00:00Every year we have films about the Second World War, but there's a huge part of
00:04the story that has been forgotten.
00:05I make videos about TV series and movies, and we're going to talk about community representation.
00:10LGBTQIA+, in this universe.

00:13When we talk about the victims of the Nazi regime, we often mention political opponents, Jews or resistance fighters.
00:19But many are unaware that another category of people has also been persecuted, and that is homosexual men.
00:26That is precisely the subject of this film called Bent.
00:29The film follows Max, who is a homosexual man living in Berlin in the 1930s.
00:34When the Nazi regime intensified its repression, her life took a dramatic turn.
00:38He is arrested, then sent to a concentration camp.
00:41Bent is particularly noteworthy because it shows a story that has long been absent from the screen.
00:47A story that is rarely talked about.
00:49And many viewers are discovering for the first time what the Nazi regime was doing to the LGBTQIA+ community.
00:56This film was not a huge commercial success, but it is a very important cinematic work for the
01:02representation of the LGBTQIA+ community,
01:05and especially in the history of the Second World War and the crimes that the LGBTQIA+ community was able to
01:11to suffer.
