00:00And just, I want to mention Iran.
00:03We appreciate the relationship we've had over the short period of time with Iran.
00:08The primary thing is, you know, we can talk about the Iran deal all day long.
00:12We're not investing any money.
00:14We have the right to if we want, but we're not investing any money.
00:17We didn't pay for it like Obama did.
00:20He paid billions of dollars.
00:22He paid 1.7 billion from an airplane, all green cash.
00:26It was crazy.
00:27I watched that.
00:28I couldn't believe it.
00:30But the one thing that's happening that's of note, frankly, the only thing that really
00:35matters to me, is Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.
00:39And it says it loud and clear.
00:42They're not going to develop it.
00:43They're not going to buy it.
00:45They're not going to do anything with it.
00:47And if they do, they suffer unbelievable consequences.
00:52Not just a little bit like, I won't even tell you the consequences.
00:58But the consequences are the ultimate consequences.
01:02And with that being said, I hope we have a very good relationship.
01:05But the biggest thing is, they will not have a nuclear weapon.
01:08And that's the reason I got in, and that's the reason I agreed to sign that we originally had.
01:16Marco was with me, and they originally wrote that we will not develop a nuclear weapon.
01:21And I said, no, no, you're not going to develop it.
01:24You're not going to buy it either.
01:26So we have, that took another couple of days of time.
01:30Everything was, it's ridiculous.
01:32But, so we have, they will not develop, purchase, buy, or any other thing.
01:38They're not going to acquire a nuclear weapon.
01:41If they do, all hell will rain down on them.
01:45And they're not going to do that, you know.
01:48Now, you talk about regime change.
01:50I never cared about regime change.
01:51It's never a part.
01:52But I guess you have regime change, because you know better than anybody.
01:56The first group, they're all dead.
01:58The second group, they're dead.
02:00A part of the third group is gone.
02:04And we're dealing with people that I think are very rational people.
02:07I mean, they were nice to deal with.
02:09They were strong people, smart people.
02:11I think, actually, they're smarter than the first and second group.
02:15But they're not radicalized, and they're, you know, looking to help their country.
02:24So, again, I don't believe the regime change.
02:28You know, I've watched regime changes for years.
02:30They never work.
02:31It has to just happen.
02:33I can tell you, this is a country where the Amir is so respected,
02:38and the Prime Minister is so respected by the people.
02:41And that's the way a country should run.
02:42It should run out of respect, not of fear.
02:46As you know, at least 42,000 protesters were killed in Iran.
02:51Jill, they were protesting.
02:53The wrestler, they had the big event at the White House the other day, the UFC,
02:58and they were all talking about he was a great fighter.
03:01And he was hung with his two friends because he spoke something about their regime.
03:08It's tough stuff.
03:10So, we're very happy that we're involved.
03:14We're very, very impressed with Qatar and the way they've handled things
03:19because they were really on the line.
03:21They were in the front line.
03:22They were being shot at just about as much as anybody,
03:25but you were a lot closer because you were right there.
03:27Literally, I could walk in a minute.
03:31Every other place, I have to take a plane, but I can walk.
03:34So, they were really on the line.
03:36And I just want to comment that, and you should,
03:40I just want to really congratulate you on bravery.
03:43I don't know if you get congratulated for bravery
03:45because bravery is something you either have or you don't,
03:48and you never know until you're tested.
03:50But you were tested, and you had great bravery.
03:53Thank you very much.
03:54Thank you, Mr. President.
03:55I really appreciate it.
03:56Are you going to have a separate meeting with President Zelensky?
03:59And what would a Ukraine deal look like?
04:02Well, we have one, but we had a good meeting.
04:05I'm meeting him later on, too.
04:07We had a very good meeting.
04:09Look, Russia should make a deal.
04:10Russia has lost tremendous amounts of people,
04:13and so has Ukraine.
04:15Last month, they lost 35,000 soldiers between the two of them.
04:20Think of it.
04:22This is on a monthly basis.
04:23They averaged 25,000 people, mostly soldiers,
04:27young, beautiful people.
04:31And it's crazy what's going on there.
04:33But we had a meeting, and we'll see.
04:36I spoke with President Putin on Sunday.
04:40And it's sort of the same thing.
04:42I mean, they just keep going, fighting, losing soldiers.
04:44They lose so many soldiers.
04:47This is not since World War II has anything like this happened.
04:51I settled eight wars.
04:52This was the one I thought was going to be the easiest settle.
04:55So they just, there's a lot of dislike between the two leaders.
05:02But, yeah, I'm meeting with him again later on today.
05:06And are you going to have a special focus on Ukraine?
05:09Well, we're going to look.
05:10Now we focused on, we were focused on Iran.
05:13It's going to be in the back, in the rear view.
05:18But we'll be, I just, look, we have nothing to do with it.
05:21We sell weapons to them.
05:22We don't even give them.
05:23Obama gave them $350 billion worth of weapons.
