00:28show where you'd like necessarily like look into the mirror and talk to your old friend magically
00:33or whatever so this seemed a logical way to do it um and thank god he was willing to do

00:40we just spent a lot of time in the writer's room figuring out like okay if we go back to
00:43the past
00:44what can it tell us about the present like to give it a reason to be there and so i
00:49think we do learn
00:50a lot about um nick and ann's relationship and the beginning of like what kind of started to break her
00:58down early on and how she got to be kind of fragile in the present and also what a mentor
01:04and how
01:04important he was to jack um and how why jack was struggling so much without him
