00:00Keeping tabs on the real estate market.
00:02Getting you down?
00:03There's got to be a better way.
00:05I'm Jack McBrayer, and we bring you
00:07eye-catching, unique homes on the real estate market
00:10that satisfy a hunger for color, texture,
00:15oh, and outrageous surprises.
00:18This is going to be a very fun day.
00:21Hi!
00:22I'm so excited that you're here.
00:24One house will be crowned the wildest.
00:29So join now.
00:37I'm in Brooklyn, an iconic and artistic borough
00:41in New York City.
00:42There's a brownstone for sale where
00:44flair and functionality meet artistry.
00:48We're in Brooklyn, baby.
00:54We're in Brooklyn.
00:54We're in Brooklyn.
00:54We're in Brooklyn.
00:59Hello.
01:00Bonjour.
01:01Virginie.
01:01Hello, Jack.
01:02Nice to meet you.
01:03I am Virginie, and I'm selling my house.
01:07New York was very good to me.
01:09But I want to be living in a place where
01:12it's more hot than in New York.
01:14Now, from here, it looks like a pretty classic
01:17Brooklyn brownstone.
01:18Yeah.
01:19I'm assuming there's more than meets the eye here.
01:23A little bit.
01:24A little bit.
01:25Cool.
01:25C'est chouette.
01:26Let's go check it out, shall we?
01:27Happy to you.
01:28Yes, ma'am.
01:33Ooh.
01:35Ooh.
01:38Virginie.
01:40This is a vision in white.
01:44It is a big risk to have a very white apartment in any city,
01:48but especially New York.
01:49Ooh, everybody's stepping in dog paint.
01:51Everybody.
01:52Did you do all this?
01:54Yes.
01:55This is big.
01:56Yeah.
01:57It's a duplex with three apartments upstairs.
02:00Really?
02:01Yeah.
02:02My unit has two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms.
02:05And I have my art studio gallery downstairs in the cellar.
02:09Amazing.
02:09Yeah.
02:10I'm an artist, so I like when it's bright.
02:15And that's why I open over there.
02:17And it's minimal, contemporary, and no chaos.
02:20We're going to get along very well today.
02:22I like the things that you're saying, and I like the way you say it.
02:29We're going to have a day today, I can tell.
02:32What did it look like when you first got in here?
02:35Very brown.
02:36Oh, okay.
02:37Very dark.
02:38It was four different rooms here.
02:40Oh, it was like sectioned off more.
02:42Yeah, absolutely.
02:43Got it.
02:43The bathroom in the middle, so it was absolutely no light.
02:46And it was two little windows on the back.
02:48Very small, yeah.
02:49No, you did it right.
02:50This light coming through, and you can just see straight through?
02:53I can show you something here I think you will like.
02:57Okay.
02:57I think so.
02:58We have the kitchen over there.
03:00Are these the cabinets?
03:02Yes.
03:03I thought there was art.
03:05They look like exclamation points.
03:07That's a very good compliment.
03:09Did you design all these?
03:10Yes.
03:11And I did art piece, art series, look like exclamation point.
03:16And then when I saw that, I was like, oh, my God.
03:19I don't want the boring square cabinet that everybody has.
03:21Sorry.
03:22And then...
03:23Sorry, everybody.
03:25Sorry.
03:26And then I was like, oh, my God.
03:27This is what I'm going to do, exclamation point.
03:29So when I have my tea in the morning, I feel better.
03:32Oh, I can listen to you.
03:33So that...
03:33Please, I want to show you something.
03:35I can listen to you.
03:36Try to open it.
03:37Oh.
03:39Yeah.
03:39So that's white.
03:41Look at that.
03:43Very white, yeah.
03:43Oh, and even all that's white.
03:45Exactly.
03:46This is immaculate.
03:49So what happened when I created this cabinet, I was like, oh, my God.
03:53I have so many books.
03:54What am I going to do?
03:55And I'm like, oh, my God.
03:56I'm going to put these guys horizontal.
04:00That's my library.
04:01And it's an art installation called Peekaboo.
04:04Oh.
04:25That's it.
04:26Wow!
04:26And I have all my books.
