Some nights, a city’s busiest street stops behaving like a street.
Cars sit packed tightly along the Champs-Élysées as horns sound and people move through the lanes between vehicles.
The filmer, NGO, told WooGlobe, “Senegal had won the Africa Cup of Nations. Thousands of people had gathered on the Champs Élysées to celebrate the victory.”
Groups cluster in the roadway, cheering and waving as the traffic remains at a standstill.
With the boulevard locked in place, the celebration takes over the space normally reserved for commuters.
The scene settles into a noisy, shared pause in central Paris.
