00:01Wow look at this. It is so pretty. Aaron and I met in the fourth grade. We went to college
00:08together and then we got married three or four months after we graduated. We currently have
00:13four kiddos so we just go all in on everything. Yep there's your boat the Spanish girls. All right.
00:20First place to be. Thank you. Yes we're excited. Every time we travel we would talk about buying
00:26a house there. It was kind of our pipe dream and then we came to Spanish Wells and immediately
00:32fell in love. Yeah it's very private, very secluded, very romantic. Makes me feel like when we were
00:38first dating but buying a house in the Bahamas is a giant financial risk. But we both are big thrill
00:44seekers. We don't really hold each other back. If one of us has a crazy idea the other normally
00:50encourages it and then we end up doing crazy things like buying a house in the Bahamas.
01:16Welcome to Spanish Wells guys. Some islands like this you can't just fly to, you have to ferry in.
01:22Yeah I got the whip ready for you guys. All right. Even though the Bahamas is made up over
01:26700 islands in Keys, 20 of them are inhabited and at each island it has its own vibe and own
01:33flavor.
01:34And even Spanish Wells is tiny, two miles long and a half mile wide. This island has so much to
01:40offer.
01:41Yeah these houses are really really cool. This is what you would consider like a Bahamian cottage,
01:47very historic. Yeah I feel like we're in like Cape Cod or somewhere like that. It's so funny that you
01:52said that I actually call Spanish Wells the Nantucket of the island. Yeah that makes sense.
01:58Spanish Wells is so magical. It's one of those islands you have to chase to get there. That's
02:02why the beaches are so quiet and so secluded. The water is so clear. It just goes from light blue
02:08to dark blue. You haven't even seen it yet. I'm gonna show you something so amazing it's gonna blow
02:13your socks off. Did you wear socks by the way? No socks. No socks. All right. You don't need socks
02:18yet.
02:18You already did your job. We've invested in real estate for the last 15 years and so now we're
02:23leveraging some of the real estate we already own so that we can have the cash to buy the house
02:27here.
02:28It's a giant financial risk but when Heather and I first got married it was just us. We got to
02:32spend
02:33all of our time together and now the busyness of owning our own businesses has kind of separated us.
02:38So I'm just excited to come to a place like Spanish Wells where I get to just spend more time
02:42with
02:43Heather and remember how amazing and incredible that she is. We're on Sandbar of Spanish Wells.
02:49What do you think? This is stunning. There's no one out here. You can just see forever. Yeah,
02:57you could maybe even skinny dip if you want to, right? It's up to you, right? This is the north

03:02of Vilutra and then behind it would be the Devil's Backbone. During the 1600s a lot of boats crashed off
03:09of the Devil's Backbone. That's actually how this place got settled. This is so cool. I have to be
03:15on the beach, please. You can't put a price on this. Yeah, Aaron, you can't put a price on this.

03:21could put a price on it. So what's your ideal property looking like for you guys? Three bedrooms,
03:28two bathrooms, something that's pretty open inside so that we have a lot of space to spread out and
03:35unwind. Yeah. I really want a big yard if possible. And are you guys okay with a fixer-upper maybe?
03:41If it's on the beach as well? I am. Yeah, I'm not afraid of a little hard work. No fixer
03:49-upper. Nope,
03:49it's got to be moving already. I don't want to tackle a project in the Bahamas. That seems
03:54difficult and expensive. I have faith in your abilities. Is the budget still the same? Yeah,
03:59we cannot go above 900. All right. Okay. So even if I came out on the beach, there's a lot
04:04of sand
04:05dollars out here. Maybe I pick up a few. Could that go towards the transaction? We wiggle up a little
04:09bit. I mean, come on. So we could do 900,000 in one sand dollar. Okay. But I want to
04:14manage those
04:15expectations as well for both of you because not a lot of inventory is here on Spanish Wells. Inventory,
04:22it's very low. It's a lot of generational properties passed down from family to family. So I may have to
04:28go
04:28off-market on hunting for properties for them.
04:42So I can't wait to show you this place. This delivers the full package. It's a three-bedroom,
04:48two-bath, and you got the beach right at your back door. Wow. What are we talking about price-wise?
04:55$950,000. Yeah, I don't know about that. Heather and I both own our own businesses. I own a travel
05:01agency,
05:02so travel is my life. You can already see the water. Exactly. And I own an insurance agency, and so
05:09risk is my life. And so I'm constantly thinking about the risks of everything. So this is in here on
05:15your lap. This is what I was talking about. I mean, this is a paradise. Yeah. With the palm trees,
05:29and the ocean, and the sand right there, check out the inside, and I'll be out here waiting for you.
