00:01Floyd Mayweather Jr., the living legend of professional boxing alongside Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao and Sugar Ray Leonard,
00:08is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxingers of all time.
00:11Some even argue that the style of boxing he displayed during his years of dominance in the ring has never
00:15been equaled in the sports history.
00:18A head of his bout against Greek champion Mike Zambidis, Mayweather spoke to Euronews about the legacy he has built
00:23throughout his career.
00:24You know, I gave the sport a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to this point.
00:31So, you know, I'm very, very thankful for the support from people from all around the world, people from all
00:38walks of life.
00:39And, you know, I like going out having fun. Boxing has been good to me. The fans have been good
00:44to me.
00:46And I love, you know, I love going out displaying my skills and putting on a show for the people.
00:50You know, I'm in great shape. I work out every day. And I really never took any abuse in the
00:54sport of boxing.
00:55So, just by being smart, being intelligent, being a very defensive fighter and being a calculated fighter, I'm able to
01:05still compete at this age.
01:07Now 49 years old, Mayweather continues to step into the ring, drawing huge crowds and filling stadiums wherever he fights.
01:13Although he has rarely crossed the Atlantic to compete in Europe, he has not forgotten his previous appearances on the
01:19continent.
01:19I've competed all around the world. I've competed in Germany. I boxed in Germany. I fought in Russia, even though
01:28Russia is Asia.
01:29I fought in London. Remember, I've done an exhibition in London. But I also had, you know, I have fights
01:35all around the world.
01:36So just, but I never had a fight in Greece. So this will be my first time having a fight
01:42in Greece.
01:43It was always great, you know, to come to Greece. It's always a beautiful place.
01:50Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. Every time I come to Greece, I always make those three stops, you know, a beautiful
01:58country. And I'm happy that I'm back.
02:00The boxing legend also had a message for aspiring young fighters.
02:05To all the young people that I inspire, and if I don't inspire, this should inspire you.
02:12Believe in yourself, believe in your skills, believe in your talent, and most of all, give it 100% when
02:18you go out there and perform.
02:22From Hollywood Studios to major streaming platforms, an increasing number of international productions are choosing Greece as their filming destination.
02:30With its stunning islands, iconic historical landmarks, diverse urban landscapes and attractive financial incentives, the country has emerged as one
02:39of Europe's most appealing locations for film and television production.
02:42Between 2019 and 2024 alone, 90 international productions were filmed in Greece, with locations ranging from Athens to Thessaloniki, Crete,
02:50Corfu and the Ciclades Islands.
02:52Greece is a physical studio, with a large population and in many different locations.
02:57You have a private environment, you have a change, you have a change, you have a change, you have a
03:02change, you have a change, you have a change, you have a change, you have a change.
03:07In recent years, the audiovisual industry has become one of the fastest growing sectors of the Greek economy.
03:12According to a recent study by the Foundation of Economic and Interest Research, the sector now contributes 1,9 billion
03:18euros annually to Greece's GDP,
03:19supports approximately 44,000 jobs and generates more than 580 million in public revenue.
03:26The development of the sector is linked to the increase of the economic development, with the increase in the development
03:32of the AEP, economic development,
03:34and it is for a sector that supports many services.
03:36The economic development of the sector is 44,000 in the sector.
03:42The benefits, however, extend far beyond the film set.
03:45The study highlights that the international productions also act as a powerful promotional tool for the country, driving the growth
03:51of screen tourism,
03:52the increasingly popular trend of travelers visiting destinations they have discovered through films and television series.
03:58Supported by a new 5-year action plan and 750 million euros in available funding, Greece aims to further strengthen
04:04its position on the global audiovisual industry map.
04:11Europe is breaking heat records. These extreme events pose a threat to people's health both at home and at work.
04:18The European Trade Union Institute, a research center affiliated with trade unions, presented a report on Thursday laying out solutions
04:27aimed at safeguarding workers' health in the face of climate change.
04:31One of the report's authors emphasizes that the danger is not limited to the south of the continent.
04:38The problem is the worst in the south, of course, that's where we see most of the accidents.
04:42At the same time, though, we have been recording the highest increases of accidents in center and north of Europe.
