00:15Best friends, like we had a chemistry read,
00:17we instantly became best friends, it was super natural.
00:20I mean, you know, I've said this a thousand times,
00:22but it was really like, if I book this or not,
00:25we're gonna be friends, I'll see you on the golf course.
00:27Same, I mean, immediately felt like a brotherhood
00:29with Michael from the second we started talking.
00:31It was just so easy to just kind of banter
00:34about sports and football and living
00:37where we live in Los Angeles and with Joe,
00:40actually the first time we met Joe was he got into town
00:42and we were like, you wanna come golfing with us?
00:45So yeah, we wanted to text him immediately
00:47because we had already made this connection.
00:49So we knew that it was gonna be,
00:51maybe he was a little nervous to come into something
00:53that already kind of unfolded.
00:55And so we just wanted to make sure that he knew
00:57that we wanted him to be here
00:58and that we wanted to be friends.
01:00So we were immediately judging his golf game.
01:02I lost 30 golf balls.
01:04My first impression of Mikey,
01:06he's very jacked, he's very muscular.
01:09He's a-
01:09It's all fake.
01:11But he's got great music taste.
01:13He's actually put me on into a few songs.
01:15Matt, I actually recognized from his previous work,
01:18High School Musical The Musical Series.
01:20When he picked me up in his Jeep,
01:21I thought he'd sing, but...
01:24I've been doing it.

01:28There was one thing that happened before Joe got cast,
01:31and it was at my place in MacCoover.
01:33We all got together and just played games,
01:36had some wine and talked and just like chilled
01:39and got to know each other a little bit.

01:41And then when Joe was cast, we had a big cast roast at Sadie's house.
01:46All of us got together and went to Sadie's and had a roast.
01:49Not roast as in the Kevin Hart roast.
01:51No, no, no, no, no.
01:51We were all roasting.
01:52We're eating food.
01:53Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:54We're all eating.
01:55Yeah, Sadie cooked a bunch of food.
01:57It was all lovely.
01:57And she made some UK treats and it was just awesome.
02:02And we played Spice Uno.
02:03And we played Spice Uno.
02:04And I made cookies.

02:07Chocolate chip cookies.
02:07For everyone listening out there, he loves a chocolate chip.

02:24We had a lot of golf stuff.
02:25We golfed a lot on like just going outside of set and golfing on the golf course.
02:30And then I brought my Nintendo Switch to set and we would play Switch golf in the green room.
02:35And then Michael bought this like Velcro chipping mat.
02:39So even on set, we could have have an actual like golf chipping mat.
02:42Bought our 56th degree and just a little sand wedge and it was great.
02:46Matt took me to Golf Town to get my first ever golf set.
02:49Yeah.
02:50So golf's a big part of our community there at Berries Bay.

03:15I love trying to get people together and everyone together to hang out and do things.

03:32There's a lot of gifts.
03:33Joe sends some of the craziest, funniest gifts.
03:36Like, I don't know where these things come.
03:38They come out of the ether.
03:39Because this man, like, they make no sense, but yet they make perfect sense.
03:44And it's hysterical and Joe's really funny.
03:49Do you want to tell the story?

03:51So Joe and I went to lunch one day.
03:53I think we hadn't even started filming yet.
03:55We were just in Vancouver.
03:56It was after the deadline announcement just right.
03:58Yeah, they had just announced the casting for the show.
04:01And Joe and I went to dinner or lunch and we were walking down the street.
04:05And a few girls came up to us and they were just like,
04:08Oh my gosh, you guys are the cast of every year after.
04:10And we were like, yes, how yet?
04:13Like we haven't even filmed anything.
04:15Nothing's come out yet other than the cast announcement.
04:17And that for me, a was the first fan encounter for the show,
04:21but also was the first time that I really realized how much these books meant to people
04:26to the fact that they knew the casting based on one singular post on it.
04:31And we're like following it enough to like notice somebody out in public.
