00:05Kahu won their first team face-off!
00:09Kahu's first face-off high...
00:11We have an advantage here that we'd love to play.
00:14...was short-lived.
00:16Kia tu patou e hoa.
00:18Where I'm at right now, I want to make them pay.
00:21Play this card to demand an instant rematch.
00:25And an olive branch...
00:27...some Kaimoana for your table...
00:29...and a peace offering from all of Takapu.
00:31I'm not buying it at all.
00:33I feel like I can see straight through it.
00:35Only fueled Vinny's fire.
00:38Just like that.
00:39Polly, going home.
00:41We've now got a win.
00:43And we've got the advantage.
00:46Time advantage.
00:48Okay.
00:50I feel like we're gonna need that.
00:59It's good.
01:15We're gonna need that time.
01:15And we're gonna need that time.
01:161-3.
01:17We're gonna need the speed up.
01:181-3.
01:24It's the speed of volume to break.
01:242-3.
01:252-3.
01:262-3.
01:262-3.
02:06I had a little moment to myself this morning, just to kind of sit in my thoughts, stealing
02:12people's cry.
02:14That was heavy on my heart today.
02:17Maybe that's why women haven't won it as much because we are so empathetic.
02:23I'm going to treat it as a game from now on.
02:26No more empathy, no more I feel sorry for people.
02:29This is a game.
02:30We're here for a reason.
02:31We want to go all the way to the end.
02:33No more Mrs. Nice, Portia.
02:35I'm terrified.
02:36Time to stress eat.
02:37What's your favourite way to eat sausage?
02:40I love it when you come with the heart-headed questions.
02:43Wake up this morning.
02:44I'm feeling good.
02:46Unfortunately, it seems like the other team are angry.
02:49Last night we were gay than the kinners.
02:51It still wasn't great.
02:52There were some dark, dark places.
02:55I couldn't actually look.
02:56I felt so deeply uncomfortable.
03:00It definitely feels like there's been another shift.
03:03Unfortunately, the intensity of the game has gone up.
03:05We've stolen a meal.
03:06We've each eliminated a player.
03:09It's eye for an eye.
03:10There's just something weird about the way that we've got this.
03:14I think Team Kahoo are now starting to play the game
03:18and they realise we're not on fun school camp.
03:21To be continued.
03:24What about you, Ben?
03:25What's your favourite way to eat sausage?
03:27Uh, sorry?
03:29In a PG way.
03:32Get your head out of the gutter, please, Zion.
03:35Oh, okay.
03:36Alright.
03:36Well, let me rethink.
03:37Anyone going to ask me how I like my sausage?
03:39No?
03:40Fair enough.
03:41One thing's for sure, Kahoo are sure to be feeling the fury
03:44after yesterday's antics.
03:46Oh, yeah.
03:47Can I borrow one?
03:48Someone looks ripped.
03:49Look at that.
03:50Look at those.
03:51I don't know.
03:52He's got ants on the bag.
03:53I mean, look at those ants as well.
03:55What's going on this morning?
03:58Um...
03:59Simon's looking hot.
04:00There is a well-built man right there.
04:03Yeah, bro.
04:05Yeah, bro.
04:07He's...
04:08He's, um...
04:09He's stagged.
04:11You've burned the lice.
04:12Really?
04:13Looks like Kahoo are officially on detox.
04:16At least they can look forward to glowing complexions, right, Nix?
04:19My face just got attacked.
04:22My face is swollen.
04:24I've got all these bites all in here.
04:28Oh.
04:30Yeah.
04:31How am I going to be cute on TV?
04:35You just want to do a clay mask?
04:36That's the spirit, Nix.
04:38Nothing like 47 bug bites to unlock your skincare error.
04:41It's easier.
04:43Yeah.
04:43Yeah.
04:44Have a good one.
04:45Yeah.
04:45I pull out my face mask.
04:48Watch out.
04:48Don't get that in your eyes.
04:49Oh, yeah.
04:50We need your eyes.
04:51I do the do's.
04:52Next minute, we're all doing the do's.
04:55But that feels good, eh?
04:56Yeah, that's nice.
04:57Yeah.
04:59Oh, beautiful.
05:00David, how did you do that?
05:02I was putting in my contact.
05:04And then it's just like...
05:05Oh, no.
05:06Is it red?
05:07Come here.
05:07Close your eyes.
05:08Close your eyes.
05:09Close your eyes.
05:09Close your eyes.
05:09Close your eyes.
05:10Well, he's definitely getting purple eye.
05:12Don't worry.
05:13There's a cream for that.
05:14It feels good to have us all together in the morning.
05:17I'm really stoked to wake up and see the same faces that I woke up with yesterday.
05:23How were you guys feeling after last night?
05:25I took a little time and a half.
05:27A part of me does feel bad about knocking out Polly.
05:30I am still happy we're together.
05:32But I do wonder, could we have gone for Louis and maybe taken down one of their knights,
05:38if you will, one of the bishops in terms of chess?
05:42Coffee.
05:43We've got the strainer.
05:44We've got the plunger.
05:46To see that Louis thinks that he can just kind of drop us a bag of kina,
05:53we can get, you know, a little bit of coffee, no plunger,
05:56and think that, you know, maybe we're all good now.
