00:00If you count the number of freedom fighters who took the Gita as their inspiration,
00:06you would run short of count.
00:08There are just so many.
00:09Think of Aurobindo.
00:10Think of Tilak.
00:11Even if you talk of Bhagat Singh, he was an avid reader.
00:14And was he not placing the Gita in high esteem?
00:17Even as he declared himself an atheist,
00:19what he meant to denounce was the gods that the commons worshipped.
00:23He had an unflinching faith in the truth.
00:27And Gita is not about god worship.
00:29Gita is about submitting yourself to the truth.
00:32Fighting for the truth alone.
00:35Even if it means fighting against everybody you have been related to in your life.
00:40If you read their works, if you get into their minds,
00:42you will find that they had defined freedom in very holistic, very deep, very comprehensive ways.
00:49Freedom was not just about replacing the Union Jacks with the tricolor.
00:53That was independence.
00:54That was political independence.
00:55Freedom meant much more.
00:57And the project of gaining freedom was to continue even after 1947.
01:04If you would ask Bhagat Singh, he would say that the revolution must be on even in 2023.
01:11It's not supposed to come to a standstill or a conclusion at 1947 or 1950.
01:18No.
01:18Would say
