00:05Hey, MDLers! Best 10 C-Dramas based on K-Dramas. As a huge fan of Asian dramas, we are addicted
00:12to diving into all sorts of dramas from various Asian entertainment industries and discovering
00:17their various charms and styles of storytelling, production and visual aesthetics. Each country
00:24also takes inspiration from the other and remake famous dramas. Today we present to you 10 Chinese
00:30dramas that are based on Korean dramas. Remaking successful and widely loved Korean dramas has been
00:35quite the trend recently in China and we're absolutely loving it. Despite the fact that the
00:41two nations are close in proximity, they vary vastly in culture and aesthetics, which we can see
00:46reflected in the remade dramas. Each drama on this list remains pretty faithful to the original
00:52storyline but all have their own unique touch and that entirely C-Drama feeling about them.
00:58Without further ado, let's view these well-done C-Dramas based on K-Dramas.
01:0310. Love Through a Millennium We open our list with the 2015 remake of
01:09Queen Inhyun's Van. Love Through a Millennium follows the original storyline but adds some
01:14catchy twists here and there, but we must admit that it's a pretty good remake. The drama follows
01:20an imperial chef who falls into an assassin's ditch and casts a protection spell that sends
01:25him 2,000 years into the future in modern China where he almost gets run over by a vehicle. But
01:31he'll
01:32luckily be saved by a drunk no-name actress who introduces herself as Empress Zhu, the very
01:38endangered Queen he serves in his time. He keeps using the spell to help and save the Empress by
01:44changing some events in the past. With time, romance blooms between them, but how exactly can their
01:50relationship work? Love Through a Millennium delivers the same charming story and chemistry of the original
01:56K-Drama, but it definitely has its own touch that makes it so special.
02:059. Pretty Lee Hujian
02:08Is based on the hit K-Drama She Was Pretty. As you can probably gauge from the titles,
02:13the drama revolves around a girl who used to be gorgeous, but after her family's company goes
02:18bankrupt, she experiences hardships that make her lose her beauty. On the other end of the spectrum,
02:24we have the male lead who was an ordinary-looking guy in the past,
02:27but is now witty, successful, and very likable. Fate brings them together again, but the female
02:34lead is too embarrassed by the reversed fortune to take courage to even meet him and instead asks
02:40her attractive roommate to assume her identity. Her genius plan has two major flaws. One, he's her
02:46boss and she has to pretend to be someone else while working with him. Two, the boss falls for her,
02:52even without knowing her true identity. The original and the remake dramas are
02:57lighthearted, but inspire us to overcome our insecurities and appreciate people for who they are.
03:098. Midsummer is Full of Love
03:12Veteran drama fans gather up, this drama is for you! Midsummer is Full of Love is a 2020 remake of

03:19mega-popular 2004 drama Full House. The story of both dramas revolve around a musician, despite being
03:25tone deaf, aspires to make a splash in the music industry as a songwriter. Despite her cute looks,
03:31she's fiercely independent and strong-minded. One day, during an unfortunate drunken spell,
03:37she signs a power of attorney to give her house to her best friend, who in turn sells it to
03:42pay off
03:42her younger brother's debts. The buyer turns out to be an idol, who comes across a rude spoiled brat.
03:49Despite his cold exterior, he is actually secretly very childlike and kind of needy. Since our female lead
03:55has nowhere to go, the duo is forced to enter a contract marriage, to ward up gossip and to live

04:06personalities? You bet they will! 7. No Secrets
04:15Number 7 is a remake of the hit K-drama, I Hear Your Voice. No Secrets follows the story pretty
04:22nicely,
04:23but splashes in with its own colors. The story starts when a young boy witnesses the death of his father
04:28and almost dies too. But a passerby, a schoolgirl, saves him by photographing the killer and testifying
04:36against him. The boy falls for her and regards her as an ideal girl. Their fates re-intertwine 10 years
04:42later. Law brings them together again. In the present time, the male lead is a genius law student who can
04:49read minds. When he meets his crush again while working on a case, he sees nothing of the pristine
04:54girl he fell for. Instead, he's met with an impulsive, careless lawyer, but he doesn't think
04:59that this version of her is bad either. When the killer is released from prison, the male lead
05:04decides to become the lawyer's guardian angel, and he perhaps pursues his first love along the way.
05:15Number 6. Seven of Me
05:17In K-drama land, Kill Me, Heal Me is considered one of the best dramas of all times. It's only
05:23natural
05:23that we'd find a remake of it in C-drama land. Seven of Me
05:27The drama has many charms, like its intriguing plotline that revolves around a rich heir to a
05:32company who hides a secret from everyone around him. His secret is he suffers from dissociative
05:38identity disorder. As you can probably guess from the title, he has seven personalities living inside
05:44him. He was sent to the US when he was a child to get the needed psychological treatment. Fast forward
05:50to
05:51the present time, he's recalled back due to his father's illness. And by a stroke of fate,
05:56he meets the female lead who's a psychiatrist at the airport and persuades her to become his
06:01family's doctor. Watch the entertaining drama to see how the psychiatrist slowly learns that she'll
06:07always be bewildered and maybe charmed too by him and his seven personalities.
06:17Number 5. Used for My Talent
06:20Now this drama is fairly recent and fairly popular as well. It's based on the K-drama, Clean with a
06:27Passion for Now, and both are available on Netflix. The dramas tell the love story of the classic cold-hearted
06:34CEO with germophobia and an orphaned clumsy but kind girl. However, hate comes before a love between
06:41these two. Since the male lead has an irrational fear of dirt and germs, he panics when others get
06:46too close. And the female lead bumps into him so often that he begins to think that she has a
06:51sinister
06:52motive for trying to get close to him. Coincidence doesn't stop there with them because the girl gets
06:57employed as a cleaner in the CEO's company and they meet each other more often. He realizes that she
07:03doesn't trigger his disorder like others. Gradually, he falls for her. But how will their love survive
07:08obstacles, varying from company problems to his family's involvement?
07:17Number 4. Youth
07:20Adapted from the 2016 Korean drama Age of Youth
07:23Number 4 on our list is Youth, a relatable, touching drama that captures the hearts of many
07:29DC drama and even K-drama fans. The 2018 remake is a cheerful and upbeat drama that depicts the
07:35university lives and love lives of five girls who attend the same university and share a house
07:42together. Cue the drama, romance, and most importantly, friendship. They are all vastly different from each
07:48other. In almost everything, each girl has her own personality, style, tastes, and areas of expertise.
07:54They also carry their own problems and burdens, but it gets proven again and again that their
08:00friendship goes above and beyond being flatmates. Youth is actually a change of scene among the usual
08:06rom-coms. Despite its lighthearted vibes, it also has darker themes as it successfully captures real-life
08:12issues such as depression, abusive relationships, murder, eating disorders, gender norms, and more.
08:19One thing for sure, it is definitely worth your time.

09:48The drama features a workaholic team leader in an investment company, who has not been promoted
09:53since forever, and a rookie who has just entered the workplace in the financial investment field.
09:59Due to his uncompromising personality, the team manager has a strained relationship with his superior.
10:05The newbie was turned away by multiple employers, for having no education background,
10:09nor the experience to make up for it. At first, even the manager isn't willing to train such an
10:15inexperienced intern, though he's taken by surprise when the latter manages to persuade an important
10:21client to stay, putting past misunderstandings behind them. The manager decides to teach the
10:26rookie how to navigate office politics. Together, they end up saving the company from near disaster.
