00:00Welcome to INS. This question is for Virat Karnasar.
00:03So how physically and emotionally demanding was your role?
00:07Did you undergo any special training or preparation for the character?
00:12Yeah, this character has been very hard work.
00:18For the body and for the mental transformation,
00:21because this character has been seen in daily life.
00:24So we have surveyed, researched and said, everything I got to know.
00:34In this process, my actor has been 100% effort.
00:39I mean, efforts to do this character.
00:47I mean, I can't tell anything about my character,
00:50because it's very... In the movie, you get to know Ohio.
00:54So when you say Ohio, it's going to go to Ohio,
00:58so that's why I can't tell it now.
00:59You have at least shared two different characters in the trailer and in the trailer.
01:05We have seen a modern kind of look and one is the time area.
01:10So would you like to share something?
01:12Yeah, I mean, two looks are there, but I can't tell anything.
01:16Because if you look in the movie, you get to know Ohio.
01:18I mean, you have to say what a secret reveal is.
01:21Yeah, I mean, I can't tell anything.
01:25Mata Maji, how was your experience working in the film
01:28that blends mythology, fantasy and action?
01:31Oh, it was beautiful.
01:34I got a lot of new experiences.
01:40And my character is also something which I have not portrayed before.
01:46I have to thank my makers for giving me this trusting me with this role it was
01:51a beautiful experience because I got to work with many many talented people
01:55beautiful people on the set and to create something creativity itself comes
02:03from experiencing joy so I think being able to do that with along with my team
02:10was really good yeah I feel very lucky and I feel very blessed that I got to make
02:27my Telugu debut with Nagabandam because first the story second the characters
02:35that I got to play in the film third the team that I got to work with felt very
02:39homely on set working with the art working with Nabha Garoda Ram sir Jagapati
02:45Babu sir Mahesh Manrekar sir it was a learning experience it was a beautiful
02:52experience and to be to have my debut in the Telugu industry I think it's as good
03:00as it gets one of my characters is Emma Chhabdali you all know about Emma Chhabdali
03:13it's there in the history books the other character I don't really want to speak
03:17about I want you watch it
03:20this question to our producer Nishita Nishita
03:23So what was the initial idea or vision behind the Nagava?
03:30Vision this was our vision of Hindu mythology.
03:33We had to make a big film about the people in Sanatan Dharm.
03:41That was our vision. Grand scale.
03:44Highest level of visual experience to the audience.
03:48That was our thought process.
03:52So mythology, fantasy films often require significant investment in VFX and award building.
04:00So what were the biggest production challenges you faced?
04:03Only after investing in India's biggest star cast.
04:09I don't want to take names but there were very big films which were done using India's biggest star cast.
04:19And failed because of VFX failures.
04:22Here are our challenges.
04:24Our director is in and out.
04:27He understands VFX.
04:29And he made sure that our investment of right justification is because of that.
04:38So Rishabh ji again.
04:41So Rishabh ji again.
04:41We have seen in the trigger launch event also you are saying that this will be more darker and more
04:47darker.
04:49So what kind of we can see in that?
04:53How much is this villain?
04:56How much is this villain?
04:57You can imagine what you can imagine.
04:59It's a little bit more.
05:03Literally.
05:08It's a little dark.
05:10The film is a very high intensity.
05:26The film is a very high intensity.
05:30I mean I have never thought of it.
05:33I mean I have never thought of it.
05:36It's very dark.
05:38So again Nawaji, in the fantasy films a lot of attention is paid to the look and a lot of
05:45time goes into attending the look.
05:47Tell us about the experience in the past days, AI age, how do you think fantasy films, art goes, have
05:57the same appeal to the audience as you used to be 5-10 years back?
06:035-10 years back actually not many makers were courageous enough to attempt this kind of storytelling because of you
06:14know your lack of access to you know great
06:17VFX or even capital for that matter.
06:21Now makers like Abhishek Namah sir and our producers who are passionate about storytelling are able to you know come
06:30up with something of this scale and you know create something very convincing also.
06:35So when you are attempting 1960s or 1700s you are making your sets, you are you know understanding towards your
06:44Indian roots and to actually create it convincingly and portrait in a way which is visually amazing on par with
06:57international films were not happening 5-10 years ago and now it is happening.
07:02So our director who is very very specific with the character and the looks not just mine with every other
07:11artist every time somebody used to walk in I used to take a lot of time to get ready firstly
07:18and that is for sure but I think more than me our lead actor and our antagonist used to take
07:27more time because they used to have like these elaborate looks and whenever I used to see them
07:32them on screen I mean like in front of me on set I used to not see the actors but
07:37I used to see the characters so that is the kind of attention to details the makers have taken to
07:42create those characters.
07:44And even my when it comes to my looks including the texture of the hair in every scene they used
07:54to take care like you know because it has to look authentic to that time period including the colors including
08:00like the stitching of a saree or like a skirt or a blouse with the borders they were it was
08:08beautifully planned and constructed.
08:11So I think there is no age like today that we are able to tell the story and this movie
08:19is something which is going to make sure and make makers and audience also believe that they can still come
08:28to the theatres and have a beautiful experience.