05:34All right. Oh, look at this deck. I don't even need to see inside. I'm just being out here all
05:39the time.
05:40This is amazing. That is awesome. Oh, wow. If I could pick the perfect backyard, this is 100%. The water
05:51looks like cotton candy. Yeah. I think we could spend a lot of time right here. Yeah. This is
05:58unbelievable. Yeah. You want to buy this, don't you? 100%. I don't even need to see inside. This is what
06:04I wanted this whole time. Yeah. If we're coming all the way here, we might as well get what we
06:09really want. Let's go see the inside and see if it is like what we want before we make our
06:14decision.
06:15All right. Heather had a crush on me for a long time, and when I finally did become interested,
06:21uh, she kind of changed her mind. He had had his chance. First time I tried to kiss her,
06:26she rejected me and then tried to text her best friend, except she accidentally texted me and said,
06:32Aaron tried to kiss me. And I said, yeah, I know. I was there. Sorry. Oh, wow. Wow.
06:42This is big. It's really big. It is dark. Like, depressingly dark. Look out there. You can have the
06:50perfect view of the beach from inside. And the ceilings are so high. It makes the space feel so big
06:55because the ceilings are high. For sure. You can maybe put like skylights in. That's gonna be expensive. I
07:01don't plan on spending much time in here. So, uh, let's go look around. Okay.
07:07This is nice. Oh, nice. There's definitely plenty of space. And this bed is nice. Yeah, for sure.
07:12And this has more windows, so it's a lot brighter in here. I actually like this bedroom. I really do.
07:17I do think probably we'd want to replace these shades here. You're gonna have to like this furniture,
07:22or we're not gonna be able to make it work. I love this furniture. Okay.
07:27Oh, wow. It's a huge bathroom. Yeah. The double vanity. I love that. Yeah. I don't want to share
07:32sink with you. We need two sinks. Fair. And this is a jacuzzi tub. Yeah. This bedroom is a lot
07:39brighter
07:39than this living room. But then again, we walk in here and it's like night. It's just a little romance
07:44lighting. I mean, it can be romantic. If you're good with it. This is a great sized room. Yeah. I
07:53probably would have to change the wall color in here, but that is cheap. No, we're not changing.
07:58Nothing is cheap. You don't know how much anything is here. Oh, no, I do like this. I wouldn't change
08:04anything in here. Okay, good. I'm glad to hear that. Amazing property, huh? Yeah. Yeah. Good work. I
08:13loved it. Um, I mean, this view just does it for me, but I don't want to stress him out.
08:19The price,
08:20I think it's just too much. But I mean, real estate sometimes isn't all about the money, right?
08:25It's about that emotional connection. Heather. I love it. Aaron, sell a few stocks. I know you got
08:32that. I'm worried that Kyle is just going to show his houses outside of our price point. And that's
08:37going to be a waste of time for him and for us.
08:48Do you remember on our honeymoon taking the kayaks through the mangroves?
08:52I didn't think we were going to make it. When we come here and we can just disconnect and reconnect,
08:58I feel like it just reminds me of why I fell in love. Uncle Rob, you're going to show us
09:03all the
09:03secret places, right? Oh, yes. I got a lot of good spots to show you guys. Getting to see this
09:08side of
09:09him that's not stressed or working all the time is really nice. It's going to feel like we're on
09:15vacation all the time. I mean, this is the coolest thing I've ever seen. These are green turtles. They're all
09:21over the bombers. And they're just always here? Well, they live in the bay. So when they hear the
09:25sound of the boat engines, they say, oh, it's dinner time. So have you always lived in Spanish
09:30Wells? Yep. I wouldn't like to live nowhere else. My family came from England and they got in a bad
09:34storm and shipwrecked out in the famous devil's backbone in 1648. That's incredible. I can see why
09:40you guys have stayed here for generations. Yeah. It is beautiful. I'm trying to deliver for Aaron
09:54and Heather, but they have to understand that the choices are slim and the demand is high. So this
10:01house is a two bedroom, two bath, and it's right on the beach. What about the yard? The yard is
10:07huge.
10:07It leads right onto the beach. I love that. Tell me the price again. $850,000. Okay. I'm impressed
10:14you found one in our price range. It's moving ready, but you could possibly do some upgrades.
