00:04their last fight? From the tragedy that happened to Patrick Day due to severe brain injury in 2019,
00:09to the collapse of Brad Roan in the middle of a match because of cardiac arrest,

00:29Patrick Day was not only a great boxer, but he was also one of the most respected and
00:35hardworking athletes of his generation. He was born in 1992 in Freeport, New York.
00:42Even as a child, he was already interested in boxing and immediately showed his exceptional
00:46talent. Because of his skill, he became a champion in the prestigious New York Golden Gloves
00:51and was even chosen as an alternate for the U.S. Olympic team in 2012.
00:56When he turned professional, he quickly became known as a smart and technical boxer.
01:02He doesn't shy away from tough fights and always faces every challenge with courage.
01:07On October 12, 2019, Patrick Day stepped into the ring to face Charles Conwell.
01:13This was another big opportunity for him to prove his abilities and take his career to the next level.
01:20The fight was close in the early rounds, but as time went on, Conwell gradually gained the advantage.
01:27His powerful punches were landing more frequently.
01:31By the 10th round, Conwell unleashed a heavy combination of punches that finally knocked Day
01:37down to the canvas. He was unable to get back up. The medical team immediately entered the ring
01:43and found Day unconscious. He was quickly rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered that he had
01:49suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. His brain was extremely swollen, so he needed immediate
01:55surgery in an attempt to save his life. For four days, he remained in a coma while fighting for his
02:01life. But on October 16, 2019, he finally passed away at the age of 27. Charles Conwell was deeply
02:11saddened by what happened. After the incident, he even wrote an emotional letter to Patrick Day's family.
02:17He said that he never wanted to hurt or take anyone's life inside the ring.
02:22Every boxer knows that their profession comes with risks. But despite this, nothing can truly prepare
02:29you for the possibility of seeing your opponent unable to get back up again.
02:36Maxim Dadashev
02:38Maxim Dadashev was one of the boxers who left this world early because of a very tragic incident.
02:43He was born in Russia in 1990 and had a very impressive amateur career before finally turning
02:50professional. He became known for his aggressive fighting style and his seemingly endless strength
02:56and endurance in every match. Many believe that he is destined to become a world champion someday.
03:03In July 2017, he faced Subriel Matias in a match that many boxing fans were looking forward to.
03:10The fight was intense. Both of them exchanged heavy punches. But as time went on, Matias gradually took
03:18control of the match. Despite the severe damage he was taking, Dadashev kept on fighting. He didn't want to
03:25give up even though the effects of the punches on his body were obvious. By the 11th round, his trainer,
03:32Buddy McGirt, saw that his boxer was in serious danger. Even though Dadashev didn't want to stop,
03:39McGirt made the very difficult decision to end the fight in an attempt to save his life. Dadashev left the
03:45ring with the help of his team, but he didn't get far. While heading backstage, he suddenly collapsed.
03:51He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered that his brain was also severely
03:57swollen. Just like what happened to Patrick Day, he also needed to undergo emergency surgery.
04:03For four days, he continued to fight for his life, but on July 23, 2019, he passed away at the
04:11age of 28.
04:11Buddy McGirt was deeply saddened. In an interview after the tragedy, he said that he stopped the fight
04:19because he knew his boxer was already in danger. But unfortunately, it was already too late. The
04:26injuries Dadashev sustained were too severe to save him. His passing once again reminds us how brutal and
04:32dangerous the world of boxing is. He was a brave, skilled, and excellent boxer who still had so much
04:40more to show in the ring. Hugo Alfredo Santillan was one of the young boxers with great potential
04:48from Argentina. He grew up in a family that loved boxing, so from a young age, he was molded by
04:53it.
04:54His passion for the sport was intense. He trained diligently every day. He hoped that one day,
04:59his name would be known in the world of boxing. He fought in the lightweight and super lightweight
05:05divisions, where he became known for his toughness, courage, and determination to never give up.
05:11On July 22, 2019, he faced Eduardo Javier Abreu in a fight that would completely change his life.