05:59It's a Knicks bag.
06:01And then we put the, pour the water, put the Knicks bag in there.
06:05It turned out.
06:07No, I'm not buying it at all.
06:10It would have been a huge help for us to take Louis down, but I think we'll get him eventually.
06:25I am so looking forward to a charity challenge this morning.
06:28It's a good morale booster and I really, really want to win some money for my charity.
06:32Welcome back guys to another charity challenge.
06:35I've got 5k burn in a hole in my pocket and I think one of your charities would be a
06:39good home for it.
06:40What do you say?
06:41Yep.
06:41Sounds good.
06:42Bring it on.
06:43I like to call this one Bree's Backyard Bash.
06:46Okay.
06:47And your goal is simple.
06:48Knock the bales off the wickets using this random collection of balls.
06:53The fastest to do so wins.
06:56With cricket, tennis, I suck at all that.
06:58Tennis, baseball, anything with like little, like little balls.
07:01Anything with little balls, I'm no good at it.
07:05You'll also be wearing a pair of inversion goggles, which flips your vision upside down.
07:11Oh my God.
07:12I'm like, what the hell are those?
07:14This is going to be really interesting.
07:17Oh, how?
07:19Time starts.
07:20Go.
07:21Oh, there's...
07:23He's opted for a rugby ball on the cricket pitch.
07:26Oh!
07:27Oh no!
07:29Sports presenter showing off his own sporting skills.
07:34Oh!
07:34That was all right too!
07:36Come left, left, left.
07:38Other way.
07:40Oh!
07:46We're getting there.
07:47We're close.
07:47We're close.
07:49Zion is just all over the place.
07:50He doesn't know what's up or down or left or right.
07:53Oh!
07:54Kick it, kick it, kick it.
07:55His last pitch effort lights it up.
07:59Oh!
08:01So close.
08:03If the aim was hitting the camera, that would have been absolutely spot on.
08:08Dude, they're not good, Rhea.
08:10Put the goggles on my face.
08:11What on earth is going on?
08:12Up is down.
08:14And left and right around the wrong way.
08:16And I feel like the balls should be here, but they're actually here.
08:19Oh!
08:20She lets it go!
08:22Oh!
08:22Hey, not a ball!
08:23Stop!
08:25She going the underarm!
08:28Oh!
08:29How's that?
08:30Oh!
08:30Oh, Rhea!
08:31Oh!
08:32My mind is blowing.
08:33It's wild.
08:34I don't ball.
08:34I do not ball.
08:35Right, the time to beat is 26 seconds.
08:39What?
08:39I'm the one to beat.
08:40So this has really become a speed round.
08:44Once you hit 26 seconds, I'm going to stop you up because there's no beating Rhea.
08:48Okay?
08:49Ben, start the time.
08:52He's going for the beach ball first.
08:53He's going for the beach ball first.
08:54Not a bad tactic.
08:56Bree, watch out!
08:57One of my favourite parts is watching Ben's mouth.
09:00He's kind of like...
09:02That thing when I put mascara on and he's like...
09:07Oh!
09:08It's not a bad effort.
09:09He has to get it here.
09:11Can he do it?
09:12Go shoot!
09:12Pivot sit!
09:13Pivot!
09:13Oh!
09:14He's got it!
09:15He's got it!
09:16That's unbelievable!
09:19He's a competitive guy.
09:20I really just want to beat him, you know?
09:22It's hard to know.
09:23I feel like the time's going to be close.
09:24It could be Rhea.
09:25It could be Ben.
09:26But don't worry about that.
09:27No pressure.
09:28It's all about you now, Liv.
09:29Put the glasses on.
09:30Okay.
09:31Oh my God!
09:34It's just the initial shock.
09:36That's what he's saying.
09:43Ready?
09:44Go!
09:46Just go straight.
09:47Straight!
09:48Come to my voice!
09:49Go straight.
09:49Like now, my only take is just to kind of like, find a ball and just throw it and like,
09:54pray that it's in the direction of the wicket.
09:58Go!
09:59Stop there!
10:00That's the time up!
10:01I'm afraid!
10:02As entertaining as that was, we've got to stop you there.
10:05Yeah!
10:07Louis Davis, you ready?
10:08Holy...
10:09Set!
10:10Go!
10:11That's a solid pass!
10:13Oh, Louis!
10:15Another little netball pass from Louis!
10:17Oh, that's close!
10:20That's good!
10:21Oh my God!
10:22Go back right!
10:23That is time!
10:25Oh!
10:26He gets it right on the buzzer!
10:28Finally hit it about a second after my time runs out.
10:32From a stellar career in rugby union, can she do it here on the cricket oval?
10:37Are you ready?
10:39Yeah, sure.
10:40If anyone can do it, Portia can.
10:42As soon as I got the goggles on, I was like, okay, this way, that way, stay straight, then I
10:46know where the thing is, and then I just get my ball.
10:52You've got to be kidding me!
10:54How's this?
10:56There is nothing this woman cannot do.
10:58All right, there's going to be incredibly difficult to beat.
11:01It's Blackford versus All Black.
11:04Are you ready, Frank?
11:05All I can say is watch out, you guys.
11:08Ready?
11:10Go!