04:28So this is the art section.
04:29Down is novel.
04:31This is health.
04:32Over there is sociology, anthropology, ethnology.
04:35Up is philosophy.
04:36So each one has his own section.
04:39All the ologies.
04:41Peek-a-boo.
04:43Philosophy.
04:44Peek-a-boo.
04:46Sociology.
04:50Peek-a-boo.
04:51Novel.
04:52Are those functional chairs?
04:54Yes.
04:58So this is decontextualization.
05:01What is decontextualization?
05:05Decontextualization?
05:06Just kidding.
05:06If you get mad at me doing that.
05:07No, no, no.
05:08It's basically taking materials that is not supposed to be a chair.
05:13This is for heating system.
05:15It's not to make a chair.
05:17You can sit there if you want.
05:19I want very much.
05:21And actually, I build this so my friends look like king and queen.
05:27Oh, and each one.
05:29This is insane.
05:31And the best place here, you know why?
05:33You can see through the glass deck in the glass.
05:37Oh, my gosh.
05:38I can show you.
05:39Let's go.
05:40Yes, please.
05:42This is nuts.
05:43Look at that.
05:45Can you walk on this?
05:47Will this hold me?
05:56You're light, darling.
05:58And it's 200 pounds per square feet, darling.
06:01Light as a feather.
06:02So no shoe there.
06:02Oh, my gosh.
06:04Did you put this in here?
06:05Yeah, you know why?
06:06To make sure that because the creation of the deck doesn't bring too much darkness in the garden floor.
06:12Oh, my gosh.
06:13I can't stop looking at this water.
06:14Yeah.
06:14And the glass rail is here to make the view of the garden better.
06:18Wow.
06:19I cannot believe you have an outdoor space with a water feature in New York.
06:25Yes.
06:25This is unheard of.
06:27Yeah.
06:27I want to see it up close.
06:29Of course.
06:29Great.
06:30Which one am I going?
06:30This way?
06:30We can go downstairs.
06:33This is crazy.
06:37Can you hear that sound of the water?
06:39That's just already soothing.
06:41Exactly.
06:41Exactly.
06:42Do you get in here?
06:42Of course.
06:44Oh.
06:45I swim here every day.
06:47And you can also have a cold plunge the whole year.
06:51You know?
06:54This is fascinating.
06:55You are a fascinating person.
06:58You too, darling.
06:59A stool.
07:00Oh, darling.
07:01Oh, darling.
07:03This is amazing.
07:04So what's next?
07:05Why are you leaving this?
07:07So you see the peekaboo, the library?
07:10Oh, I've seen the peekaboo.
07:12I want to build houses like that.
07:14When I renovate this house, the person who sold me this house, check it out what I did.
07:19And he was on the phone and he was like, okay, I have to call you back.
07:23What the did you do?
07:25So I don't think we can put that on TV.
07:27That's what are for.
07:28Yeah.
07:29Well, was he happy or?
07:31Very happy.
07:32And he said, what can I do to have that?
07:34I said, hire me.
07:36Really?
07:37And that's it.
07:37So the previous owner saw what you did to their...
07:41He was a developer.
07:42A Brooklyn developer.
07:43Big one.
07:44Yeah.
07:45What was the word you said?
07:45Diplomat?
07:46Developer.
07:47Developer?
07:48Developer.
07:49Developer.
07:50I'm sorry.
07:51Developer.
07:51Developer.
07:54So the previous owner was a developer and saw what you did and wanted you to do more
08:01work like that.
08:01Amazing.
08:02Any hire me on the spot.
08:04This is incredible.
08:07Virginie, this has been so fun.
08:10I hear you have an open house coming up.
08:12Yes.
08:12I wish you all the best of luck.
08:14And I hope our paths cross again soon, darling.
08:17Bye-bye.
08:18Au revoir.
08:19Au revoir.
08:19Au revoir.
08:20Au revoir.
08:21Bye-bye.
08:24Prémagnifique, this home was incredible.
08:27This brownstone has shed its stuffy past, creatively reborn as an airy tribute to art and
08:34architecture.
08:35The chairs, the exclamation point cabinetry.
