00:00Fast forward to my first year of high school, we had to write an assignment where if someone was
00:07going through a traumatic event, what would you tell that person? So I started writing just a
00:12little portion of all of the stuff that occurred through those years on that paper. I crumpled it
00:18up, put it in his trash can. I was called down to the principal's office. He told the police
00:24because she has like the real big red flags of a child being. They believed me and got a like
00:32a
00:32restraining order against him for me and all that. But he ended up like violating that he would come
00:38to like my house and try to stalk and harass me and ended up where the justice system didn't believe
00:45us. Even though I had some evidence on my own body, they dropped that case. He's still children.
00:52The first time I told just my immediate family, I told them on this trip, I'm like, I'm pregnant.
00:57They kind of laughed nervously. Like the tone was like, why are you saying this? This is so not like
01:03you, Heather. And that was really supportive. Same with my dad and that, and same with my sister.
01:09Also in therapy, I've been over 10 years and it's helped so, so much. And just advocating for myself,
01:14for other victims and survivors and that, and having my like family support on that has been
01:20the world to me. Now I share on like TikTok and sometimes on Instagram, but mostly on TikTok,
01:27what happened to me.