11:11He's just, he's just firing the balls!
11:18It's rapid fire from Frank!
11:22He's throwing goggles at this point!
11:29I almost get wet by a ball, but I won't take it personally.
11:32I know he wasn't aiming for me, so that's fine.
11:34Well, guys, I don't know if anyone's going to get a call up to the Black Caps anytime soon, but
11:39a lot of fun.
11:40But of course, there can only be one winner.
11:42It's the woman that really can do it all, Portia Woodman-Wickley!
11:47And with a time of only eight seconds.
11:50Unbelievable stuff!
11:52Eight seconds!
11:53That's unbelievable!
11:55It feels so good that whatever happens from now on, I've got some putia for my charity.
12:00That makes me so happy.
12:03$5,000 going to your charity.
12:05Can you tell us a bit about it?
12:06Yes, Brie, my charity is Te Ropu Wahine Māori Toko Ite Ora.
12:09Māori Women's Welfare League.
12:11You know, they support Māori women and their whānau through all sorts of different scenarios.
12:16It's something I'm really proud of that I get to represent mana wahine all across the motu.
12:20I'm sure they'd be so proud of you as well.
12:23Stoked!
12:235k, go to them!
12:24Yes!
12:25Thank you, Brie.
12:26Very well done, guys.
12:27A lot of fun.
12:28Time to head back to you, Kainga.
12:29That team face-off is just around the corner.
12:31We'll see you there.
12:32Thanks.
12:33See you soon.
12:34Bye!
12:35Bye!
12:35The charity challenge has set us up really nicely for the rest of the day, I think.
12:39Now it is time to head towards that next face-off and hopefully get a victory.
12:59Who would have thought you'd missed this stuff so much?
13:01I know.
13:03Yeah.
13:06That's the one thing I've missed.
13:07What's the thing you've missed most, honestly?
13:09For sure my kids, yeah.
13:10My baby, my three-year-old.
13:12Well, she'll be three soon, but oh.
13:15Oh my God, she's the light of all of our lives.
13:18And I give her every ounce of what I've got every single day.
13:24I don't feel like I did a good job with my first four, that my fifth.
13:30I'm just giving her everything that I've got.
13:34I was 16 years old when I gave birth to my first child.
13:38It's very difficult to be a young mum.
13:41You get thrown in the deep end and you just gotta swim.
13:45My kids have all grown up, but I've got five grandchildren and I really miss them.
13:51I think I'm very fortunate because I'm getting it second time around, you know.
13:54When our son's three years old, me and his father split up.
13:59I ended up leaving my son in the care of his grandparents and I just never got him back.
14:06A few years later, I ended up meeting somebody and then I had my three other babies and then the
14:15younger one passed.
14:18Finding him in his cot was the scariest moment of my entire life.
14:25The feelings of losing a child, you can't really find the right words to describe it.
14:35I hid behind a wall of addiction for five years because I didn't want to acknowledge that my child was
14:43gone.
14:44I didn't want to acknowledge that I'd never be able to run my hands through his hair.
14:50I couldn't be there for my other children.
14:52I felt like I had failed one of them and I started to feel as though maybe my children weren't
15:00safe in my care because I couldn't even protect Alaska.
15:05It absolutely broke me.
15:09I feel like there's a part of me that's, you know, trying to make up for how I f***ed up.
15:20The way I deal with my grief now is I believe that he sits right here, his spirit, and everything
15:31that I look at with my eyes, he's seeing for the first time as well.
15:36He's definitely been with me during this.
15:38I'm telling him, oh my God, I'm scared.
15:41And so he's right here with me.
15:43He's seeing everything that I'm seeing.
15:46And that makes me feel ten times better about anything scary that I've got to go and face because I
15:53know no matter what, I'm never alone.
15:57It's cool, you know, to have someone to yarn about kids and to understand how hard it is to be
16:05here.
16:05Next, oh my gosh. I'm not a big social media guy, so I didn't really know what her life was.
16:11She is a courageous, brave, gutsy woman and a fighter. She's a fighter.
16:17See, because we're the only ones with kids here.
16:19Are we?
16:20Yeah.
16:22Oh, really?
16:22I was the only one with children before you came and I was the oldest, so thanks for coming on
16:29board.
16:29Take a bad man too.
16:33I think the other team will be really fired up today.
16:38Do you think at this stage of the game they may have the upper hand given they have two of
16:44those cards?
16:44I do.
16:46We do know that the other team have got these two advantages to use.
16:50Two little weapons that they could pull out any time.
16:53I think they're quite big weapons probably.
16:56Game changing ones.
16:57Yeah.
16:58We are, we're bracing ourselves for them to use those against us in the worst slash best way they can,
17:05you know?
17:06Judging by how they were to us yesterday, I don't think they're going to be afraid to use them.
17:10Yeah, well.
17:11It's game on.
17:12It's game on.
17:14It's game on.
17:14It's game on today.
17:15We, we are in for the kill today.
17:24Another day, another face off, another chance to win.
17:30Today's challenge could really shake things up.
17:33It could give us a chance to get an edge on Takapu, but it could also give them a chance
17:38to get yet another edge on us.
17:43Welcome back everyone to another team face off.
17:47Simon, I've heard you got a few tricks up your sleeve today.
