00:52A lot of these spells, I think they're hard to say because they're in this different Latin.

02:28Now, first, I wanted to know, when did this project first come to you?
02:31Because I heard a story that you were originally going to be on Riverdale as Jughead.
02:35Was I?
02:36Is that true?
02:36I don't know, yeah.
02:37So, one of my first auditions actually was for Riverdale, right?
02:40There's some self-tapes.
02:41And I got quite a few rounds, right?
02:43And I had no idea how close I got, right?
02:46I know it was closer than, like, just before flying out or something.
02:51But, yeah, so they kept me in mind.
02:52And I had no idea until later.
02:54They were like, Roberto was like, brother, do you know how close you got?
02:58And I was like, no, you want to tell me?
03:00He was like, it was almost you.
03:02And I was like, wow, okay.
03:04That's sting a little bit, though, too.
03:06No, like, I'm not even mad.
03:07Yeah.
03:07Like, you know, I grew up watching Cole Sprouse and whatnot and his brother.
03:10And to have come close and use it to one of the people I used to watch, I was like,
03:14yo.
03:14That works out.
03:15It's all good.
03:15Yeah.
03:16Now, as a young actor, when did you realize you first wanted to get into acting and decide
03:19if this is what you wanted to do?
03:21So, when I was a toddler, right, there are two things I wanted to be.
03:23And this is a true story, no word of a lie.
03:26First was to be on Barney.
03:28And the second thing was to be the first president of the United States of America.
03:31Now, Obama beat me to that one.
03:33But for a little, for a toddler, Barney was, I want to be an actor.
03:38And then it really hit home when I was six and I played this little children's book called The Hungry
03:41Caterpillar.
03:42Okay.
03:42And I played The Hungry Caterpillar.
03:43And I was just eating fruit, basically, for the whole, like, little play.
03:47And I was like, yo, I want to do this.
03:49And I just kept going and going.
03:50That's awesome.
03:51Yeah.
03:53Now, what, I guess, kind of drew you to Ambrose?
03:56Like, how do you relate to him?
03:57Do you relate to him?
03:59Well, yeah, like, what kind of draws me to characters...
04:02Because the character, going back to the Riverdale story, he was kind of written in for you.
04:05Yeah.
04:06Yeah, Roberto actually, which is a blessing.
04:09Like, he kept me in mind.
04:11It was like, so, this drug head's going to go to Cole.
04:14But it's like, what can we get?
04:16What can we get this guy?
04:17And I was like, no way.
04:18Like, he wrote it with me in mind.
04:19And so, it was...
04:21I didn't actually know that until afterwards.
04:24But what draws me to the character is, like, you know, any character is the complexity of
04:29him.
04:29Like, he's an old man in a young man's body.
04:31So, like, to play that behind the eyes, like a sense of, like, precocious wisdom, but
04:35isn't actually precocious because he's actually old.
04:36And it's pretty dope to have the old but young, that kind of, like, juxtaposition of kind.
04:40That's perfect.
04:41And he's definitely one of the standout characters in the show.

04:47It's just like, thank you.
04:49Besides Ambrose, what other characters do you relate to in the show?
04:53Like, Prudence, Lucy's character, Aunt Hilda.
04:57Oh, really?
04:58Why?
04:58Yeah, because she's always, she's got a big heart and family's very close to her, right?
05:03And, you know, family's a big thing for me, like, first and foremost.
05:07And she's bubbly, she's sweet, just like Lucy.
05:09But at the same time, don't mess with Hilda.
05:11Like, she's unassuming, but she'll flip.
05:14Are you still in favor of Hilda over Zelda?
05:16Is that your favorite aunt?
05:17I have no preference.
05:18I have no preference.

05:20Don't spit the fandom out of me.
05:22I think that's what you're getting at here.
05:23Personally, I like the character, what I can relate to.
05:27Yeah.
05:27That makes sense.
05:28No, she's great.
05:29Zelda will be more a bit like my mom.
05:31She's more, Zelda's more of like the powerful matriarch of the family.
05:37Yeah.
05:37But they're a good team.
05:38They kind of complement each other.
05:39And then she marries...
05:41Father Blackwood?
05:41Father Blackwood.

