00:00:51Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.
00:00:53Welcome back, welcome back.
00:01:23Welcome back, welcome back.
00:01:53Welcome back, welcome back.
00:01:56Welcome back, welcome back.
00:02:11Welcome back.
00:02:22Sorry, I don't know what I'm talking about.
00:02:23Welcome back, welcome back.
00:02:31Welcome back, welcome back.
00:02:33Welcome back.
00:03:01Welcome back, welcome back.
00:03:08Welcome back.
00:03:11Thank you, thank you, thank you for asking that question.
00:03:15I started 19 years ago.
00:03:19Welcome back, welcome back.
00:03:39So, I was so good.
00:03:41I think I was still in first-year college or going to first-year college, high school towards college.
00:03:48I just asked myself to use my Nokia phone.
00:03:52And then...
00:03:53Where's the Nokia?
00:03:56Nokia 6670, if I remember correctly.
00:04:00I was 5110.
00:04:03I was 3210 at the first time.
00:04:05I was 3210.
00:04:06So, no.
00:04:07But yeah, I started with a Nokia.
00:04:10And...
00:04:11I didn't know how to paint.
00:04:13I don't...
00:04:13I still don't know how to paint.
00:04:15I don't know how to draw.
00:04:16But I always wanted to make images.
00:04:18I always wanted to make something that was close to painting and drawing.
00:04:23So, when I started doing photography kay Nakaingun,
00:04:27wala, pwede man ni, eh.
00:04:30And then, 19 years later, almost two decades later, naanata din eh.
00:04:35Sa pitik.
00:04:36Thanks to you, sir.
00:04:37Salamat, salamat.
00:04:39Kung alam ko ba, same ta kay ang akong lolo is a painter.
00:04:44As well as a photographer.
00:04:46Then I don't know how to paint.
00:04:48So, ka na.
00:04:51Nag light paint...
00:04:52Light painting ta.
00:04:55They know it.
00:04:56They know it.
00:04:56Because again, photography is drawing with light.
00:04:59Yeah.
00:04:59And ang ato ang...
00:05:00Ang atong canvas kay...
00:05:03Ang kalibutan outside...
00:05:05Outside.
00:05:06And then, ang ato ang gigamit nga paint is light.
00:05:12So, we're painting.
00:05:13We're drawing with light.
00:05:14So, I totally agree.
00:05:15I totally agree with you.
00:05:17From...
00:05:18Ano sa'y mga kasigari na yung mo i-take photos?
00:05:21Like, sa katong Nokia pa?
00:05:23Siguro, more like...
00:05:25More sag filmish effect tingali na.
00:05:27Ano sa'y mga take ni mo?
00:05:30Oh, yes.
00:05:32I...
00:05:33I...
00:05:34The usual.
00:05:35Kung makakita atang nindot na sunset.
00:05:37Oh, okay.
00:05:37Makakita atang nindot na orchid sa...
00:05:41Ako, specifically, akong lola na siya ay garden.
00:05:45So, um...
00:05:46I...
00:05:47I...
00:05:47I...
00:05:48I...
00:05:48I was always in her garden taking pictures of her orchids, her flowers.
00:05:52So, mga yun na akong ginasugdan.
00:05:55And I think photographers back in the day, sa toang panahon, I think the mid-2000s and early 2000s, magsugod
00:06:04yun ka mag-macro.
00:06:05So, I...
00:06:06I...
00:06:06If I remember...
00:06:08Sa that time, people who started to do photography did that.
00:06:13Nag-close-up yun ko, sige, makro, bahalag, out of focus, but...
00:06:32Ah, nindot ni nga scene in front of me, akong pikturan.
00:06:35So, I think I was just saying yes all the time to my intuition that I'm going to make a
00:06:43picture so I'm going to click it.
00:06:46Not like this, but I'm going to use my cell phone.
00:06:51I'm going to use my cell phone with my cell phone.
00:06:53In the video, I am going to use my cell phone.
00:06:59My cell phone.
00:07:02So, you can flip it with an extension tube.
00:07:07You can also use the 50mm or kit lens.
00:07:13You can't flip it.
00:07:17This one.
00:07:22From there,
00:07:23from there,
00:07:24from there,
00:07:30but from your college,
00:07:34what are you going to get?
00:07:35Are you still teaching photography?
00:07:38Yes, I am teaching photography
00:07:41in Solomon University
00:07:43under two colleges.
00:07:45The College of Mass Communication,
00:07:48I teach photojournalism
00:07:50and then the College of Performing
00:07:52and Visual Arts,
00:07:53the fine arts classes that I teach
00:07:56or explorations in photography.
00:07:58So, it's both photography
00:08:01but very different
00:08:02in the approach.
00:08:04But I think very similar
00:08:06It's the same medium
00:08:08but it's just like the delivery
00:08:09and the approach that's different.
00:08:11But, basically, photography
00:08:14good akong gitudlo.
00:08:15So,
00:08:18Karun,
00:08:19Karun,
00:08:21do you see photography
00:08:23or say mong gitudlo, Karun,
00:08:25do you see photojournalism
00:08:27like,
00:08:28mo grow?
00:08:31Sa tinood lang,
00:08:32gamay na lang kayo
00:08:33good ang mo take
00:08:35or risk na mahimong photojourn
00:08:37siguro.
00:08:39Salary or something.
00:08:41That's reality man.
00:08:44Can you ask,
00:08:45do you have a question
00:08:46to your students
00:08:48that you have done?
00:08:49Do you have 30 students?
00:08:54That's a very, very good question.
00:08:57Under the people
00:08:59or the students
00:09:00that I'm teaching,
00:09:02most of them have
00:09:04most of them have
00:09:05very diverse career paths
00:09:07so,
00:09:08so,
00:09:14I'm also very active
00:09:16outside the school.
00:09:18So,
00:09:19Dumaguete has a very big
00:09:20photography community
00:09:22and especially a very big
00:09:24street and documentary
00:09:26photography community.
00:09:27so,
00:09:28on the campus,
00:09:29maybe it's just a little bit
00:09:30outside the campus
00:09:32through the photography
00:09:34communities,
00:09:35you have a lot of
00:09:37photographers,
00:09:38especially younger
00:09:39photographers
00:09:40that are very interested
00:09:42with photojournalism.
00:09:45But,
00:09:46it's a cutthroat industry.
00:09:53It's a very difficult place
00:10:10to navigate
00:10:11into
00:10:13once,
00:10:14or once you decide
00:10:15that you're going to go
00:10:16for a living.
00:10:18But,
00:10:19it also,
00:10:20at the same time,
00:10:22Murag,
00:10:22I just left it
00:10:23to take
00:10:25interest.
00:10:26Actually,
00:10:27I was,
00:10:29I spent
00:10:31a day and a half
00:10:33with people
00:10:34from PhotoMoto.
00:10:35They're like Vijay,
00:10:36Villafranca,
00:10:36shoutout,
00:10:37Sir Vijay,
00:10:38Nana,
00:10:39Busani,
00:10:40Neil Oshima,
00:10:42Eugiyo,
00:10:43Panilio.
00:10:44The story
00:10:45came out
00:10:46with Vijay
00:10:49that
00:10:53resurgence
00:10:54and
00:10:54Murag
00:10:55there's
00:10:56that
00:10:57re-emergence
00:10:58of documentary
00:10:59photography
00:11:00now.
00:11:01It's time
00:11:01to use
00:11:02portraits,
00:11:04glamour,
00:11:05fashion,
00:11:06but there's
00:11:07time in
00:11:08photography,
00:11:09especially with
00:11:10the roots
00:11:12of street
00:11:14photography.
00:11:14It's different
00:11:15that they think
00:11:16beyond
00:11:19single images
00:11:20but they want
00:11:21to do
00:11:22more of
00:11:23photo projects
00:11:24that
00:11:25it's a
00:11:26body of work.
00:11:27So,
00:11:28Murag,
00:11:29positive
00:11:29my
00:11:33photojournalist
00:11:34first of all,
00:11:37first of all,
00:11:37si
00:11:38Sir Vijay,