04:48So, south is already hot and it's a problem, but the center and the north are catching up very fast.
04:54According to the report, around 130 million workers across Europe become exposed to workplace heat stress, resulting in 277,000
05:05related injuries and 230 deaths.
05:09Climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of these heat waves, which also lead to reduced work capacity.
05:15The optimum temperature to work is at 16 degrees Celsius. Beyond that, for every one degree Celsius, we have an
05:22average productivity loss of about 2% during work.
05:26Based on scientific evidence, the report's authors suggest that the European Union could introduce legislation specifically aimed at preventing heat
05:36waves in the workplace.
05:37And what we propose is a mandatory heat risk assessment in order to oblige the employer to assess and to
05:45identify the risks that are related to heat exposure in their workplace reality.
05:51Only knowing what we are talking about, we can be able to protect workers and prevent the risks associated to
06:00heat exposure.
06:00The researchers emphasized that heat waves are a measurable, predictable and therefore preventable phenomenon.
06:13You'll refer to your destination.
06:41It's true that with Bébé, it's a different logistics, so I don't think I'd sleep at La Belle Étoile,
06:48but it's true that if I had no alternative to the thermal comfort between us, it wouldn't help us.
06:59And since the Parc des Butchemont is already a real hotel this evening, I feel a bit more in security.
07:33From discussion on music and culture to mental health and the use of social media,
07:38award-winning French and Congolist rapper Yusufa joined content creators and media professionals in Brussels for a conversation about the
07:47issues shaping a new generation for African youth.
07:50The gathering formed part of the Kuman X Brussels initiative built around the popular Ivorian podcast Les Sans Parler les
07:58gens,
07:58which uses humour and culture to spark conversations and issues affecting young Africans and their engagement online.
08:07Yusufa acknowledged part of the challenges confronting the African youth in the digital age, including cyberbullying and harassment.
08:14He however urged the youth to focus on the positives.
08:18We have to build on the positive.
08:20We have only to put it in the hard, but the hard will be there.
08:24I told you about it earlier, the hard will be there.
08:27It will always be there, whether it be the place, whether it be the time, whether it be the generation.
08:32And in fact, if we're happy with the hard, we're not going to advance.
08:35We're going to advance on the people who encourage us, the resources, the talents, the forces.
08:42And that's what will lead us to the top.
08:44The rest, everything that doesn't make us progress is useless.
08:49The day began with workshops bringing together researchers and institutional actors
08:53to discuss how digital platforms can better connect with younger audiences,
08:58encourage civic participation, and how it can be used for social change.
09:03Participants also took part in a listening club discussing episodes of the podcast
09:08which tackle issues ranging from online hate speech, malicious AI-generated material,
09:13and cyberbullying to mental health, gender-based violence, and geopolitical discourse.
09:19Discussing the issues is one thing, and preferring solutions is yet another,
09:23as one of the participants shared.
09:25I think that today we are in a world where our generations try to put in place
09:30solutions, resolutions, and things that make sure that
09:33we want to heal a society that has suffered anciennement,
09:37and at the same time, we want to say that
09:38it is possible to be able to stay together, to be able to live together.
09:42And I think that's what's beautiful, that's what's important.
09:44Because the youth of today, it really tries to change things,
09:47and I think that we need to focus on that youth
09:49and make it more confident.
09:51Some of the themes here tonight have explored new ways of engaging the African youth
09:55through humor, culture, and digital storytelling.
09:59For organizers, this would help young Africans to better express themselves
10:03in a way that can facilitate social cohesion,
10:06combat hate speech, cyberbullying, among other things.
10:10Jerry Fisayo Bambi, for Euronews.
10:30They have created their own gnazes on the ground of the stall and the houses.
10:35A second reason, unlike in Europe, they have lived in the grasslands,
10:42mainly in the rocks, on the walls, on the walls and on the walls.
10:45They are in contact with the human life.
10:50They are in touch with the human life.
10:54They are in touch with the human life.
11:07The garden was very high.
11:08And then, the garden started talking about the garden.
11:10The garden was so high.
11:12How can I have the idea of a garden to hide the garden
11:19when they come here constantly.
11:21That is the usual.
11:23I love the nature.
