00:01Hi, I'm Eva Ravenall. I wrote, directed, and acted in the short film, Jane. Jane tells
00:08the story of a young nanny, an aspiring writer who gets the gig of her dreams, babysitting
00:13for her favorite author's child. But what begins as this perfect meet your idol moment
00:19takes on a darker turn when it becomes clear that not everything in the house is as it
00:23seems. I spent a lot of my 20s nannying, and I wanted to tell a story that captures the
00:31strange intimacy of working in other people's homes, and also reckons with the push and pull
00:37between exposure and isolation, longing and grief, and ultimately the ways in which women
00:44hold each other's desires, secrets, and hope. The film is a little spooky, a little funny,
00:51and very femme, and it stars the amazing Carabono and was shot in Brooklyn, New York. Our entire
00:59team is so thrilled to be a part of Palm Springs Short Fest, and we hope to see you there.
01:06Bye!