00:12:52homeless,
00:12:53just,
00:12:53just to take photo,
00:12:55and to say,
00:12:56na,
00:12:56I have a good photo,
00:12:58of a portrait,
00:12:59of a homeless person,
00:13:00and,
00:13:01that's it,
00:13:02for the like,
00:13:03then,

00:13:12ah,
00:13:12murag,
00:13:12upgrade,
00:13:13or,
00:13:14na,
00:13:15ah,
00:13:15ah,
00:13:18street,
00:13:18ah,
00:13:20ah,
00:13:31i totally agree,
00:13:32murag,
00:13:33instead of thinking about singular images,
00:13:36I always tell the people that I go out on photo walks with, especially in Dumaguete, it's important to have
00:13:45context and narrative.
00:13:47And for you to get context and narrative, you actually have to be out there experiencing photography itself, walking, talking,
00:13:58interacting, and just putting yourself out there.
00:14:02If you only feel like you're doing it, you just feel like you're doing it, what if once a month
00:14:09you feel like you're doing it once a month, you're not going to experience outside.
00:14:15So I would like, no, not I would like, but I firmly believe that if you want to become a
00:14:24better photographer, want to become a better photojournalist, or if you want to become better at anything that you want
00:14:31to do,
00:14:31you have to be consistent with it.
00:14:34You should be able to do it, you should be able to do it, you should be able to create
00:14:38the activity once you're doing it, you're better at it.
00:14:44There's no way to get photographs.
00:14:46I mean, you can take pictures inside your house, but if you want to know stories, if you want to
00:14:53know people, and if you want to tell stories,
00:14:56you have to go outside and experience the world.
00:14:59And I think photography is an experiential, especially a very physical experience.
00:15:07It involves a lot of walking, it involves a lot of interacting, and it involves a lot of being uncomfortable
00:15:16outside in public.
00:15:18So it must be a mix of everything so that you're comfortable with.
00:15:24I mean, you can take pictures, you can take pictures.
00:15:55Every day, if you can, you can practice.
00:16:00Imagine, street photography and photojournalist you combine.
00:16:04Nindot kayo.
00:16:07Nagtanaw ang Osaka Idol, si Anton.
00:16:11Sir Anton, Belyo, kamusta naman ka?
00:16:14Sir Anton, idol.
00:16:15Hi, boss, Oli.
00:16:20Hello from Takloban, Sachi, Kua.
00:16:24Sachi, Kua, Kua.
00:16:26Sorry, ha.
00:16:27Jem, so Sir Jem watching.
00:16:29One of the best and most grounded street photographers out there.
00:16:33Nice seeing you, Sir Yurich from Jem.
00:16:38Flores Kim, let's go.
00:16:40Wow, wow, wow, wow.
00:16:41And Gugmang Lagan, Alan Tangkawan.
00:16:44Musta, diha.
00:16:45Okay, so, street, from macro, nag-macro ka, ha?
00:16:54Onsan mo pag-abot na, nabot ka street, do you, onsan mo mong buha to nag,
00:17:01kinsay mo mong tanahon ng mga photos, or naman d'yo tayo mong tanahon before,
00:17:07ala, ala, gano'n ko, anida, ala, gano'n, ana ba?
00:17:11Asa ka ni, venture to.
00:17:14Taas-taas ding story, ha?
00:17:15Sige lang, taas-taas po ta.
00:17:17Sige, so, so, I started with that Nokia camera.
00:17:22And then, after, after I maxed it out, nga ka nang murag feeling na ko, murag maunag yun na yung
00:17:29pinaka-best akong mahimo, aninga camera.
00:17:32I was probably 16 or 17, no, 15 or 16 that time.
00:17:38So, nagpadayon lang yung pinaka-point-and-shoot camera sa akong mama.
00:17:42It was a Casio XLM XS500, if I can remember correctly.
00:18:07So, I just wanted to take pictures of things that were different than the usual things I saw at home,
00:18:13or the things that I saw near home.
00:18:16After ato, ni ato ko sa gawas, nakatrabaho ko, college pa ko, nag-summer job ko.
00:18:24And that was when I got my very first DSLR.
00:18:28This was around 2010.
00:18:31And this was also the same year that, along with, I think, 4, 5, 6, less than 10 photographers,
00:18:41we founded the Sileman University Camera Club.
00:18:44Kay, we had to cover Uni Games 2010.
00:18:48And nanginangalan man sila ang photographers.
00:18:51So, nagtapok mitan na ang photographers sa Sileman.
00:18:54We said, wala pa may alimuhag on-sa-on pag-picture, but we had camera.
00:18:59So, that was the start of it.
00:19:02And I was lucky enough to have really good mentors.
00:19:06And I would like to mention one mentor who really shaped the way,
00:19:12not just how I took or made photographs,
00:19:16but the most important thing was how I interacted with people.
00:19:20How I carried myself into places, into talking with people, talking to clients.
00:19:27Shout out to Kuya Greg Morales.
00:19:30So, siya ang akong mentor na nasa sa New York ka ron.
00:19:33And then, nagpadayon lang ko, padayon lang ko,
00:19:36until I started reading and I discovered Magnum Photos.
00:19:44And this was around 2012, 2013.
00:19:48I got my very first Magnum book.
00:19:50It was called Magnum Magnum in 2014.
00:19:54And pag-abri pa lang naku sa libro ni Anna ko,
00:19:58muna akong ganahang buhatun.
00:20:00Muna akong ganahang imuon nga,
00:20:03to tell stories of people,
00:20:06to tell your own story po through your photographs.
00:20:12And to have that humanity,
00:20:18humanity can be very,
00:20:20can be both,
00:20:22nasa sa extremes bit now,
00:20:24extreme na kalipay, extreme na kaguol,
00:20:27and ang work sa Magnum really resonated with me.
00:20:32So, nakadesign ko atong mogud to,
00:20:40akong mogud ni,
00:20:41akong ganahang buhatun.
00:20:42So, it was, it was,
00:20:44it was through buying that book
00:20:46into, into street photography
00:20:49and eventually documentary photography.
00:20:53So, mauna,
00:20:55kita ko Anna sa iyong trabaho.
00:20:58Okay, ang,
00:21:00kaya ba ako ang Magnum?
00:21:03Is,
00:21:03more a group of photographers
00:21:05na,
00:21:07not only photojourn,
00:21:09it's like,

