00:00Scientists have officially made a daily pill that can make your dog live longer and the FDA
00:05has already backed it and it could be on the market by the end of this year. The company is
00:10called Loyal and the pill is for senior dogs which is basically any dog over 10 years old and over
00:1514
00:15pounds. They're saying that this medicine would work by lowering a hormone that makes dogs age
00:20faster as they get older. The goal that they have with this medicine is about a year of extra healthy
00:25life which is basically five years in dog years. We're going for one healthier year of dog life
00:30hopefully more maybe less but one healthier year is kind of where we've drawn the line. And if this
00:35medicine gets approved it would be the first drug ever in any species ever made to slow down aging.
00:42Hello? Big dogs actually live almost as half as long as small dogs do and they think that all of
00:47that comes down to that same exact single hormone. That's why they started with dogs in the first
00:52place because the plan is dogs first and then humans next. They're saying that dogs are actually
00:57a better test for human aging than lab mites. The FDA just cleared two of the three things that it
01:02needs
01:02before launch and the company wants it out by the end of this year for around $100 a month. If
01:08this
01:08becomes available would you pay $100 a month to make your dog live longer?
