00:00Hey guys! Okay, so I have a question from a fan on Twitter for you guys. What gives you the
00:08motivation to never stop following your dreams and what you believe in? And after you're done answering that question, I
00:14know there's a lot of you, so if there's any of you that wants to give a really quick, brief
00:19thank you that you didn't get to give on stage, we have a thank you camera right there. But question
00:24first.
00:27What motivates to keep pursuing what you believe in and dream in?
00:39Well, I'm gonna speak for everyone. You know what it is? For me it's like this burning desire, and I
00:50think everyone here has that, sort of just not being fulfilled, honestly.
00:54It sounds sad, but it's really not. It's sort of this feeling that when you get something, you want more
01:00of it.
01:01And I know that sounds selfish, but it's not, I don't think, is it? I don't know. Apparently no one
01:06up here agrees with me.
01:07No, no, it's great, it's great. It's good.
01:09What do you think?
01:11What motivates me is being able to see these guys every time I work. This cast is more like a
01:18family to me, and to be able to see each and every one of them every time I work.
01:23You know, not every time because we work so separately sometimes, but whenever I get to see somebody that I
01:28work with and get to experience what they bring to every scene, every emotion that they convey in a scene
01:37is just, it's something that's beautiful to watch.
01:41And so I love just working with each one of these people. That's what motivates me. I don't know about
01:45you.
01:46Eris, what do you think?
01:47Eris, you're a good speaker.
01:48Yeah, you're really good.
01:51Okay.
01:53So what motivates me every day? I mean, sorry, can I get the question again?
01:58What motivates you to keep following what you believe in and your dreams?
02:02God. God motivates me every single day. He's my drive and he's my fuel. And I know, and I want
02:07to like, and I want to resemble every girl and just every kid in general.
02:12And I want to inspire people because I used to be one of those girls in Los Angeles that would
02:16think, oh, I would never make it in this industry.
02:17Oh, like they wouldn't take me seriously. Oh, like a black girl, I can't do this and can't do that.
02:22But look where I am.
02:23And I'm only 13 and I'm from LA and you can follow your dreams and you can be what you
02:26are. And age does not matter in this case.
02:29And I guess what motivates me is all those kids I want to inspire and God. And yeah, that's all.
02:38And any final thank yous from you guys? Do any of you guys want to thank people really quickly?
02:44One thing. One thing. One thing. One thing. Yeah. Our parents. Our parents. Yeah. Yeah.
02:48You can do it there. Sterling.
02:50Sterling. You're talking to us now.
02:51You should have brought the other one.
02:53Howdy. Ensemble winner.
02:55First off another SAG victory. Here we go.
02:58Two time ensemble winner, Sterling K. Brown. Let's go.
03:02He's so cool.
03:04Somebody thank Isaac and Elizabeth. Yes, yes, yes.
03:08You do it.
03:09We would like to thank Isaac and Elizabeth.
03:13I want to thank my parents. Without you, this wouldn't even be able to happen.
03:19And I love you guys and thank you guys for taking risks on me and sacrificing for me to have
03:25this job.
03:26So I'm very thankful for that. Yes.
03:30Again, let's thank Isaac and Elizabeth and our entire writing staff because we are, as an ensemble, we are only
03:37as good as the words that come on the page.
03:39And we have an incredible just room of writers and storytellers that help us tell this story every day.
03:46So we have to give it up to our writers, our producers, and even our crew for being able to
03:52really put together an amazing, amazing show that I love being a part of.
04:05I just wanted to say really quickly, going back to the first question, what inspires me to keep going?
04:09Just the sheer love of the work and the writing. So thank you so much, our writers.
04:19I want to thank my DP, Yasu, especially because I do a lot of scenes with a lot of white
04:27people and your boy still shows up.
04:30It's hard to do sometimes. So thank you, Yasu. I appreciate you.
04:37I'm light-skinned, not white.
04:40It's hard to do.
04:42It's hard to do.
04:42It's hard to do.
04:43We like that.
04:45What's that?
04:46Another question.
04:47Mike Renner in the front to Blacktree, please.
04:51I'm not saying nothing.
04:54Hi, everyone. Congratulations. I'm Jaleesa from Blacktree TV.
04:59Of course, this show brings a lot out of everyone emotionally.
05:04I'm curious, do any of you have any personal things that you've learned
05:09from your character about yourself?
05:17Oh, geez.
05:21Watching the show, when I saw Mr. Sterling and Ron Cephas Jones, it was episode 116, I believe?
05:30Or 117, where he passed?
05:32116.
05:34My father passed away when I was about 12, and I spent many years coping with that and not fully
05:43addressing it,
05:45even though I went to counseling groups and stuff like that.
05:48But being able to watch it on TV and it be so similar to what happened in my life, it
05:54really affected me.
05:55And I believe it helped me grow as a person.
05:59So I thank the writers and Mr. Sterling and Mr. Ron and so forth for portraying that.
06:08Because, you know, it really helped me.
06:10And it made me learn a lot about myself.
06:13Last question in the front row.
06:17Front row.
06:21This question is for Chrissy, Brandy from InStyle.
06:23Just really quick, I wanted to ask you if, A, you will ever wear a train again after tonight.
06:28And then also, what would you tell yourself when you, there was a point where you were not going to
06:37give up,
06:38but it was a tough time.
06:38Jason Bateman talked about how you're one job away.
06:41And that kind of was it for This Is Us.
06:43So I want to know, what would you tell your younger self at that moment, looking back on that?
06:47Yeah, you know, the train thing, I'm kind of over it.
06:50I think everyone else is, too.
06:52But it does get to come off.
06:54I put snaps on this thing, y'all.
06:56So it's coming off.
06:57It's exciting.
06:58Exactly.
07:00Like Transformer, a little something like that.
07:03Yeah, you know, I definitely was one job away.
07:05I completely couldn't relate to Jason's speech.
07:08And, of course, I got a little teary-eyed.
07:11But, you know, I had to borrow money to pay my SAG dues.
07:14And I wasn't even working.
07:16So, like, it was a struggle.
07:18But I think that it's one of those things, sort of piggybacking on the dream question,
07:22was that there's something that is not fulfilled within you.
07:25That you were like, there's still something there.
07:29And there's still something that I have to do.
07:31And not from an ego place or a prideful place.
07:33But, like, there's a story that I'm supposed to tell.
07:35And so I'm really grateful that I am able to do that.
07:38And I stuck it out long enough.
07:40I think Harrison Ford said he just stood in line long enough.
07:43So, honey, I'll stand in line.
07:44And I'm very glad I did.
07:46So, yeah.
07:48Thank you so much.
07:49That was the last question.
07:54Thank you so much.