00:23:00what I usually tell my students to,
00:23:01and I got this from,
00:23:03the great,
00:23:04Joel Meyerowitz,
00:23:06he,

00:23:13I think,
00:23:13in France,

00:23:14and he was,
00:23:15he is still very,
00:23:16very popular,

00:23:18his work span decades,
00:23:20and he still makes photographs,
00:23:22until now,
00:23:23and,
00:23:24and,
00:23:25naagid siya,
00:23:27naasya,
00:23:27kanyang,
00:23:28iyahang framework,
00:23:29with you,

00:23:34na,
00:23:35instead of taking photographs,
00:23:38make photographs,
00:23:39because,
00:23:40when you,

00:23:51what you're doing,
00:23:52and at least have an idea,
00:23:54on what you want to get,
00:23:56in your photograph,
00:23:58na nakai intention,
00:23:59and once you have that intention,
00:24:01you're,
00:24:02you're,
00:24:02you're more equipped,
00:24:03to go out,
00:24:04because,
00:24:05you have direction,
00:24:06and I think,
00:24:07that's,
00:24:08that's something,
00:24:09that we should practice,
00:24:10instead of just taking pictures,
00:24:12we should try to,
00:24:13to make them.

00:25:39um,
00:25:40ang ako-upward,
00:25:41ganahan ko,
00:25:42ganahan saan ko mo share sir nga,
00:25:44murag,
00:25:45sa kadugay,
00:25:46I mean,
00:25:47I've been,
00:25:49I've been doing this for almost two decades,
00:25:51more than half of my life,
00:25:53and,
00:25:54when I started doing this consistently,
00:25:57the practice of going out,
00:25:58the practice of making photographs,
00:26:00the practice of walking,
00:26:01and doing photography,
00:26:03sa unake,
00:26:04I always wanted to chase that photograph,
00:26:07I wanted,
00:26:08there was always that something in my mind,
00:26:10na dapat karong adlawa,
00:26:11umugawas ko,
00:26:12na agad ko'y makuha nga picture,
00:26:14and then I,
00:26:15I would usually,
00:26:16get like one or two good pictures,
00:26:18and I would call it a day,
00:26:20but,
00:26:22not recently,
00:26:24but,
00:26:25there's also been a shift,
00:26:27that's been happening within me,
00:26:30murag,
00:26:30nakarealize ko,
00:26:32nga,
00:26:33karon,
00:26:34wala na ko kaayaw nangita,
00:26:36sa photograph itself,
00:26:38but,
00:26:39I am actually,
00:26:40now in love,
00:26:41with the process,
00:26:42of photographing,
00:26:44itself,
00:26:45not,
00:26:46finding,
00:26:47the best photograph,
00:26:49but,
00:26:49the act of going out,
00:26:51the act of walking,
00:26:52the act of really feeling,
00:26:54the heat of the sun,
00:26:55while you're walking,
00:26:57that,
00:26:57that excitedness,
00:26:59na makakita,
00:26:59abitaw kagshot,
00:27:00sa imong mind's eye,
00:27:01na hala,
00:27:01picture na,
00:27:03sa oon ako,
00:27:03pag-adtoan ng lugar,
00:27:05or kaning napita,
00:27:06na di makabantay ang tao,
00:27:08na maka perfectly angle ko,
00:27:10na in a few shots,
00:27:11makuha na ako,
00:27:12anong shot,
00:27:13so,
00:27:14kanadaan na fact,
00:27:15na ma-excite ko,
00:27:16sa process,
00:27:18mas murag na-liberate,
00:27:19ang ako ang practice,
00:27:21because,
00:27:22instead of chasing greatness,
00:27:24I am experiencing,
00:27:26the greatness,
00:27:27of the medium,
00:27:28itself,
00:27:28by being present,
00:27:30by being intention,
00:27:31and by enjoying it,
00:27:35and not pressuring myself,
00:27:37to get that perfect photograph,
00:27:40pag-shift na ako,
00:27:41ana,
00:27:41kayo morag nakarealize,
00:27:42kung labo,
00:27:43ang ano,
00:27:43pwede raman di,
00:27:44ay,
00:27:45kay,
00:27:45ang act of photographing,
00:27:47itself,
00:27:47muna ay malimutan,
00:27:48mag-good na to,
00:27:49kay mag-chase lang,
00:27:50kasi,
00:27:51it's a perfect photo,
00:27:54but,
00:27:55malimutan nga,
00:27:57ang pag-awas lang na to,
00:27:59daan,
00:28:00ang pag-get out,
00:28:01not the fact nga,
00:28:02ni photo walk ka,
00:28:04honor yourself,
00:28:04tell yourself nga,
00:28:06hey,
00:28:07you did a great job,
00:28:08by just showing up today,
00:28:11and,
00:28:11I would like to,
00:28:12to also inspire,
00:28:14other people,
00:28:15other photographers,
00:28:16to have that shift,
00:28:18in,
00:28:18in your mindset,
00:28:20na,
00:28:20instead of looking for that perfect photo,
00:28:22try to be in love,
00:28:24with the process of photographing,
00:28:26itself.