17:51Well, we sneakily do have an advantage card.
17:54And so we're just trying to discern whether or not it's appropriate to use it or not.
17:58We've got an advantage of time.
18:01When we see the puzzle, I'm like, we've got to play this.
18:04A lot on the line for you guys today.
18:06You really need that food, don't you?
18:08We do.
18:09Yeah.
18:10Zion, how about you?
18:12What's been the most difficult part of this game?
18:14Taking food away from people that are in the same situation as us.
18:18I think that was, that was hard for our team, but it's part of the game.
18:21You know, we went down to a good team yesterday and we want a bit of revenge as well.
18:27I feel like from the start they've been playing a dirty game and it's hard to respect that.
18:32We need to pull this one out.
18:34Okay, for this challenge, you will be using lettered cubes to spell out a phrase.
18:38You must physically spell out that phrase.
18:41In order, standing left to right.
18:43Cubes must be held up using only your palms.
18:46First team to correctly spell out the phrase and hold it for 10 seconds wins.
18:51If after one hour, no team succeeds, the team who has the most letters correctly in place wins.
18:58The winning kaihoutu will get to choose one member from each team to go head to head in the elimination
19:03battle later today.
19:05But the power isn't the only thing you win.
19:07You want to know what's under here, don't you?
19:11It's a classic Kiwi Beach picnic.
19:13Oh my god, chicken.
19:17Including bachelor's handbag, i.e. a roast chicken, rolls, chips, slaw and my personal favourite, onion dip.
19:27But there's more chips than that, eh?
19:30Don't worry, there'll be enough to feed the whole whānau.
19:34All right, who thinks that's worth playing for?
19:35Yeah!
19:37Well, let's get into it.
19:42Simon, I'm going to give you 30 seconds with your team to discuss whether you want to use that advantage
19:47or not.
19:48We have no idea how much time this could give us, but I think any time advantage is probably going
19:54to help here.
19:56Yes, we are going to use our advantage card.
19:58Going to use your advantage?
19:59Mm-hm.
20:01Cheers, Jayden.
20:02Kahu!
20:04You will have a five-minute head start on your puzzle.
20:09Oh my god!
20:10Oh my god!
20:11Five minutes!
20:12Are you kidding me?
20:13It's all mental.
20:16Five minutes is ages, so let's relax.
20:18Let's get it!
20:19Thank you!
20:21We all feel like we can get this done in under five minutes.
20:26And I'm looking out the side of my eye and I can see Takapu kind of stressing that we've kind
20:30of pulled this card out.
20:32Okay, so the good thing is we can watch everything they solve during the five minutes.
20:35Five minutes is so long.
20:37Feeling like you're on the back front from the start is quite hard.
20:39It's nerve-wracking.
20:41Island.
20:42Treasure Island.
20:43I-L.
20:43There's a S.
20:44Yes, there is.
20:45I-S-A.
20:48Sailor?
20:48There's a lighthouse.
20:49Sailing S-A.
20:50There's a lighthouse.
20:51Sailor.
20:52We've already got words coming up in front of us.
20:54It's looking so good.
20:55We've already got Treasure.
20:56We can go for Island.
20:57Sailor.
20:58Like, it's looking good.
20:59We can make heaps of words.
21:00There are the words Treasure Island in there, so is there any sort of six-letter phrase you can think
21:05of that would have them in it.
21:06And then I remember, oh no, we've got to make a phrase out of this.
21:10How are we going to make a phrase out of Treasure Island Sailor?
21:13I think we should actually throw out some phrases that we know.
21:16Another strategy is we use one word as the anchor and we try to build phrases off all that.
21:21So maybe we start with Island here.
21:24We've got Lost, like Lost Treasure.
21:26Oh yeah.
21:27L-O-S-T.
21:27Get it, do it.
21:28That's nice.
21:29Long lost.
21:30Long lost treasure.
21:31Nice, Georgia.
21:33When I've got time and you're on holiday and you've got three weeks to finish a Woz jig, like, best
21:37thing in the world.
21:38I love doing that so much.
21:40What if it's long lost treasure in mind?
21:42When you have an hour and you're fighting for food, there's so much pressure.
21:47Pakapu, nearly in the game.
21:48Louie, please look forward.
21:49Do you think treasure's definitely in there?
21:51It's pretty obvious, but I think it'd have to be, wouldn't it?
21:54Pakapu, all on their feet.
21:56Ready to go.
21:57That's a phrase, eh?
21:58Trust.
21:59Ten, nine, eight.
22:02It dawned on us that, like, the puzzle's real hard.
22:04And five minutes probably wasn't enough.
22:15Three, two, one.
22:18Talkapu is in the game.
22:19Now we have a battle on our hands.
22:21We're gonna go for it.
22:22We just get into it, find the letters as much as we can and just make words.
22:25Like, the first word we see is treasure.
22:26And so it makes sense, of course.
22:28We're on Celebrity Treasure Island.
22:29Why wouldn't that be a word?
22:32Can't be treasure, it'd be too long.
22:34It's using all the letters.
22:35For a second should we just abandon the word treasure?
22:37Yeah, so we can break it up.
22:38We don't keep seeing it.
22:38That's what I was trying to do.