10:20So here we are, guys. Not so sure about this right now. Yeah. Yeah. You can't see a house. Yeah.

10:35I love this yard. This is exactly what I was looking for. Wow. Yeah. You can see the water
10:40right here. Yeah. It's amazing. So is this a public beach?
10:46So the beach actually is public, but there's never anybody on it. Yeah. Legend has it. It's called
10:53lover's key. I think it's perfect. Good work, Kyle. I think you're pleasing Heather. This is
10:58unbelievable. It is so rare to find a basically private beach these days and to know that we could
11:06have a piece of that is mind blowing. Check out the interior space and I'll be out here waiting for
11:12you.
11:15Wow. This is tiny. It's cute. This is really, really small. I mean, like the kitchen and the living room
11:25and the dining room are all one. We can change it though. This kitchen probably needs a little bit
11:32of updating, probably replace the countertops. I don't even know how you do that in the Bahamas.
11:39We can both be stubborn. Neither one of us likes to admit if we're wrong. I'm rarely, if ever, wrong.
11:46But if I am, I don't really like to admit that I am. Yeah, I would say for sure that's
11:51probably our
11:52biggest, our biggest struggle. This reminds me of our first house and you redid that one. But we're
11:58also 21 years old and had a lot more time and we knew the area. We don't know like people
12:04to work
12:04here or I don't know. I think you could do it. It definitely has potential. What's in here?
12:11This is a nice bathroom. I would want to change some of these colors though. I don't know how I
12:16feel about the brown. This is definitely 50 shades of brown. Brown toilet, brown bathtub. That's
12:21interesting. Let's see what the rest of the house is like. Okay. Oh, wow. So big. Yeah. This is
12:28nice. Great. The furniture is nice too. Yeah. Test it out. Scoot over. Make room for me.
12:37Yeah. This is nice. I think this would work for us. Now this is a nice bathroom. This one has
12:42been
12:42updated. I like that. And then this bedroom is big too. Yeah, this is great. Plenty of space. Yeah. Full
12:49beds, green beds. Yeah. Four kiddos. So plenty of room. Kyle, great job. Cute house, right? I really
12:58like it. You can't beat this view. Yeah, for sure. Bedrooms were big. This outdoor space is
13:03unbelievable. I could put a grill there. I think I'd spend all my time out here. Yeah, this is going
13:08to be my future office. I mean, that's a good place to work. Yeah, I don't blame you. I am
13:13concerned a
13:14little bit about like some of the updates. Small changes turn into big changes, which turns into big
13:19money. You don't have to rush the process of doing any upgrades or any renovations right away.
13:24Take your time. I think I could be happy with a brown toilet if I had this view. I don't
13:30know. I
13:31don't know about that. So I am really torn on this house because I do love the yard. I love
13:36the view,
13:36but with the updates, I just don't know if we're gonna be able to make it work. Could we maybe
13:40see
13:40something a little bit more move-in ready? This property is under the budget, right onto the beach.
13:45I don't know how we're going to deliver on these properties, but I have to manage expectations.
13:50The choices are slim and the demand is high.
14:02I'm starting to get my bearings on this place. Yeah, you're a pro.
14:07I think I could live here full time.
14:14This is like a postcard. Let's go make our own postcard.
14:17We've been all over the world and the atmosphere here is so different than any place that we've
14:22ever been. I love you. I love you too. To be able to find a place like this that is
14:27not commercialized,
14:29to not have hotels right on the beach or lots of people, we just fell in love.
14:36You don't even need a car here. Everybody just drives golf carts around. The charm of the island
14:40really is incredible. Would y'all guys like to try a conch salad? Absolutely. We have tomatoes,
14:48onions, orange, lime, and the conch is very healthy. You're all familiar with the conch pistol?
14:54Uh, no. They say it makes you better under the sheet. Sign me up. So I guess time will tell.
15:10I truly want to give Heather and Aaron everything they're asking for, but I really don't think that
15:15exists. Keep telling them it's not a lot of options they could find. They have to compromise with each
15:20other. They may find themselves not even purchasing anything in Spanish Wells. So this property is a
15:25bit more practical. I think Aaron may fall in love with this one for sure. Yeah. What's the price?
