00:00Hospitals today are acting as if they are businesses and we as doctors are being portrayed as the selling agents.
00:08So is it one of the reasons for the violence against doctors?
00:11You have seen those holdings and billboards and ads, right?
00:15How prominently the doctors are displayed there as models with their degrees in bold and stuff.
00:22So you say, you attracted me like a shopkeeper, you fleeced money and then you are handing over a dead
00:30body.
00:31So I'll be angry. I have a right to get angry.
00:34And I know for sure you could have done better than that.
00:36And where does this cynicism come from?
00:39From the belief that every relationship is transactional.
00:44Have you not heard the common man saying,
00:47All four are.
00:48All four are.
00:49And that includes the politicians, the priests, the engineers, the teachers and the doctors.
00:59All four are.
01:00All four are.
01:03Nobody is exempted.
01:04And when nobody is exempted, then the common man gets to the right, the inner right, the self-appointed right
01:12to exercise violence.
01:13When he feels that he has been hardened.
01:18So that does not necessarily have to do with the institution of medicine or the particular medical professional in question.
01:29That has to do with the prevailing culture.
01:33It has to do with an overall loss of sacredness.