22:39Hey guys, what about this?
22:42What?
22:42The treasure is in the soil.
22:45I'm seeing a lot of people honing in on words.
22:48I had my long lost treasure.
22:50So I'm there reminding everyone, hey, we can't be looking at the same word the whole time.
22:54We're constantly going to have to jumble.
22:56My gut feeling is we have to unscramble again.
22:58And maybe have a look at what else we have.
23:00Think about the chicken.
23:03The coleslaw.
23:05The buns.
23:07Chips.
23:08Dip.
23:08Dip.
23:08Dip.
23:09You can make missing.
23:11You can make missing.
23:12You can make hunting.
23:14I've got nothing.
23:15I just step back and look.
23:17Make it look like I'm thinking about something when I'm really not.
23:20I'm thinking, you know, I hope I look smarter than I feel right now at the moment.
23:24You go like this.
23:25I don't think it's going to be this because it just doesn't even make sense.
23:28All we've done is just spelt six words out of it.
23:30It's a phrase.
23:32It's not a common phrase you'd hear every day.
23:35It's not.
23:35It's not.
23:36That was a nice little hint.
23:37I'm honestly, I'm so stumped.
23:39It is so frustrating.
23:40We're trying all these different combinations and getting nowhere.
23:44There's some sayings with the word island in it.
23:46Island in the sun.
23:49Your island, take me.
23:50At one point it's like we had the phrase like, my island in the sun.
23:55I was like, I don't think it's going to be this.
23:58But also I kind of take a little side glance and I see that Kahu are in the exact same
24:04boat as us.
24:05What?
24:05Yeah, I think have a look at this first.
24:07We have now hit the halfway mark of this challenge.
24:12Simon, Portia, I suggest you come grab these.
24:19Simon and Portia run and get the clues.
24:21They run back, open it and the first thing I think is we are not even a little bit close.
24:27They said money made the world go round.
24:30Until the money stopped, the world collapsed.
24:32Cash became worthless.
24:34Banks crumbled.
24:35But gold, gold still mattered.
24:36The mission, carry the gold away from the riots and deliver it to safe haven.
24:40We believed our bastion would hold.
24:42But word spread and our safe place is a safe place no more.
24:46Signed, survivors of the last refuge.
24:49I really want to say it was like, oh, Eureka.
24:51I'm just like, what do you guys think?
24:53What do you guys think?
24:54Hoping somebody's got something because I got nada.
24:57What is the only thing that matters in the ruins?
25:01Can we make matters?
25:03Right, game time.
25:05Only.
25:05Can we make only?
25:06If that gets rid of the why.
25:07Yeah, only.
25:08Akapu moving all of their blocks.
25:11Have they figured it out?
25:13Only gold matters in the ruins.
25:18Can we do only gold matters?
25:21Wait.
25:21Do we have enough?
25:22That's true.
25:23Only gold matters in the ruins.
25:23That's it.
25:24Okay, do it.
25:25Only gold matters in the ruins.
25:27Like, that's it.
25:27That's it.
25:28We managed to get all the words, but then I look up and I look at Takapu and they're
25:32already there.
25:33Don't let them.
25:34Don't let them see.
25:35Have they figured it out?
25:43We've got to race to this.
25:45We've got to go as fast as possible.
25:53Okay.
25:55Let's go.
25:56Everyone got it?
25:57Three in time.
25:58Maybe.
25:58Stay in it, Zion.
25:59I got you.
26:00Stay in it, Zion.
26:01Frank, I got you.
26:02I need to open my arms a bit.
26:04Okay, yeah.
26:05Push.
26:05Good.
26:06No, I can't.
26:07Push, Frank.
26:08Okay.
26:08This is where it gets a little bit tricky.
26:11Pick it up as one.
26:11The phrase must be held for 10 seconds.
26:14Having that long word matters on the end of an already flimsy chain.
26:20Okay, one more then.
26:21You've got this.
26:21Back like that, please.
26:23Okay, okay.
26:23Can you step forward?
26:25It's just proving impossible.
26:27And every time we get that far, matters falls to the ground.
26:31We're just falling short of the finish line.
26:33This is incredibly frustrating.
26:36We've got to push.
26:36Okay, just hold it firm, guys.
26:37We're nearly there.
26:38We're nearly there, Takapu.
26:39It's ironic that currently the only word that matters is matters.
26:44Hold in there, Dave.
26:46You got this, Dave.
26:47The main thing we need to focus on is getting the matters up.
26:50The matters is such a long word.
26:52The word's like seven letters long.
26:55I don't want to hear how I'm going to hold this up.
26:58That's it, that's it.
26:59Let's get this one up.
27:00Push out, push out, push out.
27:01Yeah, that's it.
27:02You got it, Dave?
27:02Yeah.
27:02Comfy?
27:03Yeah, very comfy.
27:05Oh, shit.
27:07Nice.
27:08Kahu have interpreted the sentence as only gold matters in the ruins.
27:13The most difficult and heaviest word is third in the row.
27:17It's way harder to progress when all of your strain is going on those words in the middle.
27:22Stay tight.
27:23Stay tight on that, Harrison.
27:24Got it?
27:24Yep, yep, yep.
27:25Got it, Harrison?