05:18Their battle lasted 10 rounds, and when the final bell rang, he remained standing while waiting for
05:25the judge's decision. But something strange was happening to his body. He was shaking, having
05:31trouble breathing, and after just a few moments, he collapsed and could barely move. The medical
05:36team immediately approached him and rushed him to the hospital. There, the doctors discovered that
05:41his brain was severely swollen due to the series of punches he received during the fight. He was
05:46immediately taken in for emergency surgery, but his condition was already very critical. On July 25,
05:522019, he passed away at the young age of 23. The entire boxing community was shocked and saddened by
06:00his sudden passing. He entered the ring full of dreams and hope, but he never made it out alive.
06:07Dooku Kim was a brave and aggressive boxer from South Korea. He grew up in poverty, so boxing became his
06:16hope to give his family a better life. Because of his hard work, he was given the chance to fight
06:23for
06:23the world title against the famous Ray Mancini on November 13, 1982. This was the biggest fight of his
06:30career, but it would also be his last. The fight was extremely intense. Neither of them backed down as
06:38they exchanged heavy punches. As the fight went on, Mancini gradually took control. By the 14th round,
06:45he was hit by a series of powerful punches that knocked Kim down to the canvas. He tried to get
06:52up, but his body would no longer respond. Soon after, he lost consciousness. He was rushed to the
06:58hospital where doctors discovered that he had suffered a very severe brain injury. He underwent
07:04surgery, but it was no longer enough to save his life. On November 17, 1982, he passed away.
07:12The entire boxing world was shaken by what happened to him. Because of this tragedy,
07:18important changes were implemented in boxing rules to protect the safety of athletes.
07:24One of the biggest changes was reducing championship fights from 15 rounds to 12 rounds,
07:31a rule that is still used today. The passing of Duke Ku Kim remains one of the most significant and
07:39painful events in the history of boxing. Benny Parrott, also known as Kid Parrott, was a Cuban
07:47welterweight champion known for his strong chin and fearless fighting style. He never backed down from
07:55any fight and was always ready to go toe-to-toe until the very last moment. One of his most
08:00famous rivals
08:01was Emil Griffith. Their intense rivalry became one of the most notable in boxing history. However,
08:09their third and final encounter ended in tragedy. On March 24, 1962, they faced each other again in the
08:16ring. Their previous fights were already intense, but nothing could prepare them for what would happen
08:22this time. Before the fight began, Perrette was known for taunting his opponents and he even personally
08:28insulted Griffith. As soon as the first bell rang, the two boxers immediately exchanged heavy punches.
08:34The fight was close up until the 12th round. That's when everything changed. Griffith unleashed
08:40a series of punches while Perrette was trapped against the ropes of the ring. So many punches
08:45landed while Perrette could barely fight back. Unfortunately, the referee stopped the fight too late.
08:52Perrette completely collapsed on the canvas, unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital,
08:57but it was discovered that the damage to his brain was severe. He remained in a coma for 10 days
09:02and
09:03never regained consciousness. On April 3, 1962, Benny Perrette finally passed away. This tragedy became one
09:11of the darkest chapters in the history of boxing and served as a reminder of how dangerous this sport is,
09:18even for the best fighters inside the ring. Many said that the referee should have stopped the fight
09:26earlier. Others questioned the sport of boxing itself because of what happened. Benny Perrette was one
09:33of the best fighters of his time. But in the end, the very sport he loved was the one that
09:39took his life.
09:42Davey Moore was an American boxer known for his exceptional speed, punching power, and aggressive
09:48style inside the ring. As the world featherweight champion, he was considered one of the best
09:54boxers of his generation. But on March 21, 1963, his fate changed forever. That night, he defended his
10:04title against the Cuban boxer Sugar Ramos. The fight was intense and neither wanted to lose. They exchanged heavy
10:12punches in almost every round. By the tenth round, Ramos unleashed a powerful combination of punches that
10:20pushed Moore onto the ropes. His head snapped back hard from the impact, but he still managed to stay
10:26on his feet and finish the fight. When the final bell rang, Moore was still standing. At first glance,
10:33it seemed like nothing serious had happened. But when he returned to his dressing room,
10:37he suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered that he had
10:43suffered severe damage to his brain stem. The injury was extremely severe and there was no cure.
10:49He remained unconscious for two days. On March 23, 1963, Davey Moore passed away at the age of 29.
