00:00So a little bit of a Star Wars reference here.
00:02I think those that know our Mars rovers, Curiosity and Perseverance.
00:07Well, there is another.
00:09And the engineering development unit for it is called Promise.
00:14And I'd say we are thinking very hard right now about sending Promise to the moon.
00:22That would be an awesome capability.
00:26First of all, core moon-based objectives.
00:28You know, having a nuclear RTG on it, it allows us to go anywhere we want, regardless of the illumination.
00:37Surviving the lunar night is going to be one of the bigger challenges.
00:40With this capability, we wouldn't have to worry about that.
00:43So long traverses, getting into those very hard-to-reach areas, just like Curiosity and Perseverance have shown us on
00:49the surface of Mars.
00:50That would be awesome.
00:51But then we have payload capacity, significant on this thing.
00:55So we're going to work with our partners in the science mission directorate to find the best payloads we can
01:02have, put them on this rover, and get groundbreaking science out of it.
01:06So we're very excited about this possibility, which we're still studying.
01:11But anyway, we are in the business of the near impossible, so why not?
01:16I'm optimistic.
01:17Well, there's no shortage of great things to talk about.
01:20And for everyone watching today, all of this information can be found by visiting our Moonbase website at www.nasa
01:28.gov slash moonbase.