05:27Gave, which was crazy.
05:29The European Union pays us full price for weapons.
05:34But it's not that.
05:35It's that this, it has no impact on us,
05:38other than we sell weapons.
05:39We're thousands of miles away.
05:42But the only reason I'm in,
05:44I don't like to see 25,000 young people die every month.
05:48Every month, 25,000 people die.
05:51Young people, they're just starting their life.
05:53They go to this front and they get blown up.
05:57And Ukraine is losing a lot of people too.
05:59I admit the whole thing is ridiculous.
06:00So, yeah, I'm going to do whatever I can.
06:04The Pressure, Mr. President,
06:07if the Iranian regime continues to pull their own people,
06:09will you still move ahead with this deal?
06:12If they refuse to walk with their people?
06:13If it continues to kill their own people,
06:15the Iranian regime...
06:16Well, we're talking,
06:17we talked to them about it and we see.
06:19I will say the majority of that took place
06:22during the first and second regimes.
06:26Much more so than now.
06:28It was much more severe.
06:32But it's a terrible thing.
06:34Yeah, do you have a question?
06:34Yes, Mr. President, what are the economic opportunities?
06:44Well, I think they'd be good.
06:45I mean, I can tell you from our standpoint,
06:47we have a lot of opportunities all over the world.
06:50But the Amir lives right next door.
06:52And I think, you know, they have a lot of oil.
06:55I think they'll be good.
06:56First, they're going to have to prove themselves,
06:57I think, before any of us go in there.
07:01But I hope they do well.
07:03I hope they do well.
07:04Look, one thing.
07:07Whether they do well or poorly,
07:09they can't have a nuclear weapon.
07:10That's a big thing.
07:12If they had a nuclear weapon,
07:14they would have blown up Israel.
07:16They would have blown up the Middle East.
07:18And they probably would have taken a shot at us.
07:20We would have gotten them first, I think.
07:22But they would have done tremendous damage.
07:26Had we not canceled the Obama nuclear deal,
07:32the JCPOA,
07:34you would have had them having a nuclear weapon five years ago.
07:38You know, that expired.
07:39That was a road to a nuclear weapon.
07:41It was the dumbest deal I've ever seen other than NAFTA.
07:43NAFTA maybe was even dumber.
07:45But just in terms of a bad deal for us.
07:48Paid them billions and billions of dollars.
07:51We paid nothing.
07:52They paid them billions of dollars.
07:54And it was a disaster.
07:57I terminated that in my first term.
07:59Had I not terminated it,
08:00and we hit them hard, we terminated it.
08:04My second term, we sent in the B-2 bombers,
08:06and we terminated their,
08:08I call it the nuclear dust.
08:09They're enriched material, right?
08:13And totally effectively.
08:14And I remember when CNN, which is fake news,
08:17I don't know, you probably use them.
08:18But CNN said,
08:19well, maybe it wasn't that effective.
08:21So the Atomic Energy just reported
08:23that it was one of the most devastating bombings
08:26that they've ever seen.
08:27The whole mountain collapsed on top of it.
08:29And frankly, to go get it,
08:31we're going to go get it.
08:32But to go get it is a big deal
08:36because they say only China and us have the equipment
08:39where you can even get it.
08:40The whole mountain has collapsed on top.
08:42We have cameras on it.
08:43You couldn't make the case
08:45why are you even bothering?
08:46Because it's not really valuable.
08:48It's, you know, it's probably half a million dollars worth.
08:51It's not very valuable stuff.
08:54But I think psychologically we want to get it.
08:56Are you frustrated with Netanyahu's there?
08:58No, we had a great relationship.
09:02We're talking about some end details.
09:06I didn't like that he did an attack based on a,
09:09you know, there was a very minor
09:13little thing with some drones that were released.
09:15And he ends up doing a very,
09:17I saw that attack.
09:18I saw where that bomb went.
09:20Did you see what happened?
09:21That was not, that was a vicious,
09:23that was too much.
09:25You know, you can do too much also.
09:28But we've had a very effective relationship.
09:32Without us, without the United States,
09:35there would be no Israel.
09:37Without me, there would be no Israel
09:39because no other president was willing to do what I did.
09:43I've had a great relationship with Bibi,
09:45but now Bibi has to be more responsible
09:49with respect to Lebanon.
09:52Lebanon used to be a great country.
09:53It was a country where you had professors,
09:55doctors, lawyers.
09:57The great intellect was in Lebanon.
10:01Now it's just, it's terrible.
10:03I would say of all countries,
10:04they've been treated the worst.
10:06And they can't defend themselves.
10:08And they have Hezbollah, which is a problem for them.
10:12So, no, I'm not happy with the way
10:16Israel has handled themselves with Lebanon
10:19and with Hezbollah.
10:21They should have been able to do this yet faster.
10:24It just goes on forever.
10:26And when that happens,
10:27it throws a negative light on the big deal.
10:31And that's the deal with Iran.