00:29:31pero,
00:29:32I can be,
00:29:32I can shift,
00:29:33I can be an extrovert,
00:29:35I can be an introvert,
00:29:36some say,
00:29:36it's being an ambivert,

00:29:44I,
00:29:44I would limit it to just five people,
00:29:46kaya,
00:29:47when there's too many of you,
00:29:49you,
00:29:49you,
00:29:50you destroy the flow,
00:29:51of what's happening around you.
00:29:54If,
00:29:54and when you would lift your camera,
00:30:03they would say,

00:36:07a kind of lens that,
00:36:09wide lang,
00:36:11or,
00:36:13sometimes,
00:36:14nakoy mga kaila is,
00:36:16mag zoom while,
00:36:18street photography,
00:36:20or,
00:36:20ikaw,
00:36:21the type of,
00:36:22you want dool ka?
00:36:25good question,
00:36:26um,
00:36:27I use,
00:36:28I shoot,
00:36:29uh,
00:36:30with a Fuji X100F,
00:36:32so,
00:36:32it has a fixed 23mm lens,
00:36:34times 1.5,
00:36:36it's around 35mm,
00:36:38so,
00:36:39um,
00:36:40sa una,
00:36:41I've,
00:36:41I started shooting extensively,
00:36:43documenting the streets,
00:36:45and the changes in Dumaguete,
00:36:47started in 2013,
00:36:48until 2016,
00:36:51I used an iPhone,
00:36:53extensively,
00:36:54yan,
00:36:54katong mga karaan nga iPhone,
00:36:56na,
00:36:56na siya sa mga 28mm,
00:36:58and then,
00:36:58nag-shift ko,
00:37:00into,
00:37:01nag-canon pa man ko before,
00:37:02canon nga pancake,
00:37:0424mm,
00:37:04so,
00:37:05pag-shift na ko,
00:37:06into Fuji,
00:37:07nag-bali na ko,
00:37:0823,
00:37:09so,
00:37:10gamay na lang kayong adjustment,
00:37:11so,
00:37:12to answer your question,
00:37:13I like to shoot with a 23,
00:37:15and a 35mm equivalent,
00:37:18because ganahan ko,
00:37:19I like my photographs,
00:37:21to feel,
00:37:22realistic,
00:37:23I want them to feel,
00:37:24as if,
00:37:25galantaw ka,
00:37:26with your own set of eyes,
00:37:28because our eyes,
00:37:29they see roughly around,
00:37:31that focal length po,
00:37:32ang ato,
00:37:33ang field of view,
00:37:34nasa mga around,
00:37:3535,
00:37:36siguro,
00:37:37to 40,
00:37:37na iuban mo yung 50,
00:37:39I'm not sure,
00:37:39the exact,
00:37:40with the exact number,
00:37:42but,
00:37:42if ganahan ko,
00:37:43mupaduol,
00:37:44I use my feet,
00:37:46to zoom in,
00:37:47and I use my feet,
00:37:49to zoom out,
00:37:50so,
00:37:52I think,
00:37:54using one lens,
00:37:55and one camera,
00:37:57is also a good practice,
00:37:58if you,
00:38:00want to,
00:38:01if you really want to master,
00:38:04what you're using,
00:38:05or the tool,
00:38:06that you're using,
00:38:07it's a limit,
00:38:08but through that limitation,
00:38:11you're also maximizing,
00:38:12your capacity,
00:38:13to be creative,
00:38:14with it,
00:38:15and I like,
00:38:16to challenge myself,
00:38:18every day,
00:38:18with shooting,
00:38:20just,
00:38:20with shooting,
00:38:21just one camera,
00:38:22and one lens,
00:38:23and so far,
00:38:24comfortably,
00:38:25kaya ko,
00:38:25na nga focal length,
00:38:26ka nang 35 millimeters,
00:38:28na ako yung zoom,
00:38:29na ako yung line,
00:38:30nga prime lenses,
00:38:31but I use it,
00:38:32for professional work,
00:38:33if na ako yung corporate,
00:38:34nga shoot,
00:38:35if na ako yung,
00:38:38portraits,
00:38:39magamit,
00:38:39gud ko sa akong 50,
00:38:41or if na,
00:38:41mo shoot,
00:38:42siguro ko,
00:38:43kaya I also do,
00:38:44I also do corporate jobs,
00:38:47sometimes,
00:38:48and if mo shoot ko,
00:38:49og mga interior photographs,
00:38:51especially,
00:38:52mag shoot,
00:38:53bansad kog airbnb,
00:38:55I've shot,
00:38:56quite a few airbnbs,
00:38:58in Dumaguete,
00:38:59and outside Dumaguete,
00:39:00and,
00:39:01magamit yung,
00:39:01kog 10mm,
00:39:03or 12mm,
00:39:04ka nang wide,
00:39:04ka ayo,
00:39:05pero sa akong own,
00:39:06professional,
00:39:07not professional,
00:39:08well,
00:39:08I would still call it professional,
00:39:10in my own,
00:39:13photography work,
00:39:14ang akong ginagamit,
00:39:15kaya ako arag yung,
00:39:16X100F,
00:39:17with the 23mm,
00:39:19which is equivalent to 35mm.
00:39:22Okay.
00:39:23Which would you prefer?
00:39:25Connect ka with the people,
00:39:27or to be invincible?
00:39:30Ah,
00:39:31good,
00:39:32good question.
00:39:34Last Tanagita,
00:39:37December pa no?
00:39:38Ah.
00:39:39Last December,
00:39:40baga,
00:39:40pagkikugbongot.
00:39:42And,
00:39:43katong nabongot,
00:39:45funnily enough,
00:39:47people would assume,
00:39:49that I was a foreigner,
00:39:50because of my beard.
00:39:51In a weird way,
00:39:53people would assume,
00:39:54sir,
00:39:54take my picture,
00:39:55who are you,
00:39:56what are you doing?
00:39:57So ako,
00:39:58ako to siyang murag,
00:40:00ah,
00:40:00nakaingon silang foreigner ko,
00:40:02so murag,
00:40:03stranger ko,
00:40:03aning nga lugar,
00:40:04so dili lang saan ko mutingog,
00:40:06dili ko mo interact,
00:40:07mutpicture ako,
00:40:08then,
00:40:08mapahiyom lang ko,
00:40:09and then,
00:40:10mugo about your day lang ko,
00:40:11or muwok ko.
00:40:13Karun nga nang shave na ko,
00:40:15maklaro naman akong nao,
00:40:16nga bisdak,
00:40:17nga pinuig yun kayo,
00:40:18so,
00:40:18I try to,
00:40:19to interact with people,
00:40:21but,
00:40:23most,
00:40:23most of my photographs,
00:40:25I really like it to be very,
00:40:28kanang murag,
00:40:29unbother,
00:40:29not unbothered,
00:40:30but,
00:40:31wala,
00:40:31dili sila aware,
00:40:32nga na ako,
00:40:33though they are aware,
00:40:35but,
00:40:35when I take the picture,
00:40:36they aren't aware for that split,
00:40:38in that split second,
00:40:40when I take the picture,
00:40:41so,
00:40:41it's a mix of both,
00:40:42kanang wala na ko'y bungot,
00:40:44wala na ko'y,
00:40:44wala na ko'y,
00:40:45kanang mascara,
00:40:46nga makaingon sila nga,
00:40:48foreigner ko,
00:40:48or on sa,
00:40:49murag,
00:40:50kuhan ron,
00:40:51kanang murag,
00:40:52koreano,
00:40:52kanang,
00:40:54anong,
00:40:57so,
00:40:58kanang,
00:41:00so,
00:41:01depende man sa,
00:41:02good sa,
00:41:03situation,
00:41:04or sa lugar po,
00:41:06if,
00:41:07ang mga tao,
00:41:08kanang,
00:41:10sahay,
00:41:10nahi mo suko,
00:41:11sahay mo,
00:41:12na,
00:41:13suway na ka,
00:41:13nahi mo suko?
00:41:15Oo,
00:41:15sulay kayo,
00:41:16sulay kayo.
00:41:17On sa may,
00:41:18kung ano ni mo,
00:41:18buhato ni mo,
00:41:19ana?
00:41:21Ako,
00:41:21ay,
00:41:23kalmaragyod,
00:41:24like,
00:41:24you can't fire,
00:41:25you can't fight fire with fire.
00:41:27Okay.
00:41:27If you become aggressive with an aggressor na nasuko sa'yin mo,
00:41:31mas mudako lang ang away,
00:41:32or ang conflict.
00:41:34So,
00:41:34what I would do,
00:41:35I would explain myself,
00:41:36na,
00:41:36sir,
00:41:38si Yurich Kalumpang ko,
00:41:39photographer di ay ko,

