Jian Lian and Think BRICS reveal how China, geopolitics, and de-dollarization are reshaping the Global South. Explore the reality of China manufacturing, China inflation, and the shifting world economy today.

While the Western economy remains trapped in an inflation crisis, a monumental economic shift is occurring in the East. In this first episode of our "Decoding China" series, we analyze the revolutionary "New China" logic that mainstream analysts often miss. We dive deep into the manufacturing "spiral"—a unique industrial policy and productivity engine that has allowed China to achieve zero inflation while the rest of the global trade system struggles. This isn't just about "state capitalism" or a "Communist state" label; it is a fundamental redesign of how a nation-state manages productive forces to ensure economic sovereignty and social stability.

As we move toward a multipolarity-driven era, China is quietly building a parallel world. From the expansion of the CIPS monetary system to the strategic growth of the BRICS+ alliance, the world affairs landscape is witnessing the most significant structural change in 80 years. We explore how China economic growth is no longer dependent on Western consumption but is instead focused on internal productivity and Global South cooperation.

If you want to understand the future of global finance, the impact of the ongoing trade war, and how the international relations landscape is being redrawn by Jian Lian's "productivism," this analysis is essential. We explore why the West is "frozen" in outdated theories while the BRICS expansion offers a new blueprint for the global order and a new world order based on real production rather than financialization.

While this video provides an in-depth look at China’s role in the BRICS news cycle and the broader economic shift toward multipolarity, it does not provide specific investment advice or individual stock market picks. Our focus remains on the macro-level geopolitics of de-dollarization and the structural changes in the global monetary system rather than short-term trading signals or financial speculation.

Additionally, while we discuss the inflation crisis, China manufacturing, and global finance, this video is not a technical tutorial on how to use CIPS or specific banking software. We do not cover internal political disputes within individual BRICS partner countries, nor do we provide a granular breakdown of every specific trade war tariff currently in negotiation.

This analysis is focused on the "Decoding China" narrative and the broader global order shift; therefore, it does not include a historical recap of ancient Chinese dynasties or unrelated cultural travelogues. Our goal is to provide a high-level strategic overview of how China economic growth and industrial policy are reclaiming economic sovereignty for the Global South. This video is intended for those seeking to understand the "big picture" of international relations and the de-west

