00:01Tell me what you remember.
00:05Home.
00:07The Odyssey is definitely the biggest movie
00:09that I've ever done in my career.
00:11It was like making a movie the way we would have made it 100 years ago.
00:14Except for the fact that it's on IMAX.
00:21IMAX is a camera that doesn't lie.
00:23This is definitely the format or the window
00:26that this story wants to be seen in.
00:28And that has always been our first choice.
00:32Chris and Hoyter never cease to surprise me.
00:35If there's one thing they're gonna do,
00:37it's innovate and find new ways to create
00:40and do things that quite literally have never been done before.
00:43For me, it's been my long-held dream.
00:46I mean, really, since I was about 16 years old,
00:47to do an entire film on IMAX.
00:51The thing that was stopping us was always the sound.
00:54My first time working on IMAX was with Chris.
00:57And I remember thinking, gosh, it's loud.
01:01I've been thinking, like, is that what it's gonna sound like
01:04like when we shoot our scenes?
01:05Like, that's really distracting.
01:07And then they brought the blimp out.
01:22We had gone to IMAX and sort of challenged them
01:25to create new cameras that were quiet,
01:28or at the very least create a blimp
01:30that would baffle the noise of the camera.
01:32They came back to us with new cameras plus a blimp.
01:36It's a gigantic, super-heavy box.
01:39But we, as filmmakers, we're not supposed to be comfortable.
01:43We're supposed to present the audience
01:45with the best experience possible.
01:47So all our effort was all in service
01:50of making that work on set.
01:53The people that we were working with
01:54are so adaptable, resourceful.
01:58They figured out how to do it.
01:59Creating a mirror system
02:00so that the actors could see each other around the camera.
02:04It feels like you're shooting a scene with, like, an SUV.
02:09Like, even with the size of the camera,
02:11you just feel like the machine would move slower
02:14and it just moves faster
02:16than if you were shooting it on an iPhone.
02:20By sheer sort of will and excitement,
02:23before we knew it, we were up on cliffs with it
02:25and in boats, and every day of the shoot
02:29it became easier for us to work with.
02:31And so, for the first time ever,
02:32we've been able to do the entire film
02:34on the incredible IMAX film format.
02:36It's a long-held dream finally coming to fruition.
02:41Action!
02:43Chris really shoots on this massive scale,
02:47on this massive format,
02:48but he basically shoots independent films.
02:50And there's a lot of urgency to that.
02:53He goes the extra distance
02:54to make it feel authentic for us on set.
02:57And I think the IMAX is going to really allow the audience
03:00to feel like they are a part of this journey with us.
03:03You're really going to be immersed in this world.
03:07I'm like, as a fan, I'm so excited to see this film.
03:11Like, I cannot wait to sit in that IMAX theater
03:14and completely be lost in this world that he's created.
03:19I would say this movie is in your lifetime.
03:23If there is one movie that you go to the cinema,
03:26no matter what, this is the movie to do.
03:29Because this is pure cinema.
03:34No one could stand between my man...
03:37and home.
