00:00Ciao Luca Tiziana.
00:01Ciao Angel Manuel, I'm Lucrezia, I come from Rome, I write for Dira, nice to meet you.
00:07Nice to meet you too, real pleasure.
00:10In Blue Beetle, Jamie and his family are very close, unlike what we see in our days.
00:17How important is it to show this connection?
00:23To be honest, it's the only thing I know.
00:26When I talk, when I think about family and connection with family, I'm making movies about things that we know.
00:35The closeness that I have with my family is what we try to communicate because I don't know anything other
00:42than that.
00:43So it is important to have that type of family relationship.
00:48I think, you know, whether it is the family that you choose or the family that you have, at the
00:55end of the day, that support system is what actually makes us the people we are today.
01:02Blue Beetle is the first Latino superhero in the DC universe.
01:07The big screen is a place where everyone can recognize themselves.
01:14But behind the camera, there is still a struggle to recognize rights, to work with people.
01:21This is something to think about.
01:24What do you think about it?
01:26Well, I think that we have to do everything in power to amend that.
01:30That shouldn't be the case.
01:32And any type of struggle and efforts that are being done to rectify that should be supported by any means.
01:45So, yeah, for me, I'm all in support of the people that are fighting for better treatment and better pay
01:55and more rights.
01:57The villain is in the movie is Victoria Accord, played by Susan Saradon.
02:04This is the first superhero movie for her.
02:07What was the experience like and what did she give the story?
02:12Well, for me, it was an amazing experience because I've always wanted to work with Susan.
02:18It's a dream come true.
02:20It's also for her, it was also the first time doing a superhero movie.
02:26And one of the stuff that we were talking about that she kind of liked is that she understood what
02:32her character represents.
02:35She felt that that type of story needed to be told.
02:39And although she's going to be one of the villains in the story, she knew that the impact of what
02:47she's representing
02:48and what she is allowing the other ones to be heroic about, it is the conversation to be had.
02:55So she understood the assignment and she went far and beyond to give us an amazing character.
03:03Mangel, gracias por tu tiempo.
03:05It was a pleasure talking to you.
03:06Gracias.
03:07¿Pudimos haber hecho esto en español?
03:09No.
03:11Bueno, un placer.
03:14Un placer.