00:42:09of things,

00:42:12that we want to,
00:42:13that we want to really keep,
00:42:16and put it in an archive kay.
00:42:18Ako mismo,
00:42:19sa ako ang own personal work,
00:42:23the document gudgo sa Dumaguete,
00:42:25and nakita yun ako ang changes bitaw,
00:42:29though,
00:42:30there are a lot of good changes,
00:42:32in terms of infrastructure,
00:42:35in terms of,
00:42:36you know,
00:42:37tourism,
00:42:38and,

00:45:06kani,
00:45:07ah,
00:45:09can you explain,
00:45:09this was in,
00:45:11ah,
00:45:11this was during,
00:45:13the year-end photo walk,
00:45:14in Tanhai,
00:45:15so,
00:45:15every,
00:45:16every,
00:45:17every year,
00:45:17every,
00:45:17um,
00:45:18December 31,
00:45:19nahimuunag yun ng tradisyon,
00:45:21na ko,
00:45:21o,
00:45:22mga,
00:45:22photographers po,
00:45:23sa dumageteng,
00:45:24mag year-end photo walk me,
00:45:25I think sa Cebu,
00:45:26nag,
00:45:26nag a year-end photo walk po,
00:45:28mo,
00:45:28to just document,
00:45:30the last day of the year,
00:45:31and this was taken,
00:45:32during that photo walk,
00:45:34December 31st,
00:45:35in my hometown,
00:45:37sa Tanhai,
00:45:37and,
00:45:38I really love,
00:45:40to play with layers,
00:45:41one of my biggest influences,
00:45:44is Alex Webb,
00:45:45and,
00:45:46Alex Webb,
00:45:47is a master,
00:45:48of layering,
00:45:49how he,
00:45:50he positions his elements,
00:45:52inside the frame,
00:45:53and ako po,
00:45:54mindful ko,
00:45:55na,
00:45:55plus,
00:45:56you know,
00:45:56injecting my own style,
00:45:59ganahan ko,
00:45:59when I layer my photographs,
00:46:01nag-ihapon siya'y rhythm,
00:46:03nag-ihapon siya'y flow,
00:46:05and I try not to make my photo,
00:46:07I try not to make the elements overlap each other,
00:46:10in my,
00:46:11in the frame.
00:46:12So,
00:46:12kanay,
00:46:12magkita ni mong naigamay yung overlap,
00:46:14but,
00:46:15mostly,
00:46:15magkita ni mong arms,
00:46:17ang kamot,
00:46:17o,
00:46:18ang tao sa likod,
00:46:19or in the background,
00:46:21and,
00:46:21of course,
00:46:22the elements in the foreground.
00:46:23Yeah.
00:46:24Na,
00:46:25na-frame,
00:46:26nasa agihapon gani,
00:46:27na-framing,
00:46:28na-layering,
00:46:30shadows,
00:46:30na-layering.
00:46:32Okay.
00:46:33Next,
00:46:34next,
00:46:35kani.
00:46:35Asan eh?
00:46:36Ah.
00:46:36Sagawas.
00:46:37This was,
00:46:38yes,
00:46:38this was in London,
00:46:40back in 2018.
00:46:42and,
00:46:43and,
00:46:45nasurtean lang po ta,
00:46:46nasurtean lang po ko nga,
00:46:48na-a-akoy opportunities to travel and go outside of the country.
00:46:55So,
00:46:56back in 2018,
00:47:00I was in,
00:47:01I was in,
00:47:03I was in,
00:47:03I was in,
00:47:03I was in,
00:47:03I was in,
00:47:03I was in that trip.
00:47:04So,
00:47:05and,
00:47:06if,
00:47:07daghang tao,
00:47:08daghan kayong opportunities to,
00:47:10to layer your photograph.
00:47:11So,
00:47:12this is one of that,
00:47:13this is,
00:47:13this is one of those instances nga,
00:47:15gina-layer,
00:47:16gina-ha-apon ako,
00:47:17ang,
00:47:17ang mga tao sa frame.
00:47:18wala d'yo ko kasuway o,
00:47:21at to salayang nasud,
00:47:23kanang,
00:47:24unsay kalahean,
00:47:26sa,
00:47:28like,
00:47:29pag street photography,
00:47:30salayang nasud,
00:47:31o sa,
00:47:32o dumagete,
00:47:33or Philippines?
00:47:36Oh,
00:47:37that is,
00:47:37that is a very,
00:47:39very good question.
00:47:40Um,
00:47:41I always tell,
00:47:42I always say this,
00:47:43in my lectures,
00:47:43or in class nga,
00:47:44swerte kayo ta,
00:47:46na naata sa Pilipinas.
00:47:48Kay,
00:47:48ang mga tao,
00:47:49open kaayaw sila nga mapicturan.
00:47:51Okay,
00:47:52ragyad kaayaw nila.
00:47:53Nga yung mga tao,
00:47:54nga mo posing pa gani,
00:47:55mga bata,
00:47:55cool,
00:47:55picturing,
00:47:56cool,
00:47:57vlogger,
00:47:58picture.
00:47:59But,
00:47:59it is a totally different scene,
00:48:02it is a totally different landscape,
00:48:05when you take pictures,
00:48:06outside of the country,
00:48:07especially Europe,
00:48:08or in America.
00:48:10Ang tao kay,
00:48:12mura sila gmatingal lang,
00:48:13ano kang namicture.
00:48:14So,
00:48:14you have to be mindful,
00:48:16sa imuhang body language,
00:48:17you have to be mindful of,
00:48:20how long you're staying in a spot,
00:48:23and you're taking pictures in that spot.
00:48:25Diba,
00:48:25kita as street photographers,
00:48:27or photojournalists,
00:48:29or documentary photographers,
00:48:31kabaloman mo,
00:48:31og fishing,
00:48:32Mag-fish na,
00:48:33mag-hulat na.
00:48:34Kung nakakasagawas,
00:48:36kay,
00:48:37ako mismo,
00:48:39dili,
00:48:39kay,
00:48:40kumudugay,
00:48:41sa Osaka scene,
00:48:42kay,
00:48:43medyo,
00:48:44muraglain,
00:48:45ang tinanawan sa mga tao,
00:48:47sa imuha,
00:48:48if muragag,
00:48:49na picture,
00:48:50o,
00:48:52anything,
00:48:53wala sila kasabot,
00:48:54bitaw,
00:48:54and our country,
00:48:56is so colorful.
00:48:58Literally colorful.
00:49:00If you look at photographs taken in the Philippines,
00:49:03and it's not just us,
00:49:05people from the United States,
00:49:07or the United Kingdom,
00:49:08or Europe,
00:49:09come to the Philippines,
00:49:10or any other colorful country,
00:49:12because they want to take pictures of the colors in our place.
00:49:16Wad to kag Europe,
00:49:17wad to kag America,
00:49:19ang imong pictures,
00:49:20kay,
00:49:20ang majority,
00:49:21yun sa color,
00:49:22kay,
00:49:22white and gray.
00:49:24Because that is how,
00:49:26their architecture is.
00:49:28Wala kayo'y color,
00:49:29wala kayo'y poster sa dalan,
00:49:31wala'y mga flyers,
00:49:32wala'y basura sa dalan.
00:49:34But,
00:49:35ako,
00:49:36ginahan yun kayo,
00:49:37nga,
00:49:37i-embrace na.
00:49:38Because that's who we are.
00:49:41That is the Philippines,
00:49:42and the Philippines is colorful.
00:49:44The Philippines is beautiful.
00:49:45And,
00:49:47it's nice to take pictures outside of the country.
00:49:49It's a great experience.
00:49:51But,
00:49:51dili na ako i-bailo ang mag-Japorms nga bata,
00:49:55o picture sa asa siguro sa London ba,
00:49:58sa Rome ba,
00:49:58or sa Amsterdam.
00:49:59Nindot man,
00:50:00pero,
00:50:00I always go back to,
00:50:02to where,
00:50:03where life really happens.
00:50:05And that happens outside the streets of every city in the Philippines,
00:50:10wherever you are.
00:50:12Nice,
00:50:13kaayo.
00:50:13At least,
00:50:14nindot sa at paminahon,
00:50:15colorful lang atong nasud,
00:50:17Hana.
00:50:19Yes,
00:50:20kaayo,
00:50:21colorful,
00:50:21kaayo.
00:50:23Karang,
00:50:24siguro,
00:50:25kung sa gawas,
00:50:25mao siguro,
00:50:26ganahan sila,
00:50:27black and white.
00:50:28Mostly,
00:50:29na kumabantihan bitaw,
00:50:30no?
00:50:30Black and white sila.
00:50:32Siguro,
00:50:33tungot sa'yo mong giingon.
00:50:34Kabantay ka sir,

