00:07:47The unpredictable badass, Braun Brinker. And if you did a tail on the tape on this matchup, Wade, I believe
00:07:55on Seth Rollins' side, you'd have experience. And that would be it. Braun Brinker on the other side. Strength, power,
00:08:03speed, stamina. Brinker hopes to slay Rollins tonight.
00:08:07Yeah, Braun Brinker is potentially anybody in the locker room's worst nightmare. And Seth Rollins needs to be very careful
00:08:16not to be dragged into a war of attrition against this young, explosive, powerful superstar.
00:08:22Seth Rollins needs to use his brain here, turn this into a chess game, and try and outsmart Braun Brinker.
00:08:28I think there's two key points to this matchup. First, Seth Rollins needs to end this early. I think the
00:08:33longer the matchup goes, it favors Brinker.
00:08:35Number two. Seth Rollins has to be careful of that. He attempted spear by Brinker. He's hit that spear on
00:08:41Rollins a half dozen times the past few weeks.
00:08:43And now a suicide dive by Rollins. And a lot of pent-up frustration with Rollins as it comes to
00:08:49Brinker.
00:08:50Yeah, and this is exactly what we're talking about. Braun Brinker taking out Seth Rollins over six months ago, costing
00:08:56him numerous time in his career,
00:08:58costing him the World Heavyweight Championship with a vicious attack. And that is now exploding in the face of Braun
00:09:05Brinker.
00:09:05Brinker now, in a suicide dive, driving Brinker into the announce table.
00:09:13Rollins like a ball of fire to start this matchup tonight against Brinker.
00:09:18That's exactly how Seth needed to start. Get the upper hand early and try and finish the job, as you
00:09:23mentioned, Cole.
00:09:24You know, Seth Rollins told me on the Countdown Show at a very special interview that he's nearing 40 years
00:09:31old.
00:09:31He doesn't know how much time he has left at the top. He understands there's going to be many, like
00:09:36Braun Brinker, trying to take him down a notch.
00:09:38So this is such an important match for Rollins tonight.
00:09:41Yeah, forget just 40 years old. That's 40 years. And he spent much of that, a significant chunk of it,
00:09:48at the very top, competing in WWE.
00:09:51Rollins out. Takes down Brinker. And you have to admire the official for letting things go in the early part
00:09:55of this matchup,
00:09:56because there's been so much bad blood between these two. Remember, it was Rollins, the night after WrestleMania last year,
00:10:02who formed the vision.
00:10:03He brought Braun Brinker in. He brought Bronson Reed in. And then in October of last year, Brinker turns on
00:10:09Rollins and excommunicates Rollins from the group that he formed.
00:10:13And Brinker picking Rollins out of the air. Oh, God, here we go. And now, oh, shoot cracks right out
00:10:19to the floor.
00:10:20Well, that's that young power of Brinker coming to the fore early on. Did not want to fall in line
00:10:27behind Seth Rollins.
00:10:29Saw Seth Rollins as somebody who was simply using Braun Brinker to keep himself at the top of the card,
00:10:35effectively using Brinker as a bodyguard to maintain his reign as the world heavyweight champion.
00:10:40And that simply did not work for Braun Brinker. And how much things can change in a year?
00:10:45Last year, right here in Tampa, Florida, Brinker and Rollins were actually a tag team as they took on CM
00:10:53Punk and Sami Zayn in a matchup.
00:10:55Now they are bitter enemies for Rollins. Just his second match in the past seven months.
00:11:01The last one was at WrestleMania, a classic against Gunther before Braun Brinker would interfere and break things up.
00:11:08And Brinker now with a takedown of Rollins. And now Brinker on offense.
00:11:13Just fierce levels of aggression from Brinker. I'm glad you've raised the fact that this is Rollins' second match in
00:11:19seven months.
00:11:20There is an element of ring rust and ring cardio that simply might not be there for someone like Seth
00:11:27Rollins.
00:11:27Doesn't matter how much you train, you never get to gain speed without being battle-hardened.
00:11:32And let's not forget, Wade, that Seth Rollins, Rollins, I should say Braun Brinker, Brinker missed some significant time too
00:11:39with an injury.
00:11:40But you'll know full well as an athlete, the younger you are, the quicker you bounce back from injuries.
00:11:45That is simple truth, especially with the amount of miles already on the body of Seth Rollins.
00:11:51And here's the cover and a kick out by Seth at one.
00:11:54Braun Brinker likes to talk trash. He thinks very highly of himself.
00:11:58Interesting video of him in the gym this past week. Bench-pressing 400 pounds in slash-talking Seth Rollins as
00:12:06he did it.
00:12:07Yeah, 4.05, four reps with ease on the bench-press. That is just ludicrous.
00:12:12Oh, that's a man, 2-plus. And how quick, how quick was Braun there?
00:12:15Yeah, and here's part of the thing, the early onslaught that came from Seth Rollins has just bounced off the
00:12:21mentality of Braun Brinker.
00:12:23Didn't start to doubt himself, didn't start to wonder, can I really make it at this level against Seth?
00:12:29Just absorbed that damage and is now bouncing back and replying 10-fold.
00:12:35Tonight we knew that this man, Braun Brinker, was going to be a star, a future main eventer.
00:12:41Back in June of 2020, six years ago, Seth Rollins would go down to NXT, defend the world championship and
00:12:51retain it against Braun Brinker.
00:12:53He went to Shawn Michaels and said, listen, give me the best that NXT has.
00:12:57Shawn Michaels, the Hall of Famer, the Heartbreak Kid, said it's Braun Brinker.
00:13:00Yeah, no doubt about it. And let's talk about Paul Heyman on the outside.
00:13:04He's just squeezing on the throat of Seth Rollins causing some major damage.
00:13:09Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar has retired. He needs a new person to hook his teeth into a guaranteed future WrestleMania
00:13:16main eventer.
00:13:17You can barely pick better than Braun Brinker.
00:13:21Rollins now delivers a chop to Braun.
00:13:24You know, Braun Brinker understands that he made this bid and he has to lie in it.
00:13:28He has no friends, nobody to help him out.
00:13:31And he talked a lot about the parallels with Brinker.
00:13:34Brinker did to Rollins, much like Rollins did to The Shield a decade earlier.
00:13:39And here's the cover by Brinker. And Rollins just did two kicks out.
00:13:43Yeah, and I like that comparison with what Seth did to The Shield.
00:13:46Let's face it, in the history of this industry, power is never gifted to anybody.
00:13:51It has to be taken in a hostile fashion.
00:13:54And they don't come much more hostile than Braun Brinker and his treatment of Seth breaking Rollins.
00:13:59Tonight that Rollins turned over Shield.
00:14:01Just give me a chance! That's it! But you didn't!
00:14:05Change the entire trajectory of the industry.
00:14:08Everything for yourself.
00:14:11You self-centered piece of trash.
00:14:15In many ways, Brinker's attack on Rollins last year did the same thing.
00:14:19It did the same thing, but it can also be said that perhaps Brinker preempted an attack from Rollins.
00:14:24Leopards don't change their spots.
00:14:27Rollins has form of doing that.
00:14:29Brinker just got to Rollins before, as Brinker sees it, Rollins inevitably attacked him.
00:14:35When I asked Rollins about his strategy tonight, he said,
00:14:37Listen, when my back is against the wall, I am my best version of myself.
00:14:43He said the problem with Brinker is he took his shot a couple of times,
00:14:48delivering spears, and he wasn't able to kill Rollins.
00:14:51And Seth says that's going to come back and bite Braun.
00:14:54The tables seem to be turning in this match.
00:14:58Momentum slowly drifting towards Seth Rollins.
00:15:02And Braun could be paying the price right before our eyes.
00:15:05Rollins has said on a number of occasions, Braun is a future star, but he's just not ready.
00:15:11Yeah, I don't agree with that at all.
00:15:14Ron Brinker was born ready.
00:15:16Oh my God.
00:15:17And now a big take down with a clothesline to Rollins.
00:15:19Brinker collapses into the cover.
00:15:21Hooked to the leg.
00:15:22Rollins has got to kick it to another near fall.
00:15:24But again, there's the quickness, the 23 mile per hour speed of Brinker.
00:15:28Take a look at this human blur.
00:15:30This is one huge human being, 250 pounds, and it's right across the larynx of Seth freaking Rollins.
00:15:38And I take umbrage with Seth Rollins saying, Braun Brinker is not yet ready.
00:15:43If you listen to guys at the top of the card, the young guys will never be ready.
00:15:47How many times have we seen top stars slow the momentum of guys they are threatened by?
00:15:53And that could be the case with Rollins and Brinker.
00:15:55Another release German by Braun who is putting Rollins to the ringer.
00:16:00Remember, Rollins had the shoulder injury.
00:16:03He's had a history of knee injuries.
00:16:05Of course, he's got to be banged up internally after all the spears of the past few weeks.