27:26Takapu's so close to completing their frame.
27:28This way, this way, this way.
27:29Hold on.
27:30Force this way.
27:30Force has to continuously come this way.
27:32Okay, just hold.
27:33Just calm.
27:34This yelling is not helpful.
27:36It's so frustrating.
27:38It is so hot.
27:39We're all tired and sweaty and getting a bit grumpy with each other.
27:43Hold on, guys.
27:44Hold on, guys.
27:44I'm so close to one more word.
27:46Kahu.
27:46Looking for one more word.
27:48Right, come on.
27:49They're on their last word.
27:50Come on.
27:51Looking for one more word.
27:53Oh!
27:55And the middle word drops.
27:56Come on, come on.
27:58One minute, guys.
27:59One minute.
28:00We're up there, team.
28:01We're up there for a couple seconds.
28:02Right, one minute.
28:03Clock's almost down.
28:04One minute.
28:05This is it.
28:06Whoever has the most words up in the correct place will take this out.
28:11There's one minute to go.
28:13We are freaking out.
28:14Okay, just hold what we've got.
28:16Just hold whatever we've got.
28:17Keep going.
28:18Push, push.
28:19We're wobbling.
28:2030 seconds.
28:21Come on, guys.
28:22We've got 30 seconds.
28:24Time's up.
28:25You must hold whatever you have for 10 seconds.
28:28Not too much.
28:28Not too much.
28:29Not too much.
28:29Not too much.
28:30Ah, Kapoor.
28:31I've seen to hold what they have.
28:33Five.
28:35Hold it.
28:35Hold it.
28:35Four.
28:36Hold it.
28:36Just hold this.
28:38Three.
28:39Two.
28:40Leave it.
28:40Leave it.
28:41Leave it.
28:42How did I do that?
28:44Man.
28:4610.
28:46Nice.
28:47Focus.
28:47Nine.
28:48Eight.
28:49Seven.
28:50Six.
28:51Five.
28:52Four.
28:53Three.
28:54Two.
28:55One.
28:56Talk of three.
28:58Take out this challenge.
29:04Well done.
29:05Well done.
29:06We didn't need to drop that, man.
29:08We did not need to drop that.
29:12I look over at Si, and he can't look me in the eye.
29:15And that was pretty heartbreaking to see.
29:19I'm just taking it personally.
29:23I could feel this, this feeling of, I was the one that let the team down.
29:29Great work, Tim.
29:30It's a well.
29:32It's a well.
29:33It's a well.
29:41The teams are back at their kainga.
29:44For Kahu, it's another empty belly return, with the only thing to swallow, another tough
29:49loss.
29:49We're back at camp.
29:51I don't want to talk to anyone.
29:54I just want to kind of take myself out of the, out of the dynamic for a little bit.
29:59I think the impact that's going to have is maybe this is the first time we're going to see cracks
30:04in the team.
30:09I'm feeling still pretty frustrated.
30:13I just don't want to let us just keep getting just crushed by takapu.
30:19You're good, Vin?
30:20Mm-hm.
30:20Now they're enjoying yet another reward.
30:23And we're stuck with our beans and rice again.
30:27It's okay, Vinny.
30:28I'm sure takapu are incredibly humble after their third face-off win.
30:32Home sweet home.
30:33So not only do we get to bask in the glory.
30:36Another win.
30:37Another win, team.
30:39We also have earned ourselves a food prize.
30:41This one I'm stoked about.
30:42That was an honest victory.
30:44Yeah.
30:44That food's going to taste better.
30:46Yeah.
30:46Yeah, it is.
30:47On that, they must be starving over there.
30:50Like, they've had nothing to eat.
30:51Should we give them some of our stuff?
30:53Like, I'm so happy to donate my bread rolls.
30:57Yeah, same.
30:57And coleslaw?
30:58Oh, coleslaw, we should probably.
31:00Take the coleslaw?
31:01Yeah, it'd be good for us.
31:02Just give them some bread.
31:05From this moment on, we eat what we win.
31:08Otherwise, why try and win?
31:09Personally, I feel like we've kind of cleared the air enough.
31:12With that team.
31:14Um, after Louie's offering of some kinna to them last night.
31:17Which, by all accounts, they appreciated and were very, very thankful for.
31:20In my opinion, that was enough of a peace offering to put this behind us.
31:25Like, honestly.
31:27Oh, terrific.
31:28Coleslaw and bun for you.
31:30Coleslaw and bun for you.
31:31And number 10 kahu.
31:32I need a spoon.
31:34I just wanted the chicken with the buns and the coleslaw.
31:39And then the chips with the onion dip.
31:41Oh, I would have made me a bun with dip.
31:43Oh, ow.
31:46Yeah.
31:48Oh.
31:48I want the chicken.
31:50Oh!
31:50Ah!
31:52We don't have no chicken.
31:54And me and Tee were like, let's go and try and find some kinnas.
31:58Oh, cut it.
31:58I pulled that kinna out.
32:01And I was like...
32:03Oh!
32:03We cracked it!
32:05Ah, son of a bitch.
32:07Yes!
32:10Grenade's lowing.
32:12All my dramas and my struggles were gone.
32:16Oh!
32:17Yum!
32:18Okay, I'm gonna let this guy go.
