00:00Hello there my fellow Rebels. Love it or hate it, the modern era of Star Wars is struggling to find
00:04its groove with its movies. The TV side isn't doing too bad with massive hits like Ando and
00:10The Mandalorian, but Star Wars are trying to get the movies back on track by moving The Mandalorian
00:14to the big screen and Star Wars Starfighter is coming out in 2027. This may bring new life into
00:21the Star Wars universe, but whatever actors could we bring in just to kind of make it even better?
00:27I'm CJ, this is WhatCulture and here are 10 actors I think we need in the Star Wars universe.
00:34First up, it's Michael B. Jordan. Michael B. Jordan is a damn good actor, perfectly suited for a Star Wars
00:40role. Possessing both physicality and profound dramatic depth, his work in Creed proves his
00:46ability to lead a major franchise while maintaining a compelling human core. Furthermore, his turn as
00:51the complex villain Killmonger in the movie Black Panther has established himself as a master of
00:56the morally grey. Essential for a saga built on the conflict between light and darkness.
01:02Jordan's command of action sequences showcased in films like Creed and without remorse makes
01:07him an ideal candidate for a significant Star Wars role. Perhaps a conflicted Jedi stuck in
01:13a morally grey area or even a skilled anti-hero bounty hunter.
01:16Next we have Emily Blunt. Emily Blunt is a good pick for Star Wars simply because she brings
01:22both serious acting and amazing action skills. She stole the show as the kick-ass Rita Vrataski
01:29in Edge of Tomorrow, proving she can absolutely nail the intense, gritty fighting style that
01:34could be needed in future Star Wars movies. Plus her performance in movies like A Quiet Place
01:39and Oppenheimer shows she can handle deep emotion and pressure, which means she could be a super
01:44complex Jedi Master or a rebel with a dark past. I mean, if she can survive Meryl Streep in The
01:50Devil Wears Prada, she will have no problem facing any Sith Lord.
01:54And next, it's Simu Liu. Simu Liu is a very versatile actor. His early breakout as the charming
02:01Jung Kim on the comedy series Kim's Convenience proved his sharp comedic timing and dramatic
02:07depth. His work as the Marvel superhero Shang-Chi showcased an incredible blend of intense physicality
02:13and star charisma. Recently, he's been appearing as rival Ken in Barbie, shows that he can seamlessly
02:19transition between blockbusters and give nuanced character pieces. This blend of physical and comedic
02:25aptitude could create an amazing character in the Star Wars universe. Plus, it seems that Simu
02:31is a huge Star Wars fan, showing off his lightsaber skills in Disneyland, which means he could do the role
02:38justice. Well, maybe he needs to practice some of those lightsaber skills, but he's definitely a
02:43shoe-in for the role. And next on my list is Anya Taylor-Joy. Anya Taylor-Joy is no stranger
02:49to
02:49appearing in well-known franchises, then to voice the Princess Peach in the new Mario movies, playing
02:55Furoso in Mad Max, and appearing in the...em...what's the best way to describe it? Different Marvel film
03:04New Mutants is Lyanna, otherwise known as Magic. But it's the role in the Gorge from Apple that showcases
03:11her talent for intense action and drama that would make her an excellent addition to the Star Wars
03:17universe. Now, there has been a rumor that Anya is going to play Ventress, which is crazy, but seeing
03:24her bring that terrifying iconic villain to life with some jewel-weed and curved lightsabers, and maybe even
03:31being in the new season of Ahsoka via flashback, that would definitely get me the Renew My Disney Plus
03:37subscription.
03:38No surprise to anyone, the next name on the list is Keanu Reeves. Come on. We all think it. Keanu
03:44Reeves is
03:45one of the most beloved actors in cinema. He's known globally for bringing a unique blend of quiet
03:51intensity and genuine heroism to so many roles like Neo in The Matrix, the legendary assassin John
03:59Wake. And of course, the internally optimistic Ted Logan from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
04:08Okay, yeah, let's never do that again. His commitment to practical stunt work and the ability
04:12to portray deeply stork yet soulful characters makes him perfect to be a Jedi Master who maybe turns to
04:18the dark side to avenge the death of his pet Pog. Chewbacca better watch his back.