05:44And that kind of makes, for you, part of the thing was Ambrose was on this chase.
05:48They were kind of hunting him down.
05:49Can you kind of talk about those scenes and filming that for the character?
05:53So, he ends up hunting him down a bit later on in the series.
05:57So, like, he kind of questions his loyalties for a second.
06:01And then decides and understands that Blackwood is no good for his family.
06:05Yeah.
06:05So then he goes off on a proper hunt with prudence.
06:08But that one episode when everyone's hunting him, remember, they're like chasing you around.
06:12You're like covered in blood.
06:12The big thing that happens where I'm covered in blood and I almost die several times.
06:17Yeah.
06:17It was just like a traumatic event.
06:18I just kind of scrubbed it in my memory because it's...
06:21Was there real blood?
06:22Oh, no.
06:22It was a lot of like cornstarch, a lot of fake blood.
06:26It was very sticky.
06:27There was like three weeks where I was just taking shower after shower.
06:29Yeah.
06:30I had like bits of sticky blood behind me.
06:32Like, I was...
06:33I got...
06:33I was actually driving home.
06:35That's scary.
06:35I got driving home and I got pulled over.
06:37Um...
06:37And...
06:38Just covered in blood.
06:39I didn't...
06:39I didn't have any...
06:40I watched most of it off but I had like bits of blood here and there.
06:43And the guy was just kind of like...
06:44He was kind of like with his torch.
06:45It was nighttime.
06:45He kind of goes...
06:47And I was like, no, no, it's just...
06:48It's just blood.
06:49I was working.
06:49And I was like, wait, fake blood.
06:51And he's like, what do you do, sir?
06:53I'm a butcher.
06:54Yeah.

06:55I'm Dexter in real life.
06:59How did you go in season two before you started filming?
07:01We actually get...
07:03Input or...
07:04Yeah, input into where we think the character could go and, you know, why they could go
07:09that way.
07:10So, it kind of went along those lines.
07:12Like, um...
07:14His kind of self-discovery and trying...
07:17Him leading towards becoming his own man.
07:19That's kind of where it kind of has been going.
07:22Because he's got a lot...
07:23He's got a rich past and a lot that's coming through.
07:27So much.
07:27To kind of, without giving that away, but still have that bubbling and brewing in the background.
07:31Because we're basically setting it up that it'll have some good payoff.
07:34Well, he's setting it up to have a good payoff.
07:36What do you think the payoff will be?
07:41Some calamitous event.
07:43Because he's got a lot in his past that he has to reconcile.
07:47Um...
07:47And or a spin-off.
07:48Speaking of spin-off, where we see you at the end of part two is...
07:52You're kind of on this revenge quest after losing Luke.
07:55Can you kind of talk about that?
07:56Yeah.
07:57So, after Luke gets brutally murdered and Ambrose finds out...
08:01Um...
08:02He's basically, uh...
08:04He's got a two-fold quest.
08:06One, to go after Blackwood.
08:07One of the main antagonists.
08:09And two, to kind of...
08:11Three-fold, actually.
08:12Two, to take on all these witch hunters and hunt them down one by one.
08:15And three, to kind of like go and learn, um...
08:19Many more skills.
08:20So that...
08:20Because there's a lot...
08:21A lot of shit's been going...
08:22A lot of ish has been going down, right?

08:24So he's...
08:25A lot of shit!
08:26A doody, dookies has been going down, right?

08:29He's like, well, what can I do to protect my family more?

08:48Who do you think is the ideal person for Ambrose?
08:51It depends on which time.
08:52Because Luke opens him up to the outside world and how to love and whatnot.

08:57And Prudence has more of a...
08:59They're able to relate to each other and more in common.
09:01They've both suffered in similar ways.
09:03And are able to console each other in that regard.

09:06So if Luke opened him up, Prudence can help him heal.