08:39The home displays a dedication to functional decontextualization, but the lush backyard garden
08:46and pool in the big city is, how do you say, wild?
08:56Peekaboo Brownstone is having an open house,
08:58looking for some potential buyers.
09:00Will someone snatch up this one-of-a-kind property?
09:03Hello.
09:04Welcome.
09:05It's so big.
09:06Oh, my gosh.
09:07I love it.
09:09The bathroom's so lovely.
09:11There's two sinks, one for me and one for you.
09:14I love that.
09:14This is a very unique property
09:16because it has a different layout
09:17than any other house in this neighborhood,
09:19probably much in all of Brooklyn.
09:21It's not a traditional brownstone.
09:23I've never seen anything like this.
09:25It's very open and airy.
09:27It's very bright.
09:28Most of the times, brownstones in Brooklyn
09:29can be very dark and heavy wood.
09:31Did you tell me about the rental income in the other units?
09:34Altogether, they bring about $9,500 a month.
09:37Oh, that's pretty good.
09:37New York is very expensive,
09:38and by having three extra units
09:41where you can actually have rental income,
09:43it helps out with its mortgages.
09:45You know, everything in New York is overpriced.
09:48The art is really cool to me.
09:49We can talk about that.
09:50Yeah, maybe.
09:51Maybe.
09:51I thought that that was for sale.
09:53The people who come to see this house,
09:54usually a lot of younger clients,
09:57and I'm always wondering what these people
09:58get this kind of money from.
09:59This is so beautiful.
10:00How rare is it to have a working fireplace in Brooklyn?
10:03It's extremely rare in New York.
10:04This neighborhood has actually become very popular now.
10:07A lot of creative types now come into the neighborhood.
10:10It's such a wonderful hodgepodge now.
10:12We'll check in later to see if the brownstone says peek-a-boo
10:16to a brand new owner.
10:19Door number one.
10:20Oh!
10:20Oh, that's a boat.
10:23What is this house about?
10:26I've been to so many incredible houses for sale
10:29and met so many charming homeowners.
10:31Had me wondering, what are they up to now?
10:32So I just had to reach out for a little catch-up session.
10:38Last time we were down in New Orleans,
10:41we saw a property that took a little shabby
10:43and made it so chic.
10:49When Nick walked through the house,
10:51I knew he was our buyer.
10:52We have been on the market a while.
10:55I originally listed this property for $1,450,000.
10:59And through reductions, we were able to secure a buyer
11:02and I bought it for $8.50,000.
11:07This house captivated viewers because of its distressed look,
11:12tall ceilings, the exposed laugh,
11:15to showcase a home that was built in 1860.
11:19After looking for over a decade at all of the unique properties
11:23I could put my hands on, the second we walked into that space,
11:27you just knew you were in a special space.
11:30People walk in and they're like, oh, it's shedding, or, oh,
11:33like, why don't you paint this, paint that.
11:34But like, no.
11:35Like, that's what's so great about it.
11:37We'll probably keep it 95% the same as it is.
11:40The courtyard has its own side entrance, and it has three bedrooms
11:46that can be kind of detached from the main house.
11:49A couple of things that we want to do is use the bedrooms
11:53for some of the artists that are coming to play at some of my live music venues.
11:57Why not give them a true New Orleans home to stay in for the weekend?
12:00To the person that's considering doing something a little bit weirder,
12:04a little wilder, a little bit more interesting, but you're afraid,
12:07there's a lot of weird, wacky, wonderfully beautiful humans out there
12:12that might like the exact same weird stuff that you like.
12:14So just do it.
12:15And I think if you're looking for a house and it just doesn't speak to you,
12:19give a little time.
12:20Keep searching, you'll find it.
12:21It's out there.
12:22I know I found mine.
12:26My next stop takes me to Reunion, a resort community in Kissimmee, Florida,
12:31where you'll find sunshine, nearby theme parks, and a home for sale
12:35that leans into the world of high-stakes espionage.
12:46Okay, look at this.
12:48This is beautiful.
12:51Thank you, uh, David.
12:54Hi, Henry.
12:54Oh, my God.
13:00Okay, you said wild house.
13:02This is your thing.