15:31$750,000. I'm in love. So for $750,000, what are we not getting? The yard isn't as big as
15:37the other
15:37properties and you're not getting toes in the sand for sure. Does it have a view? No view. That's what
15:43you sacrifice at this price point, but it's a three bedroom, two bath, beautiful pastel colors. Yeah,
15:51this is definitely what I think about when I think of Bahamas. It's really cute. And then the property,
15:58manageable, pretty practical. I can't hear or see the ocean. With the money we're saving,
16:03we can just hang a nice picture of the beach inside the house. That's a terrible comeback.
16:08Listen, we are just a short walk from the beach. Less than a minute here. Take a look inside. I'll

16:15out here for you guys. Oh wow. This is really up big. This is really nice. It's really big. I
16:22love
16:22these floors. These are great. Yeah. And the ceilings are really cute. Yeah. Great character. And this
16:29furniture is awesome. Oh, this is a good size bedroom. Yeah, this really is. There's no door on the closet,
16:36which is a little strange. That's weird. There's a small closet as well. This could be your office.
16:42I could work here. Yeah. But that view. I would much rather look at a beach than a white wall.
16:49I mean,
16:49it's a beautiful white wall. There's nothing wrong with that. Yeah, right. I do agree. The view is
16:54very much lacking. I'm struggling with trying to make Heather happy and still be responsible for our
17:00family. That's a tough balancing act. There is a lot at stake making any purchase, but especially a purchase
17:06like this. Oh, this is really cute. Wow. Yeah. There's room for the whole crew in here. Yeah.
17:24Oh, this is a good size bathroom. Oh yeah. This is great. This must be the primary bedroom. Yeah. This
17:31furniture is nice. Yeah. And this is like brand new. Like it smells new. This is awesome. But another
17:37bad closet situation. This house has closet issues. Yeah. There's not much storage space here. And it
17:43doesn't have the beach view. Yeah. That view's okay. We don't need a beach view in the bedroom anyway.
18:02This dining room is like so bright. This is great. I love that it's so open. Yeah. It opens up
18:08straight
18:08into the living room and the kitchen. I mean, we would not have to do a thing to this. That
18:12is true. It is
18:13move in ready like you want. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Oh, nice. This is a great patio. I'm not sure
18:20exactly how private it would be. It certainly doesn't have the beach view. But a fire pit?
18:27Look at this. Don't you think we'd spend time out here? I think you're just trying to distract me from
18:32the fact that there's no beach. Maybe a little bit. But you know I love fire pits. Who needs a
18:37fire pit in
18:37the Bahamas? Do you think we can make this house work? I'm just really torn because I wanted to be
18:44on the beach. I know. But is this house close enough? Like we can literally walk there. It's
18:49really hard because I don't want to stress Aaron out with the budget. But I do have my heart set
18:56on
18:57something and so I'm torn. Here we go. It'll come back. It'll come back. It is beautiful. I know.
19:19This could be like our everyday life. Just hop outside. Go feed the stingrays. Who needs a dog?
19:24Yeah, seriously. He's so cute.
19:30This is beautiful, isn't it? Yeah. It's amazing. I'm so excited to move here.
19:35We just have to decide on which house. Yeah, we do. I think each three of those houses has
19:41something a little bit different. But it also with every one of those houses, we sacrifice something a
19:47little bit different. I think we also have to go back and remember like the main reason why we're doing
19:52this. So like it's not the house specifically, right? It's that we want to be on this island,
19:59on Spanish Wells, and we want to experience this all the time. And also like we're getting back to
20:05where we spend a ton of time together. So I don't think we can go wrong with whatever house we
20:12choose.
20:20Inventory is so limited on this island. It's a small island. There's not a lot of houses. A lot
20:25of the houses that we saw were out of our price range or needed a ton of work. And so
20:29I feel very
20:30blessed and fortunate that we we found this house and it ended up being perfect for us.
20:36I really wanted to be on the beach, but this island is so small. You're not far from a beach
20:41no matter
20:42where you are. So buying a house in the Bahamas has brought our whole family closer together.
20:49Spending time outside at the beach. It's just been really great for our kids.
20:54We got Oreo or coconut. Where are you going to choose? Oreo and coconut. That's a tough choice.
20:59Yeah, after you've been together for 20 years, this was just the thing that we needed to re-spark
21:06and recharge. That is good. It really has reconnected us, sparked our love life. Look at that.
21:15All right, you were right. A fire pit is still neat even in the Bahamas. I told you. Life is
21:20just so
21:20much more fun and romantic. You had conch today, huh? I did have conch today. It's like we're dating again.
21:27It's amazing. He gets vacation, Heather, all the time.