00:50:39Ang mga buildings,
00:50:40kay grey lang,

00:50:49lahi-lahi ang color.
00:50:51Maudud.
00:50:52Sige,

00:51:13I really love to play with light and shadow.
00:51:16And,
00:51:16if,
00:51:17if you look at my body,
00:51:20body of work,
00:51:22most of my photographs are,
00:51:24are really a play of light and shadow.
00:51:26And,
00:51:26it's mostly underexposed.
00:51:29Because,
00:51:29ganahan kong,
00:51:31ganahan kong,
00:51:32ngayong na na ang feel,
00:51:33ang look sa akong photographs.
00:51:34And I have been consistent with that.
00:51:36And this photograph,
00:51:39this is one of my favorite photographs.

00:52:01it's just a scene outside,
00:52:03Chowking in downtown Dumaguete.
00:52:06Speaking,
00:52:07kaning mga shadows and lights,
00:52:11do you prefer shooting in the morning?
00:52:15Or,

00:53:25musilop ang,
00:53:26adlaw,
00:53:26ma-orange yud ga yung,
00:53:27ang ginatawag nila nga golden hour.
00:53:29So,
00:53:30I,
00:53:30I have been trying to,
00:53:32I have been trying to photograph,
00:53:33that specific,
00:53:35sweet spot,
00:53:37of the afternoon,
00:53:38around 4.30 to 5 o'clock,
00:53:40nga ganahan kayo sa quality,
00:53:42sa suga.
00:53:42So,
00:53:43to answer your question,
00:53:44nag-vary siya.
00:53:46As I am progressing,
00:53:47with my practice,
00:53:49there has,
00:53:49there has also been a shift,
00:53:51in terms of how I see light,
00:53:53and how I want to translate light,
00:53:55in my photographs.
00:53:57Okay.
00:53:58Nindut no?
00:53:59If ever,
00:54:01harsh,
00:54:01sige,
00:54:02words ka harsh,
00:54:03they,
00:54:04uh,
00:54:06what's the process of your editing?
00:54:08Like,
00:54:09normal,
00:54:09kuha lang ka ng,
00:54:11uh,
00:54:12brightness,
00:54:13contrast,
00:54:15kabalo ka sir,
00:54:17tungod nga,
00:54:18nga,
00:54:19nga purist,
00:54:19tong ako ang mentor,
00:54:21si Greg Morales,
00:54:22atong gishoutout kanina.
00:54:23I have carried that practice,
00:54:25into my own practice pod.
00:54:27So,
00:54:27believe it or not,
00:54:3095 to 97% of my photographs,
00:54:35mauna na siya,
00:54:36what you see,
00:54:36is what you get.
00:54:37Gamay na lang yun kaayo akong ginatwi.
00:54:39Because I want to make it right,
00:54:4295% of the time,
00:54:44in camera,
00:54:44so that during post,
00:54:46I only touch a very few,
00:54:48I only touch very few sliders.
00:54:50So,
00:54:50I put my contrast up a bit,
00:54:53shadows a little down,
00:54:55highlights,
00:54:55dipende if medyo o exposed siya,
00:54:57or ngit-ngit lang siya,
00:54:59but it's basically just contrast,
00:55:01exposure,
00:55:02highlights,
00:55:02and shadows.
00:55:03I don't touch anything else,
00:55:04other than that.
00:55:06Very, very basic lang.
00:55:08Nindut ka yun na discipline,
00:55:09jud, as in.
00:55:11Like,
00:55:11one in one click,
00:55:13kay Baonaka na,
00:55:14saktunay mong gipo.
00:55:15Baonaka, yeah.
00:55:16You know it.
00:55:16You know it.
00:55:17And I,
00:55:17I really want to,
00:55:19I really want to,
00:55:22make truthful images.
00:55:23And,
00:55:24I think,
00:55:25as,
00:55:26as photojournalists,
00:55:27we always want to convey the truth.
00:55:29And,
00:55:30that's,
00:55:31one,
00:55:31one way of,
00:55:33being truthful,
00:55:35to my practice.
00:55:36Nga,
00:55:36muragabaloko,
00:55:37nga,
00:55:38chakto lang ko,
00:55:39in camera,
00:55:40nga,
00:55:40dilike ko grabe,
00:55:41mo post-process.
00:55:42Though,
00:55:42again,
00:55:43we all have different,
00:55:46We all have different practices.
00:55:48I have nothing against,
00:55:50um,
00:55:50people post-processing,
00:55:52their images,
00:55:53and having,
00:55:53their photographs look,
00:55:55the way they look.
00:55:56Again,
00:55:56there is no right or wrong,
00:55:58in,
00:55:58in,
00:55:59in expressing ourselves,
00:56:00through this medium.
00:56:01But,
00:56:02for me,
00:56:03um,
00:56:04I am very,
00:56:051K ko,
00:56:06kanang,
00:56:07medyo old school ko,
00:56:09na,
00:56:09dili kayo na ko hilabtan,
00:56:10ng akong photographs,
00:56:11in post.
00:56:12And I think,
00:56:12yung,
00:56:13anak podcaster,
00:56:14kay,
00:56:15photojournalista,
00:56:16dapat,
00:56:16ang ato ang images,
00:56:18truthful sa,
00:56:19sa,
00:56:19sa reality.
00:56:20Wala tayo usbon,
00:56:21wala tayo,
00:56:22samot na sa advent of AI,
00:56:23that's another topic,
00:56:24we can talk about,
00:56:25for an entire day.
00:56:26Alright,
00:56:27maabot ni,
00:56:28Sir Urich,
00:56:30part,

