00:06In the latest installment of the daily social distancing show,
00:09Trevor Noah dissected all the coronavirus updates
00:12from the week, including the stimulus package
00:14from Congress, President Trump's reaction to the virus,
00:16and his vision for reopening the country by Easter.
00:19Kicking off with the good news, Noah noted how Republicans
00:22and Democrats reached a deal on the $2 trillion stimulus
00:25package, which means direct payments to Americans,
00:28expanded unemployment insurance, aid to small businesses,
00:32aid to the airline industry, and billions of dollars
00:34to help prop up the healthcare industry.
00:36But the Daily Show host jokes that the money isn't for
00:39restocking on toilet paper.
00:41And I know a lot of people out there are desperate for toilet paper,
00:43but please do not use those checks to wipe your ass.
00:46Noah also mentions that the stimulus package has a provision
00:49that blocks bailout money from going to businesses that are owned
00:52by government officials, including the president.
00:54But she says we should all take a second to appreciate.
00:57How strange it is that lawmakers felt that they needed to write in
01:01that the president cannot use this money for himself and his family.
01:05The late night host urged people to remember that this is the same guy
01:08who, quote, took $150,000 from a small business recovery program
01:12after 9-11.
01:13And even with this restriction, I bet Trump will find a loophole
01:16to try and get some of this money.
01:18Noah also took a moment to address Trump's declaration that he wants
01:21to reopen American businesses on Easter.
01:32The host also notes that Easter means everyone congregating together in churches,
01:36which is the worst possible idea during a pandemic, calling that, quote,
01:40every supervillain's wet dream.
