Have you ever wondered what it's like at the bottom of the ocean?

In this video, we take a close look at one of the deepest points in the open Atlantic Ocean, plunging more than 5,000 meters (16,400 feet) below the surface.

To put that into perspective, if you dropped a stone here, it would take more than an hour just to reach the seabed! At this extreme depth, sunlight cannot penetrate, leaving the abyss in total darkness with freezing temperatures and crushing water pressure hundreds of times greater than at the surface.

This extreme environment is why the deep ocean remains one of the least explored places on Earth.