00:56:35Kaya na,
00:56:36ah,
00:56:36so,
00:56:37in-ex na to,
00:56:37next,
00:56:39nindot kayo to ha,
00:56:40kanang,
00:56:40ang grabe na discipline,
00:56:42sa pag-take palang danog photo,
00:56:45disiplina na,
00:56:46Jude.
00:56:47Kani,
00:56:49ah,
00:56:49farm?
00:56:50Yes,
00:56:51um,
00:56:52I live,
00:56:53I live in Tanhai,
00:56:54Tanhai City is 31,
00:56:55is a city 31 kilometers,
00:56:58north of Dumaguete.
00:57:00So,
00:57:01in that area,
00:57:02in that area of Negros,
00:57:04naghankayong mga katubhan,
00:57:06naghankayong kahumayan.
00:57:07So,
00:57:08naasad ko'y series of photographs,
00:57:10and I,
00:57:11it's still an ongoing,
00:57:12body of work,
00:57:15documenting rice and sugar,
00:57:17cane farmers in my hometown,
00:57:19and the cities,
00:57:20or the towns that are near my hometown.
00:57:22So,
00:57:23this photograph was taken in 2018,
00:57:25in Baais.
00:57:28sa katubahan ni siya,
00:57:29sa Baais,
00:57:31nag,
00:57:31naiausaka farmer,
00:57:32kitaan ninyo sa tunga,
00:57:34nag,
00:57:34nag-on siya sa,
00:57:36irrigation,
00:57:37or sa itawag,
00:57:38aning tubig,
00:57:38nga,
00:57:39bubuan ang yuta,
00:57:41nga bago lang,
00:57:42gudaro.
00:57:44So,
00:57:44ganahan kay ko,
00:57:46muad,
00:57:47dili lang ko,
00:57:48dili,
00:57:48usahay,
00:57:49o ganang ma,
00:57:50dili ko ganahan,
00:57:51I don't wanna say bored,
00:57:52but,
00:57:53if masumahan ako,
00:57:54nga maglakaw-lakaw,
00:57:55sa siyudad,
00:57:56every day,
00:57:57for a,
00:57:59change of scene,
00:58:01for a change of scenery,
00:58:02I go to,
00:58:03I go back to my hometown,
00:58:05na na-document,
00:58:07these rice and sugarcane farmers,
00:58:10I'm compiling all of them po.
00:58:12Kani-kani.
00:58:13Ito,
00:58:13gusto nais ako mga paborito,
00:58:15nga pictures.
00:58:16Kibisag wide siya,
00:58:17nagamit gihapo ng,
00:58:18whole frame,
00:58:20sa elements.
00:58:22Hmm.
00:58:22Yeah.
00:58:23Next.
00:58:24Yes.
00:58:26And,
00:58:26next?
00:58:28Kani.
00:58:28Ah,
00:58:29nindut ni color.
00:58:29Nindut ni color.
00:58:33This is just in my hometown,
00:58:36sa Tanhai lang gihapon eh.
00:58:37This was in 2024.
00:58:41This was March,
00:58:42April 2024.
00:58:44So,
00:58:44usa lang ni sa wall,
00:58:46usa lang ni ka wall sa Changi.
00:58:47And this was around 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
00:58:50Again,
00:58:50I love playing with harsh light and harsh shadows.
00:58:53And I always shoot with a very,
00:58:55uh,
00:58:56narrow aperture.
00:58:57Uh,
00:58:57I always shoot at F8.
00:58:59F8 lang yung kusigus.
00:59:00Nakabantay ka sa akong shots, sir.
00:59:02Wala ko kapakutan na na.
00:59:03F8?
00:59:04So,
00:59:04F8.
00:59:05Okay.
00:59:05F8 ako.
00:59:06F8 ko all the time.
00:59:07Naman kay tattoo, sir.
00:59:09Nung ako,
00:59:09naman siin ko yung tattoo sa akong right arm.
00:59:12Pag ito,
00:59:12hindi ko,
00:59:12I always show this to my class.
00:59:15If you believe nyo,
00:59:16na,
00:59:17of course,
00:59:18na,
00:59:18na,
00:59:19ang golden ratio.
00:59:20But,
00:59:20hindi ninyo maklaro,
00:59:22na,
00:59:22din hi,
00:59:23aperture numbers ni siya.
00:59:25So,
00:59:25na yung mga numero sa aperture din eh.
00:59:28Niya,
00:59:29ang,
00:59:29ang,
00:59:30ang F8,
00:59:31ang 8 kay naka red ink siya.
00:59:34Okay.
00:59:34Again,
00:59:35all or most of my photographs are shot at F8.
00:59:38There is a saying,
00:59:39taraan ni siya nga saying from the late 1930s nga,
00:59:43ginaingon nila nga,
00:59:44F8 and be there.
00:59:46Ang pasabot,
00:59:47na,
00:59:47okay,
00:59:48if naka F8 ka,
00:59:49niya,
00:59:50if nakakita kag-scene,
00:59:51if pag-click ni mo,
00:59:53makita ni mo tanan,
00:59:54mauna na siya.
00:59:55So,
00:59:56that's,
00:59:56that's my,
00:59:57that's my thing,
00:59:59and that's what I want my photographs to look and feel like.
01:00:02Nga,
01:00:03din ko ganahan isolated ang subject sa frame by blurring the background or blurring the foreground.
01:00:08I want to include the entirety of the frame,
01:00:11of what's inside the frame.
01:00:13So,
01:00:14tanan nga elements,
01:00:15if nakaklaro ka sir,
01:00:16from the foreground,
01:00:17aning silhouette sa bata into the middle part of the frame,
01:00:21nga nakita yun ni mo ang bata,
01:00:22and then,
01:00:23in the background,
01:00:24ang yellow gate,
01:00:26sharp siya tanan kayo.
01:00:27Again,
01:00:27nakashoot ko at F8.
01:00:29Ako sad na ay,
01:00:31po ang mga patik,
01:00:32puro camera.

