In this 3-D animated feature "Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs," a scientist has spent his entire life creating inventions that did not work, or were not wanted. Finally, while trying to solve world hunger, he develops a method to direcrly convert water into food, and releases the effects on the world -- only to see things go awry as food falls from the sky in abundance.
