00:17Welcome to the Common Ground update for Rust.
00:21This month, the island's bandits have reclaimed a forgotten building from Cobalt's past
00:25and opened up a new monument, the Apartment Complex.
00:30This area is a new safe zone, dedicated to both hospitality and trade.
00:39In the lobby of the main building, speak to the front desk to rent or upgrade one of more than
00:4360 furnished apartments.
00:47Subjects may find this an opportune place to get a foothold not long after waking up on the beach.
00:53There are three different room tiers to suit a range of budgets,
00:56all featuring workbenches, stoves, a bed and increasing amounts of storage.
01:02There's even a few special extras for penthouse guests.
01:06You'll pay your way with a deposit of scrap every 24 hours, through an intercom at the door in your
01:11room.
01:13In the common area outside, you'll find a small marketplace of shops run by the subjects.
01:20Each shop can be rented for scrap, allowing you to sell your wares to the nearby residents.
01:26Once open, you can modify listings, adjust stock levels and customise your shop sign to make it your own.
01:33After a certain amount of time, it will be possible to outbid others for their spots, if you can cough
01:38up the additional upfront and hourly fees.
01:41Of course, nothing run by bandits is ever truly safe.
01:45For a price, subjects can stake out your belongings and obtain a single-use master key to break into a
01:52shop or apartment.
01:54Any would-be raiders should tread carefully though, as residents have the right to defend their property.
02:01Also this month, the new glowing wallpaper pack is here, consisting of a staggering 27 wall, floor and ceiling papers.
02:10When the sun goes down, the designs come to life with an emissive glow effect.
02:14Whether the vibe is street, neon, brutal or cosy, there's something to give any base a true glow up.