32:19I know we're on a high right now with the kinna fine, but how's everyone feeling about going in tonight
32:24for the elimination?
32:25I feel like after my performance in that challenge, I wouldn't mind being going up for elimination just so I
32:32can prove myself again.
32:32You don't need to prove yourself, but...
32:36I'm kind of scared.
32:38I'm kind of scared of elimination.
32:39I feel like I let the team down a little bit, but...
32:41Nah, not in any way.
32:43I'm just hoping that, you know, that elimination, I just hope no one will bust on.
32:47No one really knows what's going to happen.
32:50Ah, I reckon someone over at Takabu may have a good idea.
32:53I think Vinny is one that we should eliminate as soon as possible.
32:57Yeah, I agree.
32:58Agreed, but I get the sense that Vinny could potentially be a bit of a disrupting energy in their team.
33:06If it wasn't Vinny?
33:07I think another type of person we should look at is just the ones who just sit comfortably in the
33:13group.
33:13A Harrison or a David.
33:16I feel like Harrison is, like, pretty dejected.
33:20He doesn't have the same fire that Vinny would have, is that what you mean?
33:22Yeah.
33:24I think at this point in time, we're all worried about going up for elimination.
33:28They're pretty wild with what they pick and what they do on that team, so it could literally be any
33:33one of us.
33:34But who do you think would be their weakest player?
33:37Because that's another angle we could take.
33:42I think athletically, it would be Knicks.
33:46All you can do is give it your best.
33:49If it is you that's got to go up, man, you don't go down without a good fight.
34:00I think we're all feeling pretty vulnerable.
34:02We really don't know who could go up for elimination, but we have another advantage card.
34:09This makes me feel pretty good.
34:12When we come over the crest of the hill,
34:14I see that it's clearly going to be an endurance challenge.
34:21I give Portia a little nudge.
34:23I can do this.
34:24If you want, I can do this.
34:26I got this.
34:27This challenge, it looks like a torture device.
34:31I'm like, what the hell is this?
34:36I know that whoever is going up and doing that challenge tonight, it's going to be a tough watch.
34:48Welcome once again to the elimination arena.
34:51Portia, your team won the face off, which means you now get to choose one person from each side to
34:57battle it out for their right to stay on the island.
34:59Come on up.
35:02I've seen the challenge.
35:03I haven't a fair idea of what it is.
35:06I've made my decision.
35:10I feel like things have been getting a little predictable.
35:14So I'm going to shake it up a bit.
35:18As usual, loser goes home.
35:21But this time, the winner will become the new Kai Ho 2 of their team.
35:25Whoa.
35:28I'm absolutely shocked.
35:30I am worried about losing Kai Ho 2.
35:33What also comes with that is losing immunity.
35:36There could be the target on my back.
35:40I start to question whether I have made the right decision.
35:54As usual, loser goes home.
35:57But this time, the winner will become the new Kai Ho 2 of their team.
36:03Seeing as I've thrown a spanner in the works, I'm going to give you 30 seconds to reaffirm your decision.
36:08Time starts now.
36:10I am worried about losing Kai Ho 2.
36:13But the most important part is getting everyone home.
36:18Portia, who from Kahu are you putting up?
36:21My mind doesn't change.
36:25We're going for Harrison today.
36:29I'm shocked.
36:31Truly, truly didn't think I was going to get called out.
36:34Don't worry, Harrison.
36:36You got this, bro.
36:37Harrison, we see him as, like, the glue.
36:40We know Vinny and Harrison are good mates, and so if we take him out, that might cause a bit
36:45of disruption to their team.
36:47And from your own team?
36:49Going for Ben.
36:54Pretty annoyed that they've put him up again.
36:57Bugger, but there's no getting out of this.
37:01Today's challenge is simple, but brutal.
37:04You must take a weight in each hand and then step onto these small, pointy footstands.
37:08Once you're up, you have to balance on those footstands, all while ensuring your weight doesn't drop.
37:13First person to fall off the footstands, or drop the weight, goes home missing out on the $100,000 grand
37:19prize for their charity.
37:20Winner becomes the new Kaihoutu of their team.
37:25I'm going to win this one.
37:27No doubt about it.
37:29Harrison.
37:31Ben.
37:32Take your marks.
37:35Light work, Ben.
37:36Light work.
37:36We really need Harrison to pull this one out, because Ben being Kaihoutu, I feel like we'll be in trouble.
37:46All right, Ben, remind us who you're playing for.
37:48Jayden, I'm doing this for Heart Kids New Zealand, who wraps support around the 600 Kiwi kids every year who
37:54have life-threatening heart conditions and surgery.
38:00Harrison, who are you playing for?
38:01Jayden, my charity has sparked that chat.
38:03Jack Jensen created it.
38:05He lost a few mates to suicide, and he started this charity all about sparking that chat, having that conversation
38:10with your mate before they do something stupid.
38:14All right, both very worthy charities.
38:17Playing for them and your spot on this island.
38:20Harrison, Ben, are you ready?
38:22Yeah.
38:25I step under the pegs, and it actually feels okay.
38:29Then I grip the handles, and I'm like, I feel really strong.
38:33We're going to be here for a while.
38:36And we're away.
38:40Good form, Harrison.