08:30Yeah.
08:31So the question is about the ad sirs.
08:34What's it Nagabandam apart from other fantasy action films being made to you?
08:40Nagabandam is special because it's a mythology and high action, adventurous movie.
08:46mythology is also one kind of mythology.
08:58Mythology is also one kind of mythology.
08:59So after watching you will only tell the surprise what is it.
09:03Yeah.
09:04So again Nagabandam your one of the songs is very popular.
09:08It was released a few days ago and a few weeks ago very popular.
09:14Would you like to add something about the song?
09:17Yeah I think it was one of the biggest highlights of my shoot during Nagabandam because we shot that song
09:25for about five to six days and everything was shot in the night time.
09:30And the entire environment of the song used to be like festival.
09:36There is Lord Padmanabha Swami and there are like about five thousand dancers dressed in different classical attire.
09:42And we used to have real Kuchpudi dancers and real Bhartanatyam dancers on the set.
09:48And the moment I walked into the set I felt like I am an actual Padmanabha Swami temple because of
09:55the beautiful sets firstly.
09:57And also the choreography was done by Ganesh Acharya Master and Shastri Verma Master.
10:04Just to dance and experience for that song with that many people was like community dancing and that was a
10:14different kind of experience in itself.
10:16I really enjoyed and I feel this is one of the best songs I have shot in my career.
10:23What makes Nagabandam stand out?
10:25So what makes Nagabandam stand out is the visuals.
10:31Never before seen kind of visuals you will be able to see in this movie.
10:35Visuals I mean not just VFX.
10:37VFX ka granular hi nahi.
10:39Sets jasa ham sets daale te.
10:41Das almost ten sets we have erected in Nagabandam.
10:45You see the kind of intricate detailing.
10:47It's like woh sub-cinema mein woh nahi milta hoi experience.
10:53People won't get to see that kind of stuff.
10:56Matlab aaj kal ke movies mein.
10:58We have taken into like with utmost detailing we have done all of those.
11:02So we have one more question in the producer segment.
11:06In today's time when filmmakers are highly carefull about the budget of the film.
11:10How did you think that this was the right time to tell this story?
11:17Toh I feel aghar achha content kar rahe hai toh audience they'll always receive it.
11:25There is always scope for good movies.
11:27I wouldn't say matlab hafte mein teen chaar movies release ho rahe hai.
11:32Matlab audience are like matlab yeh movie.
11:35Sirf yeh movie ko hi kyun dekhna hai.
11:38So matlab there is something naag.
11:43Sorry I forgot what you asked.
11:45Okay so in today's time when filmmakers are highly carefull about the budget of the film.
11:51How did you think that this was the right time to tell this story?
11:55So the good content is always received by audience.
11:58That's the only belief which actually made us do such an adventure.
12:03So this is the last question to producer.
12:06How do you plan to differentiate Nagabandam in the increasingly crowded pan India market?
12:12So again as mentioned we have delivered best in all of the areas in Nagabandam.
12:19Be it artwork, be it visuals, be it costumes or storytelling.
12:24So in all the areas we have done we have given our best and I am sure on July 3rd
12:30movie film will speak for itself.
12:33Sorry sir sir sir this is the last question to you.
12:35So what is the audience who are all who have prepared to watch this film in theaters?
12:41What is it not bro.
12:44Now think about it.
12:45Firstly it talks about Sarnatandharm which is the pride of our nation.
12:50It talks about something mythological, spiritual which is not like it's Ramayanan Mahabharat is vastly known by everyone.
13:04This incident lot of people don't know about it.
13:07I didn't know about it before I got to know about the script.
13:12That is there.
13:13The visuals are there.
13:15Hum sab ki mainat.
13:16That is there.
13:18There is a lot to this film because the scale of the film, the story, firstly mainly the story here.
13:26I mean the way it's been conceptualized and perceived.
13:30Audience is going to love every minute of the film.
13:35Yeah.
13:43In the age where audience are watching content on the film, Nagabandam is something which will pull to the theaters
13:55and it's going to give you a massive theatrical experience, a community consumption.
14:00Please come with your family and friends and enjoy this experience and welcome to the world of Nagabandam on July
14:103rd.
14:11Just one point.
14:11Yeah.
14:12So film kahi pe monotonic ne dikhe ga aapko.
14:15Every 10 minutes mein ek visual change hota rahe ga.
14:19Like audience will get to see a new visual.
14:21Matlab visual matlab it's not like like kahi sare filmon mein already banaya hua sets use karte hai.
14:30Aur aur outdoor shooting locations pe jaate hai.
14:33Woh locations use karte hai.
14:34Yeha aasa nahi hai.
14:35So we have erected so many sets.
14:38They get to see never seen before kind of visuals every 10 minutes.
14:42That gives him that keep that gives them that high all throughout the movie until the climax.
14:48They get to see something new.
14:50So for this question, to be very upset again, the last question sir.
14:55Which is your favorite fantasy film from India or any other film industry?
15:00Bahubali.
15:01For sure, yeah.
15:03Bahubali.
15:04So all the best team.