09:10Now your co-star Gavin was recently here.
09:12And he mentioned the much-talked-about orgy scene from part one.
09:16Yeah.
09:16And he said it was actually your idea to have him included in the orgy scene.
09:20Can you tell us about that?
09:22So the orgy was...
09:24We were...
09:24Abby, Gavin and I were chilling, eating some Korean barbecue.
09:30And I was texting Roberto about the orgy, right?
09:33And I was like, um...
09:35Can Luke be involved?
09:36Or is Luke involved?
09:38Something along those lines, right?
09:38And he was like, yeah.
09:39And then I took a picture of Gavin and Abby.
09:42Just kind of like smiling and sent it to him.
09:44And he goes, and Gavin can be in it too.
09:47And I was like, oh snap.
09:49And then Gavin sent me a video saying, really?
09:53Can I be in the orgy?
09:54Can I? Can I?
09:54And he didn't know I was going to send it to him.
09:55So I sent that to Roberto as well.
09:57And he was like, for sure, brother.
09:58For sure.
09:59And then from then on, Gavin's been in the orgy.
10:02We kind of looked at each other.

10:19Can you kind of talk about the dynamic of filming and what it's been like to kind of go through
10:23this journey with everyone on the show?
10:24Yeah, we've been like, it's like creating a close-knit family, like for sure.
10:29It's, we're all in the same boat together.
10:32We're all in a similar circumstance.
10:33Even like the older lot, the more of the adults, like this is like a big main thing for them
10:40too.
10:40And some of the first big main things, right?
10:44It's true, yeah.
10:45Yeah.
10:45So we're all in this shit together.
10:47So we've been each other shoulders to cry on.
10:48We've been, you know, we've hung out a lot.
10:51We're all basically family.
10:53And it's incredible.
10:54Like friends for life type thing.
10:56And I have so many good memories.
10:59And it's, I don't know, some of the best times of our life have been together.
11:02And a lot happened in such a short amount of time.
11:04If you were to pick one favorite memory from being with everyone off set or on set, what?
11:08I've got a lot of memories of Gavin.
11:10So we're there chilling.
11:12I'm in my trailer, right?
11:13And I'm listening to some like 1940s-esque like jazzy type music.
11:17And I'm just there chilling.
11:18And then I get a knock on the door.
11:19And then like Lachlan comes in.
11:21And he chills with me.
11:22So we were both taking a nap.
11:23And then I wake up.
11:24And then I see Gavin there.
11:26I don't know when Gavin came in, but then Gavin came in.
11:28And then Tati came in.
11:31Adeline came in.
11:32And then I was like, all right, cool.
11:33So I'm still sleeping.
11:35And then I wake up.
11:35Ross is in.
11:36Pretty soon, like I wake up a couple times.
11:38And then I wake up for the third time.
11:39And like literally everybody's, all of us like youngins are all like taking a nap.
11:43We have Ross is in like the closet area.
11:46You know, we have Lachlan like on the sofa.
11:48I'm like ended up on the floor like in a ball because like jazz is here.
11:53Adeline's there.
11:53We're all just chilling.
11:55And it was like one of my nicest memories.
11:57It was like a nice chill summer day.
11:58And we're all just taking a nap.

12:00Now speaking of Sabrina, for you as kind of a, both starring in the show but also being
12:05a fan of the show and the story, who do you think Sabrina belongs with?
12:08Is it Nick or is it Harvey?
12:11That's a very good question.
12:12I think in part two we see more of it being Nick and kind of Harvey's.
12:16Because they both have that best interest in mind, right?
12:20Or so we're led to believe.
12:21So I don't know.
12:24She has two halves, doesn't she, right?
12:26If she wants a nice mortal life, then it's definitely Harvey.

13:18But he has extensive knowledge of necromancy.
13:20And there are different areas of necromancy.
13:22You have like Germanic necromancy, you have like Caribbean necromancy.
13:27And it's, I don't know, being able to use that.
13:29We live by a graveyard, right?
13:31Well, next to it on our property.
13:33If we were attacked, for example, would he be able to bring up some zombies to help with the numbers?
13:39Those kind of things.
13:40Visually, that would be really cool and story-wise.
13:42That would be really amazing.
13:43There's like witch hunters coming and he just kind of goes, and zombies come out.
13:49How do you think he's gonna fare against the witch hunters in part three?
13:52Him?
13:53Yeah.
13:54I think it would be tough, but he's probably able to get the upper hand.
13:57He's intelligent.
13:58So what he lacks in numbers, for example, he'll be able to make up in guerrilla warfare.
14:04Especially if he has prudence.
14:05Prudence is very powerful as well.
14:06So between the two, they'll probably be able to take him on.
