00:00Melissa McCarthy is teaming up with Nicole Kidman in a new drama for Hulu.
00:05The Emmy winner and Oscar nominee is making her return to TV for the streamer's new
00:09limited series, Nine Perfect Strangers. The series, based on the novel by Leanne
00:13Moriarty, is set at a boutique wellness resort where McCarthy plays Francis, one of
00:18nine stressed city dwellers, who go to the resort in an attempt to find the path
00:22to a better way of living. The resort is overseen by Masha, played by Kidman, a
00:26woman on a mission to reinvigorate their minds and bodies. The new project is set to
00:31reunite several members of the creative team behind Big Little Lies, putting together
00:35Kidman with author Moriarty, writer and co-showrunner David E. Kelly and executive
00:40producer Bruna Papandrea. McCarthy will also serve as an executive producer on the
00:44project, which is expected to debut in 2021. This will be the actor's first series
00:49regular role since CBS' comedy Mike & Molly ended back in 2016. For more TV casting