13:02Like, we do weird stuff here, right?
13:04Yes.
13:05Gorgeous neighborhood, very nice architecture,
13:07but not, like, anything I would see on your show.
13:10Well, let's see if there's more to the eye.
13:12Will you join us on the tour?
13:14Yeah.
13:14Let us surprise our homeowner.
13:16Let's tuck you in here.
13:17Oh, go.
13:17Oh, stop talking.
13:21Okay, let's go.
13:23Hello.
13:24Hi.
13:25Kajal.
13:26Kajal.
13:26Nice to meet you.
13:28You, too.
13:29Thank you for having me.
13:30Thank you for coming by.
13:31I know, this is going to be a very fun day, I know.
13:34I'm very excited.
13:35Hi.
13:36Hi.
13:37Hi.
13:37Oh, my God.
13:39How are you?
13:41Good.
13:42How are you?
13:43You're doing wonderful.
13:44I have a plus one for the tour.
13:47I'm so excited that you're here.
13:49I'm Kajal, and I'm selling my regal home.
13:51Being a pediatric dentist, I work with children all the time, and it's fun.
13:56So I really wanted to kind of bring that into the home.
13:59Let's go.
14:00Come on in.
14:01The whole house was inspired by different movies.
14:05We're going to go right this way.
14:07Okay.
14:07Door on the right.
14:08Oh, or you're just a lesbian.
14:09Yo, go.
14:10You have at it.
14:12Door number one.
14:13Oh!
14:13Oh, that's a boat.
14:17Just a little one.
14:18This is a real boat.
14:20This is cool.
14:21Yes.
14:22What is this house about?
14:23This room was inspired by the movie Live and Let Die.
14:28James Bond.
14:28Yes.
14:30That I know.
14:30I'm on board.
14:31You got to get out before there's an explosion.
14:33Someone's going to swim up here and like, yeah.
14:36Yeah.
14:37Is the whole house Live and Let Die?
14:38Some of the rooms in the house are inspired by different James Bond movies.
14:43Oh.
14:43That's really cool.
14:45Yes.
14:46My biggest goal with this house was to be able to transport people to a different place and
14:53have an amazing experience.
14:56The Bond series was able to inspire that, and then it allowed us to make everything more interactive.
15:03The only thing we're missing is James Bond.
15:06You know what?
15:07I've got an idea.
15:10Okay.
15:11You both can play too.
15:12Where do you think he's going?
15:18The name is Bland.
15:20Jack McBland.
15:22The name is Bond.
15:24Municipal Bond.
15:26Did someone call for a Bond girl?
15:31Unfortunately, today my arch nemesis has joined me for the tour.
15:35Dr. Colonel General Gay M.D. A.K.A. The Senator.
15:43I'm dressed like a spy.
15:45I feel like a cater waiter.
15:49Shall we?
15:50After you.
15:50Oh, thank you.
15:52You're welcome.
15:53We're going to start, actually, upstairs.
15:56Where am I going right now?
15:57Slide the barn door open.
15:58All right, here we go.
16:02Oh, the Lounge.
16:06Oh, my gosh.
16:09The M Lounge.
16:10The M Lounge.
16:10Where luxury comes to play.
16:12Exactly.
16:13Yeah, it does.
16:14This is a little bit more of an adults-only space.
16:16For sure.
16:17We've got a bar.
16:17We've got some gambling moments.
16:19Yes.
16:20Yes.
16:20Who's feeling lucky tonight?
16:22When I saw the boat room, I was like, okay, we're going teeny, teeny.
16:26But the bar and the game room was sexy.
16:28Cool.
16:29This is a playground for adults.
16:31You know, it really had that wonderful dichotomy.
16:34Gambling is a sin.
16:40This next room is my daughter's favorite.
16:42All right, here we go.
16:45Oh!
16:46Oh, wait.
16:47I know this room.
16:48I know this one.
16:53I know what this is.
16:54This is inspired by Encanto.
16:59Si, senora.
17:00How did I know it's one of my favorite movies?
17:02It's so good.
17:02It's so good.
17:04Oh, so your daughter really likes that movie?
17:06This is adorable.
