Firefighters battle blaze in 'highly unfavourable' conditions in southern France

A wildfire that has already burned around 900 hectares in southern France flares up again in the Aude region as firefighters warn of worsening weather conditions. "We know the wind is expected to pick up again in the afternoon. We are facing very adverse weather conditions," Christophe Magny, head of the Aude fire service (SDIS11), told AFP. The blaze, which broke out late on Monday, straddled the Aude and Herault departments.