00:16:14And Rollins again kicks out a near fall.
00:16:17Well, it's been clear from the word go that there is a lunatic streak inside of Braun Brinker.

00:16:23You call them a head case on occasion.
00:16:25I would say the biggest asset he has is Paul Heyman on the outside guiding that lunatic streak,
00:16:33targeting it exclusively on Seth Rollins.
00:16:35He's a price short of the Happy Meal is what he is.
00:16:37But nonetheless, to your point on Heyman, Rollins is Warren Brinker.
00:16:40Don't trust the man.
00:16:42Rollins knows that firsthand.
00:16:45Paul Heyman going to hook his wagon to the next star as he's done his entire career.
00:16:50There's been a history of it, but the reward of having Heyman on your side,
00:16:54albeit for a temporary amount of time, are just too great to turn down for many superstars.
00:17:00And Seth was in that same position not so long ago.
00:17:03And Rollins now, he's actually biting Brinker, creating anything he can to create some space.
00:17:10The fight tooth and nail against this guy!

00:17:17Rollins still in it, and that's the reason the man is a six-time world champion.
00:17:23Yeah, did not execute that Frankensteiner quite as crisply as he wanted, and that could have been the difference of
00:17:29how Seth was able to kick out there.
00:17:31Enough damage caused, however, to keep the architect down for now.
00:17:35When you talk about Heyman, there you see the Oracle.
00:17:38Words of wisdom being directed the way of Braun Brinker.
00:17:41And that is the cheat code for Braun Brinker, who currently lacks the experience at the top 10 level of
00:17:48a Seth Rollins.
00:17:49That's why he has to lean on the smarts of Paul Heyman.

00:17:57Braun Brinker has been dominating much of this match, but has not been able to put the veteran Rollins away.

00:18:13And Braun's got that look in his eye, and this rarely ends well for his opponents.
00:18:18Seth better turn around because Braun Brinker, great neck speed, and Rollins catches him with a super kick.
00:18:26I believe Brinker was going for the spear, and Rollins met him there.
00:18:30What an absolute bullseye from Seth freaking Rollins, and a moving target.

00:19:12I mentioned earlier, the longer this match goes,
00:19:16Braun Brinker could start to take control.

00:19:27Rollins just has that durability, that heart and drive that has served him so well through his career.
00:19:38Rollins has to jump underneath that.

00:20:39But Brom, on the other hand, maybe has not been this deep so far in his career.

00:21:48It's not helped anything by the fact that Braun Brinker has been beating the living daylights out of
00:21:52Seth Rollins from the word goes.