17:07About the design and stuff, did you go to a designer and say, I want this in this room, this
17:12in this room?
17:13How did this work?
17:14I got an interior decorator, and she helped turn my vision into this amazing creation.
17:19Amazing!
17:19It's a designer's dream.
17:21Yes.
17:21Because you just be different.
17:22You don't have to be regular.
17:24It's just really fun.
17:24I'm all about different.
17:25Now I want to show you my favorite, the adult playroom.
17:28Ooh.
17:29Yes.
17:29Careful.
17:30So, down the hall to the double doors.
17:32All right, you got it.
17:33Adult playroom.
17:35Adult playroom.
17:35Adult playroom.
17:37Adult what?
17:38Yeah, yeah.
17:39Okay.
17:42Oh!
17:42Oh my.
17:44All right.
17:46I feel right at home with these two vehicles.
17:50Yeah.
17:50This is cool, so it's a media room.
17:52Yes.
17:52Neat.
17:53I didn't even see media.
17:54I was like, this is your car showcase.
17:57They're original cars that were deconstructed to turn into what you see here.
18:02A theater seat.
18:03You can sit where Bond sat.
18:06You do it right.
18:06You play the screen right.
18:07You can be driving wherever he was going.
18:09That's fine.
18:10I know.
18:10I know.
18:11You want to test it out?
18:12Oh, yeah.
18:13Oh.
18:14All right, does this move?
18:16Oop.
18:17Oop.
18:18Is there room for me?
18:19Please.
18:19There is.
18:21So, yeah.
18:22There's no seat belt.
18:22So, this is the experience.
18:24Oh, I'm driving.
18:25No.
18:25It depends what country.
18:29You know what?
18:29Let's pretend it's this country.
18:31No, it's fine.
18:32Yes.
18:33You take away all my joy.
18:35Wow!
18:37Those are old Rolls Royces.
18:39That is an expensive thing.
18:41Because she is selling this house, like, it's really important to have those things that look expensive, be playful and
18:47cool and wonderful at the same time.
18:48It's very smart.
18:49What does your real estate agent think?
18:51Oh, he is excited.
18:54You know, Orlando is a very specific market, especially being so close to the parks.
18:58You can get away with a lot.
19:00This is going to bode well for an investor who wants to have an income property.
19:05I have enjoyed the process of doing something unique and just makes me want to do more now.
19:11I need to financially get this house sold to be able to move on to my next project.
19:17Hey, thank you so much.
19:18You're welcome.
19:19This has been absolutely wonderful.
19:21Let's find our ways out of here.
19:22I need a virgin martini.
19:26Let's see how Movie Manor measures up on the wild dial.
19:30Designing a home that blends the intrigue of Bond with the magic of children's movies requires a lot of creativity.
19:37Committing to the cinephile theme is apparent in every Bond-inspired lounge, down to the luxury car-turned-theater seating.
19:47And how about a speedboat used as a queen-size bed?
19:51That takes the idea of a waterbed quite literally.
19:58Both of these homes are overflowing with personality and pizazz.
20:03But before we crown a winner, let's get an update on our listings.
20:09Peekaboo Brownstone and Movie Manor both remain on the market, still drawing interest as they await the perfect buyer.
20:17Now which home will be revealed as the wild winner?
20:20Will Peekaboo Brownstone pop out on top?
20:23Or did Movie Manor deliver a box office win?
20:29And the wild winner is...
20:34Hey!
20:35Movie Manor!
20:37Kajal, hello!
20:39Hi Jack, how are you?
20:41I'm really good!
20:43I sent you a little something.
20:45Would you be so kind as to open it?
20:49Oh my gosh!
20:51Surprise!
20:53Wow!
20:55Oh my God!
20:57Look at this!
20:58This is amazing!
21:00While a reimagined brownstone brings charm, this spy-inspired escape goes full throttle with its Rolls-Royce screening room, boat
21:11bed, and sultry bar straight out of a secret lair.
21:15With movie inspo at the helm, it's a cinematic masterpiece turned full on wild abode.
21:23Congratulations!
21:24I was born to be wild.
21:27So until next time, looking forward to seeing what other wild homes are out there.