10:57The boxing world was greatly shocked by his passing because he was not even knocked out during the fight
11:02itself. However, it is believed that the final strong punch, along with the accumulated injuries
11:09from many years of fighting in the ring, caused his death. Because of this incident,
11:14the debate about the safety of boxing intensified once again. Some even called for the sport to be
11:20completely banned. However, boxing still continued. Johnny Owen
11:26Johnny Owen was a British boxer from Wales, known for his remarkable toughness and intense
11:31determination. Because of his thin physique, fans called him the murthier matchstick. But don't
11:38be fooled by his appearance. Inside the ring, he was one of the toughest warriors of his time. He
11:44gradually climbed the ranks until he was given the chance to fight for the WBC Bantamweight Championship
11:50against Lupe Pintor on September 19, 1980. This was the biggest fight of his career. But he didn't
11:58know it would also be his last. In the early rounds, Owen was able to showcase his speed and footwork
12:03well. He was able to evade Pintor's punches and score points using his technical style. But as the
12:10fight went on, Pintor's strength started to dominate. By the 12th round, a powerful right punch landed and
12:19immediately knocked Owen to the canvas. He never regained consciousness. He was immediately rushed to the
12:25hospital where doctors discovered that he had suffered a very severe brain injury. He remained
12:30in a coma for seven weeks while continuing to fight for his life. But his body could no longer endure.
12:37On November 4, 1980, he finally passed away at the age of 24. His community in Wales was overcome with
12:45grief. He was not only an excellent boxer, but also a humble, hardworking, and beloved person who always gave
12:53his all in every fight. Randy Carver
12:57Randy Carver was an American boxer known for his heart, hard work, and determination inside the ring.
13:04He was born in Kansas City, and from the very beginning, he dreamed of becoming a world champion.
13:10Because of his impressive record and tireless effort in every training session and fight, many believed
13:16that he would go far in the world of boxing. Many believed that Randy Carver had a very bright future
13:23in the world of boxing. On September 12, 1999, he stepped into the ring to face Kabari Salem.
13:30This was supposed to be another step towards bigger fights and greater opportunities in his career.
13:35But that night, everything ended in tragedy. The fight was intense, and neither wanted to give an
13:42advantage. As the match went on, Carver took more and more powerful punches. By the 10th round,
13:49he suddenly collapsed on the canvas. His brain could no longer handle the successive damage from the
13:55punches. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered severe swelling in his brain.
14:01He was placed in a coma while they tried to save his life. But his condition was very serious.
14:07Just two days later, on September 14, 1999, he passed away at the age of 24.
14:16Batavian Scotland was an American boxer known for his resilience and tremendous
14:23courage inside the ring. Even though he wasn't among the most famous names in boxing,
14:28everyone who saw him fight knew he was a true warrior. He dreamed of being recognized and
14:33succeeding in the sport he loved. On June 26, 2001, he was given the chance to showcase his
14:40talent in a fight that would be seen nationwide. He faced George Jones in a light heavyweight bout.
14:46The exchange of punches was intense, but as the rounds went by, Jones gradually took control.
14:52In the 10th round, a heavy combination of punches landed that dropped Scotland to the canvas.
14:57He never got up again. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors discovered that he had suffered
15:04severe brain damage. He remained in a coma for six days while continuing to fight for his life.
15:11But on July 1, 2001, he finally passed away at the age of 26. This is yet another sad reminder
15:18of how
15:18great the risks are that come with professional boxing.
15:23Roman Simakov was one of the most promising young boxers in Russia. He had the strength,
15:31skill, and technical ability needed to become a champion. Many believed that one day he would
15:37become one of the best in his weight division. But everything changed on December 5, 2011.
15:44That night, he faced Sergei Kovalev, a very powerful puncher who would later become a world champion.
15:50From the very start, the fight was already brutal. Simakov kept taking heavy punches,
15:57but he refused to give up. In the 7th round, Kovalev unleashed a series of powerful punches that
16:04finally knocked Simakov down. He lost consciousness right there in the ring. He was immediately rushed
16:11to the hospital where doctors discovered severe swelling in his brain. For three days,

16:30The entire boxing community was shaken by his passing. Sergei Kovalev was deeply affected by what
16:35happened. Eventually, he even dedicated one of his world title fights in memory of Simakov,
16:40a testament that even though they were opponents inside the ring, boxers still have deep respect for each
16:47other.
