
37:38And that being the back of Layla Diggs trying to wear down her opponent.
37:43Because as we've seen early on, Diggs is someone who once she gets a little bit of momentum,
37:47she starts to fly around the ring.
37:51Obviously, Callie Armstrong looking to ground Layla Diggs.
37:56Armstrong coming right back in. Caught an elbow.
37:58And this right now for Diggs. Pivotal point in the match.
38:00Trying to create a little bit of separation to get her wits back about her.
38:04Diggs knows that she coming in as the underdog in this contest would love to pick up a victory.
38:09As you said, would be an upset.
38:12And would that upset be enough to possibly earn her a contract from Shawn Michaels?
38:17Combination offense ends it with a step up in Seguri rocking Armstrong back.
38:21And I don't think Armstrong JB would be standing if it were not for those turnbikes.
38:26She was packed right into the corner.
38:28There's a knee to follow up by Layla Diggs.
38:31Could this be it?
38:32Center of the ring.
38:33And another near fall.
38:35It's Armstrong now just able to kick out.
38:39You can see Callie Armstrong got rocked by that knee in the corner.
38:43It's up to Layla Diggs to follow up.
38:46What a big right hand.
38:48That would stop anybody.
38:49But Diggs fighting right back.
38:50Give her credit where credit is due.
38:52And if this turns into a slugfest, Jeremy, I would tend to think it'd be Callie Armstrong who would have
38:57the advantage.
39:00Whoa, and that counter.
39:02Inside cradle and almost an upset.
39:05Armstrong back up.
39:06What the heck was that?
39:12Layla Diggs is showing up.
39:13And now she could be showing out as she's pulling herself, willing herself.
39:19Will the high risk, will it pay off?
39:23No, it didn't.
39:24Countered with a massive power slam.
39:31The speed of Callie Armstrong.
39:33And talk about the impact.
39:36Shoots the half.
39:38Good night.
39:43Here is your winner, Callie Armstrong.
39:51Another win, another impressive showing.
39:55You can say that one again, JB.
39:57I mean, this had it all in it.
39:58Give credit where credit is due to Diggs.
40:00Armstrong in the end.
40:01Maybe it was just everything she's learned in a short time.
40:06When we go back to Evolve, show the presence of mind to kick out in that moment to continue this
40:11fight.
40:11And for Armstrong to be able to, bam, just fly out the gates.
40:18High impact offense as we've seen in the past.
40:22Big win.
40:22But let's not focus on the past.
40:25Let's look towards the future.
40:26And what does the future hold for Callie Armstrong?
40:31That girl's got something.
40:33She's got something.
40:34She's got all the freaking jewels there to be a big star.
40:44She a warrior.
40:45I ain't gonna lie.
40:46We went to war.
40:48You okay?
40:49All right, thank you.
40:50You all right?
40:51Yes.
40:52How'd you get there?
40:53I don't know.
40:55I don't know.
40:56I guess that's good.
40:57I didn't even get exactly sure where you got her from.
40:59Yeah.
40:59When Callie jumped on me, and so I came up, and then she ate my forehead.
41:04And I got a nice little gash on my head.
41:07Thank you all very much.
41:08Good stuff.
41:08Thank you all.
41:10John shook her hand.
41:12He said, great job.
41:12I mean, anytime you get anything from Shawn Michaels himself, that's a win.
41:18How'd y'all feel that day?
41:20I think it was fast.
41:21Yeah.
41:22Yeah.
41:22Could've had more time.
41:24Like, breathing moments, like you said.
41:26Mm-hmm.
41:27You never gave me a dominant position.
41:29Okay.
41:30You never gave me that shot.
41:32Uh-huh.
41:33Layla Diggs can go out and do all the moves, but that's not what's gonna take her to the next
41:38level.
41:39The pain-lay kick was beautiful, but after you hit the pain-lay kick, you got up still selling.
41:44You're supposed to got up, yeah, because that's when you get ready to take it home.
41:48That's when you know exactly what's getting ready to happen.
41:51And you know you don't want the reason why it's happening that way.
41:54Yeah.
41:55I know I can execute well, but now it's the emotion, the feeling, the fire, the intensity,
42:01being on top, being dominant, so just kind of working on those things.
42:04You showed me, um, all the spots I needed, you know what I mean?
42:08I clapped.
42:09Yeah.
42:09I saw that.
42:10I saw that.
42:13It's that small, but it's that big.
42:16The powers play up was perfect.
42:20He just wanted me to focus on the little things, and when I came back, he said that I did
42:24all those little things that he was working on.
42:26All right, good job.
42:27All right.
42:28I feel good.
42:29I feel good.
42:30It's progress.
42:30I've gotten better, and all you can ask here is each match you're progressing, and I feel like each match
42:35I have progressed, so that's all I can ask for.
42:38Yeah.
42:40Kylie definitely passed the test, and she's on her way to becoming great, so it's just a matter of time.
42:47She's athletic, she's hungry, really high potential talent.
42:54She's kind of been waiting her time, but tonight, coming out of this match, the possibilities could be endless.
43:00They gave me no clue about how to say it was.
43:01Seriously.
43:01Cool.
43:01Who knows help some peopleiy Wal- Ontario?
43:03Who knows?