00:00Hello everyone, this is Jianlian, an economist and industry expert focusing in geopolitics from
00:06Hanzhou Economic Research, Think Tank China. I'm also the Chinese friend of Think Greeks.
00:11Starting today, I will launch a new series called Decoding China. Over the past three years,
00:17I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries. I also received lots of foreign
00:21guests here in China. Some of them are from Western countries, some from Russia, and some
00:26from Global South. During these years, China has become the world's center of attention,
00:31without any doubt. I believe that China's visa-free entry policy for foreign visitors studying China
00:37has greatly speed up the learning of China today. When foreigners see China with their own eyes,
00:44they'll phone their own opinions. I'm glad that these real-life experiences have largely broken
00:50the false narrative on China spread by the Western mainstream media between 2015
00:56and 2022. Facts will speak for themselves. Now, more and more people describe China
01:02as a country living in the future. I hear these words from time to time in the past months,
01:08especially from people from Europe and America, I mean developed countries. They often say such
01:15things after living in China or watching the videos filmed in China. For many Chinese people,
01:20actually such comment is quite surprising for us. We are proud of our fast-changing society
01:26achievements. Yet, what looks like a futuristic scenario to foreign visitors is just our daily lives.
01:34Foreigners are amazed by China's many, I call what I call as name-cast key scenery. For example,
01:41high-speed trains, electrical vehicles, solar and wind power, clean cities and towns and villages,
01:49plenty of public cars in these cities, tidy shops, delivery robots in hotels,
01:56cashless payment methods. And by the way, actually we have rarely even used bank cards for 13 years,
02:03widespread everywhere, 4G and 5G networks, fully online business and government services,
02:10and also the low-cost healthcare and medicine. All these achievements have existed in China for many years,
02:18or what I call from 4 years to 70 years. For example, the high-speed railway network began to go
02:24into our
02:24life 17 years ago and continued growing. While the hotel delivery robots, which many of the guests,
02:31foreign people, come here notice, start to appear in our daily life about 4 years ago.
02:38Changes are still going on very rapidly. The latest I can share with you is that people are
02:45turning to AIAPP for information. Chinese AIAPPs are quickly becoming our part of daily life. For
02:52example, for myself, I use Doubao, China's AIAPP, dozens of times more often this year than last year.
02:59I know that over the past five years or so, life in Western countries and Global South has not
03:05improved much because of the reason of continuous inflation. Whereas in contrast, China is in the
03:13opposite situation. We have almost no inflation, or I can say it's even only deflation. Every day,
03:21here, today, it's not only deflation. Today, many of the daily goods is cost less than what they did
03:29seven or eight years ago. And while at the same time, the quality maybe greatly improves because of new
03:34technology application. So this huge gap, I mean, in Western, there's inflation. In China, there's
03:40deflation. It has made China look like more like an ideal country, or in English world, utopia to many of
03:46foreigners who visit China. Still, I should say that such utopia image does not match much with how
03:54Chinese people see ourselves. Our society has its own concerns. Many of these problems are actually
04:01oriented from our overly productive economy, and our fast growth, and our extremely high efficiency.
04:09Because of this, I call it fierce competition among companies, and you know, people are employees of
04:15companies. They also produce or not only consumers. So this, in this direction, it creates heavy pressure
04:21on people, leading to many of social problems, such as over low birth rates. Actually, a well-known
04:28patriotic influencer of my friends told his foreign friends also that don't picture China so perfect, or
04:35you are, you are, you are picturing China as too good. Clearly, today's China needs a proper explanation,
04:42especially now that the world see China as a futuristic nation. Clear explanation will help the world to
04:51understand China better, and make other countries reflect on their their paths of development, and see
04:57what can be improved. So, in fact, or at the same time, I should say, today, many foreign researchers on
05:04China
05:04often have, holds very conflicting views about China. So that is a problem, or I could, I could, okay, I
05:11would say that is a puzzle. From my personal international exchange experience over the past three years,
05:19I have noticed a problem. Due to language problem barrier, partly, and due to recent changes in China's
05:27administrative systems arrangement, very few Chinese people, especially those who truly understand how
05:34Chinese system is operated, can get the opportunity to systematically explain to the world how all this
05:41happened in China, in a simple, understandable language. Also, I should say that hardly anyone in
05:48China has fully reviewed and concluded Chinese development over the past 20 years. Not everyone
05:56can fully master the knowledge of economics, particularly, I mean, the mainstream economics has
06:01some problems. They also master knowledge of sociology or industry knowledge technology to explain how China
06:08achieved all of this. To some degree, even we Chinese underestimate how fast and how far China has gone.
06:16If a Chinese person lived in China in 2000, I mean, 26 years ago, traveled to today's China with a
06:23time machine,
06:24supposedly, I'm sure that he will also be very shocked by these 26 years of dramatic change. Hence, we need
06:32both the big picture analysis and real-life examples to explain China's growth. Every big change in China
06:39follow actually very clear logical rules. Let's take example, the hotel delivered robbers that many of
06:46our even the people from the West will be amazed at. One of the newest Chinese trends, they actually
06:53become widely used between 2020 and 2023. That is why I say that it become popular about four or five
06:59years ago.
06:59So to explain this happen, this is a, I could say, macro level case. Three factors made this happen in
07:06China. First,
07:07there is, there was a strict anti-COVID isolation rules from 2020-2022. This created real and solid demands in
07:16Chinese society in the hotel industry. Second, the industrial level AGV, that is basically that's movements of robbers.
07:24These transport robbers become fully technology material by the year of 2020, with accumulation of technology around five years from
07:312015-2020. Third, the Chinese business culture is to compete fiercely. So when the new technology
07:39appears, it usually becomes common within two or three years. So the prices of such hotel delivery robbers
07:46dropped sharply. In 2020, one robber cost, if you convert to US dollar, is $13,000. And by 2025,
07:54this price has failed to around $2,000 to $3,000. Hotels can even rent such robbers from manufacturers for
08:03$14 to $18 each month. So that is the case to tell you that every major change in Chinese society
08:11has
08:12clear logic and unique explanation. And as a witness of almost the entire process of China's dramatic
08:20development miracle, I will be able to contribute to the explanation. When I was in university,
08:27actually, I saw the takeoff of China's high-speed growth model in these recent three decades. When
08:32I lived through the 2008 financial crisis globally, which started an end to the old wave of Western-led
