Transcript
00:00You working hard?
00:05Yes.
00:06Elizabeth Moss is taking over the director's chair.
00:09The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned
00:11that the actress is set to make her directorial debut
00:13on The Handmaid's Tale in the forthcoming fourth season
00:16of the award-winning Hulu drama.
00:18The Emmy winner, who stars as June
00:20and executive produces the series,
00:21based on the dystopian novel by Margaret Atwood,
00:24will step behind the lens to direct
00:25the third episode of season four.
00:27Of the news, Moss says in part,
00:29it means so much to me,
00:30and I do not take the responsibility lightly.
00:33Leading and executive producing this show
00:34the past three years has been such a joy,
00:36and I've had the incredible gift of learning so much
00:39from the directors we've had on this show.
00:41As for what the fourth season will entail,
00:43it will have to answer some big questions
00:45left at the end of season three.
00:47June was successful in freeing dozens of children
00:49from Gilead, but there could be a global cost.
00:52Now questions remain as to whether this will spark
00:54a war between Gilead and Canada.
00:56And as for June herself,
00:57she was last seen nursing a gunshot wound.
01:00So there's still a lot left to explore
01:01within the show's dystopian universe.
01:03Executive producer Bruce Miller
01:05previously told The Hollywood Reporter
01:06about what to expect next, saying,
01:08people find the show unpredictable.
01:10I don't try to make it unpredictable.
01:12In fact, I try to do the opposite.
01:14Almost inevitably, what you think would happen
01:16is what happens.
01:17It's just not what would happen on television,
01:19it's what would happen in Gilead to June.
