Garlic butter steak bites with creamy mashed potatoes🥩🥔✨
Ingredients📝
For the mashed potatoes:
8-9 potatoes, peeled & boiled
1 cup milk (240 ml)
200g cheese spread
1 tbsp butter
1 egg
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tsp nutmeg
For the steak:
2 beef steaks (about 800g total), cut into thick cubes
1 tsp garlic granules
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp rosemary
Sea salt (added while baking)
Olive oil
For the garlic butter sauce:
1 tbsp butter
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
3 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tsp chives
½ tsp salt
Extra:
200g broccolini
Preparation👩🏻🍳
Start by boiling the potatoes in salted water until fork tender. You can test if they’re ready by inserting a knife, if the potatoes slide off easily, they’re cooked.
Add milk, cream cheese, butter and egg. Start mixing immediately after adding the egg so it doesn’t cook from the heat of the potatoes. Season with salt, black pepper and nutmeg, then mix until smooth and creamy.
Bring water to a boil and cook the broccolini for 4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Cut the steak into large thick cubes and season with garlic granules, black pepper and rosemary. Mix well with your hands so all pieces are evenly coated.
Heat a pan on high heat with a little olive oil and sear the steak bites until browned on the outside, about 1½-2 minutes per side depending on thickness. Finish with a little salt. Remove from the pan, wrap in foil and let rest while preparing the sauce.
In the same pan, add butter, garlic, parsley, chives and salt. Let everything cook for 5 minutes until fragrant and combined into a delicious garlic butter sauce.
✨ Enjoy!