04:26And next on my list is Florence Pugh. She was a dynamic and magnetic screen presence known for
04:32bringing intense emotional depth and authenticity to challenging roles. The work as Yelena Belova
04:37in Black Widow is a perfect mix of physicality, humour, but also adding emotional depth in contrast
04:44to the emotionally raw Danny in Midsommar. The capacity for both powerful physical action and subtle
04:50emotional vulnerability makes an ideal candidate for a character that has a troubled past and can't
04:56decide if she wants to be a good guy or a bad guy. Maybe she could be a more battle
05:00-worn and older Omega
05:01from Bad Batch and give her the first live actions appearance of the character. And next we have
05:08Christoph Waltz. Christoph Waltz is a perfect actor to bring deeply nuanced villain to the Star Wars universe,
05:14injecting a unique blend of culture charm in Chilling Menace. His Oscar-winning performance as the
05:21terrifying Colonel Hans Lander in Inglourious Bastards and the morally complex Dr. King Schultz
05:27in Django Unchained proved he can elevate any script with his distinct presence in intensity.
05:33Bringing Christoph to the Star Wars universe as a manipulative crime lord with his ability to switch
05:38from calm intellect to sudden ruthlessness is exactly what a high stakes Star Wars antagonist needs.
05:45I think fans would be captivated to see such a commanding and unpredictable talent.
05:50It certainly wouldn't be a Blofeld if he joined. See that's a James Bond joke. That's the one bad joke
05:59I'm gonna do this video I promise. And now a name you maybe didn't think you'd hear, Emma Myers. Emma
06:05Myers has already proven her amazing range, making her an ideal candidate for a live-action Star Wars
06:11role that requires both vulnerability and quiet strength. Through performances Enid Sinclair in the
06:17series Wednesday showed her capacity for capturing a fan-favorite earnest character, while her lead
06:23role in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder demonstrated her dramatic intensity. Now I know she has technically
06:30officially joined the galaxy voicing the character of Cheetah in The Smuggler in Star Wars Visions Volume 3.
06:36However, having that link could be the perfect moment to transition from her voice acting to a live
06:43action role as some sort of scrappy rebel or a newly discovered force-sensitive person or even bringing
06:50Cheetah to live action. Which I think would be really cool because I really enjoyed that episode.
06:55And next we have Cameron Monaghan. Cameron Monaghan is already the face of a fan-favorite Jedi,
07:01Cal Kestis, and moving him from gaming into live-action is just a no-brainer. Bringing
07:07Monaghan into a series or film not only would satisfy a massive portion of the fan base, but would
07:13seamlessly merge the video game narrative with a broader live-action universe. Having previously tackled
07:19complex roles like Ian Gallagher on Shameless and the villainous portrayal of the twins Jerome and
07:25Jeremiah on Gotham proves he can handle the physicality and the emotional range for Cal's
07:31trauma and struggle against the Empire. Now Jedi Survivor is happening around the time of season
07:37one of Kenobi, which means he could potentially appear in season two if they ever greenlit it.
07:43I mean, come on, it makes sense. Give us our live-action Cal Kestis, or even a live-action
07:50version of the games. Come on, please. It's gonna happen, right? Right?
07:55And our final entry to the list, Zoe Saldana. Zoe Saldana is arguably the most successful actress
08:02in modern sci-fi. She's played many iconic characters like the fierce warrior Gamora in the Marvel films,
08:08the alien Nitiri in Avatar, and of course Uhura in Star Trek. Bringing her men's star power and proven
08:16talent for embodying complex characters in a sci-fi environment maybe could be the massive win Star
08:23Wars needs to help get its movies back on track. And she's definitely an actress that many fans are
08:29screaming for. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Have your own suggestions? Well, let me know in the comments
08:35below so we can discuss this further and maybe we can do another video with your suggestions.
08:42Thank you for watching and as always, may the force be with you.
