00:00A major court hearing begins today in Charlie Kirk's murder case, and it's going to be an
00:04emotional one. The conservative activist's parents and his widow, Erica, will likely be there to
00:09attend the five-day preliminary hearing in Utah, where prosecutors will begin laying out their
00:14case against accused gunman Tyler Robinson. A judge will then decide whether it's enough for
00:19the case to move forward to trial. Prosecutors are expected to present graphic evidence,
00:23including video of the shooting and details from Kirk's autopsy. Now, attorneys agreed to warn
00:28Kirk's family before those portions take place in open court, so they can choose whether to remain
00:33in the courtroom. Robinson is accused of fatally shooting Kirk as he spoke before a crowd of
00:37thousands at Utah Valley University last September. Prosecutors are also expected to present messages
00:43that they say show Robinson admitting to the shooting in communications with his former
00:47roommate and lover, Lance Twiggs, along with video of Twiggs' interview with investigators.
00:52Now, Robinson has not yet entered a plea. In all likelihood, this case will move on to trial,
00:57and if convicted, he could face the death penalty.
