05:24to the same people about the same players you're like you know what let's put that on the shelf and
05:29revisit it on sunday or monday or or friday or whatever just not today because i'm dealing with this
05:36other stuff yeah and even skinner going to uh winnipeg they needed another goalie all they had
05:44was hellebuck so even drager came out and said that really doesn't mean anything in the hellebuck
05:49market it just means they needed another goalie the question is will he be their number one goalie
05:54their backup goalie right you know it depends you know what happens but it really didn't have anything
05:59to do it it did not mean that there was anything imminent coming with well in fact paul i would

06:05that that my read on that was they probably don't have any need for ukul pekka lukinin in a hellebuck

06:51he now has a five team no trade so i don't know how cumbersome that has to be but you

06:57scenario out there where you get something worked out with a team to move him because you're going
07:02to make some other big deal and he says no josh norris's 10 team no trade went live at noon

07:09as well and that's just two examples so like that that gets a little harder you know it's not you
07:15can't just do whatever you want with either of those guys anymore they have to approve depending on
07:19where where they're going no absolutely yeah so that that's in play now and uh i i've never gotten
07:27any indication that they're looking to move norris or uh you know it's uh it in lukinin well if he

07:36one of those teams happens to be the winnipeg jets i guess it could be a problem uh but it

07:41necessarily have to be as i said it's just a few teams that we're talking about paul where are you

08:05hurt and then he was still and then he got healthy again but i didn't much care for him i

08:09he was playing all that well especially in the offensive end defensive end he's always pretty solid but
08:14you know in the offensive end i didn't think he was doing all that well so uh yeah it's um

08:21been a kind of an up and down type of a thing i i still think he's a good hockey

08:25it would help him in his confidence if somehow or another he ever could find his way to an 82

08:31season and um that's what tuck finally did tuck was getting hurt for a while in it during his career
08:38than last couple of years he's been able to play most of the games and he's really improved his
08:44play as he went along and i think that could go a long way for norris where he doesn't get
08:49interrupted
08:49with injuries during his season where he could just go be himself yeah that is without any hesitation
08:56the only reason that i would need to move the player because when he's healthy i have no problem
09:03with his cap number um i think he's a fantastic 200 foot player that every bit could be a number
09:10one center for this team but banking on that with his injury history for a cup contending team
09:17which is what we're supposed to be talking about here right is that's very scary to me like i just
09:22i'm really and i know you can't you know you'd lose your mind worrying about anyone getting hurt but
09:27this is a guy that's been hurt every year of his nhl career um so i just i'm i would
09:33consider it a
09:34blessing if they could find their way to replacing him but holy cow good luck i think it's just very
09:40hard with his background his injury history to get someone to take him as anything more than just uh
09:47well i gotta take some salary type of thing i mean that that's too harsh but i think he's hard

09:52trade because of the contract and his injury history especially since it's now happened with
09:57two teams right where he keeps getting injured he kept getting injured in ottawa now he in the short
10:03time is in buffalo he's kept getting injured so you know it's like well the scenario hasn't changed

10:15really important for him to put together an eight game season because i think then you then everybody
10:19would get to see what the sabers were banking on when they traded for him paul what is the scene

12:31contracts so gilbert's on a one-way deal he's to me very much depth that should if he clears waivers
12:37end up in rochester um and uh but sherry maybe is an nhl that's an nhl player i think probably

12:46i think he i think he did spend some time in the minors uh recently i have to look it
12:51up while we're
12:51talking here but um yeah it's uh again i think you're we because i've been wondering why how come
12:58i haven't seen amark signings because that's part of what we always see on july 1st they have to get
13:04guys they can put down there with their youngsters and uh so you know i've kind of thought well where
13:12have those been usually by now we start seeing those uh yeah he spent 59 games with the syracuse
13:17crunch in 2024 25 and then last year with the rangers he spent the whole season up with the
13:24rangers uh but the year before he only got five games with the lightning and 59 with the crunch
13:30um got seven goals and 18 assists i i i don't know i'm just i wasn't impressed the first time

13:38here i'm kind of sitting here going why why played 133 games for the sabers back in uh 1920 in

13:48memorable seasons so 1920 yeah 18 19 and 1920 yeah not the year 1920 yeah i thought you said i

14:40just you were saying paul i mean just um how that all went with levi were the sabers at fault

14:47his path yes uh they messed it up from the start and i think as you look at it it

14:56i you know they no goaltender ever went straight from college hockey to the nhl but kevin adams
15:02thought his goaltender was going to and i think levi held him over a barrel and made it play him
15:08right away and those seven games were the best games he played in the nhl you know at the end

15:12the season when he came from northeastern and then he was handed the job the next year wasn't even
15:17remotely up for it and then finally got sent down to rochester where he belonged and then lucan and
15:23if you remember had a very good season and was the number one goal i remember lindy rough showed up
15:28and said uh we asked well who's your one of our goal he goes i think the initials are upl
15:33yeah and
15:34again adams thought well even though lucan earned it we're gonna have levi alternate games with him
15:41well that was even a bigger disaster and that was the end of devon levi in buffalo uh in the
15:46nhl
15:47and then of course when they claimed ellis off waivers that's all levi needed to see and it was he
15:53knew he was no longer a presence in the sabers organization let's move on i think he'll get a
15:59look at the starting job in edmonton paul they're they're constantly searching so i i you know i i'm
16:05not saying they won't bring in someone with a bigger contract and more of a reputation but i i'll
16:11bet that there are fans out there and even people in the organization hoping that this is the
16:16opportunity this kid's been waiting for because they've been searching for years and i can tell you
16:21i've had numerous scouts tell me that he will never be an nhl goaltender that they just do not
16:25like the way he plays goal um it's it's too like high wire type goaltending now that doesn't mean
16:32that's true that's definitely going to happen he could definitely show up in edmonton get an
16:37opportunity and seize it and become an nhl goalie so just because that's what i've been told doesn't
16:43mean that's what's going to happen it's up to him oh if he gets the opportunity he has to seize