01:00:45and,
01:00:46pwede mo extend?
01:00:47Diba?
01:00:48Diba?
01:00:49I'll make sure na naani part 2,
01:00:52part 3,
01:00:52part 4,
01:00:53part 5 na.
01:00:54Sige sir.
01:00:55Sige sir.
01:00:56Sige.
01:00:56Tingnan lang ko,
01:00:57mag-stread you lang ka.
01:00:58Visit ka dali sa Cebu.
01:01:00Sige.
01:01:02Last ko alang,
01:01:05any advice to
01:01:09young,
01:01:10young
01:01:10students,
01:01:12students that
01:01:13wants to
01:01:14venture,
01:01:16or gusto na mo,
01:01:17gusto mo
01:01:17padayon
01:01:18to photojournalism?
01:01:22I would just like
01:01:24to repeat
01:01:24what I said
01:01:25a while ago
01:01:26about
01:01:26not chasing
01:01:28that perfect
01:01:29photograph,
01:01:29but at least
01:01:30try to shift
01:01:31that mindset
01:01:32from
01:01:32looking for
01:01:34that great
01:01:34photograph
01:01:35into just
01:01:36loving the
01:01:36process of
01:01:37photographing.
01:01:38So instead
01:01:40nga mag-chase
01:01:40ta,
01:01:41instead nga
01:01:41mag-sigitag
01:01:42overthink
01:01:43na hala wala
01:01:44ko yung picture
01:01:44karun,
01:01:45or hala
01:01:45on sa akong
01:01:45picture karun,
01:01:47try to shift
01:01:47that and say,
01:01:48okay,
01:01:49mugawas ko karun,
01:01:51mamicture ko,
01:01:52i-enjoy na ako
01:01:52ang process
01:01:53nga mamicture ko.
01:01:55And with
01:01:55that shift
01:01:57comes
01:01:59a lot of
01:02:00surprises.
01:02:01And if you
01:02:02try to
01:02:03embody and
01:02:03practice that,
01:02:04makita yun ninyo
01:02:05nga,
01:02:06o kira man
01:02:07di ay?
01:02:07o kira nga,
01:02:08di li ikaw
01:02:09ma-pressure sa
01:02:09imong self.
01:02:10And also,
01:02:12you have
01:02:13to be
01:02:14consistent
01:02:15with your
01:02:15practice.
01:02:17You can't
01:02:18just expect
01:02:19yourself to
01:02:20have or
01:02:21get a great
01:02:22photograph if
01:02:23you don't put
01:02:23yourself out
01:02:24there.
01:02:25Repetition
01:02:26is the key
01:02:27to mastery.
01:02:29And to
01:02:29master your
01:02:30craft,
01:02:30you have to
01:02:31do it
01:02:31repeatedly.
01:02:32You have
01:02:33to make
01:02:33tons of
01:02:34mistakes and
01:02:35you have to
01:02:36take and
01:02:36make tons
01:02:37of
01:02:37photographs.
01:02:38And don't
01:02:39be scared
01:02:39to make
01:02:39mistakes.
01:02:40It's part
01:02:41of the
01:02:41process.
01:02:42Okay,
01:02:43ragyud,
01:02:43blurry
01:02:44yung picture,
01:02:45pwede
01:02:45na
01:02:45balikan,
01:02:46pwede
01:02:47na ganit
01:02:47yung
01:02:47i-share,
01:02:48walay,
01:02:49walay
01:02:49problema.
01:02:50Usahay,
01:02:51the greatest
01:02:52enemy
01:02:52sa atong,
01:02:55ang greatest
01:02:56enemy na to
01:02:57kaya ato
01:02:57arpong
01:02:58kaugaling
01:02:58mo.
01:02:59So,
01:02:59try to be
01:03:00friends with
01:03:01yourself.
01:03:01Try to be
01:03:02more gentle
01:03:02with yourself.
01:03:03and try
01:03:04again
01:03:05to be
01:03:06in love
01:03:07with the
01:03:07process
01:03:08of
01:03:08photographing
01:03:09rather than
01:03:09chasing
01:03:10that
01:03:11great
01:03:11photograph
01:03:12that
01:03:12you're
01:03:13overthinking
01:03:14about.
01:03:14True.
01:03:16Salamat,
01:03:16Jude.
01:03:17Ka-nang
01:03:18daghan,
01:03:19kayong
01:03:19may nakatunan.
01:03:20Nalakoy,
01:03:21add,
01:03:22nagisulti
01:03:23sa akong
01:03:23chief sa
01:03:24una,
01:03:24Sir Albert.
01:03:26If
01:03:26dili
01:03:26paraimu
01:03:27ang photo,
01:03:28dili,
01:03:29Jude,
01:03:29na paraimu.
01:03:30Move on.
01:03:31Move on.
01:03:32Move on.
01:03:32Move on.
01:03:33And daghan
01:03:34pakaayaw