08:40globalization. And also, after that, I have witnessed the fast upgrading of China's industry,
08:47especially manufacturing, since 2010. That is,
08:50in the past 15 years. And also, as an insider who followed implementation of what I, maybe you
08:57heard of, Made in China 2025. I'm an insider person. So I understand our development system fully,
09:04and also I understand its strengths and weaknesses. I have, and also at the same time, I have a relatively
09:09solid knowledge of the major global powers today, including USA, including Europe, and Russia. So that
09:14is why I'm ready to tell you how China turned into what is today, what I believe the China's bright
09:21future
09:21will be, and how China will build the relationship with the rest of the world.
09:26Many foreign public figures, including those people who once held some kinds of hostile or negative views
09:34or China, or feel jealous of our Chinese progress, but still be honest and consistent in their logic.
09:41So I still treat such a, you know, person as friends, and people who were into dialogue,
09:46such as Tuck and Carson from the United States, and Paki Sharma from India.
09:49So I'm sure that they want to know the real China, definitely. And I will tell them. So I will
09:56offer
09:56my answer. I'm glad to build this bridge between China and the world. I will share the history facts
10:03together with my analysis. I will avoid all cliches from West and offer truly unique point of view.
10:09Better understanding will reduce misunderstanding. I always believe that. And also as a geopolitical
10:14realist, I believe that the Western-led globalization has come to the end, and all unavoidably collapsed.
10:22I hope to help to shape a better global future. These are the main ideas I will share in this
10:28series,
10:28Decoding China. Now here's some previews of the key topics that you can expect from Decoding China.
10:34Firstly, I should say that anyhow you call it futuristic or utopia or a peaceful social environment in China
10:41that impressed many, including those visitors from developed countries. It's built on extremely
10:47strong productivity. So productivity development is a core element. And second, I should say that China,
10:55I should give an example. For example, China is one of the very few countries in the world today where
11:00people are never worried about the loss to their smartphones, because no one in China will steal
11:05smartphones, because they are worthless to sell it in Chinese society. And also, I can say that people
11:11even didn't feel about the theft on our cars, because electric cars are no longer luxury goods in China.
11:18Well, it is a luxury goods in Europe and America, but it's not in China. They're just common family
11:23cars for ordinary Chinese citizens. And China's achievements in contrast with today's West come from
11:31two sides. So firstly, I should say China choose our own effective development path. Well, at the same
11:38time, I should say many developed countries maybe they made serious policy mistake. And worse still,
11:45they taught these wrong theories into the elites from Global South and even Russia in 1990s, since 1990s.
11:52So it's trapping these countries in failure. So these four Western economic theories also influence some
11:58Chinese thinkers. I mean, many of those Chinese economies trained overseas in Western countries.
12:03That explains actually, ironically, that economies is not so respected in China today, because
12:09many of them has actually made wrong judgment on China itself, on major national issues,
12:15since particularly after 2008. Now, come to China. I will give you some brief points, key points. After 1949,
12:22China was never an ordinary developing countries. Everyone knows that with 1978 as a milestone,
12:31before 1978 and after that, China is two different countries. But development in China did not start
12:37from zero in 1979. And from 1950 to 1970s, there's two rounds of industrialization has led foundation for our
12:46modern productive capacity. So long before China's explosive economic boom, China's already an outlier
12:54among developing countries. In the 1980s and 1990s, especially 1990s, that is a trial run for China's modern
13:02development model. But the core formula was not yet completed. The real turning point comes in early
13:0821st century. So I should say China quietly or unintentionally built a highly effective monetary
13:14system that strongly boosts productivity. And coupled with Chinese people's hard work, the economy took
13:21up rapidly. This growth is very different from the South Asian model, I should emphasize, which many
13:27Westerns used to think that in the early 2000s. And this model perfectly matched China's size, a super large
13:33country, a civilization level state. We quickly built the world's most complete industry chain or network,
13:40and together with a nationwide infrastructure network. These two systems will push each other forward,
13:46making a positive spiral rise. So that is the most important part of China's secret. Meanwhile, Chinese
13:54culture has always valued social equality, such as the idea of building a harmonious world for all
13:59people. Chinese tradition plus the modern socialist values will keep our society committed to fairness. So
14:07Chinese society will tend to cut many social costs and clear the paths for fast economic growth, an advantage
14:14that today's United States fail to understand. But I should say that United States used to have similar value in
14:21Roosevelt period. Today, our Chinese strong productivity provides solely material support for these socialist social
14:28policies, particularly in the fields of health care and education. So China's almost utopia or country living
14:36the future achievements today is built on the set of logic I mentioned about. So once you understand how the
14:44system
14:44operates or how the system was built, you will see how absurd and ignorant that those simplistic
14:52accused of the Western narrative are. They claim that China is merely communist states or that every Chinese
14:58company acts as an extension or agency of communist party. This is totally wrong. By the way, I'm not a
15:04party
15:04member. Even the label of state capitalism falls short of describing China accuracy. The manufacturing sector in
15:13China operates under fierce market competition. So it's very different from so-called state corporate uh state
15:19how to say state capitalism.
15:22But at the same time, I should say, China is not also not a radical or fundamentalist
15:26capitalistic system. That's some of the self-claimed Chinese expert claim. The Chinese state
15:32retain strong authority and the business owner and manufacturer in China cannot take over or control the Chinese
15:39governments. The state, Chinese state actively intervene the Chinese society to regulate, particularly to
15:45regulate big corporations, especially those so-called big tech or big internet monopolies. It will also
15:54deliver affordable, nice public service in essential areas such as health care and education, particularly
16:01after 2020. So today, another thing notable thing was no notice is that China's demand model is inevitably will
16:10extend beyond Chinese borders. Starting from 2023, Chinese people have been coming outside, you know, to other
16:20countries through the world, particularly global south, I should say accelerated pace. So this time it's a volunteer
16:26movement and not the country plan movement. That involves Chinese people from so many aspects of our society.
16:33So I think that we should explore what is most reasonable future relationship between China and the rest of the
16:39world.
16:40So this is my introduction. Let us begin our journey with Decoding China. Thank you.