38:43Looking easy, Harrison.
38:45Ben, changing his position.
38:48Harrison wants sunblock, eh?
38:49Yeah, bro.
38:50Chill, bro.
38:50Roasting like a chooker, eh?
38:56Yeah, bro.
38:57Yeah, bro.
38:57Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
38:57That's it, that's it.
38:58You do your thing, bro.
38:58Yeah, that's it, that's it.
39:00That's good, man.
39:00Nah.
39:06Harrison, able to make jokes up there.
39:08Ben, trying to find his happy place.
39:11You got this, Benny.
39:12My forearms are really starting to ache.
39:15Those little wooden pegs feel like they're pouring into the soles of my feet.
39:19It's really, really, really, really out here.
39:25Both players reaching deep.
39:29Both players have been up here for 10 minutes now.
39:32They do not want to be the one going home tonight.
39:3715 minutes now.
39:38You win this, you become Kaihoutu.
39:44All right, you've been up there for half an hour now.
39:47This challenge is all about the mind.
39:50How long can you fight through that pain?
39:52All the reasons that I have to win this are playing through my head,
39:55but I have to stay focused on something.
39:57I start counting backwards from 1,000.
40:01998.
40:03997.
40:05996.
40:07I've got a hell of a long way to go.
40:17Ben, channeling his inner zen.
40:20Both players fighting for their position on the island,
40:23but also to become the new Kaihoutu of their team.
40:27Gaining immunity in this game.
40:30What's going through my head?
40:32This captaincy.
40:33Added to that, the power of immunity.
40:36I've got to win this.
40:38Come on, Harrison.
40:40All right, you've been up there for 45 minutes.
40:43You got this.
40:45Don't look at him, Harrison.
40:47Dig deep.
40:48You can do this.
40:49Dig deep, bro.
40:50Yes!
40:51Dig deep, bro.
40:52Harrison's just digging in and somehow finding another minute and another minute and just holding on.
41:00Good man.
41:03You can do this.
41:06You got this, bro.
41:08Appreciate the mic, bro.
41:10But Ben just does not seem to want to let go and is locked in.
41:15It's a hard watch.
41:18I can't.
41:19Harrison questions himself once again.
41:22Will he stay?
41:23Relax the elbows.
41:26And just like that, Ben wins.
41:31Harrison going home.
41:34Oh, my God.
41:35Oh, my God.
41:38I'm so sorry.
41:39I'm so sorry.
41:40I'm so sorry.
41:49Thanks, Steve.
41:50Do you want to use the gun?
41:52Absolutely not.
41:54I'm pretty gutted.
41:55I dug deep and tried my hardest.
41:57Then I'm up there with my team.
41:58I've got my back.
41:59I love the friends that I've made.
42:02It's real special.
42:06Harrison, that was an incredible performance.
42:10Super inspiring to see you stand up there.
42:12I know you'll be greatly missed by your camp.
42:14You're also not going home empty-handed.
42:16You've won 5K for your charity, which is awesome.
42:23Do you have any final words?
42:25You've got a team.
42:26I love you guys a lot.
42:27It's very, very sad to go.
42:28Love you, bro.
42:30Yeah, it's very sad.
42:33Harrison.
42:35Your time on the island has come to an end.
42:38Haere rā.
42:39Tu rau hawai ki.
42:41Say your goodbyes.
42:42He rāna.
42:43Bye, guys.
42:46I'm so proud of you, bro.
42:50What a brother.
42:52You got this.
42:52I've loved my time here.
42:55It's been incredible.
42:56Yeah, clean it up.
42:59I really needed this for my mental health and wellbeing and proved how strong I was.
43:04I'm real, real proud of myself.
43:06Thanks, man.
43:07It's the main team.
43:09Love you guys.
43:09Love you guys.
43:10Love you team.
43:12It's right here.
43:13Knowing that my best friend, my best ally is now going home.
43:23I'm feeling more vulnerable than ever.
43:30Ben, congratulations on your second elimination win.
43:36Well, with that win, you also become the new Kaihoutu of Takapu.
43:42Portia.
43:43Haramai.
43:43Come hand over their Manahoutu.
43:51It feels fantastic to have immunity.
43:54Now that I'm a team captain, my plan is to keep leading Team Takapu in the same fair democratic fashion
44:01that Portia did.
44:03Also, take home this, my friend.
44:08But at the same time, this is a competition.
44:12I came into this with a singular goal.
44:16And that's to win this.
44:18Congratulations.
44:19Take a seat.
44:24Just 13 of you remain on the island.
44:27Every day you play, one step closest to victory and the all-important treasure.
44:32The first step is knocking off as many members of Team Kahu as I possibly can.
44:39Hey, back to your kainga.
44:40Wrist up.
44:41See you tomorrow.
44:43And there's one person who's first in that line.
44:49Next time.
44:52I've got a little bit of a plan of what I want to do.
44:55Strategic moves are made.
44:57I know that both you and I would love for a wahine to win this competition.
45:02So, Rhea just kind of like so...
45:05And then she throws this question at me.
45:10Hello?
45:14Guys, we're being attacked!
45:15Guys, we're being attacked!
45:17I hear David going nuts.
45:19And I just see coming from the side of the beach.
