00:09Aria Stark may have easily defeated the Night King and the White Walkers in Game of Thrones
00:13final season, but in HBO's highly anticipated Thrones prequel, the White Walker Doom is
00:18only just beginning and will play a bigger and longer part in the successor show.
00:23The series will take place thousands of years before anyone knew of Jon Snow, Daenerys
00:27Targaryen and the Stark siblings, and now author George RR Martin, who created the world of
00:32Westeros, is giving fans additional details on what to expect from the prequel series, which is
00:36already in production on a pilot episode. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Martin
00:41explains that although we won't see the familiar characters from Game of Thrones, there
00:44should be some familiar names at the very least, saying the Starks will definitely be there.
00:49So the show's apparent focus will be on the age of heroes and any Thrones fanatic knows that
00:54that was the era of Bran the Builder, an ancient Stark whose namesake was eventually given to
00:58the Bran Stark we know and love, Bran the Broken, who at the end of the series became protector
01:03of the realm and ruler of the six kingdoms of Westeros. Other details Martin offered was that
01:08of the White Walkers, who he says will also be along for the prequel ride, or as he calls it
01:12in his books, the Others. Casterly Rock will also play an active part in the prequel, but the
01:17infamous Lannister family will probably not, since the territory at the time will have House
01:21Casterly in charge. According to Thrones legend, someone named Lan the Clever swindles the
01:26Casterly family and wins the Rock, which then establishes House Lannister for generations
01:31to come. Some fans are speculating that Naomi Watts, whose role in the series has been
01:35suspiciously vague, could be playing the notorious part and that the incident could play
01:40out during the prequel era. Arguably, one of the biggest changes from the successor series
01:44and the original drama is that the Seven Kingdoms are no more. According to Martin, we talk
01:49about the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, but if you go back further, then there are nine kingdoms
01:53and twelve kingdoms, and eventually you go back to where there are a hundred kingdoms,
01:58petty kingdoms, and that's the era we're talking about here.
02:01HBO previously said the prequel, rumored to be called the longest night, won't arrive until at least
02:06a year after Game of Thrones ending. So we have a lot of time to speculate until we can get
02:10our
02:10Thrones fix again, people.
