00:06after a council report said the work that needs to be carried out would effectively require a
00:12whole new bridge and would cost around £300 million. The crossing has been closed to vehicles
00:19since cracks were discovered in 2019, although pedestrians and cyclists can still use it.
00:25The council is instead seeking funding for phased repairs to keep the bridge open.
00:31Transport for London says it continues working with the council and the Department for Transport
00:36on future funding ideas, while ministers say a bid to the Structures Fund will be considered in the autumn.
